261  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC - Where to buy? on: September 22, 2017, 07:17:20 PM
Hi,

I need to buy some BTC from a 'safe site'.
I do care about my privacy I'm not looking to provide my Government ID or my Driving License or anything personal.
Have guys tried any site that doesn't require sensitive personal info?
I'm really curious.

Take a look at VirWox.....there is always that way of getting BTC indirectly (through their L$)
262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where do you go for ICO Tips? on: September 22, 2017, 04:24:43 PM
I was just wondering if there were and particular websites or bloggers out there that you follow for finding out about good ICOs.  I personally manually vet each and every ICO I come across but if there were some people I could follow that would help filter out the crap, that would be a massive time saver.

Thanks.

I usually use:

cryptocompare.com/ico
&
coingecko.com (their ICO section that is still in beta)

For details about past (especially the successful), current & upcoming ICOs & then do my own due diligence homework to study/analyse the good ones
263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do we need an ICO regulation? on: September 22, 2017, 02:06:38 PM
After so many projects going scam the Investors or just dying before launch anything, I start think about this. I believe a project that want to raise huge funds should be backed by something big too. I know most of ICO doesn't have enough money to start the project and release announcement of their ICO with almost free money (there's website hosting payment and or copy-writers fees).

There's no guarantee for the Investors the project will ends well or the funds can be repay if something about fail gonna happen. Even they use escrow for fund, I don't think it safe because most of them using escrow that we don't really know.
We can't see people lose their money anymore. We need a trusted company or an organization with trusted people behind its to be a regulator. So every company should register their project, introduce the team (decentralized project doesn't have to be anonymous), office address (at least we know the place even if it's just a garage). And after that, the regulator decide to approve or reject. If it approved, they can make their Ann thread in this forum with regulator "approved sign".

Well it's just an opinion. It's all back to you guys to speculate money in crypto world.

Well, I agree with you on your concerns but adding regulation to the ICO is like centralizing the 'de-centralized' thing (that we all like it because it's de-centralized).....I believe that People who want to invest in ICO MUST do their own due diligence exercise properly before jumping in the ICO pool
264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin dies does altcoin die? on: September 22, 2017, 01:24:30 PM
Bitcoin is a very popular crypto coin today, we know that Bitcoin will be very expensive in the future but I imagine if Bitcoin die, whether there will be hope for the future of altcoin? because most altcoin exchanges are to bitcoins
your opinion is highly appreciated. Smiley

It depends on the reason.....I always believe that BTC could only die if - and only if - the global network of interconnections (i.e. Internet) dies....so if that happens; all Alt coins will definitely die as well
As it sounds impossible (at least in my opinion); that won't happen
265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why does China hate Bitcoin? on: September 22, 2017, 01:20:27 PM
I believe it is not only China.....All similar governments don't want their folks' money to slip away from their control
266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: wallet for Ethereum on: September 22, 2017, 08:37:43 AM
Hello

anyone know good wallet to store Ethereum ?

Thank you!

myetherwallet.com is the best one for me

I used it to store my Eth as well as my other ERC-20 tokens (i.e. the tokens I bought from the different 'good' ICOs that are built over the Ethereum platform)
267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible to buy less than 1 ETH? on: September 22, 2017, 08:20:35 AM
Hi I am a newbie and I am planning to invest ETH coin but I only have limited amount of money to start investing. Can I buy less than 1 ETH?Your response are greatly appreciated.Thank you.  Smiley

Yes of course! You can buy fraction of Eth (i.e. less than 1 Eth).

And if you're buying from an exchange, you can definitely use any of the available payment methods listed there (including FIAT or regular currency like USD, Euro...) & if you hold any other crypto currency (BTC or others); you can always use sites (like shapeshift) to exchange it for Eth
268  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could Bitcoin ever replace conventional money? on: September 22, 2017, 08:09:56 AM
Could Bitcoin ever replace conventional money?

