261  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: June 30, 2015, 04:10:34 AM
Slush is still mining Version 2 blocks. You have to upgrade ASAP or will be left behind.

For miners of Slush pool, I suggest you move to a pool supporting Version 3 block until Slush is upgraded, or your work may just be wasted.

can anyone confirm this? this seems like a pretty large oversight by the pool... how long has version 3 been out?

either/or
i am open to all offers, especially for miners

and most especially for enough S1's to construct a man sized tunnel into so that i can feel like im really mining bitcoins.. it'll be nice and warm inside just like a burnt hotpocket Smiley
265  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: 4sale Bitmain's Antminer S4+ USA on: June 29, 2015, 05:52:15 PM
ahh thats a bit too heavy duty for my circuits.. thats part of the reason im selling this s4+
if you have any smaller miners i'd be interested Smiley

I will trade you 24 x S1 for it...you cover shipping  Tongue

pigeon express is the only shipping i offer on mondays .. if you'd like, tomorrow i can try to ship it but i do hope it floats .. :p

edit: maybe i could house a steam room within an S1 supermass i could construct from them lol

What scrypt gear are you looking for?

to be fair im not very educated on scrypt hardware.. what do you have to offer? i'll go educate myself Smiley

I have some Mining ASIC Technologies 256MH/s Scrypt gear you can look it up, Its identical to the HashCoins Ares miner.  Its new in box and never powered up.

is this it? http://www.alcheminer.com/alchemist-256mhs/
does it use the same power listed? ie 2200w

270  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] Avalon 4.1 Miner 1.3 TH 40+ units on: June 29, 2015, 10:35:24 AM
Its actual pretty easy.
Avalon do NOT want to intefear with Bitmain and start a price war, thats why the price dosent go down on Avalon products, but now when Sfart is ready for launch its a complete different story.
Bitmain will NOT release specs before Sfart has announced the end price. My guess price wise is still same as I said before.
SO, group by wise, Avalon needs to get down to 320-340 range pr miner before you are able to take ROI, with those 2 new miners from Bitmain and Sfart reardy on the dorstep, or im I wrong guys ?

i looked into it a bit after your post there xircom.. though i dont know if i believe the s7 will be the dream machine we all hope it will be
https://www.hashcoins.com/buy-asic-miners/buy-uranus/
this is rather interesting..
6 THash/s for about 1.6kw
it claims 0.26 watt/ghash .. if this is legit and it eventually scales downwards, then i'd say it has a rather large potential to shake things up.. too bad its backordered some months now or i'd consider ponying up for one Sad

edit: though, i might actually try to get my hands on one of these eventually.. just need a bit more cheeze
271  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: 4sale Bitmain's Antminer S4+ USA on: June 29, 2015, 08:23:34 AM

273  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lealana bitcoins wallet key lookup on: June 26, 2015, 03:20:50 AM
I know blockr.io works for First Bits lookups of addresses that have had a transaction, but probably won't find the addresses if they've never been funded.

You will probably have to contact the person who sold you the coins to get the full addresses. It might get trickier if they're not the first owners, but whoever bought them new should have the full addresses. If that doesn't work, contact user "smoothie" on here, as he is Lealana, or the maker of Lealana coins.

figures, i thought that might be the case.. i wonder if smoothie still has the addresses from 2013- i hope so!
thanx Smiley
274  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lealana bitcoins wallet key lookup on: June 26, 2015, 03:13:16 AM
i found this thread on bitcointalk: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=315440.0
maybe you can ask the OP, or in that thread.

but you can not find a bitcoin address just by having the 8 first characters, that is for sure.

Quote
The 8-character code you see on the outside of the coin is the first eight characters of the Bitcoin address assigned specifically to that coin.  You can verify the coin's balance on Block Explorer.  There is a mathematical relationship between the Bitcoin address and the private key inside the coin. The digital bitcoin is actually located on the public "block chain" stored on the internet, but it is completely inaccessible to anyone unless the private key from the coin is loaded into a Bitcoin wallet.

From https://www.casascius.com/

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mini_private_key_format

its not the private key im getting at.. obviously i could peel off the holograms and get those.. i simply want to know the wallet addresses so i can load them, i dont know how to get that from the trunctuated 8 key coded on the back.. the block explorer linked in casascius does not work for this.. i truly have no idea
275  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: zombie power supply on: June 26, 2015, 02:08:54 AM
woah i literally just bought one of these this morning
ESP-N much??

edit: do you think i should still underclock it tho? i think 1200w should be fine for normal configuration no?

The reason to "underclock/undervolt" the SP20 is to increase it's efficiency (i.e. GH per Watt), reduce it's heat output, and allow you to slow the fan (i.e. reduce noise). If your electricity cost is $.05/KWH (5 cents), and you don't care about heat or noise, then by all means run it as fast as your power supply will stand.

This also assumes you want to maximize your return or minimize your loss in terms of mining.

ah yes.. i actually have free power, but i am somewhat concerned with efficiency because its only a limited amount and im trying to maximize the amount of mining i can do with it..
so that setting is the most efficient?
i usually leave the fan setting to auto-is that not ideal? i dont really care about noise

auto is okay.  if it sets at 60 and chips are a bit warm then do 80

I get that efficiency of the unit is not important so you were cranking it….  you may have found  the main reason I don't crank gear up It breaks /overheats/has other issues.  so if you were getting 1500-1600 from the sp20 try getting   1200-1400gh at the lower settings.

Just to avoid breakdowns.

think this way:

my kia forte can do 120 mph on a slight down hill run.    my friend paid for the gas so I don't care about mileage.

well I will drive it at 90 mph on the sight down hill run.  even though the gas is free I don't want to get a flat at 120 mph.

I pushed this at a lot of people on my thread

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=872014.0

I dont so much overclock them as leave max voltage setting high so that they can overclock themselves if they want to :p
starting voltage setting that i use is 0.67 usually.. i do care somewhat about efficiency.. normally i run my circuits are at the very brink. they often trip if its hot outside and i run a powerful app on my pc for instance
