261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FIX THE MONEY - FIX THE WORLD #Bitcoin on: February 24, 2023, 07:21:18 PM
It should actually say... "Fix the governments and then fix the money" ...because governments are at the core of the problem with money. They are the main cause of inflation and hyper inflation, due to poor economic policies and bad implementation of these policies.  Angry
You are 1000% correct but believe it or not its near impossible to fix the whole government in a country politic is number one
Fixing the government is actually quite easy, we just don't do it unfortunately. You just elect people who are honest and not corrupt and you end up with a good nation.

There are plenty of nations that does this, they check a politician and if their promises align with being better for the nation they elect that person, but 99% of the worlds countries elect people who would be bad towards their opponents, if you are left wing you elect someone who hates right wing, if you are right wing you elect someone who hates left wing, nobody elects someone who loves everyone, left right rich poor old young, we need to elect someone who loves them all, and hates nobody.
262  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: February 24, 2023, 03:12:00 PM
We will see how Barcelona takes things now that they have left the Europa League, they will focus only on La Liga.

Quote
Barcelona appear to have agreed to a new contract for one of their veterans, with a deal set to be signed on Tuesday, According to Sport, amongst multiple sources, Sergi Roberto will sign a new deal on Tuesday.

The 31-year-old signed a new contract on a vastly reduced wage last season, after his deal had expired at the club. There was plenty of speculation about whether Barcelona should retain Roberto, but Xavi Hernandez has defended him staunchly throughout his tenure as manager
As of today Barcelona is the winner of la liga without a doubt, no doubt about it at all. Because Real will keep on playing at UCL, they won't be losing to Liverpool by 3+ goals, so they are going to next stage and still have to play in the cup and all that, whereas Barcelona only needs to care about the league at this moment, and could rest their players during these periods and could only make them play the league games which they will be basically 100% ready for each time. It is not something to be happy about, they would rather win the Europa cup if they could, but it definitely guaranteed their title in my mind, no way they can lose it now.
263  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Turkish Super League 2022/23 Season on: February 23, 2023, 08:26:49 PM
The worst thing is that these earthquakes obviously don't stop and they are coming up again and again. Not as strong as this biggest one was, but still strong enough to kill people. I think many of the players who come from somewhere else also have a family they must protect. Switching gears mentally is brutally hard, but for some people the sport might be the best medicine to quickly recover.

Are there reliable sources that provide information in how far soccer players and soccer teams have been affected?

The whole catastrophe reminds me of the Munich Air Disaster when the Manchester United team was on board and crashed and 8 players and 3 staff guys died. I have never watched the full documentary about it, but when I read your comments here the question really arises how players deal with death of their teammates afterward and how fast these clubs return to business as usual.
Yeah, this was bigger than an air crash, because there were 50k+ people dead, probably more. Imagine living in a city where 50+ thousand people died, how would you feel if that happened and you barely survived in a city with that many dead people, I am not even talking about injured people who are alive, that's in 100+ thousand level easily, and millions who do not even have a home, MILLIONS.

This is going to take so much out of these players, no gardener will be able to go back to gardening anytime soon, no lawyer, no student, no teacher, no accountant, doesn't matter what job you were doing, if you got out of there relatively healthy, it will take a while for the psychological issues to calm down.
264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is currently the best crypto to invest in? on: February 23, 2023, 07:04:59 PM
Bitcoin is the primary coin while ETH is next to it so if you invest in these coins then you made a right choice. But as others have pointed out already, don't just blindly invest or rely in our suggestions because it's not wise to enter in any investment opportunity without knowledge about it. So always do your diligent research to avoid committing mistakes.
I agree that if you can't make a guess or prediction by yourself and you have to rely on others to make it for you then it is not really a healthy investment to begin with. It would be much better if people could research all the coins they want, and make their own decisions if it will go up or not.

I personally just buy more and more bitcoin these days, and there is really not a lot of research required for it neither, it is mostly done by itself and you are not required to do a lot of research. It is going to go up, maybe not today, maybe not in another year too much, but it will go up, that is my own decision and my own prediction and I invest accordingly.
265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: February 23, 2023, 05:04:49 PM
PSG are of course the favourite side however the odd gap is not too high either. Marseille are the home team which is a big factor for that. Besides Marseille have been doing a great job for many weeks as well. They have been able to maintain the five-point difference thanks to a good form. It is lovely to see this title race alive as well because we aren't used to see this often. PSG have mostly dominated the league for so many years.

