261  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance app is no longer available in Philippines. on: April 24, 2024, 12:30:36 AM
Also, I'm assuming if you're a local who managed to install the app before the removal or through other means, then, it will still work, no? -- without altering IP
I read in news that those that have the app already were still able to access the exchanges in India. Also as Nigeria blocked the websites of the exchanges, they can access it through the app. I think those in Philippine that has the app already will still be able to access it.
262  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Bitcoin is fungible? on: April 23, 2024, 11:42:17 AM
Fungibility by law means a commodity or a product that is replaceable by another item similar to the commodity or product. Bitcoin is fungible and can be bought. Bitcoin has all the characteristics of what we can described as fungible. This should not be about tainted coin or comparing it with monero. This should not even be a matter of argument.
263  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to properly report a post to the moderators? on: April 23, 2024, 10:13:47 AM
I don't think the moderators are going to do anything with such report because the forum does not moderate scams.
Start to report scam posts and see that they are deleted if the moderator see it also as scam. But there are few that are left, this is when some people have posted on the scam thread with warnings that people should avoid the person because he is a scammer. Even moderator still always take some down despite the post warning of other members. Scam is not moderated is just a warning for people to avoid scam by all possible means and that the scammer will not be banned, but his posts can be deleted despite the warning.
264  Economy / Exchanges / Decentralized exchanges with lightning network on: April 23, 2024, 10:08:57 AM
I do not like how the bitcoin mempool is since many months ago. I was able to cope but not anymore. We can see lightning network on some centralized exchanges but how about decentralized exchanges? I need a decentralized exchange that I can exchange to fiat that is having good reputation and supporting lightning network.
265  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How possible can a forum memeber visiting foreign local board here? on: April 23, 2024, 09:35:53 AM
Is there any penalty resultant of a bitcointalk forum memeber to double Cross in accessing and also contributing to foreigners local board discussions?
No penalty if you know how to speak and write their local. If you are using a translator, you violate one of the rules of Bitcointalk.

27. Using automated translation tools to post translated content in Local boards is not allowed.

267  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to properly report a post to the moderators? on: April 23, 2024, 07:48:35 AM
If it is made on a wrong board, you can just report 'move to altcoin board' etc or mention the board you want it to be moved to.
If it is plagiarism, just report 'plagiarism'. The moderator will find it easy to understand.
If it is spam, just report 'spamming'
If it is off-topic, just report 'off-topic'
If it is scam, just report 'scam'

These are the common ones.

Make the report as short as possible so that moderators will easily understand and not see it exhausting.
268  Economy / Reputation / Re: Resurrection of old accounts on: April 22, 2024, 11:08:00 PM
If the person wants me to remove the red trust, I will tell him that I will remove it but based on two criteria. The first is that he will let me monitor his account for weeks to know if truly he has actually changed. The second is that he is going to sign a message with his bitcoin address and put today's date or he can go for PGP encryption if he has a PGP public key on this forum. If he pass both, I will consider him.

But red trust can be different. There are some red trust that I can not remove. Example is someone that I tagged red for scam attempt. I can not remove that type of red trust.

270  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] BestChange Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ on: April 22, 2024, 08:48:59 PM
I think that there will be no violation of the rules if the payment is made in Wrapped Bitcoin (wBTC), which, if desired, can be easily exchanged for BTC. I understand the difference between Wrapped Bitcoin and BTC well, so it's not worth opening a discussion about it here.
Wrapped bitcoin is an altcoin. Other ones that are also pegged with bitcoin price are altcoins.
271  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why the Reluctance? on: April 22, 2024, 03:43:10 PM
You aren't following up, it is becoming a big concern to the government about how billions of naira is going into gambling in Nigeria, I heard it myself and they promise to make it stop, someway or somehow, they never said.
Let your government in Nigeria be deceiving you. What proof do they have? Most Nigerians are using local gambling sites. You can even see that on this forum as some of Nigerian posters will win betting and post the image they snapped on the gambling site here. You will see that it is their local gambling site that they are using most.
272  Economy / Reputation / Re: Jollygood is a person who feels great, even though he is just a narcissistic on: April 22, 2024, 12:24:44 PM
On the signature campaign that I am presently, someone came to accuse BitcoinGirl.Club and making reference to the locked topic. If the thread was not locked, it is possible that the discussion may or may not favour Jollygood. If it does not favour Jollygood, that person will not come to troll on the campaign thread. It would have been better for Jollygood to leave the thread unlocked. I do not expect a reputable member to do what he did.
273  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is anybody disappointed after the BTC halving? on: April 22, 2024, 10:06:37 AM
Give it weeks or months. Do not think bitcoin price will just skyrocketed immediately. But halving was on 20th of April and today is 22nd of April. You want bitcoin to have increased significantly in just two days after halving? If you make findings about the previous halvings, you will see how you are wrong.
274  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Bitcoin Mining for Beginners on: April 22, 2024, 08:41:58 AM
What you will first consider is the miner that you want to buy. How much is it and what is its electricity consumption per hour. You will use that to calculate what will be the cost of the electricity it will use if you are using it to mine for certain period of time. You can see many mining profit calculator online which you can use for the calculation.

