261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Steem pyramid scheme revealed on: April 15, 2019, 06:54:30 PM
I don't think the dev team intentionally made Steem a pyramid scheme. But at the onset, the dynamics of the Steem ecosystem already indicates that it will favor the first to buy and and the largest holders.
262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS - Asynchronous Smart Contract Platform - (Dan Larimer of Bitshares/Steem) on: April 15, 2019, 02:32:11 PM
The fact that there was Bitshares and then Steem. How do I know there will be another blockchain platform after EOS? I assume no one knows for sure and will just make sense of events as they happen.
263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin is still productive on: April 14, 2019, 07:51:19 PM

And one major key for every cryptocurrency investor is patience and hold I repeat you your altcoin

You won't find anyone to listen to you. Falling market prices has scared most people here in this Bitcointalk forum. You see 90% of traders and investors fail and they fail miserably. It is so obvious that across all altcoin threads, they are filled with negative comments. It can't be helped.
264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scammers will go after IEO soon on: April 12, 2019, 06:53:49 AM
Scammers are going to have a hard time applying for a Initial Exchange Offering. They will be scrutinized more by the exchange owners because they have a reputation to protect.
265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Blockchain Ecosystems May Change the Face of Online Gambling on: April 11, 2019, 07:00:19 PM
Decentralized gambling will certainly solve the problem of fraud and lack of transparency in gambling. We still have a long way to go before it becomes very usable

The blockchain technology will get there. In fact a lot has changed since 2014, no one has a clue how programmable elements can be placed in a blockchain back then. Now's it's a reality
266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: future of NEO on: April 10, 2019, 08:14:32 PM
What NEO needs is an endorsement from the Communist Party of China. You see they have been banning non-Chinese cryptocurrencies and crypto trading paired with Renminbi. Now they are thinking about banning Bitcoin mining.
267  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the best Cryptocurrency to Invest? on: April 10, 2019, 03:31:34 PM
Invest in new innovative consensus protocols. Invest in faster blockchains and has potential to scale faster and better. Invest in active communities, it is a great indicator that someone will buy the coins in the markets.
268  Economy / Speculation / Re: Whales are back ? on: April 10, 2019, 10:37:37 AM
Of course, whales are back. You cannot increase trading volume if only retail traders are the ones coming in. The trading volume would just trickle in if there were no whales. Duh.
269  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 09, 2019, 10:34:21 PM
prepare for the dump?

Looks like it. Short squeeze apparently forming at $5,300.

Can't believe my eyes... a couple of consecutive bearish posts in WO thread?!? Shocked

Come on guys, let's not change the trend of being only bullish here!

Well, one thing is for sure. The price won't go beyond $6,000 level with one go. A lot of shorters waiting up there. It is an obvious spot to short being a long time support level last year.
270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] (QTUM) - A Scalable PoS Smart Contract Platform - MainNet Complete! on: April 09, 2019, 08:24:57 AM
i think they have been very active recently on the news.

https://qtum.org/zh/news

https://qtum.org/en/news

Some of them not exists in English version they should add these into this language too. Anyway we can use Chrome with translation option but good to see the team is very active.
It is strange that no one comments the weekly price increase from $ 2.8 to $ 3.6. Or was everyone ready for this and only for me was it a surprise?

Not strange at all. Don't you know many speculators and "get-rich-quick" daytraders have left the Bitcointalk forum? They never risk a trend reversal. You will only see them again during another parabolic move.
271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do I know the trustworthyness of a new coin? on: April 08, 2019, 08:06:58 PM
You really can't 100% trust anything. That's why it is very risky to participate in a new coin. But there lies the rub, it is the most profitable period to accumulate it if it becomes successful.

The best way is to research on the background of the main developers. Anonymous devs don't cut it anymore too.
272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Knowing when to sell off your crypto investment on: April 08, 2019, 05:53:16 PM
Fast forward to today am rekt and my investment is almost 92 percent gone.

It's the classic "It's popular now, I must join in the fun!" Everything that involves money and trends, it is always the laggards that suffer the biggest losses because the cheese stands alone.

Ponzi schemes and all markets function the same way because it's human nature to follow the herd.

