dbitcoin is right, the stratum server itself does not handle payments. it just manages pooled share submission to bitcoind and logs the shares in a database table, if you have that enabled and configured.
Your front end + database will handle all the payouts and worker management.

Well then, it sounds with my workload I currently DO NOT have to work on a front end in a timely manner I'll just go back to P2Pool and run that for a month or so to see if anyone even will use it.   If not, it'll just get shut down.

Locking thread since I'm disabling the pool.
262  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: New Pool | PPLNS | No Fees | Stratum | VarDiff | USA Based on: August 21, 2013, 01:13:39 AM
I may or very well could be wrong, I'm new to this obviously; so I'm not saying I am 100% sure on this, but to my understanding this is how the default setup works.

Stratum server has nothing related to the payment method. Availably opensource implementation do not support any payments at all.
Stratum fork with basic frontend and database support without huge modification may used only for plain PPS.
Anyway, this fork has several bugs, so it can not be used on real pool server.

So until a front end is actually made to actually do the calculations, stratum server's default front end along with its backend will not pay out automatically?  I was under the impression it did; again, new to this and am doing my research as I go along, pretty much like everyone else who started at some point.. but if this is true, I may re-consider running a new pool and switch back to a free P2Pool in that case.

I wanted to add a new pool to help diversify the pools out there since I can afford the server costs alone outside of what I make with BTC, consider it a "do good" for BTC in the sense that the server bill will never ever have any bearing on the pool itself as long as it doesn't run me over $500/month.  I have a more powerful server which I could colo elsewhere that is a hex core w/ 32GB mem and SSD in RAID 1 with 3 1Gbps nics so the capacity in such of equipment isn't the issue it's more or less in the design and coding right now that is hindering me from moving forward.  I can and will have the front end done at some point, but when? I'm not sure.

If the default stratum server doesn't really do much outside of just letting people connect and mine, I will stop it and may pursue a P2Pool instead given that the coding and such -could- be out of my spectrum of experience, unless someone wants to hop on board to help.

Do you understand the calculation for PPLNS?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=39832

Yes, I understand PPLNS.  (Or I feel I do..)  To answer your question, I haven't modified the stratum server for fees or such so it's simply how many shares you have contributed to the total amount and it's all equally divided accordingly to how many shares you have submitted.  I charge nothing to run the pool all fees are given to every user based off of their total shares submitted to the current shift being the current difficulty.

I may or very well could be wrong, I'm new to this obviously; so I'm not saying I am 100% sure on this, but to my understanding this is how the default setup works.
264  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: New Pool | PPLNS | No Fees | Stratum | VarDiff | USA Based on: August 20, 2013, 11:26:56 PM
Is this PPLNS with shifts?  If so, what % of DIFF will each shift be?

By default, I believe the stratum server uses a "shift" method based on the currently difficulty rate around 55M shares per "shift", or until the difficulty rises and then the "shift" amount X is raised to the new difficulty level.  Correct me if I am wrong, but this is my understanding of it and also my understanding of how the stratum server works.  So, in short, yes per "shift".

As a bonus, all of the members of the BTCMiners at the end of the first block I will randomly select from the participants to receive a free copy (legit, bought the package, "Me+Friend") of "Don't Starve" on Steam.

After it has been completed, the winner will be announced on here and details of how you will receive it will be discussed after the first block is found.

What was the fuss anyway?  Why does it matter where the node is?

Not sure, but to settle any possible argument, I simply just verified the information.

2 New nodes added in Hong Kong this morning and have been added to list.

I think you will find, those are in India not HK.

I am the operator. Using no-ip service for this, The  IP address I am using, Which is very sure that the system is in Hong Kong.

The IP Location Founder tells my current information, 221.127.*.*, Is in Hong Kong, The no-ip it also be.

polarhei has PM'd me with details on the IP address and I can confirm that I can connect via IP:9332 to it and have cross referenced the IP address to show it is in fact located in HK.

Thanks for PM'ing me to settle this.
268  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: **UPDATED** Current P2Pool Server List on: August 20, 2013, 03:09:53 PM
The CryptoMiner node in Australia at cryptominer.org:9332 has been converted to be a sub-pool, so the fee is now 100% and payouts are automatically made when the matured balance reaches 0.25BTC (by default).

Details (and a huge warning about the 100% fee) are posted at http://cryptominer.org/bitcoin/

Thanks for the update.  I will figure out how to adjust this, perhaps add a sub-pool P2Pool category?

Can't imagine with that much cloud coverage it would produce a good amount of energy.  I know you said it wasn't your house, but still.. Tongue

I have updated you on the list, it must of slipped by me to put you above the other two given your fee rates.   However, if you can PM me your IP address to the server to verify its location and it must be xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:9332 for example that will match the exact same pool, and can then verify its location.  This way it should settle any nerves about the given location of this spot.

As for now the pool is up and running with construction in progress.  I've pointed 5-6GH/s there, I'm hoping some individuals that do not care immediately for all the 'frills' and understand this is a 100% free PPLNS pool.  You can access all the required information and do a quick mathematical equation to give you your estimated payout against the amount of shares you have to the current difficulty.  So if you would like to join a free pool that is looking for help running it, let me know! Smiley

Hope to see some new hashers soon! Smiley

No because PayPal found out somehow I was trading Bitcoin, thus permanently banned me from using their services again and I have 15K stuck in PayPal until October, 23rd.

Google checkout is expensive (around 3%).

I am out of bitcoin today, otherwise I am willing to sell for around 1100 usd for 10 coins using cash deposit or Citibank transfer.

Edit:
You can trust  DannyHamilton (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=60820), but I am not sure how much he will charge you, probably more than $1100.

It would be a few days before all the funds are in, but when it does are you willing to stick by my rules since you have no feedback on your trust to transfer the funds and I'll pay afterwards.. To set your mind at ease I can call you during the transaction so that everything goes smoothly as well.

I would like to try to acquire 10BTC for $1020 (Which as of this post is $1 more as well), please only reputable members will be accepted with feedback.  I would like to pay via Google Checkout, so it will add security from both of our ends.

I would be willing to send first if you have good feedback otherwise, because I do have some positive feedback from previous selling amounts, I would want the BTC first then I would pay directly after. (That is, if you have no rep.)

Please include your fees so $1020 + % = $1,xxx

Thanks,

Pool list has been checked and modified accordingly.

Changes:
1 US Node w/ 2% fee went to 0% fee and was moved up accordingly.
1 EU Node went offline and has had a strike through placed on it for the next 48-72 hours, before it is removed.
1 Asian Node needs upgraded, with a remark left next to the entry.

That's all for changes! Smiley

Make sure to verify for yourself before mining that fees are set properly.  I check them about once a week, but you still might want to verify them on your own to be certain.
279  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: **UPDATED** Current P2Pool Server List on: August 17, 2013, 03:47:40 PM
My node was down for a little while, adding more RAM to the server, so Hyper-V has a bit more breathing room. SQL was eating most of the machine's RAM  Roll Eyes - all back in action again.

Thanks for the update!

Just to remind everyone, I only check these approx.. once a week, so before you commit to what you've read off of here, please make sure to check to see if it is up and running and to also make sure the fees are correct.

To check fees, do http://hostname:9332/fees

replace /static with /fees

Vardiff seems to be working OK...

Hit it with a BFL MR for a short test

Good deal!  I see 500GH/s and looked through logs and see no errors, I'm still working on the front end but that's good to know the back end is pretty solid!
