Is there a bounty for a nicer logo?
If so, do you want it to stick to the current theme of purple or can it be grey or something?
Currently there is no bounty. Are you interested in making a new logo? Everyone has their own definition of niceness so it couldn't be just a bounty it should be some contest. zeca pagodinho was also interested in this and there were some sketches from net12345.

Theme is purple just because logo is purple and I don't know why it is purple.

And I don't understand, you are working on a fork and at the same time want a new logo for SpreadCoin?

Looks like a clone is on it's way:
https://github.com/solocoin/solocoin
We really need to speed up marketing now before clone product come in front of SPR.
Yep. Mr. Spread please launch twitter.
I launched it: https://twitter.com/spread_coin
But I don't know what to write there.

Interesting. Launch date in source code is set to 01 Nov 2014 01:14:39 UTC and it was uploaded around that time. I think it was the planned launch date but it wasn't launched for some reason.
Reward halving is set to 3 months so they want to give a bigger advantage to early adopters.

In my experience, botnet operators will not bother trying to code or understand code, so if no one publishes a standalone miner, they will simply look for another coin, maybe less profitable, but easier to deploy.

This would imply that someone else is writing the infrastructure and selling it to the operators?

I wonder what those feature bullet points on their marketing materials read like.  XD
I wouldn't be surprised by that. There is a lot of shady activity around crypto-world. On freelancing websites someone hires people to post on this forum from new accounts to make these accounts more valuable. Then they probably sell these accounts or use them to promote some coins.
264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) | Bounties | CPU-only on: November 05, 2014, 06:53:24 PM
I still need to understand how the signing work
There is actually not much to understand. I moved most of the signing work out of the loop. On each iteration you just need to compute ((a + b)*c mod d) where a, b, c and d are 256-bit numbers. Long addition is trivial, multiplication shouldn't be too hard and finding remainder is the hardest part.

forgot to comment that: you don't really need an external API for GPU. Since OpenCL is compiled on the fly, you can implement it inside the wallet. Just work out an internal API to make it easy to link different miners to the wallet. (As a spreadcoin "entusiast", i'd prefer that, since it would keep a high cost for botnets).
This sounds reasonable, miner as a static or dynamic library. This also can have an advantage that you can switch to new block faster thus spending less time on mining stale blocks than with these json rpc calls. This makes botnets more complicated but still doesn't prevents anyone from actually separating miner and wallet.

This is good coin? Dev/coin is alive?
Yes, I'm alive.
266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) | Bounties | CPU-only on: November 05, 2014, 12:12:45 AM
Wolf0 said he need a bigger exchane to sell SPR.
Yeah, we all need a bigger exchange.

I'm working on an API for external miners. I will then make an external CPU miner to test it and as a reference for implementing GPU miner. After that I will start working on GPU miner by myself if there will be no interest from other devs. Even if I will be the first who will make a miner bounty will still remain for improving its hashrate.
267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) | Bounties | CPU-only on: November 04, 2014, 04:02:08 PM
I am waiting for GPU miner to come sooner
Me too. Mr. Spread, have you tried to contact any miner developer?
I will, what GPU devs do you know? I only know about girino, he was in this thread before, he is one of the early adopters of SpreadCoin.
268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) | Bounties | CPU-only on: November 03, 2014, 05:05:07 PM
What's the problem with solo mining? Getwork seems to work normally.
It doesn't yet return all the necessary information, you need to know whole block, not just its header. Although there is getblocktemplate which should return all the necessary information but it is more complicated to use because you need to build block by yourself.
269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) | Bounties | CPU-only on: November 02, 2014, 07:38:22 PM
Hashrate lowly - 40kH/s.
I opened my wallet and pushed the button "Start mining". Is that enough? Do i need writing anything in console?
You don't need to do anything else, pushing "Start mining" is enough. Mining is a random process, it is normal to have hours without any mined block. We had discussion about this earlier in this thread.

