There was a buzz that working block explorer is about to launch. Any progress on this road?

263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ECASH]E-Money Advertising Revenue In Wallet | 8% Daily Stake for 21 days on: February 26, 2015, 03:23:21 PM
Still not a single person has staked.  Clearly this is a bigger issue than just PoS competing with PoW.

Hopefully we can get a fix ASAP, as I purchased and mined coins based on estimations I made on my total share of coins after factoring in compounded interest and PoW blocks being removed from the supply.  Thats all kinda thrown off now.

Really?  The nethash is 2.2 PH/s.  There isn't enough people staking to even come close to competing with that. Even if everyone staked that is mining, the stake weight wouldn't come close.  When PoW comes closer to an end and less people mine then PoS will be better.  This is not a problem with the coin, or a problem at all.  This is by design.

I understand the competition from PoW blocks, but something still seems wrong here.  I don't really know the exact calculations necessary to quantify the effect that a 2.2 PHs network has on PoS.  I'm assuming you don't either so you can't just say "the stake weight wouldn't come close" without anything to back up that statement.  I'll eat my words if I am wrong, but just saying that I hope our dev knows what he is doing, because it won't bode well for confidence in the coin if we all wait and wait and it turns out there really was an issue with staking that doesn't get fixed for another few days.  All I know is I have held countless POW/POS coins, many with extremely large POW networks, but I have never seen a coin so stubborn to stake before.

Do you remember 10k ? last day difficulty come to 640 000, but the reward was 1. I think that this coin has tooooo high difficulty to properly give a reward on stake, so I think that POS interest work well, counting 8% interest and when POW end, we will get our rewards ! I'm staking, and I don't have intention to sell my coins for this price ! So just patience Wink
The POS ROI as it is known varies depending on the net hashrate and POS difficulty. It can be anywhere in preassigned 8% range given that there wouldn't be that much POW blocks popping up literally every minute. With that hashrate (personally i could see 661TH so far) coin is kinda resilient to inflation. When POW is over, its in danger of being squeezed out by its shareholders. Wink

How much was sold?

This can be like a lot of those ICO on Bittrex, flying high in the beginning for the first few weeks and then going back close to ICO price.

As I remember smth about 550k coins were sold. In the first month approx. 30% inflation is expected due to PoS rewards, if everyone stakes, roughly 720k coin supply after 1st month theoretically, but much less in practice.
If the entire network compoundly stakes the coins, there would be 1,97M max after first month.

Well, bitcoin is not going to coexist with Fiat, it will be there to pick up the pieces when fiat self destructs or at least the majority of people acknowledge the fact that Fiat is dying. Fiat without gold backing is not money. Bitcoin is already money due to limited supply and competes with Fiat and will likely win in the long run.
266  Economy / Economics / Re: The European Debt Crisis Visualized on: February 25, 2015, 04:26:14 PM
"Minutes ago, eurozone finance ministers announced that they've agreed to give Greece four months of breathing room in which to get its financial house in order. In that time, Greece will either work out a debt restructuring with its creditors or create a fully-functioning economy capable of managing the developed world's second highest ratio of government debt-to-GDP."

Source : http://www.marketoracle.co.uk/Article49525.html

What do you think guys, Can the Greece go  "back" as it was before or not?

" It's not a surprise that putting them off is easier than facing them head-on."  - This pretty much sums it up. Greece wants to spend and borrow, and yet fails to even listen about paying it back.
Doesnt surprise me the EU heads are having a hard time comprehending such an idiotic behaviour.

