261  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pay off DEBT by do Gambling? think again before you loss more on: February 04, 2024, 03:53:36 PM
It's not impossible unless you are lucky. But the risk is too high, instead of having money to pay debts, if it is suddenly lost in gambling, it will be an additional problem for you to think about, That's a fact that anyone should think of. If the money you have is supposedly used to pay your debts, whatever happens, using it in gambling should not be done.
But it will be difficult for them to get that luck. We know that luck will not always come when gambling, but that doesn't stop them from chasing wins. But if they borrow money from other people, they will only make the problem bigger where they will also have difficulty paying off their debts, especially if they experience loss and lose all their money. We should gamble using our own money rather than borrowing money to avoid even bigger problems. But if the money you have is limited, you should not think about multiplying your money by gambling because that doesn't guarantee you can make money, especially since gambling is just for fun.
262  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Older men vs Younger boys in gambling, Which enjoys Gambling for fun the more? on: February 04, 2024, 03:36:24 PM
Older guys might find gambling more for fun because they have extra cash to spare, are chill about taking risks, and see it as a laid-back pastime. Meanwhile, younger dudes might be into the excitement, competition, or hoping to score some extra cash, thanks to societal pressures on success. Of course, everyone's different
However, some older men cannot use gambling for fun because they see an opportunity to win their gambling games. They may deposit more money to win the gambling game, but that will not allow them to win easily. Perhaps they will experience more losses, making them lose their money at the gambling table. Younger men can also make good use of gambling, and it all depends on how they realize that gambling is for fun and are willing to learn good self-control. So as long as older men or younger men can use gambling well, they will not experience any problems and can have fun at gambling.
263  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What remarkable thing have you achieved with the money you won from gambling? on: February 04, 2024, 03:13:03 PM
With the amount I bet on gambling, I don't expect to win such a life changing amount of winnings. If I am lucky enough, I think the most I can win won't really be that big enough to make me rich. So I guess if I'll be able to win and be lucky, I'll probably gonna use it to buy the things I want and need, treat my family, and use some of it in crypto investment. But if it's another case where I can be a millionaire through gambling, a house is what I'd probably buy. Might as well start a business and definitely invest more in crypto. Will I quite gambling? No. Will I keep spending my winnings in gambling? Well, I'll probably use some but definitely won't overspend my winning on gambling cause I know the risks and how it can make you more greedy to win again. You need to make your money circulate and last
That's what people who can win big will do because a lot of money from their big win will change their life so that it can be even better. Those who can use their winnings well will use them for things that can make a difference in their lives later. They will not use their winnings to gamble even though there is a possibility that they will return to gambling, but they will focus on themselves and change their lives first. But those who don't care about their lives, will return to gambling even with their winnings, and hope to get another big win. But they will find it difficult to get that win because gambling will not give them easily, especially since they have won big before. They will probably lose a lot of money by continuing to gamble because they become increasingly greedy to get bigger wins.
264  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling addiction lead to domestic violence? on: February 04, 2024, 02:49:06 PM
~snip~
It is obvious that some gamblers do make such mistakes of transferred aggression at home after losing at gambling casinos. It is true that at casinos, there are Security's to enforce law and orderliness when gambling and with the presence of those security officers, losers can not act funny because if they do, they would be properly dealt with so in that case, a frustrated gambler would take his annoyance and anger home to vent it on his family there by causing domestic violence without minding the consequences of his actions.
If a gambler is emotional, they will still think more about venting their emotions at the casino because there is security at the casino that will protect them and prevent them from committing violence or damaging anything in the casino. But the gambler can take his anger home and take it out on the people in his house. That is where there is violence in the household, which is caused by the gambler venting his anger towards his household. This domestic violence has occurred in many households and is caused by many things, not only from gambling but from other things. Those who gamble should be able to control their emotions so they don't lose control of themselves when gambling and don't take out their frustrations on the people in their house.
265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Know when to stop on: February 04, 2024, 02:29:13 PM

Yes, the adrenaline and the appetite increase when you keep playing, and you already exceed your limitations. It's the beginning of your addiction once you are already at the point where only gambling is circulating inside your mind. It's something that is hard to resist, especially when you are enjoying or you are in the place where you wanted to play because either you are winning or you are trying to recover your losses, and you are being dominated by your emotions.

It's something that you need to work on, resisting the temptation to keep pushing forward and always keep yourself in a place where you can still control your own self and not into a deeper connection inside gambling.
They won't know if they have crossed their limits because they get so much fun from gambling that they forget their limits. The more often they do it, the more they will quickly lose self-control without being able to realize it, so they will become addicted to gambling without realizing it too. And when they are addicted to gambling, they will not see other interesting things because they only want to gamble.

