261  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: May 17, 2024, 07:56:05 PM
Al-nassr is currently competing against Al-hilal at the Al-Awwal stadium. And I didn't expect Al-nassr to immediately score a goal in the first minute of the match thanks to a goal from Otavio who received a very good pass from C. Ronaldo. If Al-nassr can maintain this advantage then won't Al-nassr be the first team to beat Al-hilal in the SPL?

the match was very fierce. And of course Al-hilal tried hard to reply to the goal. But fortunately this time Al-nassr's defense was quite good. I hope Al-Nassr can add goals again. because if not, Al-Hilal will equalize again. Because we know Al-Hilal is a strong team that will not weaken just because it is 1 goal behind.
According to the match stats, Al-Hilal is currently dominating the match, they have highest ball possession, attempts, and attacks more than Al Nassr; I think the early goal is a good advantage to Al-Nassr to brake Al-Hilal’s unbeaten record of the season which I think will be impossible.
If Al Nassr win this match, it will indeed be a very lucky win for them because Al-Hilal have a very good defensive line and are very good in finishing that is why they maintain their winning streak and they drew just two matches this season. Ronaldo should put more effort to help his team to score another goal to serve as a security goal for AlNassr, else it might end in a draw.
Al Hilaal actually played so well even too well to deserve a loss tonight but since it is football, no matter what you played, if you did not score and instead concede, you will lose the match. Al Nassr is so lucky to have gotten that 1 minute goal from Otavio, which they are able to defend till the 90th minute. They deserve to win the match honestly and I hope they are able to withstand the last minutes pressure from Al Hilaal. This match have spoilt the clean record Al Hilaal is keeping in their league this season and I'm sure Al Nassr will celebrate tonight's win as though they won the trophy. It was indeed a nice pound of flesh they took from their oppressor.

Edit: Al Hilaal scored on penalty at the 90 +10 minutes and that changes everything for Al Nassr and ensured that their unbeaten record lingers.

Now it's official Max Allegri was sacked from his position with Jvuentus after what he did during the Italian Cup final.

His fate was already sealed but now the final decision has been brought forward, let's see if Juventus will be able to save the remaining part of the contract money the coach's behavior against the guidelines
Such a shame it has to end this way for Max Allegri at Juventus. He has made great contribution to the team, took them to Champions Final and won several trophies for the club. If not what I will say is hard luck, he would have won the Champions League.

I know he will feel so bad at this development. We cannot blame the management, who saw his behaviour as crossing the red line. I will only wish him luck in his future endeavor and I feel the best decision for him now is to coach a national team, the same thing I'm expecting from Jose Mourinho. The oil money might come calling though, let's see how it goes.
263  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: May 17, 2024, 04:16:04 PM
Kane, an absolute beast on the pitch, doesn't have a trophy collection to match his talent. His transfer to Bayern was smart, and I'm cheering for him to win. However, Xabi Alonso has transformed Leverkusen into a serious contender. Bayern will face a rougher route, making Kane's job harder. But, Bayern is a another level. They're a machine that bounces back from poor years. I hope Kane has a good season. He deserves that trophy and all those awards. I hope this is his year to finally gain team recognition. I support him, man
I believe Kane's failure is not because of a damn curse that makes any team that has Kane unable to win trophies. It's just that Kane is really unlucky in his career. He plays for Tottenham Hotspur and that is not a team that has the potential to become champions if you look at other big teams from the EPL. When playing for Munich, Kane should be able to win trophies if he sees Munich's dominance in the Bundesliga. But unexpectedly Leverkusen turned into Neverlosen and undermined Munich's dominance. I hope next season Kane has the opportunity to win trophies. To be honest, I like Leverkusen who became champions because of their solidarity. However, as we know, Munich is the best team in the German League and they will be able to recover from their downturn this season.
I saw an article that described Kane as a player that have performed better than the name and popularity following him. It did not take me time to realize that the English media are at it again. Kane may be a very fantastic player, I love him so much, but the truth is that he enjoys media hype simply, just like everything British(not being racist please). I asked some female friends of mine if they know about Barcelona or Real Madrid, they said know that the only club they know are Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United. I was shocked but then I quickly realized the publicity those teams enjoy in my part of the globe. I think this is one thing that Kane was enjoying at Tottenham that made it become a task for him to live up to when he went to Germany. The entire German eyes were on him, a big name that should be like the messiah. Well, he still have time to live up to expectations as his career is still looking fine.
264  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your slices Luck that would have made you millionaire in gambling? on: May 17, 2024, 04:06:56 PM
I have not gotten to the point where I target to make a million in gambling, maybe my method of playing and the type of gamble I focus on made it so. I have always believed in building my funds from little to something significant and not getting rich overnight. This mindset might be what is stopping me from targeting major jackpot hence the reason I have not gotten close to winning a very big amount in gambling. Another thing is that I go for low risk games and as you know, the lower the risk the lower the amount that can be won. If I make some adjustments to these, I'm sure I will be targeting million in the near future and this is not a bad idea.
265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does destiny has influence in the amount we can win in gamble? on: May 16, 2024, 09:29:02 PM
Even though I don't feel comfortable attaching so much spirituality to gambling, it is still possible that some people are just naturally lucky that they win effortlessly.  I don't know if this has anything to do with their destiny or not and if it does, then it is possible that their could be some spiritual max they could win.

