Well, I'd like a bloody link to the refund info/procedure mentioned everywhere in this thread the past days.

And I still don't fully understand what the options are as they so far seem intertwined.

[url redacted]

You too: posting this thread publicly could make it more difficult for steamboat.  Please remove it.
262  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: September 12, 2013, 02:50:41 PM
There's a lot of helpful folks in the thread. Unfortunately, I will only accept a refund form link sent to me from a known Steamboat e-mail adress (one that *I* know) with a signed confirmation message or a link signed with one of Steamboats batch wallets.

Security, Security, Security. Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they're not really out to get me. Ok? ;-)

A form hosted on Steamboats server with SSL would probably suffice too, but I'm not about to start trusting some form on google just because Tongue

This is the link I received in my email, it seems to be the same as the one Rakessh posted

[url redacted]

Probably won't help to post this URL here.  In fact, could invite spammers, trollers and fraudsters.  Please redact the url.
263  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy#1] Avalon ASICs CHIPS! Using JohnK as escrow! FINISHED! on: September 12, 2013, 02:45:14 PM
Why don't we start a thread where a user signs a message using their return address.  The message would contain the original tx id or public link to the sale and the number of chips.  This should be easily verified.

264  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner USB group buy- orders closed, pay for extra! on: September 12, 2013, 10:21:29 AM
Miners arrived yesterday evening.  All working, all hashing at expected MH/s with expected HW error %.

Thanks Arklan!  Already left additional trust feedback.
265  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy#1] Avalon ASICs CHIPS! Using JohnK as escrow! FINISHED! on: September 12, 2013, 10:17:48 AM
What stops a scammer from filling out this form, listing an accurate amount of chips for someone ELSE, and putting THEIR refund address?

Please think this through guys...

Once refunds become available John K will sort that out, I assume.  It might be better to post a signed message with the transaction id you used to pay originally.  The form and spreadsheet aren't binding.  We just want to make sure we have an accurate chip count at the moment, and accurately reflect all trades.
266  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy#1] Avalon ASICs CHIPS! Using JohnK as escrow! FINISHED! on: September 12, 2013, 02:04:01 AM
I have taken the liberty of setting up a Google form to collect all this information to hopefully facilitate a seamless refund (and take as much workload off John as possible).

I am using this as the frontend for a spreadsheet to track refunds and transfers which will ultimately be used to generate a "sendmany" transaction that John should be able to execute in one command with bitcoind. We will of course check, double, and triple check the transaction when it comes to that point (or leave it to him if he chooses to go a different route) but I'm just trying to put some organization to this chaos in the interest of just putting this all behind us. (I should note that we aren't even sure we'll get a refund so all this may be for naught; but it's better than sitting on our hands).

I apologize to those who have already submitted this information in the thread but as you can imagine, it is pretty impossible to accurately track this stuff on more than 80 pages of forum posts (as well as use this information in a manner to streamline refunds). So please use this link for your refund / transfer information.

I realize that anonymity is of concern, so all fields are optional. It will of course degrade the usefulness of the spreadsheet if you omit fields, but it is ultimately up to you.

In the interest of full disclosure, I should mention that I will of course be sharing the information collected with John K at a minumum. Additionally, BigBenInLondon and / or ryepdx may be helping with the spreadsheet construction (though I think I have it mostly under control). There are some oddities with the amounts (and usernames) that will need to be hashed out; and I may need to enlist the help of one or both of them since I do have a life outside this forum.

Here is the form for refund / chip transfer tracking:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1Db9Xx8NYvjnq-Pm7MmuVgWauTP1qSaFRyemI_sa5DkA/viewform

Everyone please take a minute to fill out redphlegm's form and check my spreadsheet to make sure your chip count is accurate.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ApT7WUJuJCwMdEhFX2UxbF9Nd0xydmhnUUJiZVBLVlE#gid=1

If redphlegm's form matches the spreadsheet and there is no contention, we should have no problem issuing refunds.

268  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy#1] Avalon ASICs CHIPS! Using JohnK as escrow! FINISHED! on: September 11, 2013, 08:17:27 PM
Well either way we at least have an accurate chip count.

That shit wasn't easy either; some of you guys didn't publish your chip transactions in this thread and I had to hunt you down.
269  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: September 11, 2013, 02:12:45 PM
Why are we not pursing a full refund for all batches? It's clear this deal is dead, why not cut our losses and get the f!@# out of this awful situation?

Steamboat,

Demand a full refund for all batches and hold the bitcoin in escrow while the refund process is cleared up.  Any customer who doesn't submit a refund request within 12-months from now should lose their coins.  Keeping the option open for delivery of chips does not benefit anyone but Yifu and yourself!!!!

Uh, because some people still want to mine with them.
270  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: September 11, 2013, 01:32:45 PM
That's only if they aren't able to reuse the parts in another miner...

Read below; look for my emphasis

In the event we are successful in redesigning the board, and can negotiate a fair and competitive price for the chips to be used with a verifiable delivery date, all customers who purchased assembly will be credited the full value of the components reused in producing the new units, in addition to a heavily discounted rate for the balance. We do not currently have any information regarding the final cost of the redesigned unit, which manufacturer’s chip the design will be based on, performance data, or availability at this time.