Having this self-control can prevent them from the temptations they see so that they can use gambling appropriately. They will also prevent themselves from getting too involved in gambling because of the risk of becoming addicted to gambling.
266  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction does more harm than mere financial loss on: February 04, 2024, 02:10:15 PM
~snip~
That's impossible. First and foremost, if someone is approaching an addicted gambler to talk to him about his current condition, experience, and how often he goes gambling. They are not going to the extent of engaging in a discussion about participating in gambling activities with the addicted gambler. Instead, they focus on resolving the issue and helping the individual overcome their addiction. It is unlikely that someone willing to help would become addicted to gambling simply by approaching the addicted gambler unless that person has ulterior motives.
Why is it impossible? A person who approaches a gambling addict but cannot control himself will find something that the gambling addict shows that will make him curious to try it. This self-control can prevent him from being tempted to try it so that he can stick to his goal of getting gambling addicts to cure their gambling addiction. Someone who approaches a gambler will use methods that might work well instead of directly asking the addict about his current condition. That will make the addict offended and feel that the person is not sincere. Someone who wants to approach the addict will know how he can enter and get close to the addict without rejection. This requires finding the right ways from the people who approach the addict so that they can help the gambling addict cure his gambling addiction.
267  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe visiting a seer or spiritual house could make you win a game? on: February 04, 2024, 01:50:12 PM
Anything that has to do with sports games , gambling I don't think a seer can predict what will be the outcome of the game. In this current AFCON that is going on, their is this seer who is predicting games, what will be the outcomes of games. This man claims to be a man of God and use by God to tell what will be result of every games, all what he have be predicting none of them came out right but he claims to be a man use by God that can see.
People who already know about it still visit fortune tellers or spiritual houses to get predictions so they can place their bets. And even if the fortune teller doesn't succeed in giving them a win, the gamblers will still visit the fortune teller in the hope that they can win in the next game. We don't need to follow what they do, especially if we already have analytical skills, to analyze the match. We also don't need to rely on fortune tellers or other people's predictions to place bets because with our analytical skills, we can find teams that have a greater chance of winning. Just let the people who continue to visit fortune tellers or spiritual homes get predictions from those fortune tellers.
268  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: February 04, 2024, 01:36:43 PM

Gambling, like any hobby, affects children differently. We fear the slippery slope of addiction, which is hard to get out of. Indeed, family and community must combine to guide and support.

Enjoyable, casual gambling is my preference. Its not all bad. It may educate risk, decision-making, and money management with adequate direction and restrictions. Its about creating a healthy, controlled environment where gambling is fun and not a vice.

Balance and moderation are my values. Children mimic behavior, therefore we must model gambling's enjoyable, positive features. Allow family poker sessions to bond rather than lead to addiction. Create memories of laughter and learning, not simply cautionary stories. Thus, we raise well-rounded adults who can have fun without going overboard.
We may have seen game addiction experienced by children, which is very difficult to get rid of because their emotions are not yet stable, and they cannot use their devices properly. That's also what will happen if they are addicted to gambling, which might have a worse impact than playing games.

That is why we have to be able to supervise our children well, and we also don't need to gamble in front of the children. That will prevent the children's curiosity about what we are doing. They also won't ask questions about what we do so that it can keep gambling away from the children. We also have to be able to educate children well so that they know that gambling should be done in a fun way and should not go beyond limits.

Yes, children will try to imitate what they see from their parents or adults. If their parents can teach them good things and not do things or activities that can harm their lives, the children will not try to do them. This requires supervision from their parents and also education provided by their parents. And when they are still young, we can teach them things useful for them when they grow up.
269  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You can not win if you do not risk on: February 04, 2024, 01:19:56 PM
~snip~
People are too focused on winning so they always try various ways that they think it will be useful to realize the victory they always expect and one of them is by increasing their gambling time to be more frequent, to be honest that this is not the right way, I believe that winning can happen but the problem is that with such a frequent approach then even if they get the victory but obviously in the end it will run out quickly because they gamble too often, unless for example after successfully getting the victory they make changes in terms of gambling planning to gamble less often. On the other hand I would not say that winning is difficult, but what is difficult is getting lucky because this is what can make you get a win, maybe we already know how luck works which means it will not always come to deliver you to victory, and that means you need to implement a more strategic management approach whether it is in terms of time or budget amount so that you do not experience any problems as a result of excessive gambling.
These are the things that they will experience when they are too focused on pursuing a win so that they cannot stop themselves from gambling, thus causing them to experience more and more losses. They will try to find ways to help them win, but it will be difficult for them to find them because gambling is not a place to make money. If they only gamble to win, they will probably have a better chance of winning because they are not eager to chase that win. They let the wins come by gambling enough so that they can also prevent more losses. And when they can win, they can stop gambling and will not try to chase bigger wins because they know it will only make it difficult for them to get that big win. They will think that they have won enough, so they don't need to chase other wins, especially since it will require more money to gamble, and there is no guarantee of winning.

