261  Other / Off-topic / Re: What's your way of spreading Bitcoin knowledge? on: June 20, 2017, 07:28:44 AM
Sharing with friends is one of the easy ways of spreading bitcoin knowledge and that is what I do. They can get easily your saying because they have trust in you especially when they just heard about word “bitcoin” and they become interested even my family I already told them they know that I’m working of this kind of stuff and they support me what I’m doing but they didn’t try bitcoin.I also used social media in spreading bitcoin knowledge, they ask me what I’m posting and I just tell them a just a few things
Friends, family and colleagues + associates from work are all good to share you bitcoin knowledge with.
It doesn't have to be specific or detailed info about BTC, in fact, it is better that you won't go into details to not scare & bore people.
The best way to make things interesting is to remark how BTC price is destined to grow, and how its design is better that 'standard' money.

262  Economy / Economics / Re: Are cryptocurrencies better than regular currency on: June 20, 2017, 07:17:18 AM
Honestly I believe bitcoin is better since one you don't use your credit card so you don't loose you needed cash but instead your cash that you could easily earn back from mining. Plus, it's open to all ages unlike credit cards.
This is not why cryptocurrencies are better. What you talk about here is current lack of regulation.
Do you think that in the future, when we will have, hopefully, massive adoption, minors will be able to use crypto to buy from merchants or use the services normally unavailable for them due to age restriction?
Kids can now use crytpo because there is not really regulation in place, we can use, create and do whatever we want with our tokens.

Mining of bitcoin is not really possible if you are a single miner. Other altcoins might be better to mine, but you can't use them directly as they are usually not accepted by any business.
263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] Coinbase ICO a Scam ? on: June 19, 2017, 09:05:27 AM
Where can I find out more info about this IPO? I tried to google for it but is seems there is no official announcement (I missed it?) only speculations.
And some of them are pretty darn old, so I don't think it is about the same project, for example, this article:
http://bankinnovation.net/2015/03/a-bitcoin-ipo-such-as-coinbase-could-trigger-mainstream-merchant-adoption/
264  Economy / Speculation / Re: How long will it be until the bitcoin price to usd starting decreasing? on: June 19, 2017, 08:48:35 AM
What I mean was how long will bitcoin keep going up in price of USD which is United States Dollars. I was wondering since it seems to be going up like the stock market once was. When something is going good, there is always a bad side to it
Are you asking when bitcoin price will stop to grow?

You see Bitcoin value increases over time by design, while every fiat money, dollar included is losing value, due to inflation every year.

It's hard to predict distant future. I don't think that we will see bitcoin price decline during our lifetime. But again, there are too many factors to include in this speculation.
265  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sold on: June 19, 2017, 08:38:18 AM
I sold about 10% of my stash. I'm not sure whether the bubble has burst or not, but I decided I'll take some profit (bought at sub $100). We might see $5000 or $10000 in the next few days, but I'm pretty sure the price will go down to $1500 (or even lower) at some point in the next few months or next year, and that's when I'll buy more. If that doesn't happen then it's fine, I'll invest in something else.

What do you think of my decision?
It is a good decision that you sold only 10% of your stash. If you would sell 100% that would be a bad move.
As you said there is a very high chance that we will see $10000 in the future, but I don't expect that happen in the few next days.
I am sure that after next halving price of Bitcoin will be around $15000-$2000 - of course if nothing crazy would happen in the meantime, for example scaling upgrade fail.
266  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Africa should be nuked, all evil originated there on: June 18, 2017, 01:37:44 PM
All evil has originated in Africa, let's start cleaning up the planet.

What about the natural resources from the African continent? I don't think that Apple and Samsung may be able to build their smartphones without the Coltan from the Democratic Republic of Congo. And imagine what will happen to the coffee drinkers in the United States without the coffee beans from Kenya. And how the Swiss are going to make their chocolate without the cocoa beans from Ghana?
So now we care only about natural resources, and not about people living in Africa at all?
Exploitation of Africa will gonna soon end, probably we have less than a century before every natural resource in Africa will be gone.
There won't be Coltan in Congo, there won't be Gold or Diamonds in the Republic of South Africa.
And climate will change to the point that growing any crops in Africa will be impossible.
I wonder what will Apple and Samsung do when there won't be easy access to coltan in the future.
267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why ETC/LTC is now so overvalued on: June 18, 2017, 01:06:16 PM
I wonder myself what make ETC/LTC grow?
Both are cryptocurrency and people are looking to invest in crypto, some investors think that Bitcoin is alredy too expensive to buy therefore they seek for other 'solid' choices.
And here goes Litecoin and Ethereum, somewhat stable coins but not as 'overpriced' as Bitcoin.