However, I wouldn't want to accept that destiny play a part in gambling, I can't just fathom how this will be possible. I have to see what others have to say, so I can learn. If it is, there is no way an individual can verify his case
266  Economy / Speculation / Re: How short-term market speculations can help small bitcoin holders on: May 16, 2024, 09:06:35 AM
I have a newbie bitcoin investor close to me and yesterday he made his first gains from his bitcoin holding although a small amount of profit considering his total bitcoin holdings, the gain was about $57 which for him is something he haven't experienced before and it got him excited.

He bought bitcoin when the price touched $60k some days ago with a capital of $600 bought bitcoin and when the market price increased to 66k just within days, he made a trade to take the profits which for him was an exciting results and excellent one at that, so I thought sharing his experience here will give us more avenue to discuss some other possibilities as he continue holding and expecting more profits.
Things like this actually feels good for those who are yet to fully be committed to Bitcoin. Perhaps your friend have now understood that he can actually make money from Bitcoin. What I will suggest is that you guide him on how to make better Bitcoin investment decisions which is holding for longer period of time. This short term trade has several challenges because if you ask him what his next plan is, you will be surprised to know that he is probably confused now and not knowing what to do. The danger of this is that he might want to repeat the process but there is guarantee that he will get the same result and if price lingers to give profits, he might panic and sell at loss.
267  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 15, 2024, 03:55:34 PM
Seems you have already concluded that Manchester City will win West Ham in their last match. You might not be far from truth because everything seems to favour that. The desperation in Pep Guardiola, as seen in their last match against Tottenham when we he sat on the groud in fear of Tottenham scoring the equalizer, is a testament to that. If it happens that Manchester City eventually wins the league, I will give it to them because it is a well deserved win. They played well, entertained their spectators and still demonstrated an unparalleled determination. Apart from France and Germany, I don't think there is any league that a record like that of Manchester City is possible.
The probability of victory over West Ham, according to bookmakers, is 1.11 - an almost guaranteed outcome.
I don't know how you are able to place "guaranteed outcome" in a discussion that involves gambling but from my end, gambling is entirely a thing of probability with nothing guaranteed. I have had funny experiences such as having my bet spoilt by the smallest odd in an accumulator. I have also seen see where a small odd like 1.05 lost to a small team playing them in their home and give 50+ odd. My experience has taught me to focus on a series of bets rather being confident of winning a particular bet.

In general, I don’t see anything special in City’s results; it has been proven many times that money easily buys success in round-robin tournaments, which is why cheating clubs like City succeed in them.
I don't seem to know about the cheating side of Manchester City, perhaps they cheat by outspending other teams in terms of buying key players. No, this may not be the case, maybe you can clarify on how they are able to cheat at the glaring eyes of the VAR.

Thank God that in tournaments with a playoff stage their success is much less.
Ops seems you have forgotten that they are the defending champion of the UCL which I don't know if it qualifies as tournament playoff stage.
268  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 15, 2024, 03:24:54 PM
Looking very likely that Man City will be champions for the fourth consecutive season. It feels kinda good that only Klopp was able to win a league title during Pep’s dominance in the PL.

It’s a shame for Arsenal but this is what happens when the authorities allow nation states to buy football clubs to enable sports washing.

