261  Local / Marketplace (India) / Re: Unocoin partners with Purse.IO to convert Amazon gift cards to rupees on: May 30, 2015, 01:00:30 PM
Hey there, I have a query. Can i redeem amazon GC's obtained from other sources? For example, the ZebPay app, which sells various gift vouchers/codes for bitcoins. I am not planning to do it, but was just wondering whether it is possible, or only the GC obtained through MTurk
You should be able to convert those vouchers or GC's on purse.io for bitcoins and then come to unocoin to convert those bitcoins to INR. So through this partnership, yes you will be able to get INR for any amazon based vouchers or GC's.
Well, thats great, if I ever need to cashout some unused vouchers, I'll surely be using your service.

All the very best Cheesy

Nothing as such @ramkumar. Its general information and thebitcoinquiz didn't have any issues responding to the queries. Would you buy a debit card blindly?

Also, I am interested in this, but I am unsure about the card. Will you be having access or anything, or do I have to activate it from the dashboard.

272  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Beginner starting trading on: May 25, 2015, 04:41:56 PM
Things to consider before you start trading.
Exchanges have transaction limits, meaning that you won't be able to set orders smaller than the limit (for example 0.01 BTC).
If you trade with a very small amount of BTC you won't earn anything because of the transaction and withdrawal fees. For instance if you buy 0.1 BTC, and the price goes up by 10USD your profit will be only 1USD -fees.

For the time being that's fine with me because I am just starting out and I don't want to dive headfirst into something I don't fully understand. How do I begin trading with what little bitcoins I have?

You need to make an account on an exchange and transfer your coins to that account, but you don't have enough money to even trade for fun. You'll need to buy some with fiat first or earn it otherwise (faucets, services section on this forum).

Here's a list of exchanges: http://bitcoincharts.com/markets/

Bitcoincharts is a great resource but you should also make sure you have chosen an exchange which is optimal for you. Please research teh background of the exchange before starting to trade. Also, storing large amounts of bitcoin in your exchange wallet is very dangerous, please avoid doing that. In addition to this, try to read bitcoin economics related stuff as much as possible and if at all you start investing a lot of money into crypto currency trading, consider using a hardware wallet such as Trezor, or an offline Ubuntu wallet, etc.

Its great to see something like this but can't we use something like AIML instead?
274  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Altcoin arbitrage and trading on: May 21, 2015, 06:42:47 AM
I don't know whether I should involve this, but I have seen some arbitrage bots promising to make you returns upto 6-10% a month, so you should definitely check 'em out...
yes, that is good for passive income but I think thats for bitcoin arbitrage. I'm talking about altcoin arbitrage, which seems to be quite risky.

276  Economy / Trading Discussion / Altcoin arbitrage and trading on: May 20, 2015, 12:52:35 PM
I was wondering whether it was possible to make profit arbitraging altcoins on different exchanges. Of course, a big investment is needed.
Say i had 10 BTC, do you think this is profitable? I am developing a website which finds arbitrge opportunities for a couple of altcoins, so the process of finding opportunities will be good.

Moreover, has anyone executed successful altcoin arbitrage?

May help to give at least a budget so you don't get a lot of people contacting you just to find out they're all over the budget. And maybe examples of what you're looking for (things that are similar), to help get an idea of what is needed/required. For example, I may be a good fit for this. But without knowing anything, it'd be a waste of both our time (and then you'd have the same issue with multiple more people going forward).

You do NOT need to share your website's content/what you're trying to accomplish. Just things to help better understand the requirements.
Alright, I'll be talking one on one via skype and rather not give a budget this time. I want the genesis theme to be customised into a 3 color scheme given by me. Moreover, I have a few illustrations that need to be vecterized and implemented.

Got it. I can do some things and not others, and I don't like to waste anyone's time just to find out I can't do whatever's asked (nor will I claim to be able to do something I'm aware I can't do just to get money, :p).

That said, I'm probably not going to be a good fit with this one. Good luck with it!

And make sure you vet out whoever you go with. There have been people getting upfront payments and then disappearing.
Thank you for being honest. And I'm sure that I'll use an escrow instead.
Cheers

280  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: We're building a wallet - what features do you want? on: May 20, 2015, 05:56:42 AM
Doesn't blockchain.info have it already. I've seen it on their mobile app for iOS, but anyways, if it were implemented on a larger scale, it would be better. How about compatibility with many devices, such as arduino and stuff, this will surely increase your user base substantially. Make a nice feature  rich API too. Finally, I'd like to say that at the core, security should be of the highest level

There are a few services who offer that, and it has been built into quite a few wallets as well. It's just a personal feature I like to use Smiley

In regards to what you came up with: raspberry pi support is a definite must Smiley
Yes, raspberry pi, arduino, spark core, etc  ask those devices need to be able to easily integrate, then the possibilities will increase rapidly

Do you mean a full wallet with the whole blockchain or a light wallet? I assume you mean a light wallet because the blockchain wouldn't fit that well on some of these devices  Grin. Out of curiosity, what applications do you envision for a wallet running on these devices? It kind of gives me a glimpse of new applications for open commerce systems but I'm sure I'm only scratching the surface here.

These are just small devices which are cheap. Possibly some open source hardware wallets, some new internet of things innovations. The possibilities are endless, you just need them to be compatible Cheesy
