261  Economy / Speculation / Re: CFTC Approves Options Trading In Bitcoin on: July 09, 2017, 12:02:25 AM
What do you think? Will they be able to depress the bitcoin price by trading fictional bitcoins with leverage like they have been doing with precious metals?

That is indeed a possibility. Bitcoin trading volumes aren't huge. If a trader with relatively deep wallets shorts Bitcoin, the market may panic and the price might drop.

I am a bit disappointed with the performance of Indian female cricketers as they are defeated by a very huge margin by South Africa,it was a real shock as i never expected this from this team, apart from Deepti Sharma none of the players performed in this match.

Well, every team has an off day. The Indian women's team has been outstanding in the field so far. They still are among the favourites to qualify for the semi finals, in spite of this loss. I would bet on them going further too.
263  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: July 05, 2017, 02:38:05 AM
Today there are 3 matches england vs south africa, australia vs pakistan and last india vs sri lanka. For the first match i feel south africa will win as they are treated as a underrated team. For second match I'm 99% sure pakistan won't win as there performance whole season has been really bad. For third match india is playing really good not underrating sri lanka but defeating india would be a really hard task.
Betting on any of these matches wouldn't be worth as odds are as low as 1.04.

Pakistan seem to be playing pathetically these days. I would say Australia are clear, clear favourites in the match against Pakistan today. But as the men's team has shown, a complete turnaround is only a match away.
264  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin in Economics class? on: July 05, 2017, 02:35:13 AM
Do you think they are talking about bitcoin in your basic ECON class?

I am not sure if they are talking about Bitcoin in the basic economics class, but B schools are showing interest. There are separate electives relating to Bitcoin / blockchain in some of the leading business schools.
265  Economy / Speculation / Re: Last 4 months of bitcoin on: July 05, 2017, 02:25:14 AM
Even if we look at the last 6 months of Bitcoin, the uptrend is clearly visible. There was a correction after the last halving, a period of lull, then the current uptrend started. Right now, things seem slow but we could have a break out any minute.
266  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: July 03, 2017, 01:57:53 AM
It was expected as Dhoni was just wasting the balls and not trying to score , even he was weak in running between the wicket. And in the end West Indies won this low score thriller match.
May be Dhoni was really tired in this match and so was the reason he was not striking the ball really well,he wasted a lot of balls ,may be the pitch is not suitable for batting, but either way India could have won the match but ,it was a stellar performance from West Indies despite defending a low score.

Dhoni will be blamed for this defeat, but he did score 50+ runs. In a low scoring match, this could have been crucial in achieving the target. Unfortunately, India couldn't finish the match and Dhoni gets the blame.
267  Economy / Economics / Re: How to TAX Bitcoin. An easy way ! on: July 03, 2017, 01:55:12 AM
In my country, I have to fill a form every year for the tax department, including my year end bank statement and the salary bill.
Together with some major bills for insurance and healthcare, that's all they get.

So I can hide cash under the bed, or have an overseas account, or have some Gold bars, etc. The goverment has to thrust me quite a bit.
They can check some transfers, but if you like to hide it, you can do it.

So the actual way of getting the real numbers is quite bad.

In Bitcoin
If the Tax department makes it a rule by law, that you have to report every BTC address you own, or every wallet you own ...

All problems solved, because then the Department has also the addresses of the petrol station and the deli you spend money.
In no time the system knows which tax counts here and can claim the respective amount from both sides.

Sure it is still possible to hide Bitcoins, but then it is illegal.

...or did I miss something?

It would be easier for them to just ask you about your total bitcoin holdings. But they will have to do it for all alt coins as well.
Otherwise, people would just hold litecoins instead of bitcoins and avoid the taxman.
268  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: July 02, 2017, 01:11:11 PM
I thought Indian batting is strong and will try to make a high score to defend but looks like Pakistan women's team is similar to men's team, bowling pretty well. Hopefully India will win this.
This was expected before the match but now the Pakistan women just bowled out India for just 169 runs and it looks like it is just a repeat of the recent India Vs Pakistan in the final of the ICC tournament. Tongue It is a game for Pakistan to win chasing a low score.