cheers
If this deal has been done, but none of the money gets released very soon, that seems to me that Greece is still bankrupt as it has a cash flow crisis that the conditions and timing on the release of money mean they cannot meet before bills become due.
267  Economy / Economics / Re: Help me invest 50btc? on: February 25, 2015, 04:20:40 PM
Either put everything in XMR or exchange them to CNY. You will love them in a year.
268  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many bitcoins do I need to retire in 20 years? on: February 25, 2015, 04:19:02 PM
To figure out a ball park for how much you need:
1.) Know your annual expenses (your income doesn't matter). If you don't know what you spend in a year, then you're NOT ready to retire.
2.) Estimate your investment returns. If you have been investing for 20+ years then take your average annual returns and reduce those returns by 25 to 50%.
3.) Estimate Inflation. Over the long term inflation has ran about 2.5 to 3%
4.) Decide if you want your plan to last you to a certain age OR if you want to plan to live indefinitely.
After that it's all basic algebra that we learned in high school.
As an example: Assuming 7% returns, 3% inflation and live indefinitely, the calculations come out that you will need 30 times your annual expenses to retire (ie: need 40k per year after SS and Pension, you will need $1.2 M). If you make less on your returns, you will need more to retire (and maintain the same lifestyle).

Sprint and ATT are not following the new rules - they both require the requestor to be either a current or former customer - they way I read it is anyone that legally owns the phone can request the unlock - whether you are or ever were their customer. The new rules allow for a reasonable fee to be charged to unlock a phone for a non-customer.

aaaaaaand it's going back up?! lol wth
It typically bounces back after getting pressing hard, and can cause the coincident scatter in price. The bigger the top, the higher it drops.
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SCAM Darkcoin instamine 2 millions DRKs (50% of darkcoin in circulation) on: February 25, 2015, 02:12:45 PM
Amazing this scam is still around, the world truly is in bad shape

The dev of darkcoin instamined, and is propping it up with his instamined darkcoins. People actualy buy that, i also instamine darkcoin.

I support darkcoin because i need to sell my instamined coins asap.
Recommend a "Scam Alert" news entry on Darkcoin.io as well. Imo it should be used more to communicate critical non-update related items.

275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: QORA Giveaway | 2nd Gen | New Source | Thousands of Coins For Everyone on: February 25, 2015, 02:05:56 PM
I've removed the Qora sig for now. I still support Qora, and I think it's a good coin but I figured the giveaway is no longer active. Strange to see that there was no announcement of it closing though. Everything still looks like it's running. Only the payments have stopped.

someone to answer? or do I have to delete signature, two month without payment  Embarrassed

The OP got scammed out of 100 million qora and he's not been active since. That could have something to do with it.

That's unfortunate. He was last active yesterday but hasn't posted since early November. I wonder why he didn't use escrow. 13 BTC is a lot of money.
Actually not that big, middle-aged us person makes this money monthly. Already spent on alcohol, cheap marijuana and stuff to fill his slovenliness.
276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Paycoin (XPY) = Federal Reserve on: February 25, 2015, 02:00:12 PM
are we really at this again?  gaw got their money you got their bs coin.  enough said.  anyone contact the authorities about the obvious fraud committed on their customers?
The easiest way to spot a potential scam is when people qualify their loyalty based on the amount of money they have made from it. This is how a Ponzi gains acceptance - I made a lot of money so they must be legit. Please note I am not saying GAW or PayCoin are scams, merely saying that what you're saying here is exactly how a Ponzi works to win minds.
277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: February 25, 2015, 01:57:01 PM

WHAAAAAAAAT?

A SELL ORDER ON VIRCUREX:

Quantity[IXC]   Price [IXC/BTC]   Volume BTC

420,000.0000     0.00015000     63.0000

May I borrow 63 BTC Huh?
And why are the trades still running there? Vircurex will be repaying the owed monies for the next 13 years, and in case if someone could produce 63BTC on daily basis, the monthly fees would reach the stuck sum on my balance.
278  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why the US Government Is Terrified of Hobbyist Drones on: February 25, 2015, 01:49:36 PM
There will always be dangers in this world. The government cannot eliminate them. It cannot eliminate the need for individuals to exercise personal responsibility for security. It can however, create and maintain cushy jobs for government employees, along with enslaving the rest of us to that end.

That's a futarchy protocol, for predicting the future, although it does use schelling points to determine the truth of boolean facts.