If you make the calculation and you see that you can make profit from it. I mean if you have cheap electricity, then you can consider to buy the miner or miners and setup the miners for mining. Then you will join a mining pool.

Know that ASICs are use to mine bitcoin. They are very expensive and make huge amount of noise. But there are ways you can reduce the noise.
275  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Streaming community are getting worst!!! on: April 22, 2024, 08:06:39 AM
I don't think they sell their dignity.

What if they're actually a gambler, but choose to not publicity if they're a gambler because there's no point for doing it if they didn't get paid,
Even if they are not gamblers but understand about gambling, they are not selling their dignity. They even understand about gambling. The OP is putting on Bitvest signature campaign signature which is also an ad, does that means he also has no dignity? Business is business. Streamers see it as a way of making money and they go for it. It is also legal.
276  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] MetaWin.com Signature Campaign | The First WEB3 Casino | Sr Member+ on: April 22, 2024, 04:30:07 AM
Yes, I think at least in the first post he is on topic, because he raises whether a person in this campaign should remain or not, which you can disagree with but I think it is relevant to this thread.
Do you not understand what trolling is? That person knows what he is doing and knows BitcoinGirl.Club very well. Definitely he does nothing than trolling.
277  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Understanding the Impact of Social Media in Gambling. on: April 21, 2024, 07:09:47 PM
It may be about freedom. Freedom is important to me. Freedom without accountability is disastrous. The best tool is the internet. Make wise use of it. We owe future generations. We must demand better and protect our children. This isnt political. About common sense.
But in most countries in this world, what those influencers card about is their pockets. They do not care about any children so far it is not their children. The government that supposed to care also do not care because of the money they are seeing from gambling sites. The government only care about the tax. Who cares are the parents. Parents should find all possible means to discipline their children and let them know how gambling is dangerous, promising false hope of money but which will drive them to losses. With the advise, the children will know that the money they can not afford to lose should not be used to gamble.
278  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Safe is 12-mnemonic seed Phase against brutefoce on: April 21, 2024, 02:57:46 PM
Yep, it's disappointing Sad Seeing BS on the tech boards from Newbies is one thing, but this is even more worrying. What makes it worse, is that they don't even edit their post after realizing they were wrong. Apparently those signature payments are more important than posting correct information for others who read this topic later.
We are here to gain knowledge from each other. After you corrected me, I accepted because your point is true that not all hardware wallets are cold wallets. I did not think of editing the post but you think it is better to edit it and I have edited it now and make reference to your post for further reading. It is good to have someone like you on this forum.
279  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Understanding the Impact of Social Media in Gambling. on: April 21, 2024, 09:17:28 AM
I think gambling based content is free for all on youtube and not flagged as 18+ and this indeed has a bad impact on the less than 18yr old population including all other sites that are doing the same.
This is true. But what about those betting shops also that have offices all around the town that young people can easily notice. If gambling advertisement is not regulated, there are more ways now that children can easily be exposed to gambling ads. In the world we are, we need to educate our children which is what that is best because they can not avoid gambling ads. I do not know of countries like US and EU but in Africa and Asia, the government of many countries in those later continents do not do anything against gambling ads. Children education concerning gambling is very important. How it is risky needs to be known by the children and teenagers.
280  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] BestChange Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ on: April 20, 2024, 09:57:17 PM
Currently ETH network seems to have the most fair fees. Right now its 9 Gwei and during the week it has an average of maybe 15-20 Gwei which would make the transaction cost about $0.50. The reason I choose ETH network is because most people here have used it at least once. The other networks such as Arbitrium, Lightning network, Solana, Tron, I suspect not everyone has used it here.
Lightning network has a better fee. Ether is an altcoin but Bestchange is a bitcoin signature campaign and not an altcoin campaign. There are many wallets and exchanges that make use of lightning network for payment. I am always surprised that lightning network is not used on this forum for paying for signature campaigns.