ETC is not in any development , not in any national program or bank. It have absolutely no usage and it is garbage that allready cost more than 20$
ETC is a relic of lost war. It is more like mascot or lucky charm for people who refused to give up.

LTC the same garbage with copy-code from Bitcoin Core. And in fact FAKE Bitcoin clone copy.
One can argue that Litecoin is upgraded bitcoin and that Litecoin's initial distribution is equally as good as Bitcoin's.
After all, Lee didn't mine thousands of Litecoins for himself before the project even started.
268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [vDice.io]►Ethereum Blockchain Gambling►►**New & Awesome Version of Site on: June 18, 2017, 12:43:40 PM
I have also gone through it and found it quite interesting topic to discuss on. That might attract more interest to vdice but what vdice should focus on right now is to add few features like autoroll and more types of game aside just dice.
From what I learned about vDice technical background it is not possible for vDice to be as fast as centralized dice platform because every bet is linked with blockchain.
This feature is a double edged sword as vDice is both secured by blockchain and also bound to certain response time - which will limit autobet functionality.

269  Economy / Speculation / Re: btc head and shoulders? on: June 18, 2017, 12:25:18 PM
I am not convinced that standard market evaluation and indicators are the way to predict bitcoin's price movement.
Spotting head and shoulders trend is actually helping to understand price movement and set your trading strategy, but:

- it will not work all the time.
- target profit might never be hit
- and last by t not least, this pattern is very subjective to spot, some traders can see it some not.
270  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin price decreasing on: June 18, 2017, 11:33:45 AM
Guys, don't ever pay attention to small market correction, and yes it was a small correction because the price of BTC is already high.
Bitcoin's price is destined to go higher and higher, treat retracement periods as great opportunity when you can buy cheaper coins.
There are some reasons why bitcoin value must increase in the future, 2 main reasons: fiat will lose its value and physical cash will be slowly replaced by digital payments.
271  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 10 main mistakes of Bitcoin newbies on: June 17, 2017, 02:31:33 PM
99% mistakes of every bitcoin newbie could be mitigated if people would simply do their own due diligence before happily donating their bitcoin to obvious scammers.
Bitcoin is tool for smart people - or least people who are willing to learn something, if you want to be taken care of for your whole life and are scared of losing your money then stick with Bank.
Or PayPal - you can always ask for them to revoke your payment or open up a PayPal dispute there.
272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a Malfunctioning Prototype of Litecoin on: June 17, 2017, 02:21:59 PM
So we have bunch of litecoin holders in this thread angry that their favorite coin is forever number 2.
Let me tell you something: bitcoin can be upgraded to be much more effective; it is not all about the tech behind the coin.
We can create the best coin ever, without ICO, with no premine/instamine, totally transparent - do you think it would be popular?
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are ICOs are the new money maker on: June 17, 2017, 01:26:32 PM
The problem with ICO is that there are really amazing projects mixed with trash and useless initiatives, which have nothing to do with blockchain.
There is nothing that we can do when both: the good one and scammy one both will decide to take advantage of ICO and use this method as a mainstay for their project.