I always believe BTC won't completely replace FIAT but they will eventually work in parallel

For BTC to replace FIAT.....It needs to be adopted by all people (all ages) in all places in all countries around the globe....At least we can say that is extremely hard (if not impossible)
269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do Altcoins really have a future? on: September 21, 2017, 05:08:41 PM
Yes,....Because I believe that Altcoins are the critical factors behind the success of BTC itself....Imagine the Crypto world with only BTC.... in these 'dump' periods (because of any global news for example); people would go out of the crypto world completely (back to FIAT) & it would be a long process for some of them to get back in...
I know that the BTC & the majority of Alts are highly related (they pump & dump together) but again; sometimes they're like crypto backups for BTC
270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum: Good alt or stay away? on: September 21, 2017, 05:02:38 PM
I always consider Ethereum as the queen of the Crypto world (with BTC being the King for sure)
The idea that the majority of ICO/tokens out there are built over the Ethereum platform makes Eth an awesome Alt even for long-term investments
271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's your favorite 3 altcoins and why? on: September 21, 2017, 04:59:18 PM
For me:
Eth: One of the brilliant platforms out there....I consider it the queen of the crypto world (with BTC the king for sure).....DAPP, Smart contracts....
Waves: an excellent competitor to Ethereum....smart contracts
EOS: I believe this one will be a super one
272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you ever recieve payment by mistake? on: September 21, 2017, 04:56:13 PM
It didn't happen to me & I have never read about that....but am still waiting Smiley
273  Other / Off-topic / Re: Job Vs Bitcoin on: September 21, 2017, 03:54:33 PM
Hi, I was wondering if I should quit my job and focus more on bitcoins? Because I think it might get me even richer without a job?  Grin

I highly suggest to move in parallel (your job & BTC).....I know that lots of activities in the BTC world require full-time attention & dedication (like if you're going to participate in some signature campaigns to make some revenue) but again, don't quit unless you're on a solid ground
274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your Top 3 Coins in Terms of Technology and Why? on: September 21, 2017, 09:10:42 AM
BTC -- The king of all crypto currencies
Ethereum -- DAPP & Smart Contracts
Waves -- Smart Contracts

I also believe that EOS will do a wonderful job in the Smart Contracts area
275  Other / Off-topic / Re: Would you give bitcoin as a wedding gift? on: September 21, 2017, 08:57:33 AM
What a coincidence! Today is the wedding of my niece
As she knows about BTC because we talked many times about it, let me try that with her SmileySmiley
276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most successful ICO on: September 20, 2017, 07:34:33 PM
'Ethereum' of course
But lately, and if we take the amount of funds raised into consideration; we can mention filecoin, tezos & EOS (that is still ongoing)
277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Opinions about whitepapers on: September 20, 2017, 04:27:55 PM
What is your opinion of whitepapers you read.
I'm asking because I read few and was very inaccurate, very confusing.
Please let me know your opinion, thank you.

Some are very confusing indeed but others are well-written & structured

I always like WPs with clear edges between overview/abstract, idea, technical, business, financial & others....this really helps you browse through the WP & jump directly to the field of interest to you...
278  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as salary for a regular job? on: September 20, 2017, 04:23:48 PM
Would you accept bitcoin as your salary in your profession, especially if you work in other country?

For me yes I will accept bitcoin because we can exchange it in our local currency.

For me, it's a 'Yes' & it's actually the short-term goal of my current employer as it's a global company with employees working remotely from many locations around the world (US, Europe, Asia & Africa)
279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you do with ETH ? You buy to hold or to invest in alt coins ? on: September 20, 2017, 02:59:45 PM
What do you do with ETH ? You buy to hold or to invest in alt coins ?

ETH for me is for investment (long-term investment) as well as a base coin to use when participating in good ICOs (mostly ERC-20 tokens over the Ethereum blockchain) but definitely after doing my own due diligence
