In a shocking move likely to crush the US economy overnight, China is refusing to make its new gold-backed Yuan, convertible from or to US Dollars. The new Yuan will be introduced next Tuesday, April 19.
When the International Monetary Fund (IMF) agreed to add the Yuan to the basket of world currencies used for Global Reserves and International Trade, they wanted China to make the Yuan more reliable as a currency. Since then, China has almost un-pegged its Yuan from the Dollar, allowing its value to fluctuate on world markets.
But for years, China has been amassing huge amounts of gold bullion; some have said their appetite for bullion has been “staggering.” And with a new gold-backed Yuan to be issued next Tuesday, the entire world will have a choice of a new currency to use for international trade: The old US Dollar which is backed by nothing, or the new Chinese Yuan, which is backed by gold. Which currency would YOU use?
When this new currency is issued, countries that have been forced to use US Dollars for decades, and have had to keep billions of dollars in their foreign currency reserves, will be free to dump those dollars. But they won’t be able to dump them to China for the new gold-backed, Yuan! Looks like someone has been catching up on their Art of War reading. Bet that BTC and cryptocoins will be exchangeable for that New Yuan.   I would use neither the dollah or the yuan ... backed by gold or not. I'd make my own backed by hookers and blackjack. |

Wish me good fortune ... for this week is turning out to be ... of significance. Always wanted 10mil EMC2, got to 8.1mil .. then gave away 1.2mil, on top of maybe 1mil over a year. This works out, I'm going for 100mil EMC2 and bringing people in. ... also .. shhhh ... don't tell anyone, but may just get access to a pro FX trading bot ... for those that remember April 2014, Black Coin pool used other coins to profit while paying out in BLK. Yeah ... going to use the entire market (apart from a few coins I like) to pay for EMC2 ... science research stuff into .. erm .. how much can a pro bot really beat the market. Will do experiment results and all. What next after the coinfest ?
Made some friends at coinfest and they can all see I am serious about crypto. I am also serious about making EMC2 a platform for exchange of science and educational ideas. Membership will be paid in EMC2, which will be distributed to teachers to hand out to kids and students. Not going to lie and say it's almost done. It ain't even started really. Real technical development will start in June, I can promise you that. Until then, I am looking for people who don't mind buying a bit of coin to hold for the long run. |

What's the status on the pine ? I was waiting for info on that and the other one that is being tested.
Been keeping an eye on Pine64, still no news if anyone has theirs. Just some usual kickstarter grumbles about slowness with deliveries. It does make me wonder, it's either all underground for bearded geeks Linux forums .. or pine is not shipped. Raspi 3 shipped in Feb, I bought them on launch day, tho gave all 3 away, but there is plenty news about it. |

Well with coinwallet.co down and out, I am really in need of this. So what is the outlook with the new hardware you have been testing ?
Maybe you could just bundle it all with a device for us nontechnical noobs. I'd buy one. hell i bought a Trezor and all my bitcoins are converted into Altcoins so my Trezor does nothing lol
You can buy the whole starter pack Raspi .. https://www.raspberrypi.org/products/ includes a box, PSU, even memory card. Although do need a separate SSD (don't buy a HDD for this). 120GB SSDs are now $50. Total cost $100 + monitor. It would be good to have a proper ROKOS pack, trouble is the logistics. |