You know that Marseille defeated PSG in the Coupe de France a few weeks before. It isn't impossible for them to do this again as well of course. Besides PSG have had problems against this kind of teams in away matches so far. It is better to be careful before betting on PSG I think.
if you want playing safe, bet draw is good. that's the most likely result if compare in the last match from both team. but for sure, it's not bet suggestion. I most likely to do that when I look how PSG performance is look decrease after the middle on stage. While Marseille is look increase in slow but sure. And, the competition is interesting to wait if the different point is not too far, like 2 different point.
People lost their belief in PSG by the looks of it. I still think that in ANY game that PSG plays, betting against their win is not really a safe bet. I believe that they will either win it easily, or they will have a shocking result which is a draw or even a loss, which happens time to time and not impossible but looking at overall rate, winning is still the most likely thing that they do.

They played 7 games in UCL so far, winning 4 of them, 2 draws and recently got their first loss, played 24 games in ligue 1, won 18 of them, got 3 draws and 3 losses. Which comes down to 31 makes, 22 wins, good enough rate that they mostly win, and I would bet they could again.
266  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can we experience $80k this year? on: February 23, 2023, 10:33:15 AM
80k this year is a 1% outcome certainly less then 10% because it requires far more accumulation and run up then we actually have under way.  Yes we started the year off to a good start but for a target like this you will get a considerable amount of selling along the way.  Even with selling we can get to 80k of course but with that decay from momentum upwards you require more power to BTC run up then what we have.  I prefer the person who said is this like 2019, the sharp move up then back down; this is more probable then straight upwards.  My guess is still consolidation, foundation building.
Straight up is a rocket trajectory, then we explode at the top with fireworks and descend with little support.   Dont mourn the lack of 80k when the full picture is that the nature of how we get there is more important.   People who focus on big numbers have one objective at that target, to sell but problem is so does every other share participant in that race.  It become a treadmill or carrot and stick type of feedback scenario that is really negative.  BTC can be alot more then just a price or trade, the regular usage is a ton more important and in the end profitable I think Smiley
Maybe it will go up a lot more? Maybe we will hit to a point where it is going to end up being a bit better? I mean think about it this way, we are not in a long term situation and all that, but we are in a situation where it could potentially increase.

We don't have enough accumulation for it? We may get it. We don't have enough media attention? We may get it. Whatever is the reason we may not reach 80k with how we are, we could change that if the bull starts. I am not saying that will happen, I believe that 30-40k range is all we are going to get this year, not 80k, and that is why I agree with you but the fact that it could happen is all I care about right now.
267  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: February 22, 2023, 07:21:24 PM
AIs are only dependent on the information it has at its disposal. The timeliness and relevance of the information it receives is important to the whole decision making and its prediction of the outcome. If for instance, the information and AI have isn't updated or is lacking, there's a high chance that you'll lose your bet dependent on the AI result. This is why if ever you really plan to use one in the future, you have to verify and still double check.

Using AI could mean better percentage of winning to some, but let's admit it that it doesn't guarantee a win so you should still learn how to decipher and read the situation. AI can be helpful to influence our decision making, but do not solely rely on it. You still have to at least possess some knowledge about what you are betting for, in order for you to have higher chance in winning.
This is why it is not really an intelligence and it's machine learning, which has been talked about a million times so far, I know, and it's definitely a sad situation that we do not have any AI technology at all, I would love to see one before I die, something that can think by itself and not need you to provide data to have information, it can think and come to its own conclusions and all, that's AI, this is just machine learning and nothing more.

