2601  Economy / Economics / Re: Forget a return to office: We’re living in the age of side hustles on: December 21, 2022, 12:12:21 PM
Many people feel ambitious to get out of the office with the hope of becoming entrepreneurs, when they start they encounter obstacles that make their plans fail and they regret that they were too hasty to leave without proper preparation. be aware of the many invitations or promises of success as employers or investors that make us regret that finding a job is also a difficult thing.

This kind of mindset will fail you. I also noticed this before but not nowadays since they already knew how to play safe. They will tend to resign immediately without any backup plans if their start-up business fails. We should set up plans if we are planning to get into business since we know it would be a difficult journey, but if it is successful, then it would greatly help us financially. I know all of us are eager to jump into business, but let's prepare. If we fail, we still have plans, so we don't go homeless. If ever we will go in into something
2602  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Shall we create a small chat room to communicate? on: December 21, 2022, 10:26:51 AM
I think it's better to communicate here on the forum rather then creating any telegram group which will also bring scammers to it posting fake links or say false signals pumping shitcoin for temporary period. So this is also good place as we have separate board for trading related discussions and can do the same here but if you are interested and some other members agree with you on this go ahead.

Also, you need to maintain it since there are trolls who will be posting, and imagine around a few thousands spammers will spam that chat box. How do you communicate with that? I imagine the struggle if there are a lot of users that will be joining this telegram group. I am sure if you send a message, your message will be on the top, followed by 500 messages that were also sent. It is only reasonable to create such a group if members are just a few, like a couple of hundred.
2603  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slow down if you want to recover your losses on: December 21, 2022, 09:16:09 AM
I want to share my own technique on how I overcome my loss. You can share yours too on the comment below.

I recently experienced a heated game session on blackjack that I never experienced before due to I over extent my budget to chase loss. I was down by 200$ while my current bankroll is only 100$. Typically most user will do all in to quickly recover losses but my strategy is to slow down and bet only on craps 5$ on each number. Craps has a low house edge because your only loss is when 7 appear while the rest of the number that you didn’t choose will just result as draw.

Craps pays x2+ per win which is good to slowly recovering my losses. I just continue same bet and stop gambling for a day after I recover 50$ of my bet. I keep doing this per day until I completely recover all my loss slowly and rest for the week.

The slow down bets makes me think clearly and stop me for doing risky bet. This is most important lesson I learned on this messy situation.

And most of us, when we lose all of our money, we then stop, we will not try to get back our losses. I know your strategy is working for you, but it is still risky since you will not always win, meaning if you do not win, you'll be losing more. The strategy to overcome losses is only to set a limit for yourself. When you lose, you lose you will not get it back unless you are lucky like you are talking to. If I lose (within my set limit), I immediately stop. I don't chase around my losses as I know that I will be losing more. Also, the only strategy that I use when winning is when I lose 30% of my winning (total accumulated winning), I will stop, which is enough for today.
2604  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why every casino got bad habits? on: December 21, 2022, 08:08:08 AM
Every businesses always have someone or some people that will talk shit about them even if the business is one of the best, stop acting like we don't know what we humans are capable of, your neighbor can easily develop hatred for you and you did nothing wrong, as good as Binance exchange is some people still talk crap about the exchange when they have no evidence to backed their claims.
That's why everyone should have a positive attitude. There is no point in finding negativity in anything when there are more positivity. There is no need to criticize the negativity if it is nothing major. Various categories of people in our crypto space who unnecessarily shows false allegations against something that has no justification. But it is also true that every gambling site may have some problems, it can be major or simple problem. But these problems also have suitable solutions.

You should ask this to those people who are dragging others from achieving their success or people that are telling not good things to other people just to drag them down. I also don't get why they are doing it, and I think it's because they are just jealous that others are successful and others aren't. Mostly those false allegations I noticed are that when the gambler encounters slight delays or they see small things, then they will be making it significant that the name of the casino can affect it. The mindset of that gambler wouldn't be successful.
2605  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why there are no cool games on: December 21, 2022, 02:14:48 AM
I already read it somewhere here in the forum and the example is mortal combat i think. So it would be like our childhood that we are going to other cafe just to play computer games and who ever wins they will bring the pot money . So it would be nice to integrate this online and in casino. I am sure there are already website like this but not in online casino since it is really known but what i am sure of is that players are jus negotiating in messages to settle the fight and both agreed about the terms and their pot money will be held in escrow
2606  Economy / Economics / Re: Employers are Deflating Salaries in Job Ads to keep Pay Down on: December 21, 2022, 01:20:04 AM
It really hurts when you find out this, its either this is bad management or your employer didn't see your worth. It is not the best choice to find immediately a new job if you saw this, you need to explain to your employer and also ask for raise if still they didn't give you what you've asked that is the time you'll find another work. I experienced this also currently we already asked for raise but they keep telling us next year they will so I've decided if ever no increase next year i will find another job and quit on this

Upside:
  - Potentially less spam from scammers

Downside:
  - Less privacy
  - Another government entity having access to personal data hence👇
  - More potential data breaches (very common sa bansa natin)

In general, it's a no for me.

