I still need to understand how the signing work
There is actually not much to understand. I moved most of the signing work out of the loop. On each iteration you just need to compute ((a + b)*c mod d) where a, b, c and d are 256-bit numbers. Long addition is trivial, multiplication shouldn't be too hard and finding remainder is the hardest part.

forgot to comment that: you don't really need an external API for GPU. Since OpenCL is compiled on the fly, you can implement it inside the wallet. Just work out an internal API to make it easy to link different miners to the wallet. (As a spreadcoin "entusiast", i'd prefer that, since it would keep a high cost for botnets).
This sounds reasonable, miner as a static or dynamic library. This also can have an advantage that you can switch to new block faster thus spending less time on mining stale blocks than with these json rpc calls. This makes botnets more complicated but still doesn't prevents anyone from actually separating miner and wallet.

In my experience, botnet operators will not bother trying to code or understand code, so if no one publishes a standalone miner, they will simply look for another coin, maybe less profitable, but easier to deploy.

This would imply that someone else is writing the infrastructure and selling it to the operators?

I wonder what those feature bullet points on their marketing materials read like.  XD

Interesting. Launch date in source code is set to 01 Nov 2014 01:14:39 UTC and it was uploaded around that time. I think it was the planned launch date but it wasn't launched for some reason.
Reward halving is set to 3 months so they want to give a bigger advantage to early adopters.

I wouldn't be surprised by that. There is a lot of shady activity around crypto-world. On freelancing websites someone hires people to post on this forum from new accounts to make these accounts more valuable. Then they probably sell these accounts or use them to promote some coins.

Well, you should start with platitudes, like, whenever the price is going up on some exchange, announce it there. Whenever there's opportunity for arbitrage (price in different exchanges has huge spread), announce it there. Announce new versions, post links to downloads regularly, announce bounties. This kind of thing. (Repeat the info in the OP weekly, in small doses).

Then, when there are REAL announcements to be done, post them there (new miner, new versions, new exchanges, etc). And try to answer questions and compliments (but ignore any petty criticism, FUD and trolls)

You can also try to "hire" someone to do so, there are several people that have interest in the growth of the coin, some of them might be good with social media... Just choose with care, since they will be the "face" of the coin.

Or maybe there is someone from the community able and willing to take over/joint promote ?

But definitely Mr. Spread should be active on that twitter account first. Try to post first the unique features of the coin, then also thank the exchanges that have added spreadcoin or have it on the voting list.

Also, if you're planning to add something soon, it doesn't hurt to say so, especially on twitter  Wink

Is there a bounty for a nicer logo?
If so, do you want it to stick to the current theme of purple or can it be grey or something?

Currently there is no bounty. Are you interested in making a new logo? Everyone has their own definition of niceness so it couldn't be just a bounty it should be some contest. zeca pagodinho was also interested in this and there were some sketches from net12345.

Theme is purple just because logo is purple and I don't know why it is purple.

And I don't understand, you are working on a fork and at the same time want a new logo for SpreadCoin?

No, I am not working on a fork. That clone is just a project that might be completed or maybe not.

I just think the logo looks like a cog, with the edges like that. Plus, it looks a little bit plain.

If I was going to make a logo, it might not look that good anyway. But IMO it needs to change.