Pakistan really seem to pull something out of their hat when competing against India. Pakistan had a dismal start to the World Cup, losing all its matches until now. India, on the other hand, have beaten strong teams like England. Unfortunately, all this doesn't matter when it is India vs Pakistan.  Grin
269  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sold on: July 02, 2017, 01:06:29 PM
In my country, very few people know about bitcoin, it is not common yet because people here are quite resistant to accept a new change in any line of the life and when it comes to money so then you know we can come across many type of people some are extreme misers and creepy that they will not even let you do anything other than the conventional cycle. Anyway all these things will change with the passage of time and I hope someday I will pay bitcoin for paying my bills and stuff.

It is not just your country. People everywhere are conservative, especially when money matters are involved. Fortunately, government policies all over the world will make people realize that an alternative is needed. Bitcoin will then explode.
270  Economy / Economics / Re: New rich people thanks to BTC on: July 02, 2017, 01:00:07 PM
One of my friends asked me to purchase Bitcoins in 2011. At that time, the exchange rate was around $4 per coin. At that point of time, I chose to ignore his advice. I even mocked at him for putting his trust behind a ponzi scheme. But I purchased the same coins in 2014, at around $700 per coin. Had I followed the advice of my friend in 2011, then I'd have been a millionaire now.
that should be the worst decision for you isn't it? too bad you are not one of high risk taker. and i believe this kind story have been experienced by a lot of people around the world, bitcoin has made everyone regret and proven that they are all wrong 6 years ago. don't too deep fall in that king regret , get up and start a new journey from now , there's no time to keep thinking what you have done in the past.

Yeah, it's sound so bad actually but we cannot hold on and go back to the past. We have to move on and face the reality that we came to that situation but face it with no regrets because at first you doubted. all you have to do now is try to earn it, invest there and make some profit at least you are not yet late because there are more to come.

It was a risky decision to invest in 2011 and it was a risky decision to invest in 2014. The fact of the matter is, those who took risks in those years are reaping the reward now. Some people will be happy to make safe investments and not take any risk.
271  Economy / Economics / Re: Qatar Begins Turning Its Back On The US Dollar on: July 01, 2017, 07:39:38 AM
Qatar has no reason to drop the dollar. Their feud is with Saudi Arabia, not with the USA.
In fact, Qatar hosts a very large US base. So there is no threat to the dollar in the Middle East (apart from Iran) now.
272  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC sudden price fall? on: July 01, 2017, 07:26:12 AM
Hello!
Over the past days BTC has fallen quite a bit, also ETH. Any clue why? Seems to be opportunity to buy more.
Yes it is always wise decision to buy every alts that are in red during bloodbath, if you have bought at the time of your post than you are already in profit.

It may be profitable, but it is also risky. The volatility associated with bitcoins is huge, and the volatility associated with alts is much higher.
You just have to go to coinmarketcap.com to see how many altcoins are effectively dead.
273  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: July 01, 2017, 07:22:22 AM
India is going to lose this match with WI. Only 165 from 41 overs inspite of having wickets in hand. They have just 7-8 overs left to score runs and any target below 220-230 would make them lose the match. With Dhoni on the crease, hope the score goes even beyond 220 but they need to cross 200 in the next 2-3 overs. Their strike rate is extremely low.
It was a difficult pitch to bat on and so is the reason India was finding it difficult to score runs and i knew West Indies would not do anything better in this pitch and India won the match by 93 runs ,Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav bowled really well and took three wickets each to set up the victory for India.

A score of 251 runs was not much, yet India's victory margin was huge. Considering that West Indies even lost to Afghanistan and are the 9th ranked ODI team, this is not surprising. West Indies really struggled against spin.
274  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: June 28, 2017, 01:42:17 AM
England won the match via D/L method. For sure Pakistan would not manage to win the match as the score was obviously too high to chase and they were unable to reach even 200 by the 30th over. Scoring 378 was out of question and the bowlers are responsible more for giving over 7-8 runs in every over and not being able to get Knight out.

