261  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Looking to buy approximately 20 BTC - meetup in Oregon? on: September 21, 2015, 01:16:34 AM
What happens if the police see the money traded they can take it on probable cause lol..

I would prefer that risk than the alternative.  Ultimately, if both parties consensually transact and there are no illegal goods, there isn't a problem.
Are you sure?  Isn't there a restriction on how much you can trade in fiat value in one transaction without "filing" it?

Not that I'm aware of and I work for a bank...

If I bought a car for $100,000, I wouldn't have to file it, except with the IRS eventually.  Who is to say I would do that w/ a Bitcoin transaction.  There is nothing illegal about buying BTC with cash.

This is really stupid question.
Some of the threads here strike me as being made while someone is on social auto-pilot.
265  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] KNC Titan 300MH/s Scrypt ASIC miner. on: September 20, 2015, 11:26:43 PM
Jesus - I didn't realize the Titans are still worth that much.  I was going to sell mine for considerably less about a month or two ago.
Good luck with your sale.

No BTC - holding scrypt coins though.
268  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Quick & Dirty tutorial for Armory & Tor? on: September 20, 2015, 10:18:28 PM
So I have Tor, though I don't use it often.  I am wondering how I can strap Armory/Bitcoin to use Tor.
Is there any instruction out there for this that is straight forward?

Would really appreciate assistance!

Open Bitcoin Core and configure Network Settings to connect through Tor. Here are settings if you use Tor Browser to connect to Tor.

You will then have to start Tor Browser and leave it running for Bitcoin Core to connect. Use port 9050 if using Tor daemon instead of Tor Browser bundle.

Thank you!
How do you test that it's working?
269  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: September 20, 2015, 09:16:29 PM
I remember investing with these guys on Bitfunder (I think it was called that.. it was years ago).

I remember owning like 30 shares when they hit 5 BTC a piece.  Decided to hold on to them until the end.

A bit of a regrettable decision.  I hold less BTC now than I did when I was investing in stupid securities.
Sad to think where I'd be if I hadn't been scammed years ago.

True this.  But at the same time, it's more anonymous than the alternatives.

I'd like to do a transaction face-to-face so as to avoid the plagues of online transactionry.
I live near Portland - does anyone have 20BTC they would like to sell for USD (cash).

We would meet up at a police station parking lot or at a Starbucks, I would need some extensive proof that you're not going to pull a fast one (some sort of ID or something).

Not looking for one or two BTC, looking to do one large transaction.

Thanks!!

PS: I also have a ton of LTC I would be willing to trade if you're into that.
273  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: chief economist Bank of England: we need adopt a digital currency like Bitcoin on: September 20, 2015, 07:09:12 PM
I think BTC will start really taking off once it gets rolled into popular ETFs and Mutual Funds.
Looking forward to that day!
274  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BTCrow.com e-mail scam attempt on: September 02, 2015, 01:36:11 AM
last time I checked people dont sites like those.

And people are more towards on the forum with a high reputable escrow list that have a green rep with high #`s to avoid this.

The problem is that even those "high" on the reputable list have been shown to be thiefs.

Go with your gut and dot your Is and cross your Ts.  I've had a number of people try to scam me but I can read them really easily.
275  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Need miners, 2 BTC budget. on: August 21, 2015, 03:50:19 AM
I need miners.

Does not matter which ones it is, Scrypt or Sha-256. Anything.
Efficiency does not matter either.

All miners!!

Throw offers and lets make some deals.

Payment method: Bitcoin.

Miners needs  to be within EU, or else you will get the Tax/Customs fines.

Hi all,

I have 4 fully functioning Titans I'm looking to offload.
I live in Oregon but can meet up if required (public location only).

6BTC for the set, not including PSU.  They have been living in an AC'd storage room since I received them.  I'm the original owner.

Questions / inquiries, PM
I work 8-4 so please respect me being AFK during those times... Wink

279  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How is bitcoin better than litecoin? on: June 25, 2015, 05:16:29 AM
Bitcoin isn't better it's just adopted and taken better by the mainstream.  Bitcoin could easily be Litecoin and we'd be in the same position, but Bitcoin reached the market first.

Just my thoughts though.
