261  Economy / Services / Re: Who wants free advertising? on: September 06, 2012, 12:15:35 AM
Hey Shire, you should see those impression go up soon, the issue is that the network was only about 2000 urls until today nos its up to 50000, your keywords werent triggering and you were relegated to tertiary placement. I'll ad the .1BTC credit to your account and edit your keywords a bit to get you more exposure.

Awesome, thanks! I am hoping for more sales, enough to justify continued advertising.

Thinking I should make a bitcoin related landing page and have the ads go there.
262  Economy / Services / Re: Who wants free advertising? on: September 05, 2012, 11:45:46 PM
I think my advertiser ID is 1008. Gotten 4 clicks so far on 215 impressions.
263  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Anybody but Obamney, PROTEST VOTE (thrid party) on: September 04, 2012, 03:27:29 PM
You know how the media gets all hot and bothered about voter turnout? It's because it legitimizes the system all their friends control. If some tiny minority went and picked themselves a leader it would be clear that he's just their leader, getting everyone involved keeps up the illusion that we all consent to the system. I don't.

But the media does not report the voter turnout, they report the percentage of votes cast. And whoever wins, if people just stay home rater than voting third party, the winner will say "I got over 50% of the vote so I have a MANDATE to do whatever the fuck I want". When they only get a plurality of votes instead of a majority they can't say that as much. (Not that it really affects what they do, just how it is percieved)

One of these people is wrong. I'm willing to bet it's not FreeMoney.

In one town I lived in, the pro government school folks tried to get passed a huge expansion of the existing school. The voters turned it down. They waited the absolute minimum time required by law to put it on the ballot again, only this time the vote was scheduled for February. (This was in Minnesota.) They knew that most of the older folks on fixed incomes would be too afraid to go out to vote, plus it was the only thing on the ballot so most voters wouldn't bother. Only 14% of registered voters bothered to vote, and it just barely passed. It was still seen as legitimate even though less than 8% of registered voters voted in favor, and that's less than 5% of the population.

The idea that people will stop supporting government when enough people stop voting seems like fail to me.
264  Other / Off-topic / Re: Pirate & Associates: Please read! (Important) on: September 03, 2012, 02:35:46 PM
The story should have involved a cia agent in the passenger seat dressed as a cabbie in trainning, and when mentioning pirate the car screeches to a halt only to be suddenly swarmed by a passing by SWAT team, coming full force with guns drawn screaming at "HOW DO YOU KNOW SUBJECT TRENDON SHAVERS?"
Hey I got it, we can get all our money back.  Let's work on a script about this whole thing but really Hollywood it up.  Get Bruce Willis to play the ripped off boss to take down... I don't know... how about Kevin Smith from Clerks to play pirate and we can add in all the crazy drama we want.  We get the show and the money plus it is like Die Hard 4 without the jet and a little more believable.  Send me the treatment and I will go pitch and let you know what they say.

Man this whole situation is just going and going......

Umm, that's how Pirate was planning to repay everyone, only he was going to get Jared Leto to play himself.

266  Economy / Securities / Re: S.DICE - Want a piece of SatoshiDICE? IPO this week before new site launch! on: August 29, 2012, 04:33:50 PM
Any updates for the last week?
Please, use PE and not PS this time Wink

Its a monthly deal, not weekly.

Quote from: the contract
(e)The representatives of SatoshiDice solemnly promise and warrant that complete and accurate Statements of Profit and Loss for each calendar month will be published by them no later than by the fifth day of the new month.
267  Economy / Securities / Re: S.DICE - Want SatoshiDICE dividends? IPO currently in progress. on: August 29, 2012, 04:09:41 PM
The offered IPO shares aren't going anywhere. I like the price that it's at, but it's a lot of money/shares, so it may take a while to sell. Perhaps people will wait until they see the new sexy site launched Smiley

Or maybe they're waiting to see dividends. IMHO that's holding back FZB.A too. [Disclosure: I'm holding a small amount of both as a longer term investment.]

