Stossel is always good: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhS0cjvdPfkThe problem with futures market is that people don't realise it all paper and based on fiat currency. Naked shorting doesn't even require anyone to touch any of the commodity the market is supposed to be based on. People don't realise this and trust the regulators that naked short selling doesn't get out of control. Well naked short selling is indeed used on a massive scale and the regulators do nothing about it. In a free market at least people will be forced to figure this out for themselves and there would be competition with exchanges and not monopoly exchanges. And of course the markets are manipulated by fiat currency that can be created out of nothing. Fiat is just arbitrary numbers, arbitrary numbers are perfect for manipulating/distorting markets. Therefore I'm 100% positive that Bitcoin's financial arena will flourish... Just imagine, no bullshit games from FED, everything is transparent and accountable...

The evolution of Bitcoin, to me, is one of the most fascinating and exciting things to me. One person's idea (solution) has spurred so much other innovation in others. And you're right, the same thing will happen in the realm of security and the void will get filled with new ideas and ways of thinking about the new problems. The road to future innovations and advances will be paved with the carcasses of fallen comrades, but the rest of us will be better off and more secure from their loss.

The problem is governments and media blaming speculators for the financial crisis. People believe the propaganda. Speculation per se was never the problem.
+1 Manipulation is the problem, like the FED. It's drives me nuts every time I hear some politician blaming speculators for the prices of this or that. +1 PS.... Gavin hates me

But it's even more rewarding to ride the rollercoaster of life doing what you can with what you've got.
Yeah, maybe... when you are 19 years old... When you 30 years-old you don't need this... All you want to have opportunity and not be fool enough to blow it...
|
|
|
But I find it not very challenging and exciting.
All I can say that you don't see a shit beyond your nose... Anyway, thank you for Bitcoinica, we will remember it as something good. PS. Right now I'm writing up new post how we will be shorting Bitcoins without Bitcoinica... stay tuned.

the best way to be known in the Internet industry is to build products that save people time, money and headaches.
I leave Bitcoin only because it doesn't help address my real needs.
who have eyes to see, and don't see, who have ears to hear, and don't hear

Ok, I will tell you how it will be During next 20 years you will be building Facebooks 2, Instagrams 3, Friendfinders 4 etc... All these projects will fail miserably... One day you will sit down and tell to yourself - "Oh my God, how stupid I was when I was 19 years old... I had everything - money, name, new technology and I blew it off for some stupid startups that next year nobody remembers of..."

I thinks it's too early for Bitcoin to have VIX... let's take care of trading volumes first
|
|

Why are you guys keep talking about BitcoinJ and etc... blockchain.info-like wallets are the future..
|
|
|
We must get CyanogenMod and miui to include Bitcoin app by default

|

So it did not die overnight... good job

Yeah! it's brilliant idea, isn't it?? We can't avoid total protocol change though, because nLockTime still must be somewhere in transaction, but still...
PS. I assume nLockTime is some block number greater than current one, correct?
|
|
|
I think "sequence number" must be extra fee for this transaction..
For example, transaction fee is 0.01 BTC + every next transaction will add 0.00001 BTC to it..
This way we can seduce miners to have oldest transaction in pool.
What do you think?

WTF? why I must deposit through Walletxxxx.com? where is direct bitcoin address?

No CSRF protection... I'd say 2 months.

It has to do a lot with this thread - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=67739.0This is the explanation I gave when I was at the Israel Bitcoin Meetup
Imagine you play poker with your friend... Both of you have stack of chips... During the game you stack of chips grows\shrinks... When you done you change chips into cash and go..
Now imagine you play with Bitcoins instead of chips...
Pot = 2-of-2 multi signature transaction ( tx A)
After each round you (you and your partner ) create transaction ( 1 input(tx A) and 2 outputs ) (don't transmit into network ) representing your bitcoins if the game will end right now.
When game is over and you want to cash out - you send latest transaction to network...
Is it clear now?
Now apply it to oneway bitcoin movement from client account to girl's account... If we manage to do this software - in 2 years all webcams will be working like this.
