wow @>$100K on an exchange. Hopefully it's not all of your life savings.
nope just profits I wouldn't be comfortable holding that much long-term on an exchange. There's non-negligible counter-party risk involved. -power to the hyphen-

50USD != 50EUR != 50CNY
Trying to account for psychological ties to numbers when BTC is traded globally seems rather obviously flawed.
USD is still the benchmark. I'm in Europe, and I don't measure price in Euro. Admittedly, the primacy of numbers is not what it once was though. ![Cry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cry.gif)

Apple stock pays a dividend
And the pe ratio is only 16.8 not bad for a company still growing
Currently, dividends are unsustainable as they are dipping into their cash reserves. Corporate profits need to grow in order for them to be robust. Thing is, when you're already the biggest company in the world, how do you grow by say a factor of ten?

I hope the speculation (let's face it, it wasn't an investment) pays off for the OP so that he at least gets his money back. Otherwise it's like Jack trading a valuable cow for a bunch of beans. Except in this story the beans are sterile and there's no magic sky giant with loads of gold.
lol, great analogy ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Knowing Bitcoin, it'll probably start sprouting a stalk now though!

True but how was he to know of the price drop? If bitcoin goes up to anywhere near it's projected, he'll be happy he bought at the price he did. If you couldn't have projected where we were heading by mid-January 2014, you were simply another of the Sirens' shipwrecks.

"It can't do this, it can't do that". O Bitcoin, how you must chuckle to yourself.

I have 0$ debt, so that's not the reason.
It's not because you can get it for free, that it means the entire world has it for free also. Besides were I live it's a bit of a useless thing to have a creditcard, only if you buy stuff regularly online and want to have it delivered the next day. In regular shops you can use a debitcard and cash.
Ok, wild stab: Barrow, Alaska.

Chart buddy is a service to update the thread on BTC only.
As far as my posts it is all manual. In 2-3 weeks things will have changed and people would have gotten accustom to the new trend.
Make sure you make a separate account for it, because - and no offence - I'm going to have to put you on ignore if you're posting that scrollathon on every page.

Bitcoin will be a success (as a currency) when a significant number of people spontaneously choose it to pay for legal purchases, because it is better for them than the alternatives. "Better" may include cheaper, safer, simpler, faster, or any other operational advantage. But I would not count people who use it just out of curiosity, because they are invested in bitcoins, for political/ideological reasons, or because they are interested in the technology. As a jealously guarded jewel, Bitcoin is doing much better.

The british were so infinitely happy that you gave Piers Morgan a green card. That guy is poison.
Also lacks any understanding of this country's history, as he presented a documentary were he lauded Dubai of all places as having an excellent model of government. Dubai is an absolute monarchy, with no elections... ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

Holy shit, 400 BTC dumped. Must have been Satoshi! ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) btw, looking at the BTC-e BTC/CNH graph, a mere 49 BTC in July took the price from 3900 to 1400 yuan. Horry shit!

The fact that the last super-dumps have roughly moved the price by a gnats fart only to steadily rise again to $220-230 makes me feel something I haven't done for over a year, genuinely optimistic.
Current price action really isn't a cause for optimism - not least because it has barely begun. We'll see. I don't like the volume today. The dip below 220 resolved itself positively, so I was too pessimistic, which makes a refreshing change.

anyone else notice that the recent bottom in price, 'so-called market cap (value of total coins issued) was also a test of the market cap at old ATH $266 price ~$2.5 bill.?
Seems like that will have made a very solid bottom (I'm calling it a top for the current crop of fiat currencies).
So, as more coins are mined, we can keep hitting lower lows without reaching a lower 'market cap' ... interesting, never thought about it like that before It's an interesting observation, but aren't bottoms about the psychology of the players, i.e. that they missed their opportunity for accumulation at level x.

Good job defence council trying to pin it on the spacehopping Frenchman. You might as well have implicated Bungle from Rainbow.

it doesn't mean that there aren't real marriages being ruined by bitcoin. It brings to the fore aspects of a person that might otherwise have remained invisible. But is marriage maintained by the invisible to be celebrated? Desperation brings out the worst in some. A desperation not visited but arrived at.

So sad to see all that energy being wasted on quarrelling ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif) Everybody knows you should conserve your energy for the wrists.

Are they all living in pristine cardboard boxes in Zurich then, because apparently they can't live on their wages?
From what I've heard income is about 20% higher in Switzerland with expenses 30% higher, so yeah kinda. Well, if they're bums, at least they're cleanly bums. I bet R. Branson here bleaches his a-hole before crawling into his box.