269  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Java 0-day Exploit. All browsers(Chrome included) are vulnerable. on: August 28, 2012, 07:26:18 PM
In Chrome;
chrome://chrome/settings/content
and tick the box for 'do not allow any site to run javascript'   To then enable it for a site you trust, you will see a small icon with a red x, at the far right side of the address bar. Just click it and select 'always allow javascript on this site'. Then refresh the page.

Java is not javascript. To disable Java click on Disable individual plug-ins... and disable Java there.

It took me a minute to find it. On my linux system the Java plugin is called iced tea. Hope that helps.

271  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: August 27, 2012, 12:16:33 PM
Well if we didn't have this pirate thing dragging it down..

If you truly believe that, you should be buying like a freak. In three weeks Pirate threads will be as popular as Bitcoinica threads are now. Unless of course there is some radical new development.

The mob is fickle.

So where are all the conspiracy theory threads about how Pirate shutting down was just a way to distract people from the bitcoinica mess?  Wink

I'm a web developer and would definitely like to build something Bitcoin related.  What do you feel is Bitcoin's missing link?

Recurring payments.
273  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Obama or Romney ? on: August 26, 2012, 01:01:27 PM
I'm in for Romney, I'm normally anti big-business, and often lean a little towards the left, however I think the only way to fix the economy is with business. Someone who made a fortune running businesses (even the ones he closed) can fix the economy, and work on the debt. You can run a business with money you don't have, just like you can't run a country with money you don't have. I stand by Romney, even though I can't vote, and the people's vote doesn't matter in an election.

The problem with this is that Romney's business experience is all in government-connected big-businesses. He has very little understanding of how small businesses, the engine of job growth, work. He'll do a great job ensuring profits for large companies with lobbyists, but won't be able to solve the real problems.
274  Other / Meta / Re: Topic title style guide on: August 25, 2012, 07:46:39 PM
Some people like to put "tags" in the title within brackets. Like "[GLBSE] [ANNOUNCE] ASDF: Generic asset". I personally don't like this style. I prefer to include the tag info within the sentence, like "Announcing ASDF, a generic asset on GLBSE". When tags are really necessary, it may indicate that a new subforum should be created.

Personally, I find the bracket usage very helpful. As an investor that wants to keep up with recent news, scanning the "unread posts" list for "[GLBSE]" speeds things up. Bracket usage also helps me skip over threads that are just chatting.
275  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Massachusetts man found guilty of recording calls to public servants on: August 25, 2012, 03:57:29 PM
Anyone has a summary of this ?

What did he do exactly, and how was the sentence ?

What he did was act like a reporter. He asked probing and pertinent questions of public servants. They didn't like that. He was sentenced to some jail time, although no where near as much as he could have gotten.

http://www.copblock.org/tag/ademo-freeman/ has a history of it all. Good organization too, although I think the name is a bit more antagonistic than it should be.

I'm sorry if I'm misunderstanding something here  (I don't really know what launching all zigs means...),

I can't answer the questions about CPA and insurance, but I can inform http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/all-your-base-are-belong-to-us

MasterCard Denies Plans For BitCoin Credit Card

http://www.techweekeurope.co.uk/news/no-bitcoin-credit-card-planned-90058

Is it possible to do this kind of deal just with the bank and not include a card provider??

Yes, that's exactly what's happening (from what I understand). BitInstant doesn't need to deal directly with MasterCard.
279  Economy / Securities / Re: TYGRR.BOND-PI 1 BTC face 100% Insured Pirate Bonds BTCST on: August 22, 2012, 02:03:11 AM
I'm buying back for 100% if he fails to send out coin. I'm buying back at 105.5% if he pays out in full with interest.

People are crazy cuz I don't know why...

How long will we have to wait to know if we're getting 100% or 105.5%?
