Don't be a fool. It's not all or nothing in life. The older you get the more you realize that. Don't throw all away. You can stick to Bitcoin and do whatever you want at the same time.

Ok, I will tell you how it will be During next 20 years you will be building Facebooks 2, Instagrams 3, Friendfinders 4 etc... All these projects will fail miserably... One day you will sit down and tell to yourself - "Oh my God, how stupid I was when I was 19 years old... I had everything - money, name, new technology and I blew it off for some stupid startups that next year nobody remembers of..." Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do, and there's no two ways about it. Good luck and best wishes man.

I'm a student at the moment and I can't do many things concurrently. (I hated working with a few American kids that came up with one project every week.) I may go back to Bitcoin when it's accepted by mainstream users. I know this sounds harsh, as I'm supposed to be someone building the community instead of "enjoying the results". Again, I realized the importance of passion. It's like eating fruits, Apple tastes nice but sometimes I'm just passionate about strawberries.

Good luck-- I share your view that coming up with better ways of playing zero-sum games is not the way to make the world a better place.
Making bitcoin price more stable and providing liquidity for those who want to buy bitcoins is a zero-sum game?

Zhou, I think you contributed more to Bitcoin than you know. Remember the recent Reuter's article Bitcoin, the City traders' anarchic new toy? That story was re-brodcast by other new outlets like RT and HuffPo and seen by who knows how many new non-bitcoin people. The journalist, researching largely on this forum, was looking for an angle to portray Bitcoin. I believe Bitcoinica, mentioned prominently in the article, largely influenced the positive coverage and gave Bitcoin credibility (look at the financial industry it already has!), so people could associate it with something other than Silk Road. That's big positive momentum IMO Thanks, and best of luck!

But I find it not very challenging and exciting.
All I can say that you don't see a shit beyond your nose... Anyway, thank you for Bitcoinica, we will remember it as something good. PS. Right now I'm writing up new post how we will be shorting Bitcoins without Bitcoinica... stay tuned.

Andrew, you miss the point. Sure it's nice to have money and be famous and have shiny toys. But it's even more rewarding to ride the rollercoaster of life doing what you can with what you've got.

Yeah, maybe... when you are 19 years old... When you 30 years-old you don't need this... All you want to have opportunity and not be fool enough to blow it...

Obviously you will be well aware that there are fun, challenging problems to be solved with Bitcoin. Not all of which are zero-sum. In the past year your work has made the Bitcoin scene more interesting, more unpredictable, more vibrant. You've had one hell of a crash course in entrepreneurship. I look forward to seeing your name on Fast Company's "Most Creative People", or TIME magazine's 100 list in some number of years. Best of luck. See you around.

Bitcoin: An Idea Worth Spending

Wait, what? I spent 8 hours diggin' up shit on you, and now you're leaving. Dude, don't do this to me. I was goin' to nail your tiny Asian balls to the wall with what I found, albeit it was only an astroturfing feedback post on eBay. 8 hours of my life gone, down the drain, kaputski. Seriously, what I did discover about you, the OP echoes volumes. You are a class act, and truly wish you well in whatever you desire to do in life. I do have one request though. Would you be so kind as to post here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=77535.0 as a going away present to the community? Thank you for everything, Zhou Tong. ~Bruno~

Emotions are running high. Like money, this forum can be cold and heartless.
You will be missed, but I believe you will be back.
Good luck and thank you.

I'm going to be a young entrepreneur that solves problems for everyone. I leave Bitcoin only because it doesn't help address my real needs. Making money isn't that important after all.
Impressive realization for one so young. Some waste their whole lives chasing that "shit beyond their nose." But you'll do alright. I am sure we will be hearing from you again with your next project.

Bitcoin Fact: the price of bitcoin will not be greater than $70k for more than 25 consecutive days at any point in the rest of recorded human history.