But I agree that something regarding trading, investing, gambling, and many other things will happen in the future, even if it's machine learning, it will happen and it will be a lot of help to people who are having hard time doing it themselves.
268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best Crypto to buy for 2024 ? on: February 22, 2023, 06:10:21 PM
actually in my opinion bitcoin is better in my opinion which is of course very safe, but there is nothing wrong with investing in altcoins as long as they are altcoins that have good potential for the future, and my altcoin of choice is ethereum because ethereum is the strongest altcoin, which is in great demand by public,
and in my opinion ethereum is an altcoin that has a good future.
I think it would be smart to diversify carefully. Like you should have bitcoin just like you said, and that should be the biggest coin you hold, then a bit of ethereum and bnb and so forth, which would allow you to be in altcoin world but not low enough, and then you could spend a tiny amount, like 10-20% of your portfolio in those smaller ones, not all of that into just a single token though, I mean total, that way you would have like 2% of something small, and have 10 of them and it would be either very good for you in the future if it goes up, or if not then bitcoin will grow enough to not care about your losses eventually anyway, it will be more than 2x eventually and that will cover your losses.
269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: After FTX collapse, some call for a return to decentralized roots on: February 22, 2023, 05:06:01 PM
So you really believe that centralized exchange will return my money back if they will be stolen? Haha. It doesn't work like that anywhere. You have to be quite accurate as the only responsible person for your money is you. No one will ever deal with that.
On centralized exchanges, funds are usually insured. Therefore, investors do not need to worry about the safety of their assets. Thus, protect investors from many risks and unpredictability
Where do you read this? I've never heard of exchanges insuring their customers' funds. Some exchanges do have what they call insurance fund, like Binance, but it only amounts to a fraction of their total liabilities. So it won't protect customers from those risks and in general you shouldn't feel safe storing your assets in exchange.
This is common knowledge, you could always google it if you want, but this isn't true for many, specially for Binance, it's true for Kraken and Coinbase though. The thing is, it's not about insuring, but it's about the fact that it's on cold storage, at the same time we are talking about something "small" with FTX whereas something x100+ times bigger with Binance, you think it would be easy to collapse that?

They would have make a 10+ billion dollar mistake, you don't make that big of a mistake with that kind of money. Plus, all they have to do is not use our money to fund anything and they will be fine, they are making so much money as it is anyway, why do that.
270  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: February 22, 2023, 02:08:30 PM
This is something that can be interpreted in various ways, first of all for lifelong Barcelona fans, they know that Busquets is a key player to win and it gives him more stability and he can have or exert more pressure in the game, Xavi They have a lot of players that they bought a long time ago, they have to use them because otherwise they would run out of options to face the greats, they also have Real Madrid breathing close and Man United.

But what I believe is that BARCELONA has fought so hard, I don't think they are going to let themselves win now in these games that are so crucial, Barcelona is in the Europa League for the second time in a row, the fans deserve to be there at UCL.
I agree that Barcelona will try to do their best to win, and they have players to replace each other, and they have a manager that can change the tactic to suit whoever they have, which is a lot better and could work well for them. I know it is not going to be easy, and I know they rather have him in the long run, but it's going to be not an impossible task to get someone else to play there and do as well as they could.

We have seen them play so many different players this season due to injuries, and they still do so well, which I believe they will be capable of doing some more, be great at La Liga like they have been all season, and give United the hardest game of their season.
271  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: February 21, 2023, 12:08:21 PM
Manchester United has lost only one game out of eleven home games so far. Since Barcelona has to win it it's either through luck in a penalty shootout or they need a pretty good day to take this away from United.

Nantes vs. Juventus will be rough for Juventus I think. Nantes must be unbelievably motivated to brighten the final result of their season. If they make it against Juventus it is already a huge success for them. They are also still in the Coup de France and they are relatively safe from relegation in Ligue 1. The draw in Italy is now one big step to a great success story for them. I expect a strong fight from them.
Winning against all those other teams are understandable, winning against Barcelona is different. I am not saying United will lose or anything like that, they could still end up being the winners, but at the same time I am saying that this will be harder than almost all of those home games, because they are facing a team that by all accounts should have been in UCL and not europa, they are a very good team.

United of course got better as well and they are very good but that doesn't change the fact that both teams will face very tough opponents and we have no idea how it will end. I still root for Barcelona obviously, but have to say it's equal powers fighting.
272  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: February 21, 2023, 08:08:02 AM
Brazil are almost everytime the favorites and they fail to win, and i will still favor them in 2026 though, they have a decent young generation coming up , and by 2026 we might see two or more talents explode, they are a base of talented players which always give them a decent squad in almost every world cup they play in, they always have great talents in the team.
Brazil is one of those teams who are blessed to have an uninterrupted flow of younger talent, as far as football is concerned. During the 90s, they had Ronaldo, Leonardo and Cafu. A decade later it was the turn of Willian, Hulk and Fred. And now they have Neymar, Gabriel Jesus and Richarlison. By the time of the 2026 World Cup, it will be a different set of players. And one more thing that I have noticed is that while the players may come and go, there have been no complaints about their team bonding (unlike the case with some of the European teams).
I think it's about the culture, they never had a period where football wasn't the most important thing there, since Pele started, they had a great time and had winning teams or good teams, they may have not won in a while now but they have always been a candidate to win every single cup.