In short, good ICO backed by reputable team of developers with clear vision, creating project with unique features can be a moneymaking machine.

or

You can find bad ICO with idiots or pure scamers behind it. The line between these two is blurry and scammers are more and more cocky and sophisticated.
274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does anyone truly understand Ethereum? on: June 17, 2017, 01:08:34 PM
Ethereum is currently only this big project because it is primarily used as platform to host ICO sales.
Without ICO craze which seems to be in fashion recently Ethereum wouldn't be that popular at all.
For now ETH might be a good way to establish smart contract but that is not something exclusive tech.
Bitcoin will have smart contract functionality too when Rootstock will be introduced in the future.
275  Economy / Economics / Re: What prevents companies from "losing" money in crypto? on: June 17, 2017, 12:34:35 PM
But I am just wondering, what is preventing companies to invest big in Bitcoins and then pretend that someone stole their private key and stole the funds, but in reality they just send the coins and exchange them through a bunch of different currencies and Monero etc that is "impossible" to trace? Will there not be a lot of money lost this way? I mean hacks etc are happening all the time so how would someone prove they did not get hacked?
A company can't buy bitcoin just like that because they think it is nice to have. There need to be whole business plan associated with buying bitcoin, storing and managing it.
The purchase needs to be documented, and some sort of countermeasures set. Bitcoin is not some regulated asset and most money mangers can't touch it.
Buying bitcoin by some company can be compared to buying Baseball cards just because someone at the company thinks that they are cool.
276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We need to rethink the way we look at 1 BTC value... on: June 17, 2017, 12:15:09 PM
The thing is newbies will get it in the hard way especially now that they can't do small transactions since fees will surely eat up their hard earned Bitcoin. Now that's sad. But it is not impossible since it really is feasible to achieve 1 BTC as long as you have the determination and eager to learn more as to how you will earn more.
Fees are not that ridiculous, they are high but if you didn't collect dust in your wallet you will manage. If you don't need to use BTC so wait for the scaling solution to be implemented.
Bitcoin upgrade which awaits us in the second half of the year hopefully will reduce fee rates significantly. Util then use bitcoin as emergency payment method only.
277  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dead cat bounce? on: June 17, 2017, 12:03:23 PM
Don't think so.
Check twitter. More and more miners agree to SegWit2x. And is this is compatible with BIP148 now the community will get SegWit as it was planned. No modifications. Bifury, BTCC, F2Pool, ViaBTC have all agreed so far.
Imo we will continue moving up again. Of course some dips always possible.
I believe this whole dump was orchestrated by (some) miners and probably a few whales to make some big money before moving forward.
Bitmain's shitty announcement and HF threat, then the massive dump. Now they load up, pumped the market again and announced support for SegWit.Antpool, Bitmain will be the last to signal for SegWit2x imo, but they will.
Woooww, it is a good news then. Could you give some profile links where I can follow them (miners) on Twitter?
I just thought this dump because some people get tired of all of this bitcoin drama and problems, trying to cash out their investment into fiat money or buy another coin which has steady increases, looking for another profits.
But, bitcoin could recover faster than I thought and it is already set at $2500 today. If miners really agreed about segwit, then bitcoin could be in rally again and break $3000 soon.
This is all true. I always though that Bitcoin can't be damaged only from the inside.
Lack of consensus which can be accepted by major mining pool and different visions of bitcoin scaling was always the biggest factor influencing the price.
I expect that there will be major crash of price right before scaling upgrade will be initiated, just because users will panic that something might go wrong.
278  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where to invest my 20 BTC (lifesavings) on: June 17, 2017, 11:44:05 AM
Poloniex Lending gives you 3-5% per month. You are "only" risking your whole stash to an exchange.
Which is a lot considering that bitcoin/altcoin exchanges are not exactly the most secure services.
Even the biggest exchanges could fall: MtGox collapse and Bitfinex hack when over 120,000 Bitcoins was stolen.

Op, just keeping your bitcoin and not risking anything could give you over 150% profit per year, is this not enough for you?
Why risk it for additional 2%-3%?
279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about SONM on: June 15, 2017, 07:47:49 PM
SONM = great premise and poor execution. So far this ICO is a total disaster and mess. It is sad that project so interesting had a start so messed up.
Yet another reason to finally understand that ICO tokens are nothing more that unsecured and poorly issued liabilities.
Additionally ICO team is not responsible for providing any insurance in case of bad management or project failure.
280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Every ICO can F*ck off, especially SONM. on: June 15, 2017, 06:34:55 PM
ICOs should be either regulated and bounded to follow some rules to protect investors or should be forbidden.
There is no way that you can invest into something which offers no investor protection.
Greedy investors are unable to comprehend what risk they've agreed to by trusting their money to ICO managers.
There is rarely any innovation these days and certainly no decentralization.