It turns out that over the past 7 years City has won the title 6 times (including this season). Given the fact that this year there is a new champion in La Liga, as in Italy, as in Germany, we can say that the Premier League is a farmers' league  Grin
Because of the disgraceful cheating club City, the Premier League title is worth no more than the League 1 title.
269  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: People are interesting talking more about their success stories. on: May 15, 2024, 01:59:54 PM
I see more of success stories of bitcoin, like how people invest bitcoin for their parents,  uncles,  and themselves to make fine profit. These stories are very interesting one and good to listen of what bitcoin has done for people but it makes me wonder if people don't have stories of failure about bitcoin. In the real life I see people who talk about their failed investment because of not having the right knowledge.  But here everyone talks about success stories and it makes me wonder if people are shy to talk about their failures, it can also help other people to learn. Learning is not just about from successful investment.
I would have loved to know which medium those stories were shared because most of the people who share success stories about their investment do it to attract people to their schemes which usually end up in scams. The early adoptors are mostly minding their business and wouldn't want to be known for reasons I think are not far from security.  Nevertheless, I have been privileged to know some successful Bitcoin investors, and it was only possible because I inquired, not that they shared such information with the public.

The majority of people who investment in BItcoin with the right mindset and approach usually have success. Right mindset means not wanting to get rich overnight and not giving in to fear and doubt and holding patiently for a long time. The other set of people who actually experience loss in Bitcoin are those who buy the hype and are eager to see their investment multiplied the next day. When they see something contrary to their expectations,  they usually sell at loss and live to spread fud and all manners of negativity against Bitcoin.
270  Other / Meta / Re: What functions do "Staff" forum members carry out? on: May 15, 2024, 01:00:41 PM
I am fairly certain I understand the tasks carried out by moderators (and global moderators) but I do not know what staff do and what their functions with the forum actually are. If you know, let us all know.
The function of the staffs are numerous and also varies with the position. Generally, all staffs are moderators and by this they handle issues that violate the forum rules and to ensure there is orderliness in the forum. When a post or a user is reported to the moderators, it goes to the staffs who handle them. I think some some staff also have the ability to ban accounts violating the forum rules.

For those assigned to moderate specific boards, they have power to delete substandard posts, move topics to archive or off-topics or outrightly lock them when the need arises.

What is the specific difference between "Staff" and "Moderator"?

I am fairly certain I understand the tasks carried out by moderators (and global moderators) but I do not know what staff do and what their functions with the forum actually are. If you know, let us all know.
I see one user can be displayed as Staff and can be displayed as Moderator.
Seems you are mixing things up here. Like many people already commented,  moderator = staff. All moderators' names are displayed as staff except those displayed as Global moderators that have permission across boards.

I guess Staffs have less rights to moderate in boards they are not Moderators. Correct me if I am wrong.
You are right, the only exception are the Global moderators that have no limits to board they can moderate.
271  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: As newbies we should know the significant risk in trading on: May 14, 2024, 09:55:03 PM
- Making decisions out of emotion can cause great loss in trading. For one to gain profit in trade, he must make wise decisions without fear or greed.

Can you elaborate on this? Do you have any personal experience of this? I mean I want to know how emotions can impact trading? And how do you control your emotions when trading?
There is an unwritten rule that trading is 20% skill and 80% psychology. What this means is that irrespective of how much technical skill you have as a trader, if you don't have a proper psychology, you will not succeed. Let me give you a simple example, most traders make money in paper trading by this I mean demo trading but the moment they go live which is trade with real money, they begin to experience losses as if the market is against them. This is purely a psychology thing.  With the paper trading, there is no fear of losing the money, trades are executed freely and the judgement is not impeded by greed, this is how real money is made unlike the real account that is traded with fear and greed.

My response does not in any way mean that I encourage newbies to go into trading rather they can focus more in buying and holding Bitcoin. This is more peaceful and reliable. Most of us still regret why we never held the amount of Bitcoin that passed through our wallets, which were traded and wasted in ways we cannot account for; we learnt the hard way but then, it is the process.
272  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 14, 2024, 09:32:19 PM
At the moment Man City are mounting much pressure which is expected considering they have everything to lose if the game end like this or they lose. Tottenham Hotspur can do better too if only they maintain their confidence and continue pressing Man City whenever they have the chance because you have to think like Man City to be able to beat them and I feel this first half will end in a draw.
It has been an entertaining first half for both teams, though Tottenham have shown more defensive ability in this game. The second half is underway and Manchester City and leading by 1 goal. Tottenham are yet to score but they're really pushing hard to find an equalizer in this match, but Manchester City players are living up to expectation and I hope they can hold on till the end.
It's so surprising how Tottenham could not hold the match to a draw when they had the chance. What pained me so much today is the fact that Tottenham couldn't even score a single goal and this singular laxity has cost me money as I played them over 2.5 and over 3.5 combined with Real Madrid that have given me the results I wanted already. Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester United are three teams that have gotten so worse that it has become extremely difficult trusting them.