In the event we are unable to produce a redesigned unit, those customers which purchased assembly will have the option of receiving the components purchased for production of the original units if they so choose.

So:

Steamboat ends up pursuing a second gen board:
You choose to stick it out: you are credited with the full cost of parts and a heavy discount on any additional work that needs done
You choose not to stick it out: you will be given a 25% refund NOW, plus once boards are produced, a full credit for all of your parts, or the actual parts shipped to you.

Steamboat ends up NOT pursuing a second gen board:
You receive 25% refund from assembly plus parts shipped to you.

That's the way I read it.

Looks like everything should be back to normal now.

-Ukyo

Hey Ukyo,

Any reasons why the ActiveMining page takes so long to load? Don't have the issue with any other security!

Tom
Everytime you load the page, it also loads over 10k entries in the Trade History tab.

Pagination FTW
272  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: September 11, 2013, 01:08:48 PM

If a new chip is found to be useable on a modified k16 unit, would there be a further refund on parts which were purchased for this group buy, or a credit to those of us that stay the course?

Yeah, kind of insane that there is as steamboat said a "TON" of parts -- that apparently he is keeping, that you paid for.

I don't think this is the case.  I believe if you get the 25% refund, the parts will also be sent to you.

those customers which purchased assembly will have the option of receiving the components purchased for production of the original units if they so choose.
273  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: September 11, 2013, 01:06:36 PM
Option 1:  If I do nothing at this point, am I to assume that all Avalon gen 1 chip orders are going to be refunded to Steamboat, who will then use those funds to proceed with a different chip design?  This next chip may or may not be gen 2 55nm Avalon chips purchased at a reduced rate?  If gen 2 55nm Avalon chips are chosen this option may entail additional charges due to the unknown price, unknown amount of the discount, and unknown level of rework required for board design.

If you do nothing at this point, you may be moved to an earlier batch, taking the place of others that wanted refunds.  Your miner will be processed using 110nm chips and sent to you as planned.  No one is being forced to take a refund or wait for gen2 chips.

Option 2:  I request a chip refund from Steamboat for 95% of the BTC purchase price.  I then wait for a new chip to be selected and the K16 board to be retrofitted.  I will then have to purchase the new chips and my assembly payment will be credited towards a renegotiated per unit rate.

Appears accurate

Option 3:  I request a chip refund from Steamboat for 95% of the BTC purchase price.  I can then receive a Fusion 16 that is complete besides the lack of functioning chips.

I believe this is true but I don't know if steamboat has addressed assembly only with no chip purchases.

Option 4:  I request a complete refund from Steamboat for 95% of the BTC purchase price and 25% of assembly price.

You would also receive the parts that you paid for when you paid for assembly.  The idea is you could resell them and potentially recoup some additional investment.

274  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Asset Exchange Marketplace + Rewritable Options Trading on: September 11, 2013, 10:59:53 AM
Could graphs have a "low-quality" and "high-quality" options?  For low quality, render a static graph server-side once for every buy/sell and serve it up as an image.  Then, add a button to "switch to interactive" or some such.  That way my client doesn't hang for 10 to 20 seconds every time I switch assets.

Either way, the performance of those graphs is not good, and needs to be addressed.
275  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: September 11, 2013, 10:40:28 AM
The most cost effective and efficient way to recover the nonrefundable losses sustained is to reuse as much of the materials purchased as possible in a board redesign using a more efficient chip. We are currently evaluating the possibility of a board level redesign using the same form factor which will allow us to reuse the majority of the current design’s accessory components, and likely portions of the board level components. While we have been contacted regarding this possibility by a promising engineering team, research on the viability of a redesign is still in its infancy, and there are no guarantees it of our success. That being said, it is in our best interest to produce a competitive product which reuses the existing stock as quickly as possible, and we will be devoting all available resources to do so.

Thanks steamboat.

I've applied for refunds for batch 3 and batch 5.  I've already paid for assembly.  I will be sticking it out for the next iteration of steamboat assembly.  Will you be starting a new thread?  Will you be attempting to track requests to move forward?  How will this be organized?  I understand this is a bit early yet since, as you say, the redesign is still in its infancy, but I would hope that getting a leg up on the next phase would be a high priority.

To all of you who kept trying to pull your pitchforks out, I hope that steamboat's massive updates continue to communicate to you not only their contents, but the dedication steamboat has to this community.  This process was wrenched forcefully out of steamboat's hands, and he has no choice but to make the best of a bad situation.  Steamboat has demonstrated OVER and OVER that he's trustworthy and dedicated to the cause.  So please continue to have faith; steamboat will always attempt to make everything right.

So I had some time to dig through the thread, and here is a google doc with my findings.

Find information in the "Sales" sheet.

Hey All, would love feedback; I want to make sure I got everyone.

thanks - I noticed you saw that my sale was cancelled which is correct

I tried to be thorough. Smiley  You'll notice also that I researched other threads where the sale took place; the "supplemental link" column on the "Sales" sheet.

At this point I'm assuming steamboat would rather assemble our boards than work out some kind of refund.  So even if chips get refunded, steamboat should still be trying to broker a deal so the parts can be re-used on 2nd gen chips and those of us who already paid for assembly don't get left out in the cold.

I'd rather not assume though.  I think it's high time for some kind of communication from dear leader steamboat.
