261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons for being in crypto. on: September 18, 2021, 09:47:40 PM
1. If you are in for the tech, what is the problem your favorite project is solving?

2. If you are for the profit, how are you generating one with the coins in your portfolio?

For the tech, it's always a speed for me. I haven't see any projects that match the world adoption like the speed of visa, we need a project that can proof to the world that indeed we are revolutionizing financial system without any loophole, Solana were making noise on unlimited transactions speed and they had to shutdown the network last week. Some developers believe it was spambug that lead to that issue but is that an excuse.

On the profit side, any project that will not ruggpull my investment, I'm good, as long as the money to be made.
262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The greedy must be poor on: September 18, 2021, 09:33:08 PM
Some people refuse to take profits when their coins and tokens are surging so high.
Because greed let people keep on waiting for higher and higher value for there coins and end up selling at dip.
Since price can’t go up all the time.

You see, what makes crypto fascinating is greed, and greed is what causes the price to skyrocket when everyone tries to profit from it. Most people will not take profit not because they are greedy, but because they see potential future growth, and the greedy ones will attempt to outsmart the market until they buy at the top, and before you know it, the market will trick them and they will start wailing that crypto is a scam.
Looking back four years, I believe most of individuals who purchased coins/tokens and are still holding them will have made a significant profit by now.
263  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rollbit.com | Crypto's Most Rewarding Casino 👑 on: September 18, 2021, 04:34:29 PM
While we are having discussion about these big wins from small bets here is another one : https://twitter.com/rollbitcom/status/1437370479657037827?s=19

The bet is although big from small gamblers perspective as it is $12.5 but winning $46,550 out if it is huge also at the same time. These are some lucky players just hitting that multipliers and who knows who get to that levels.

I just had to look at the image and see the amount for myself, but this is the kind of luck that comes once in a lifetime, and I hope the player doesn't lose everything on similar games, which brings us back to the question of how much the player has lost before winning this amount, I mean, 3724X is a huge multiplier, and even with a script, there has to be some losses and adjustments to win such amount except if the player is a wizard.

A wise player would take out the funds as soon as possible to re-strategize but you know the gambling spirit, let me try again, I'm sure I will again! Grin Grin
264  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you think about youtube/twitch marketing? Is it ethical? on: September 18, 2021, 03:42:36 PM
When I find something tough and publicly proven to be difficult to obtain, and then someone suddenly in his chair starts doing few seconds magic to convince the world that it's truly easy, I find it very hard to accept such a concept. We are all aware that to win in gambling is sometimes accompanied by luck and skill, no one can sit on his wheel and tell me differently.
Even if you read the comments on the streams, if you are a curious person, you will find it hard to believe the games as genuine.

It's unethical but is not prohibited that's why they continue to promote. I'm sure there are people trying to expose them on their comments, I've read some of the comments given by the viewers which they are saying the strategy isn't working and that means they really tried what the streamer is doing. Victims are complaining.

Streamers continue to do it even after they changed their terms as twitch introduced restrictions on gambling-related links.

What makes it unethical? Watching those streams is a form of gambling since you know that if you follow the procedures, you will either lose or gain.
Actually, there are decent YouTubers that preserve their reputation and have taught many of their techniques, but I don't believe in following one's approach, only the foolish do so, and that's why they fall prey.

Tips: Loosing is part of gambling, you can't always outsmart the house or another player. Go with the vibes and learn yourself.

266  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: No late commer in cryptocurrency on: September 16, 2021, 09:41:15 PM
Yes no late commer in cryptocurrency. Cryptocurrency is an umbrella that can accommodate everyone. No regret about coming late into cryptocurrency. All things can be gain once you embrace cryptocurrency

Not everything can be of gained in Cryptocurrency, the manner we have possible gain is also the way we have potential loss, it's a dice, which means you're either up or down in a 50:50 chance.
Furthermore, just because a person is new to cryptocurrencies does not imply they should invest in altcoins because they believe bitcoin is overpriced.
No one is ever too late to enter into cryptocurrencies, but as a new user, prudence is essential, buying needless shitcoins will not only make you regret being here, but you will also have no taste for anything called investment.
267  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What we think is a quality post on: September 16, 2021, 09:27:24 PM
I consider a post to be good if it is interactive and contains some helpful information.
Some information appears to be extensive and difficult for users to understand, and I sometimes assume that the writer has wasted his time putting effort into writing without communicating.