At this point, I don't think it is too early to congratulate Manchester City on their well deserved title win. They have West Ham to play as their last match while their runner up Arsenal will face Everton. The worst thing that can happen is Manchester City playing a draw with West Ham but then, there is no guarantee that Arsenal is going to win Everton.
273  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Why people dey plagiarise for forum and how we go avoid am. on: May 14, 2024, 09:22:46 PM
I just pray say people go fit see the importance of this topic because this thing called plagiarism don kill plenty people accounts, no be only newbies but even reputable members wey everybody been dey admire. I think na last year wey one popular person called Ratimov get issue, and the origin of that issue na this plagiarism of a thing and na this issue later make them fuck him style up last last.

If person take small time look bpip.org, person go see plenty accounts wey them done ban based on plagiarism, which means say for this forum as well as anywhere in the digital world and print media, plagiarism na big offense.

The reason many people dey commit this plagiarism be say them wan form expert untop another person idea, forgetting say nobody know everything. Giving credit to who get the idea no go harm you or make you look stupid, because them say knowledge is continuous,  so while you dey add to wetin person done already put for ground, give credit to the original owner. Pride na another thing we gat control too because e fit make person fall enter into plagiarism.
274  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Accessing gambling sites only on desktop as a means to prevent addiction on: May 14, 2024, 08:43:54 PM
This may seem like a solution to gambling addiction as it makes access to gambling platform a little stressful using desktop unlike mobile phones that is easier but I can tell you that this will not solve gambling addiction in reality. A gambling addict is like someone suffering from drug addiction and until that urge is quenched, there cannot be rest. So even though the gambler is constrained to use desktop alone, he will always gamble with the same energy and frequency.

The only solution is to always seek help from professionals who can help the gambler get over the addiction or use other means to solve the addiction problem.
275  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: May 14, 2024, 11:59:28 AM
Another day for Real Madrid to exercise their muscle on a weaker team, their typical action of oppressor. I'm expecting them to win Deportivo Alaves without much resistance even though they are not compelled to do that as the league is already settled. Such wins might just be to maintain their playing pattern and as a training for the final between Borussia Dortmund.

As usual, I will drop a bet of over 3.5, a high probability bet which I hope to combine with Tottenham against Manchester City.  Even if Manchester City wins Tottenham today, the later will definitely score at least a goal.
276  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Cryptocurrency have created more jobs for the youths than the goverments on: May 14, 2024, 09:37:44 AM
This topic is not to insult or downplay the efforts of our governments but to state my observation based on the little research I did and also ensure we look at the opportunities presented by cryptocurrency in a broader perspective.

By youths I mean students and fresh graduates. These clarification is necessary so we could streamline the discussion to get a better conclusion.

I have searched through most jobs posting websites and editorials, most of the jobs posted has 5-10 years working experience as requirement. Meaning they were not posted for the youths and fresh graduates. Last year I went to Federal Civil Service Commission headquarters, I was shocked to see that none of their employee fall within my description of youths, their jobs are mainly shared among the high and mighty and never posted for the public and even when they do, it is just for formalities. Same thing was seen at Podium block Rivers State where you will hardly find a fresh graduate or young person working actively unless few of them working as erand boys and girls to the big shots.

Now let's see how cryptocurrency made the difference.
I don't think there is anyone that will argue that majority of people into cryptocurrency in Nigeria are the youths under the category of students, fresh graduates and those who graduated but due to unemployment or being underemployed, they chose cryptocurrency to support the poor pay. Some of the ways youth make a living from cryptocurrency in Nigeria include but not limited to :

  • Merchant in Exchanges: I have many numbers of merchants I trade with on p2p of some exchanges, I saved them and view their WhatsApp status where the also advertise their businesses and I was shocked to realised that majority of them are still in the universities.
  • Crypto Trading: Majority of the crypto traders I know are youths.  This can be easily verified when you join some of the trading groups around both in WhatsApp and Telegram. I'm in many of them and I happen to know a good number of young guys who are actively trading even when they are still in the universities
  • Cryptocurrency Mining: Although Bitcoin mining is not really that big in Nigeria, a lot of Nigerian youths are actively mining in small scale. Not only Bitcoin but other coins. I got to know the huge interest of people in mining through Pi Network that many youths mined in large quantity. For several weeks, Pi Network was a dominant trend in Twitter Nigeria
  • Bitcointalk: I think a good number of Nigerians in this forum are students and young graduates. Many are earning through different means like bounties, airdrops, signature, contests and others.