Next time, they will once again be like that, they will have players coming up being good at young side, and players like Neymar who will become mentor level age by that point being veterans of the club. All these players will keep coming up because their entire nation loves football and plays it everywhere they can, from kids age 6 to elderly age 60, they all play.
273  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bahrainian Hotel accepts bitcoin Payment on: February 21, 2023, 06:30:59 AM
This is kind of marketing to mention it as the world's first hotel to accept bitcoin and provide services. Already we've got good number of hotels and food chains that accept bitcoin into their businesses. Maybe this hotel falls under certain star category and on that list it is the first to accept bitcoin. A good move from the hotel management. Also I believe this hotel chain have got its hotels located in different countries. They should extend the service on its every property.
The fact is that expedia has been accepting bitcoin payments for many many years now, maybe it is not a hotel directly, but that means you could pay for many things using that. I have booked maybe close to half a dozen hotels so far, and all paid in bitcoin so far as well, been a great experience for myself. I have been using that for my vacations for maybe 5-6 years by now and I can say that it has never let me down.

There is a bit of an issue when it comes to reversing it, obviously when you cancel, then you need to wait for them to pay it back, and it's definitely a difficult one if you used an exchange to send, had a trouble there, but it has been available for over half a decade at least.
274  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First thing i will do if Bitcoin become legal tender globally on: February 20, 2023, 10:58:22 AM
But less volatility will be a disadvantage for those who are looking at it as an investment, without volatility, we would not be able to make a profit. We are on two sides in this market. One side that sees bitcoin as a payment method wants it to be a currency, so they don't like the volatility of bitcoin, one side sees bitcoin as an investment, and volatility is what they are looking for. I used to be a forex trader, and I was attracted to bitcoin because of its volatility, it made me more money than forex.
It's not so, you confuse trading and investing: of course traders like volatility as it gives an opportunity to play with waves, but investors prefer long term income and stability. If you want to keep your savings  for using them when you want you'll prefer a deflationary asset with low volatility as it will be more costly in the future at any time and not at the bull's top only. So we'll just see how one investors will replace another ones. And those ones who like volatility the most will just look for another asset to play with, they are not fond of bitcoin as for bitcoin. And if you look at the charts you can see that bitcoin is losing volatility with time, it is natural and will go on the same way.
I have to say, as a long term investor myself, I do not really care about the volatility. It wouldn't matter to me if the price was 60k today, like suddenly it moved up, it wouldn't really matter. Since I am going to hold no matter what the price is, and ı am going to be around in 10+ years, that means it doesn't matter what the price is today, it could be 10k or it could be 100k and I would still not consider that as any issue at all, and wouldn't care.

Of course not all long term investors are like me, some may prefer stability and less volatility, but I am not one of those guys, I am going to hold for many years, so how it moves right now doesn't really matter to me.
275  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 20, 2023, 09:37:22 AM
Latest update from Marcelo official social media account he was happy become part with Olympiacos although with short moment and I don't think have problem with the internal for leaving Olympiacos before his contract ended. Could be family problem but Marcelo not show to the public and want to make mutual contract then have to pay the penalty fees.
I think that familiy porblem could not even pushing marcelo move from olympiacos. It must be another problem. He is actually not happy with the club. It doesn't make sense marcelona was terminating his own contract and paid penalty for olympiacos if he was happy with the team. Marceloa has a different plan for that. I guess that it's about moving to the new club that he was interesting with.
It could be family problem, and not a big deal at the same time. Like for example this guy has been in Spain for most of his life, and he could be too adjusted there and maybe his kids and wife doesn't get on very well in Greece because they are not used to that. Sure Marcelo is a professional player and doesn't matter where he gets the money, but little kids can't really understand that, and could have trouble, I don't even know if he has kids to be fair.