~snip~
Only main reason for managing gambling time is to be able to control the intensity of gambling, which if this gets out of control then the percentage of gambling addiction will really be easier for every gambler to experience.
Besides this will also save more and make it easier to manage finances.

Big or small risks taken depend on the gambler background, if the gambler background is rich person or someone with lot of money then obviously they will be able to take risks from gambling.
But if it is small gambler or gambler with an economy that can be said to be just enough to live simple life then the risk taken will also be quite small, this is the difference in risk that occurs in the gambling industry.
Although it is true that some gamblers will do the same thing, namely they take risks by exceeding their limits, this is only for those who have suffered from gambling addiction.

Winning or losing at gambling will be the same if you can't respond well, if gambling addict loses they will increase their capital to bet longer.
The same thing happens when they win, they will use the winnings to continue gambling with the aim of winning bigger.
Everything has risks and in this case taking risks without having the right attitude and approach will be completely useless, their victory will only be in vain.
Managing gambling time is very important so as not to exceed the limits, especially if they do not have a lot of capital to gamble. By setting the time for gambling, they will know how long they can gamble and can stop their gambling activities when the time is almost up. They don't need to wait for the time to run out before they stop gambling, but before the time runs out, they have stopped gambling.

Playing gambling should not require taking too big a risk because that means they have to use more money, which does not guarantee they can win. And whether rich people or people who don't have a lot of money, they don't need to experience many losses. It will benefit small gamblers because they don't need to sacrifice much money to gamble. After all, the risks will not be greater. Anyone can gamble, but they must have good self-control and be able to reduce the number of losses. But many people still gamble excessively, so we still see many people who lose more money than responsible gamblers.

Yes, whatever results they get from gambling, they must be able to accept it well because it is their own desire to gamble. If they can be wise in gambling, they will not lose a lot of money and will not become addicted to gambling. They know that gambling is just for fun and not for the pursuit of win, so they will not continue gambling. They will anticipate risks that could increase by using their created boundaries. And they will be able to enjoy gambling as a fun activity that is not used for too long.

Beliefs can never be changed as long as they think all this is the truth and of course beliefs that are only related to mystical or superstitious things in gambling have become normal thing that happens and is experienced by most gamblers.
It will be very difficult to provide understanding that can make them have much better mindset because they will only believe in beliefs that they consider to be things that can bring good luck.
Gambling is full of puzzles and this is why the characteristics of each gambler attitude can never be equalized, some can have real awareness and some think certain things are belief in good luck.
Yes, that's correct. We cannot change their beliefs if they really believe in them, even if they are related to mystical things, superstitions, or myths about gambling. They won't care about it because they have been using it for a long time. And even if they lose, they will still use it because it is part of a belief they have believed in for a long time. But their understanding can be changed if they see that what they believe in is not working at all and they need to abandon it immediately rather than experience even more loss. Gambling is uncertain and difficult to predict, so no matter how hard we try, we may find it difficult to win if we don't have luck and analysis. That's where we have to have the awareness that gambling is just for fun and there is no need to use mystical things, superstitions or other myths.

~snip~
I get your point. A friend heading toward a cliff makes you want to grasp their arm and pull them back. The belief that gambling will lead to a great victory is dangerous. I think responsible gambling is fun. Modration and saying "Thats enough for today." are key.

I truly believe in choice. We control how we gamble and how it fits into our lives. Some play for fun on weekends, others with pals. Never let it grow beyond your control. Like eating too much of your favorite dessert, it ruins the fun.

Gambling should enrich your life, not deplete it. So I support enjoyable gambling. Enjoying the moment, friendship, and undiscovered thrills. Be light, airy, and most importantly, fun. Life's too brief not to appreciate small bets.
Responsible gambling can be a fun activity, but it will be difficult if we don't have self-control because we will have difficulty preventing large losses if we don't have it. And that means we need to moderate our gambling so that we don't cross the line when gambling.