If you add the various ways cryptocurrency have created jobs for students and the youths, you will agree with me that our goverment are far behind in terms of employment creation for the youths and stduents. As a matter of fact, i do think there is even provision for students job as it is in some parts of the world... here is always graduation before getting a job.

277  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Wins: Your Money Was Returned to You. on: May 13, 2024, 11:44:48 PM
~snip~
People do not investigate the gambling site and when they enter into that site they lose a major part of their money but still they gamble because they are examining their fate.
There are also some people who are winning little from gambling but they are not satisfied with such a small amount and they put a huge sum at once in a desire to win all previous lost money but the situations are not cooperating with them so this huge sum becomes a cause of their huge failure.

At the start gamblers are very responsible but when they lose a huge amount then they don't think about the future, money affordability and daily uses but they want to gamble to fulfil their needs and recover their money.

Yeah, it is quite an irrational mindset really...

Many gamblers try to recover their lost funds with the same mechanism that made them lose their money in the first place.

It doesn't really make too much sense.
I don't seem to understand you. Are you by any means saying that if a gambler looses, the right thing to do is to change strategy? You believe there is a method that will guarantee winning all the time? If your answers to these questions are affirmative, then your approach to gambling is totally different from mine.

There is no method that will not involve loss so what the gambler is interested in is a method that gives minimal losses such that the wins outweigh the losses. In other words, any strategy that gives the gambler edge in the long run should be the ultimate focus rather than looking for a perfect method where there is no losses. Personally I'm comfortable with any strategy that has a 50% win rate when the multiplier is at least x3. This way, I can lose 5 times out of 10 and still be in good profit.
278  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin taxation on: May 13, 2024, 07:16:25 AM
When you make a transaction with Bitcoin for the sole aim of profit making there is a taxable fee between your purchase price and proceed of the sale, it is not only limited to selling of Bitcoin but also when Bitcoin are being directly exchanged to another coin and maybe used in purchasing a goods or paying for a service.

According to the research I made online how long you Hodl a Bitcoin before selling it plays a major role in the tax rate the Bitcoin will have, additionally if you earned the Bitcoin through other means different from buying it, then there is a need for you to report it,

In India which is one of the lead countries when it come to Bitcoin there is taxation on Bitcoin transactions, staking, gifts and airdrops,
While In the USA Bitcoin is only subject to taxation on capital gains, in our country Nigeria there is a 10% tax on profits made on digital assets Which includes Bitcoin according to the financial act bill as amended in 2023.
Thanks for the wonderful piece of information. I have been long in Bitcoin but I have not noticed this aspect of taxation for buying and selling cryptocurrency between users. I know of taxation in some altcoins during trading in DEX, maybe I have not been paying too much attention to BTC transactions or the tax might be too insignificant that I never noticed. A link to broader explanation on this subject would have helped a lot.

In all this countries Bitcoin is not a legal tender,

My question is why Bitcoin taxation in countries in which it is not a legal tender?.
I'm still wondering how and why they want to earn tax from Bitcoin in a country that Bitcoin users are treated with disdain. The ongoing crackdown on crypto users in Nigeria should be a clear indication that our government does not have any justification for taxing proceeds from crypto and even if they do, I wonder how they will achieve that when most of the trades are done via p2p.

No bad feelings for Arsenal as Trossad has scored an easy goal with a clean finish to put his club on the lead. The goal was scored on the 20th minutes

M.United 0-1
It was truly a beautiful goal from Trossad, a typical defensive error because he was free and never marked by any defender.  It was beautifully converted to goal as the keeper watched the ball helplessly.
Arsenal is really doing doing well especially in their scoring and I must admit that the also have some measure of luck on their side else Manchester  United would have converted one of their numerous chances. If Arsenal holds this match as it is till half time, it will be a remarkable achievement which they have to use the break to restrategise because it seems their current formation is putting more pressure on them instead of being on the attack.