Given merit to a post is subjective, and if the reader does not like or have interest in your post, they will simply disregard it, they will not even verge on making replies, contributions or corrections, which is the basis of why we are all here as in a Forum.
268  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greatest Gambling Losers on: September 16, 2021, 06:49:08 PM
I will never use the word Greatest in this part , Losers never become greatest mate that is a contradicting word  Grin

but those are surely the worst gamblers recorded and not greatest  Grin

The topic piqued my interest, how could one loss be the greatest, that should be like worse loser as the topics misrepresented the contents.

On the contrary, gambling is a mystic addiction that is always difficult to overcome, I still find it difficult to accept a loss on my $20 deposit on every spinning in an online casino, let alone betting thousands and millions of dollars, I will collapse if I am in any of their shoes, but I trust myself because I know my risk limits.
269  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: G A M B L E R S ❗❗ What are your thoughts on this? on: September 16, 2021, 06:36:40 PM
so, the thread is an advertisement?

Perhaps the OP is attempting to ascertain people's opinions in order to further investigate gambling, it's more about generating income by user pleasure; it's more like a survey than advertising.

For me, it's Casino B, at the least I don't make the house rich with those games since it's the players that takes the wins and not the house plus, you have more chance of winning in a skill based game compared to a odd based game plus you make the house much fatter.

Your thoughts on the options are kinda funny, I would have gone for option A if it was profitable in nature and not to make anyone rich, who cares who loses and who wins in casino, its all about beating the opponent, the house or partner gain or loss will never be my concern, which is why I believe everyone is going with option B.
270  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: [scalpers] Don't just join a moving train on: September 15, 2021, 11:37:39 PM
Scalping is one type of Trading where traders trade based on the direction of a particular candle stick waiting to take profit once the candle makes a little move above the entry point. This Trading technique can be very attractive and fast way to make profit but it can keep a trader stock mostly when the decide to scalp at the end of a trend and get carried away by it's volatility.

That's a dumb move that will hurt any trader involving in such kinds of trades, the only time I jump into trade like this is when I enter the market and I realize that the entire market has serious dump like the similar one that occurred on the day Els Salvador announced Bitcoin as legal tender, that kind of situation aren't meant trader to be doing support and resistance, I buy all the red until I'm become out of fiat and sells back the moment market stabilize and the profits are always good.  Kiss Kiss

Quote
Just imagine joining a train when it's has gotten to it's final destination. Certainly it would have to take you back to it's original stating point before it got to where you meet it. Most scalpers I know don't trade the obvious the just follow the candle volatility. From my observation I discovered scalpers avoid stop loss because the are scared of been stopped out of a trade too early only for the trade to end up going in their direction.

Scalping is one kind of trading that requires your smartness to know when to take the available profit and close your trade

Scalping is good way to make cool bucks without doing much but I find it hard to leave my trade more than 4 hours, I don't get comfortable except the situation I highlighted above, I.e when the market has seriously dump, it will be hard to make an instant profits except if there is high volatility for fast moves. This has help me stay out of market making U turn against my trades, I go into market, makes some profit and then I'm out safely, no one gets hurt. Cool
271  Economy / Economics / Re: Ways to avoid being scammed!!! on: September 15, 2021, 11:19:41 PM
Scams and fraud have become a major issue in society, and I've noticed that no matter how careful you are, they will keep coming. The simple thing I keep doing is to avoid and block them in any place I see them.
Some of the recommendations you highlighted are very good, but scammers always go for the trending places because that's where they know it's easier to find the naive ones. The ones you mentioned are outdated, but it's good for reminding people with such things because it keeps them on guard and prevents them from leaving things some things to the public.
272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Guidance to trade altcoin on: September 15, 2021, 02:46:56 PM
I want to trade altcoin but I don't know the very coin that will exist and have future. I need guildance to take this step

Many have given all the necessary advice but here is another thing you should put in mind.
Altcoins are difficult to trade because of high volatility they possess for long period of time, it's always difficult to hold supports and resistances unlike the Bitcoin and other high level coin on market cap.
Though, you can choose to scalp them especially when they are fundamentally bullish, it's so profitable to easily roll in and out of the market but be cautious of that as well.
Avoid shitcoins, they get pump hard but the reverse will send you bad image of trading, you wouldn't want to try them. Gold luck.