We have a choice, but we don't see that choice and will continue to gamble even beyond the limits they have made. It shouldn't be like that because we have to control our gambling activities, and it's not like we lose control of ourselves when gambling. For this reason, we must use gambling for fun and not try to make money. That will be very difficult and will make us experience even more defeats.

By being able to use gambling as entertainment, we can enjoy the free time we have so that we can gamble responsibly. Yes, we should support fun gambling so that we can enjoy gambling as entertainment. Many people forget this by continuing to gamble without a break, so they lose a lot of money.
271  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a generous gamblers on: February 03, 2024, 10:08:20 PM
Perhaps I am generous by sharing a little of my winnings with people in need around me. I admit that sharing with others is something anyone can do, especially if we have something that can be shared with those who need it. We don't need to say why we do it because if we can feel it, there will be an urge from within to share it with others. Inviting good karma or whatever you call it, but one kindness can invite other goodness to come to us. If you don't want to feel guilty when you share some of your blessings, you can directly give them to those who need them without saying anything and leaving them immediately. That's enough for them because you want to share with them.
272  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What remarkable thing have you achieved with the money you won from gambling? on: February 03, 2024, 09:51:49 PM
I've never had a big win, so I haven't been able to use the money. But if I get that opportunity, I won't just waste it because the big winnings will be so much money that it could change my life. I will use it well and build a business that can grow and provide a large income. I will also invest in bitcoin more than before because it is big money where I can buy more bitcoin before the price increases. I will try to make the best use of that big winning money and save some for my future besides investing in bitcoin. I don't want just to buy luxury goods because that isn't very useful for me, and I will focus on trying to develop the business I built and utilize the winnings.
273  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: VPN - Differences between countries where gambling is legal and not on: February 03, 2024, 09:38:48 PM
Each casino's policy is to allow or prohibit the use of VPNs. We can ask each casino before we use a VPN so that we don't experience any problems. Some casinos require a direct connection from our IP to the casino to verify our account is the same as our IP. And after that, we can use a VPN or our original IP. But some casinos prohibit the use of VPN for various reasons,, which is what we need to ask each casino. If a country prohibits gambling, people in that country certainly cannot gamble, and they will use VPNs to visit its casinos, and look for casinos that allow VPN use. Each gambler will choose to use a VPN or not to use a VPN because they have their own reasons.
274  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling addiction lead to domestic violence? on: February 03, 2024, 05:50:28 PM
Most times violence in the house can be as a result of idleness. When a man is idle and is supposed to be the bread winner of the house and he is not doing anything to support or back up the family, it annoys him and in most cases, he becomes hostile and aggressive just to  express his frustration. Doing this alone causes violence at home. Gamblers too vent their frustration at home violently when they loses games and this also results to violence in their house.
Venting their annoyance or frustration when they are at home is something that most often happens in households so that their children or wives will become victims of violence. Those who have lost at gambling will feel relieved if they have committed acts of violence against people at home because they were too afraid to take it out while they were still in the casino. They won't be able to take it out on them at the casino because there will be securities that will beat them up if they cause trouble. And that was his reason to vent his frustration due to his defeat on the people in his house.
275  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Know when to stop on: February 03, 2024, 05:32:23 PM
Gambling addiction are the causes of all this and if that cannot be controlled, more people will lose their money to gambling and can become reckless with their life’s. I really think that those  that don’t know when to stop are mostly greedy and some don’t even care about it since they will still have some money to spend when they go broke or exhaust the money for gambling. There’s a point that gambling will get into you that you won’t know when to stop and if that is already in you, you’ll be at a disadvantage and your losses will be much higher than your gain. Your mind will want to convince you that you can win more meanwhile you can’t do anything about it at that time again and you’ll incur more losses than before.
Many people have lost control of themselves when gambling, causing them to become gamblers who are addicted to gambling. Their lives become messy when they decide to gamble more often because it will make them focus on gambling. They don't think that, in the end, they will become addicted to gambling because they want to get bigger wins or recover their losses. And it's best before we become a gambler who is addicted to gambling, we must be able to limit our gambling activities and not use a lot of money so that we don't have the desire to gamble any longer. Those who gamble longer don't know when to stop gambling because they have already discovered the joy of gambling and just want to keep getting more and more. That is the beginning of a gambling addiction, and if they do not realize it, sooner or later, they will just develop a gambling addiction, and it can get worse if they remain unaware that something has changed in them. However, we as gamblers must know when to stop so that we can prevent problems that can arise from gambling for too long.
276  Other / Off-topic / Re: Having a regular/steady income is important as a gambler. on: February 03, 2024, 04:46:10 PM