Also about the Firmino deal, he hasn't been used by Liverpool for a while now, and even got snubbed by Brazil because of it, I think him moving to another team would be the best decision for him. I would have started him over Nunez any game, sad he is not liked anymore.
276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More Awareness needed, 100$ or Bitcoin??? on: February 19, 2023, 09:29:15 PM
Came across this video in which a person questions whether they prefer to take 100$ or Bitcoin. The kids never took time, all of the sudden chosen 100$. I'm not specific about the location this had taken place, but it looks like they're are Western people. This makes me think, awareness is not upto the mark and in all means we need to educate people. Even the Western young generation unaware of it is really unbelievable.

100$ or Bitcoin
Adoption is the thing that we need so much and if people still do not know the price of bitcoin then adoption is still quite far away. Bitcoin is such an important innovation of our age, and it has changed lives of millions of people, and yet there are over a billion people who do not even know the price of bitcoin and that has to change. What can we do to increase awareness about it?

Well, simply we could just do more marketing, since we won't do it as retail investors, it has to be crypto companies who should be doing a lot more marketing to increase awareness, they would be doing a lot better in the long run and should be profiting from it as much as possible.

Yup, most of the eps we are waiting.

Same in 2020 when Romain Grosjean can get out of the fire while he loses his consciousness for around 1-2 mins it's crazy he can survive from that. Same like Zhou, I can't believe the "HALO" still can hold that impact while I was thinking it can be broken.
---
It's completed now, "DTS" are gonna launch and all the teams already launch the cars. A nice news during this month!
That is one of the most anticipated stories for sure. For the viewers, what we got was how the crash happened, and then we saw him go hit the wall so hard, and then we saw him talking easily maybe like 30 minutes later at tops?

This means he got even checked out there, and then let go because he then left to hospital for further checks of course but he was literally uninjured and normal 30 minutes after, we saw that. I wonder what happened inside that 30 minutes, I want to know how they got to him and how they got him out and what did he do? Same with Romain Grosjean, that dude walked away from death itself, both of them looked like certain deaths unless there are so many hardcore safety precautions.
278  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anonymity vs. KYC: The Pros and Cons of Cryptocurrency Exchanges on: February 19, 2023, 05:19:24 PM
what are your thoughts on exchanges with and without KYC? Do you prefer exchanges with strict KYC requirements, or do you value anonymity and privacy more and prefer to use exchanges with little to no verification process? What are the disadvantages and advantages of each approach? And what measures do you take to ensure your anonymity when exchanging cryptocurrencies?
My preferences are less important compared to my requirements. I mean even I prefer to stay away from all KYC things, I am still enforced to clear KYC because my needs are seeming like more important than my preference of protecting my identity. I was trading in bittrex exchange and they suddenly locked my account and when I contacted their support, I was directed to clear KYC. I got no other option except submitting my documents to enable withdrawing my coins.

If I was not into bounty campaigns and if I was not into the need of exchanging altcoins and tokens to BTC then probably I would have stayed complete anonymous by now but after cleared KYC in one exchange then I started get used to it. Still, I use old and reputed exchanges. I am not thinking on future problems as of now.
279  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If it was you on: February 19, 2023, 02:12:56 PM
Spot can be a nice start for newbies from what i have seen from the market so far. Since it only entails buying and holding until the asset appreciates just that it will only require patience since little or no technical skill is needed although with technical skill the trader can have more advantage over the market.
But, it seems that you are missing out one of the important factor of considering the real potential of a coin because holding a shitcoin could never help you in any case. For the scenario of Bitcoin, spot trading is always seeming like profitable one because you are getting second chance of holding if the market direction is not moving in your favor. But this cannot be generalized for all the coins and tokens when it coming about the spot trading.

In precise, I like to the suggest you to go editing your open-post like spot trading is easier and profitable only for highly potential coin/token because holding is profitable only for potential things and not just for every asset.

The rising stars game was as boring as anticipated, these weird changes to scoring rules really made it even worse, it's like we are watching harlem globetrotters at this point, they are really not playing to win but that was understandable when it first started, like lack of defense and all that was fine, nowadays they are not only failing to win, but they are actually failing to entertain in a brand new way.

I think it is time to go back to old ways, just two teams, freshmans and sophomores, 12 minutes quarters, 4 quarters, decent coaches and all that. I know that may not be great neither, but it would certainly be much better than whatever this is.