Tip: Don't forget reward/risk ratio, it's very essential in every trade.
273  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: September 15, 2021, 02:23:54 PM
To Ronaldo it is all about the goals as he knows that is somewhere he can achieve all that is achievable. Which is why he left play making for goal scoring. It seems the older he gets the more hungry he becomes.
well i don't think it's all about goals, didn't you see him celebrating after his team mates scored ?! of course he wants to score goals more and more, and almost every player want to do that but they just can't, Man united's goal is the premier league this year and i believe with the coming of Ronaldo they can do it, they are even in the first spot now.

There is no doubting the quality of Ronaldo who has a lot of experience, I feel that MU's chances are wide open this year to become the premier league champion with a superstar like Ronaldo who is in this team as a differentiator.

Many fans believe CR7 is still the same player they remember, despite the fact that he is clearly trying to resurrect his career. His post-game comments were ridiculous and counterproductive, and that is the difference between him and Messi.
It would have been acceptable if they had lost to Newcastle and won against Young Boys, but that was not the case, which was unfortunate.
The pressure from Young b was obvious against Man u; don't criticize me because they got red card, at the very least, he should have shown to be a compatible alternative for the public when they were playing 10 against 11 but you know, he is always waiting for the ball to be pass so he can net it in. Poor Man U
274  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- Group Stage! on: September 15, 2021, 01:07:04 PM
I think that Barcelona have near zero chance to win the Champions League title. They don't have the worst starting eleven of course but their game plan is really weak. The players are struggling a lot against serious opponents like Bayern Munich. But Koeman still believes that the club can achieve titles with him.  Grin

It's still early to conclude that Barcelona has little chance in winning the champions league, it's their first loss and I'm very sure they saw that coming after their demi god Messi who have always been their shield against opponents left the club.
The directors has held a meeting after the first loss, I hope they don't make a substitute to Ronald Koeman, it will be a tearing time for Barcelona, It's too early to point out big moves through.
Messi right now will be watching and smiling in 3D   Grin Grin
275  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fate or lack of control - Gambling on: September 14, 2021, 10:46:48 PM
We do not have to force them, but we can advise them, especially if they are in trouble. Yes, it is hard to recover from the addiction to gambling, but we should try for them so they know that we care for them and want to help them solve their problem. I am sure we can cure the addicted because everyone does not want to have the worst experience. The first thing that we should do is change their habits daily, giving them a new habit to do.

Closeness to a gambler is essential, and offering advice to a gambler who has lost is one of the most difficult things to do. A gambler does not listen to anybody, but because they are closer to loved ones, they will always listen to them, with the exception of those who have fully lost.
I've met a gambler who would listen to anyone's advice, but as soon as they attempt to assist them to get back on their feet, they generally go back to gambling, believing they'll try again, and the cycle continues.
They are always like, trust let me try this the last time and because of eagerness and greediness, strategies are usually lost.
276  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Concern about the the problem of online underaged gamblers. on: September 14, 2021, 10:26:06 PM
Most of these casinos and gambling pop up advertisements have small user bases at times, they therefore always try to expand the number of players. Ads are meant to be based on user activity, yet I receive them all the time when I don't usually participate. Ita kind of weird that you need to keep skipping them all the time.
Another problem with these casinos and gambling websites is that they will allow underage ones to register even though they are completely aware of their age, they will allow them to make bets, when they lose, they will take the money away, but when they win, it becomes difficult to cash out, that's when they remember user policy.

Well as a parent, if you keep reporting the ads, at a point, they will stop because it's among ads policy not to tailor them to users who don't necessarily need them.

is this for real? a gambling site advertised directly in TV nationwide ? does your government really allows this when the TV shows and Ads must be at least concerned about younger generations?
lucky that my country does not allow this though internet is really a Shit source for children nowadays.
I used DStv and what that young man just pinout is correct, about advertising underage ads are done on TV mostly around the age of 13 and above and a clear warning is always written if parental advice is required.
277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Common NFT scams and phony Telegram supports on: September 14, 2021, 04:04:27 PM
New trends often give rise to new scams, and with the introduction of Defi, fraudsters have utilized a plethora of tricks to entice people into trapping and stealing their money. NFTs are not new to us, but the desire for them and how valuable they are has lately gained the attention of many media outlets, which, as you know, is always a signal and new employment for fraudsters to start a new method of exploiting the uninformed ones.

NFT are one of the most in-demand Defi applications since they are scarce, unique, and because only one entity of them exists, those who value it will pay any amount to acquire it before anybody else. The values that come with them have enticed fraudsters to go to any length to get your money.

These are some of the more prevalent methods fraudsters have used to defraud users of their NFT arts.