What you should have done is wait for the market to crash before investing (not buy during December 2017!). Today might be the best time to invest. A year from now or two might be the best time to sell. You just have to wait for another parabolic price trend.
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shopping using crypto? on: April 06, 2019, 06:09:57 PM
Shopping with crypto? Basically, I have no experience even after five years of being into crypto. I did however paid for domain names using Bitcoin and Ethereum. But the biggest use of crypto for me was money transfers. I transferred fiat funds from one country to another without incurring any loss. It was possible because I was able to buy BTC cheaper and cashed out at a higher price.
274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] SPECTIV: VIRTUAL REALITY + DECENTRALIZED ADS - 10,000 ETH ICO! on: April 05, 2019, 06:55:35 AM
I would like to point out an excerpt from the Medium article in the post before this:

Quote
There are different types of business models that can make up a business. Once you find the mix that makes up your business, you look at what that mixture needs specifically and then you look at what Growth Stage the business is in (1.Empathy, 2.Stickiness, 3.Virality, 4.Revenue and 5.Scale) These two things will define what you should be focusing on.

In Spectivs case we have found to have a rather weird business model only possible thanks to current blockchain technology. On one side we have the Crypto world and in the other we have the VR world. Each has its own way of growth, yet because of the nature of this business they have to grow together. But the thing is that each side has to be cared for differently, complicating things a little.

Our VR side needs to grow like a User Generated Content Business (UGC) and needs to focus on keeping people around while solidifying the product ( Stickiness Stage, in which we are striving for our consumers wanting to use our platform for long periods of time while also constantly wanting to come back). To grasp what I mean by a UGC business, think of all those businesses that require a community of content creators to feed the core of the business by generating content. A few examples are businesses like Reddit, Youtube, 9gag, facebook, twitter and others.

Yes, it's true. Spectiv is not just UGC but has a crypto aspect as well. But I always believe in "build it, they will come." Starting something usable now and then just expand it by adding more features. Start it ASAP before potential users lose interest.
275  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-04-03] Bitcoin's Recent Renaissance Could Be Linked to Algorithmic Trading on: April 04, 2019, 06:45:02 AM
The most probable reason for this increase is the breakout of the ascending triangle we were in for months. A breakout would net a $1000ish increase, and we got exactly that. The only thing that wasn't certain was when it would break out with how it easily could have taken a few more weeks for the breakout to initiate.

One could also argue that the extreme selling since January 2018 is also bot-initiated and aggravated by majority panicky traders. Imagine a bear market without any significant relief rally?
276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: April 03, 2019, 09:10:02 PM
This is the new cycle of growth surely it will put all promising projects into more better position I'm feeling nice after looking over recent addition in the market. ETH is still in this race and current volume is showing this project still in good demand.

It seems that this bullrun will be more huge than in 2017 and we can see another 100x -1000x projects which have low cap nowdays. ETH have a lot competitors nowdays, so better to have some new blockchains with low cap.

CZ said that this bullrun will be crazy:
https://twitter.com/cz_binance/status/1112974859464671232

I'll be happy if Ethereum regains the mid-ground to all-time high which is $700. I think it's a good equilibrium price between the crazy buying highs of the bull market and extreme lows of the bear market.
277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I'm now accumulating 15 altcoins, what do you think? on: April 03, 2019, 11:17:31 AM
What do you think? I don't pay much attention to altcoins so I haven't done much research on plenty of these. Or there are coins I've known a little bit about for a while but never done dedicated research on. Just really trying to get a good diversified portfolio of altcoins for the next bull run to go along with my Bitcoin dominated coin holdings.

It is a good list. Especially if the coming bull market is crypto-wide, meaning like the last time when almost every coin out there increased with at least 100% profit. Good job on picking the least risk to moderate to high risk coins.
278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XRB]Cryptocurrency's killer app: RaiBlocks micropayments on: April 02, 2019, 06:47:38 PM

Binance to launch NANO /USDT pair 4/3/19 at 4:00 AM (UTC)

This is very good news indeed. Binance sees liquidity returning to altcoins and they probably think Nano is among the coins the new traders will buy. We just have seen the beginning of a new trend.
279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: 🌟🌟[ANN]ATLANT Real Estate Platform| 🌟🌟 on: April 02, 2019, 03:26:46 PM
In my many years of trading, there is only one true requirement for crypto projects with realistic use cases and goals: Survive. Almost all of them if you look at their weekly charts, enjoy a sudden and brief parabolic move for the first few weeks upon entering the market. And then a slow or even fast decline to almost the listing price, oftentimes way below it.

And then a period of nothing, no trend, no volume. During this part, the dev team must still be continuing to work or else, totally dead.

But then, when the markets are favorable again and the dev team are almost finished with their project, you'll see the price rally again and often break the old all-time-high.