The match was over as soon as England made 377. The only way Pakistan could have saved this match is if rain intervened. Pakistan didn't even seem to be trying to win this match. Unfortunately for them, it started raining very late.
275  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10K at the end of 2017? on: June 28, 2017, 01:38:04 AM
Not possible to reach that price in this year as it seems to be unrealistic price to think of and if it does then it will be an win win situation for each and every investor of bitcoins and surely everyone would be start selling their coins if it touches that price and I would be satisfied even if it achieves the price of $5k in this year as even that would be a great price to sell some of bitcoins.

It now does seem like we are in a phase of consolidation. But I would wait to see how the segwit activation goes. That is a double-edged sword. It is possible that market sentiment turns hugely bullish post that.
276  Economy / Economics / Re: In event of your death on: June 28, 2017, 01:12:44 AM
I haven't thought about this but I never would trust my bitcoins to some lawyer. The greed level of the majority of the persons is at the highest nowadays. I will only let know about my bitcoins to my family and nothing else so they would know what to do if I were to die. Really a good reminder as death can cheat us all.

Bitcoin is about removing the middleman; removing the need for a trusted third-party? So why would you depend on a lawyer to make sure that your bitcoins get to your loved ones? Just find a way to safely transfer your private keys.
277  Economy / Speculation / Re: I feel we are in a mini down trend for a maybe 3 weeks to 2 months. on: June 26, 2017, 03:24:02 PM
I have been surprised by the resilience of btc and alts at recent levels, but now it looks like we are heading down for a little bit.

I think this is good it ameliorates a the size of a bubble and crash later though that will still come.

It does not feel like a bubble going from 1K to 2.5 K in BTC land.

30$ to 250$

and 125$ to $1200$

feels bubblish.

there could be a shake out in august then onto bubble.

I agree that we might be in a downward trend. But it will be real tough to time it.
It might last 2 months or 6 months. In any case, rapid increases are not good. What we need is sustainable growth.
278  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: June 26, 2017, 03:19:05 PM
India won by 105 runs it was good to come back to India after losing ICC trophy. Rahane, Dhawan and Kohli did a good job. Kohli missed his century by just 13 runs.  West Indies team completely not in good form bowling and batting both are too bad. Let's see next match they will come back or they will lose.

Women's world cup today Austrailia vs. West Indies match is going to play I will choose AUS in this match.

You got today's pick right. Comprehensive win by Australia, with more than 10 overs to spare.
Australia dominate the women's cricket field, with 6 world cup titles already. They may very well earn the 7th one this time around.
279  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: June 25, 2017, 02:42:50 PM
Bad news for today's match, There is a chance of rain and by the looks of it, this one too might get washed off between Indian and West Indies, Any way still hoping to get a match today, If its around 35 Overs each, We might have a cracker of a game on our hand, Any way my bets are on India, As for women match Pak Vs South Africa, South Africa should win this quiet easily.
Ho again rains OMG why these people will arrange matches in a rainy season. It's ok i have one more game SA vs ENG final T20 match this is very interesting game my fav team is England.

It looks like the West Indies vs India match will be played, although the number of overs have been reduced to 45. India are batting first and it will be interesting to see if the openers get off to a flyer again. Both teams have not changed their playing XI.
280  Economy / Speculation / Re: I have been waiting for Bitcoin to reach $3000 on: June 25, 2017, 02:35:22 PM
If you bought at any price lower $2600 selling now is a wise decision and will earn you profit, I'd suggest always to sell when you are in profit, because doing so will further circulation and keeps a healthy daily volume, what would've happened if all the Bitcoin holders never traded their coins for fiat or even alts? I know it is good to HODL but you really need to do that if by selling you'd lose money.

If you always sell when you are in profit, then you might lose out on the opportunity to further grow your coins. How do you decide when to buy?
Selling and buying continuously only helps the exchanges make money out of your trades.