Yep!   I've done a lot of solo-mining under a lot of difficulty levels, from being almost all the network to 1% of it.  It's those long blocks without and those quick 1-2-3's that tell you that it is truly random.  It's kinda funny how randomness is generally misunderstood.  I had four blocks in 40 minutes yesterday, followed by a void of two hours, followed by another of two hours.
270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) | Bounties | CPU-only on: November 02, 2014, 11:26:46 AM
Good day. I mined for several hours, but didn't receive any coins. So it should be? Thanks.
What is your hashrate? Have you mined at least one block?
271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) | Bounties | CPU-only on: November 02, 2014, 10:43:14 AM
I have asked because wondering how it is safe from gpu mining.
Like CPU coins but if it's x11 then gpu miners will appear soon, or maybe even now some people mine using private gpu miner.
It is CPU only now because there is yet no public GPU miner and according to hashrate there seems to be no privately used GPU miner (at least you can easily mine on CPU). Due to algorithm used making GPU miner is more complicated but possible. It is not safe from GPU that is why I'm announcing this bounty for GPU miner.
272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) | Bounties | CPU-only on: November 02, 2014, 10:25:07 AM
Added to OP bounty for GPU miner:

GPU miner
Make a GPU miner for SpreadCoin and get reward for it. I will test your miner on my Radeon R9 280X and pay you 10000 SPR per MH/s (e.g. for 1.2 MH/s you will get 12000 SPR). It must work on Windows and Linux and it must be released under open source license on github. Notice that currently there is no way to make external miner because wallet doesn't implement necessary functionality but I'm working on it. You can contact me if you need any guidance about mining algorithm or interaction between miner and wallet.
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) | Bounties | CPU-only on: November 01, 2014, 10:04:03 PM
When I can read ane technical info about SpreadX11 details?
Best!
There is the whitepaper. It is basically X11 plus things added to protect from pools.
274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) | Bounties | CPU-only on: November 01, 2014, 07:28:20 PM
By the way, Mr. Spread, why don't you set up some bounty for GPU miner? If you don't have funds for it you can open fund so others can donate.
I will set up a bounty, I have funds (only spreadcoins) and I will make this bounty depended on miner's hashrate, that is the faster is your miner the more reward you will get for it. I will also need to make necessary modifications to client, right now it is not possible to create external miners without modifying client.

To attract more people we can set up a bounty in bitcoins if someone wants to donate.
275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) | Bounties | CPU-only on: October 31, 2014, 08:25:09 PM
I've never been able to mine before this. Thanks for this opportunity.

Anyone now why I'm getting only ~6.47 SPR per block and not 6.66? Where does the remaining go?
Reward is decreasing over time, like in Bitcoin but smoothly.
276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) | Bounties | CPU-on on: October 31, 2014, 04:35:44 PM
Is this a client bug? 22000006 SPR generated.
Yes, it is a bug in displaying information, thanks for reporting it. I will fix it.
277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) | Bounties | CPU-only on: October 29, 2014, 04:54:18 PM
Decided to create subreddit, after all, we need some publicity. Here it is:http://www.reddit.com/r/Spreadcoin/. Please add it to the OP.
Nice, added to OP.

Has anybody contacted poloniex to list SPR?
I contacted all major exchanges and several small ones. Some added SpreadCoin to voting list, some replied with something like "thanks for contacting us, we will review your request", some just ignored it. Only AllCrypt added it (I didn't contact BetaShareX, they added it by their own initiative).
278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) | Bounties | CPU-only on: October 27, 2014, 06:26:03 AM
Can someone please tell me the nodes?
I know they are in the wallet already but I need them for another reason. Thanks

Hello,
our collaborators reported that in this thread there are some misleading informations about BetaShareX Exchange.
Could you explain why you state that there are some voices about BetaShareX.com Exchange being untrustworthy?

We are the first Exchange to add SPREAD cause we were interested in this nice looking project. Whith which proof are you writing :

Quote
(Note that these are 3rd party exchanges, there are several reports that betasharex in unreliable)

under our logo in your OP. This is a really unprofessional behaviour. If you think that our Excahnge is not trustable, and your coin do not deserve our services,we will be glad to remove your markets immediately.

Thanks.

Best Regards.

Be careful with BetaSharex, witdraw no working now,no confirmation email,no resend button,no cancel withdraw button

The other report is from this thread. It says that coins which were not on orders disappeared.

I didn't trade on BetaShareX and cannot confirm these claims, the only thing that I noted by myself is that volume is calculated incorrectly.

I removed this statement from OP.

Am I the only one having issues with the 64x version?
No one else has reported similar issues.
Do you have issues with 64-bit versions of other cryptocurrencies wallets? Are you using any antivirus software?