Having a regular income is good for everyone but for a gambler, it tends to even draw them more closer and become addicted because since the income is coming at regular intervals, the gambler would feel he can actually win on several attempts thereby he can even spend most of his money in gambling with the hope that he would still receive another income within a short while and since he is very sure of his income he might gamble carelessly with the mindset that after all his income will surely come. So even while having a steady source of income, a gambler needs to learn how to manage his funds and not allow his gambling to take the most part of his life then only can he be at peace and play in a responsible manner.
Even though they have a fixed income, they still have to be able to allocate a certain amount of money for gambling because if not, they will not be able to maintain their income. After all, it will be used for gambling. This will pose a risk to them because they can experience defeat, and when they do not have good self-control, they will only be tempted to continue gambling because they want to recover their losses. That is why someone with a fixed income should be able to manage their income well and allocate a certain amount of money for gambling. This avoids defeat and losing all the money you earn without having anything left over. He must also have good self-control so that he does not fall into gambling and use more money. By having good self-control, he can gamble responsibly and will not spend all his money gambling. Apart from gambling, he will also allocate a certain amount of money for his daily needs.
277  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: February 03, 2024, 04:18:49 PM
Gambling at work is very bad and we should try as much as possible to eliminate that attitude because it could easily makes someone to lose trust at work since such person can be seen as irresponsible worker and of course every employer doesn't want to see their worker being gambling at duty which some company highly prohibits that such attitude and that company could be at risk of losing higher amount of money because a gambler could used their resources to gamble.
Yes, that's true because it can make us lose the job that already provides us income. People often ignore the rules in their workplace so that they still do other things that have nothing to do with their work. Perhaps their superiors have never caught them, so they are still doing this. But if their boss finds out they are still doing this, maybe their boss will immediately fire them, which is a loss for them because they can no longer earn income. Those who still gamble at work must realize this, and they really must realize that it is where they work where they get their salary or income, so they cannot violate any rules. Otherwise, they could lose their jobs in no time.
278  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To what extent have you hated yourself due to your gambling losses? on: February 03, 2024, 03:52:08 PM
Hating yourself after making a gambling stake or hating yourself after a gambling attempt is not supposed to be so. A lot of people regret or hate themselves after making a stake especially when the lose the bet or some other persons may also get angry when the place a bet and won despite the odds and wish they had staked more.
The reason most of these persons end up hating themselves is because they had probably staked more than they can afford to lose and actually still lost the bet. If a gambler continues to stake in that manner they end up being an addict. Gambling is supposed to be a fun act unfortunately it isn't for most people.
If they have reached the stage of hating themselves for losing, this should make them realize that they don't need to gamble too often and should immediately reduce their gambling activities. That could make them experience even more losses if they continue to use and spend more money. Indeed, some people can win, but if they calculate the total of their wins and losses, they will see that they still experience losses. Those who hate themselves because they have used a lot of money, but it turns out all the money was spent on gambling, and they haven't been able to win any money. They really have to introspect themselves if they hate themselves after gambling and losing a lot.
279  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can somebody make a successful career in gambling on: February 03, 2024, 03:39:53 PM
Making gambling a full time job might be seen as risky but I still feel one can make gambling full time job and a career.
What do you all think?
Making gambling a part-time job is already risky. How can you think of making gambling a full time job and talk about a career in gambling? Gambling is a business but that is only for bookie and casino owners. Players are people who are willing to spend money on betting. So players cannot make gambling a job because from the start gambling is just a game and you can get addicted to it and harm you and your family. I think I need to provide an illustration that can make you think again about your idea.
It is indeed very risky to experience losses that we cannot imagine how much because when we continue gambling and lose, there will definitely be an intention to continue gambling to recover the losses and win the gambling game. That will make us fail in using gambling as entertainment, especially if we really intend to make gambling a career where it will also be very difficult to get it. Gambling is not a career, let alone a place to make money, so we have to understand that before we start gambling. We should be able to limit our gambling games so that we don't experience losses that could harm us by losing money. We also have to think about the consequences we will receive if we use gambling as a career, which will make us addicted to gambling.

I can bet against star players, clubs, and my favorite team if the opponent has much better abilities than my favorite team. But I stick to my limits in gambling and don't immediately use big money bets even though I feel my chosen team can win easily. I don't feel bad because that's what I have to decide if I want to place a bet. But I will understand if some people cannot place a bet against their favorite team because they are big fans of that team. Betting or not betting against your favorite team will be your decision, which is normal. I follow where the money goes Grin
