I believe this is the best way to strengthen the community and counter the speculative whales. We can select the best coins and work together to let them grow!

This would also get coin survival out of the hands of speculative whales, but would create a combined effort.

Main thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=576714.0;topicseenCoin Revival Foundation![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.richardcyoung.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2013%2F08%2Fgold.jpg&t=663&c=4WCOBgJB0qREYg) I have been in altcoins for a while now and it really bothers me that some devs just drop coins and get rid of their responsibility and drop coins to let them die. This is bad for a couple of reasons: 1. Lot of mining time was for nothing 2. People bought these coins on exchanges and now they're worthless. 3. Altcoins are seen as shady Opportunity: The communities can be quite strong, but nobody to lead them and keep the coin updated. Solution: A foundation that commits to reviving coins that have good foundations, but lazy devs. This is very harmful for the future of altcoins What the foundation does:1. Create new bitcointalk where the foundation is the Dev. 2. Create new github source that can be updated to be ad up-to-date as possible 3. Vote for new coins on bitcointalk and pick a new revival coin once a month 4. Keep track on old revival coins and pick specific forum members to run the comms in a certain topic. 5. Hold an election for the leaders of the foundation once a quarter. What the foundation needs: - Technical people - Comms people - Marketing people - Nice people ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) If you like this idea, please respond below. When the idea is picked up, I will hold an election in a poll to pick the first couple of members. You can nominate yourself below and tell a bit about what you would like to contribute. Just noticed this coin is really cheap on poloniex, when you consider the amount of coins in existence. Going back a couple of forum pages, I could only detect that the dev is not that active.
Anything else going on?

Wallet would be nice! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) The network hashrate and difficulty is increasing, so I would recommend people to start mining. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Also, f**k paying exchanges to list our coin, I think it's s**t that the culture is developing this way, we have an exchange already - https://www.allcoin.com/trade/qb_btcrather than begging to ignorant exchanges who list any old toss depending on how much you bribe them we should focus on rewarding those that support advancement and the development of the crypto currency movement by not demanding fees for every action they take. Mintpal and Coinano are the new Barclays and HSBC then? Mintpal and Coinano will be swimming in s**t(coins) before long with that kind of business model just like Cryptorush. One exchange is enough anyway. I quite like Allcoin, because it is not that cluttered. Paying for a listing makes the market whale territory, because they can influence listings by simply paying some BTC. Are there technical people that would like to get involved?

thank you - it's too bad people have nothing better to do than steal - guess they're too lazy to go out and find a real job and be productive - it's a shame they were raised in a manner where they can live with themselves after stealing from others.
In a very real sense, their greatest victims are themselves. Consider: Satoshi Nakamoto could buy a swanky seaside estate in the East Hamptons without a second thought except for the IRS. BCNext, whoever he is, will never have to work again. As long as he knows how to manage money, he has the scarce luxury of never having to worry about his bills. He could work on whatever he wants - no matter how exotic or flaky - and his standard of living won't suffer. But what if Edgecoin didn't take off? If the OP hadn't scoffed off with the BTC, if he had thrown his mind and heart into the project, he would have had this luxury in only one short year - the luxury of updating his resume: "EDGECOIN FOUNDER AND CHIEF DEVELOPER:" Had the OP been on the level, he could have put down a paragraph that would give him a real leg up in getting a "real" job - a job with a starting salary of about $100,000 per annum. But instead, the kid threw it all away. He ruined his reputation, made people around here even more guarded, and ran the real risk of being doxed into welfare country. All for the sum of about 50 unescrowed BTC. The price of a mid-range car, or about one hundred and thirty pieces of one-ounce silver. I lost ~$200. Whoever the OP was, he lost much more. Good way to look at it ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

3. After audit they will convert old coins into BTC and LTC which will show up in your new account as a debt they owe you.
at what exchange rate.?. all altcoins as 1 satoshi each, or something more fair? No clue. Maybe current exchange rate at time of audit?

Just tried to check Cryptorush.in, but got the boring statement page. Tried http://www.cryptorush.in/ and noticed they've got some new things up. One of the things is a PDF statement with todays date and their new plans! PDF: http://www.cryptorush.in/press/20140418%20-%20Debt%20Management%20Statement.pdfIn short: 1. All old funds will be frozen untill they can fully audit the situation. 2. They will launch a new exchange with new wallets 3. After audit they will convert old coins into BTC and LTC which will show up in your new account as a debt they owe you. 4. They will pay back the debt over a long time with daily payments. What do you guys think about this?

It seems that the dev has given up on his coin. We need a new dev to step up and take over. I have checked and there is still people actively mining quarkbar. The problem is there is no place to get a wallet. I am not a miner but would like to start but I do not have a wallet. Plus I just lost a bunch of coins at cryptorush. Is there anyone out there that can take over and save this coin. We cant really promote this coin any further until we get these problems fixed. Its a shame because those of us that know about quarkbar, know how good it is.
I was cooperating with Switchboard for a while, but have not heard from him in a while. I'm good at communications and management, but not technical skills. It would be good to get a new team with at least one technical person and do the following things: 1. Start a new bitcointalk topic 2. Create a new Github. 3. Enhance the source and wallets 4. Collect funds to do giveaways and promotion Currently, I still have 0.01 BTC and about 7K QB for this purpose, so I'm in ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

I'm mining at Obfuscode and transferred funds to Cryptokk and all worked really well! Best way to handle the missing of the windows wallet at the moment. I just set the auto payout to 40k, so it goes directly there. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

what is the reason people gets into IPO exactly ? Mostly getting unfair advantage over regular miner.... (selling their coin before large supply has flooded the market) which is kind of unfair... ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) So basically they got scammed before they were able to scam anybody... ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) (how bad is that ? Everybody should thank the scammer for helping the community) hehe a man not afraid of making controversial statements... ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) (controversy is good) well it is a bit like the "popular" false money scam, when people buy really well imitated false money at half price, thinking they will be able to exchange it easily and end up with nothing as the guy just disappears with their money. (usually they don't go to the police for obvious reason...) You're right, but its the only way for the technically inapt to get into coins early. With the sites like betarigs it's easier to mine, but still most altcoin things are still too hard. On the other hand, an IPO is usually for a successful company to get extra funding to take the next step. It would be more logical to have a premine and IPO the money once the coin is successful. The main problem with developing an altcoin only gets the dev money if he gets part of the premine or has an ipo. I think a fund would make sense of a group of people that promote the coin and are transparent about the funds.

Has there been a legitimate IPO outside of Reddcoin? I invested in the Reddcoin one, because I was convinced the devs were legit, but even then I was still worried I could be wrong. Luckily, I was right.
However, every other IPO I've witnessed has ended up being a scam, in one way or another.
Heavycoin was a good IPO.