Cloning of NFT markets: Because of the nature of NFT, they cannot be listed on exchanges in the same way that other coins and tokens are, therefore NFT are usually auctioned on prominent NFT marketplaces such as Opensea and Rarible. Some Defi projects make their own marketplace available to their investors and token holder but scammers always find their way out to clone these websites just like the conventional ways hackers do to online banking where they copy every feature of the bank and ask you to input your sensitive information and also credits, these are no way different in NFTs markets too, NFT markets script can be purchase online and they can clone them and make you purchase a fake NFTs in exchange for your ETH and BNB which are the popular networks that support NFTs.

Online Telegram support: You should be aware that Opensea does not offer telegram group chat assistance since it is difficult to maintain owing to the numerous impersonators and frauds that occur on the platform on a regular basis. Rarible used to have a Telegram group, however, it was later announced that they had migrated to Discord due to difficulties in controlling fraudsters and the amount of reported scams. If you are dealing with NFTs on those two largest NFT marketplaces, stay away from Telegram, if you have any problems, you may check the online support on their website, but you should also be wary about the website. Don't make complain on open social networks. it's no different from Telegram, except that Telegram has become a haven for fraudsters due to the rise of cryptocurrency.

As you can see from their official Twitter handle, you can only get support via their website or Discord, avoid telegram like you avoid a plague.

Regarding the rest of the projects that have their own NFT markets place, you should be aware that most admin will never send you a private message asking for private keys or any other sensitive information. Instead, tailor your problem to the appropriately tagged admin in the official group, and he/she may direct you on how to resolve the issues.

NFT giveaways: This never gets old, and I despise anything free. Airdrops were given out during the previous bull run where everyone received free tokens and coins from new projects, but that has changed recently. The only available airdrops you see around are mostly for promotion and for loyal investors, particularly those who stayed with projects during their early stages and those who invested in them. In some projects, the only method to obtain NFT is to hold their token and stake them in exchange, you get randomly picked for this NFTs airdrop. Don't lose your wallet for free stuff that doesn't worth it.

Avoid been associated with NFT projects because of Artists and celebrities: Artistes and celebrities, in general, are just regular people like you; this isn't the first time they've taken on new projects for the sake of a few checks, similar situations have occurred in the past, and they were later fined for getting followers invested in new projects, according to some reports from SEC website. This is not an exception, they will sell them to you and return to their way of life in the entertainment industry. Buy NFT from trustworthy organizations and projects that will provide you with security; don't buy items you will later regret; and even if you are following an artiste for NFT, you may make the mistake of purchasing the wrong NFT due to impersonators.

Fake Projects: Defi is a new place, and no regulations have been put in place to protect investors, so your chances of being scammed are quite high. Do your study and due diligence before transferring all of your funds in the name of an image that may end up in the hospital, scammers do not deserve your attention.

It's an interesting breakdown to digest, and you've done a nice job putting it up here.
I was looking for a thread you created about connected accounts, which you started on September 8th but was later achieved on this post, it contains a gif image visualization that links transactions between two users in the Ethereum network, I was hoping if there is something similar to that for Bitcoin transaction visualization website, I would appreciate a link.

Another question is how you were able to create a gif that is not broken like the one below; a link and guide would be helpful. Thanks.

279  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: G A M B L E R S !! What are your thoughts on this? on: September 13, 2021, 09:59:50 PM
A game should be fair, even if luck is sometimes part of what makes it entertaining. I'll go with B since I don't want to risk with other factors that may or may not favor one of us. If I play using my skills, I have a fair and high probability of winning because my experience and observations are based on them.
Playing against an opponent gives me an advantage in determining my opponent's next move and plans, but playing a game with the house is always a no for me because only a few players emerged as winners.
280  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Increasing bitcoin throughput without centralization on: September 13, 2021, 09:14:36 PM
..snip..
As of today the lightning network is rather decentralized:
https://explorer.acinq.co/

There will always be some nodes that have more channels than others (e.g. exchanges and payment gateways) however the rest of the network doesn't necessarily rely on them so the threat of centralization seems rather limited.

I became fascinated with the lightning network after watching a Coin Bureau YouTube review about everything you need to know about the lightning network here. It was an interesting review until he got to the part where he was talking about the disadvantages, and I was curious why adoption was associated with centralization. It will be disappointing if transaction throughput can only be scaled in a centralized manner, raising the issue of intermediaries in the Bitcoin Network.

How would Taproot lead to more centralization?

The first question lead to the second one, pardon the ignorant question.