2608  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Ronie Alonte Loisa Andalio nanakawan ng crypto on: December 19, 2022, 07:55:47 PM

Nakakatuwa lang nag speculate agad sya na mag $1 yun in future  Cheesy which is mahirap mangyari kung shiba inu nga talaga yun.

Nakakatawa, 1b coins pala hindi 1b converted to php. Crazy!

They even accept and thankful sa mga experts na tumutulong sa kanila to recover iyong crypto.

Wala silang dinisclose kung anong coin yun no ?
2609  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Throwback: Bitcoin was $64k today, a year ago. on: December 19, 2022, 07:01:06 PM
This is the most important thing cryptocurrency market trader's or investors have to know about the all time high ATH, while investing during the Dip, which is now for the bear market to feeling up the bags through buying more Bitcoin as a long term investors.
The last ATH that Bitcoin has made was priced at $68,789 on November 10, 2021 and is by far the highest price that has occurred. You are right that right now it is indeed a bear market situation and this will continue to happen until next year because it is estimated by many economic observers that the world is entering a crisis.
of course a situation like this is indeed very profitable if you have the funds to continue buying and investing in bitcoin, but you must remember that the investment time will be long, so the funds will be absorbed there for a long time.

And I just remember a lot of newbies jumping into it, and also, the NFT world has risen. I've seen a lot of posts on social media, this time speaking about bitcoin everywhere. It's because of its price, and also, some of my relatives reach out to me asking how they can earn it (easy to ask the question, but the answer is complicated), to which I respond with what the most known to earn or get bitcoin is. Then the small dump came, and I saw many newbies ranting about it and videos talking about its price, like financial advice. I was just shocked that when the price of bitcoin hits its ATH, a lot of people then get interested in it, unlike before.
2610  Economy / Economics / Re: A career - as an employee or a business owner which do you prefer and why? on: December 19, 2022, 05:50:04 PM
Currently I'm still 28 years old and I have been working for about 5 years, and I think working is a boring thing because it does not increase skills and of course a very small salary, I live near the sea and many lobster farmers, I also plan to become lobster entrepreneurs because of more income high than being an employee.

It's up to you whether you want to improve your skills or increase your salary. If you try every day and continuously improve your knowledge, skills, and efforts at work, you will also get more than what you have. You can improve those things even while you are working at the company.

Business is something most people aspire to, but it is not easy and not everyone can do it. Business needs capital, knowledge, and bravery, lobster farming is also a money-making business, it looks easy, but starting is another matter. I support your thoughts but you need to prepare everything before you begin.
You have a good point there, being employed does not stop anyone from gathering more knowledge which might be useful in earning more income if used rightly. But this could not be possible in some countries (where employment rules and conditions are strict) and with some nature of jobs. This is why it's good for everyone to plan things ahead so that they will not block their aspirations just because of a job.

Learning more skills and technical know-how is a plus advantage for anyone, it solves problems which is what makes people rich, not employment per se.

This is also my impression, but right now, in my current standing in a company, I regret that I am working hard and still haven't gotten a salary increase. To cut the story short, I've been working for a healthcare company for two years, and I worked pretty hard, and still, right now, I don't get any salary increase or bonuses. Though doing your best in a job can be fruitful if your boss sees your worth, so it is still better to do it. But improving your skills (if you still have time) is best since you can shift careers if you want to quickly.
2611  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How are Online casino's and sports betting platforms coping? on: December 19, 2022, 05:01:33 PM
They usually reduce costs, fewer promotions and lower bonuses for users. For example, two big gambling platforms I usually play have been done this a few months ago. They have decreased monthly bonuses by at least 30%, IIRC. The main issue is both parties suffer from a such decision that should be done to survive in this business mode, IMO.
Perhaps you are taking this beyond what it is. As you see casinos reducing bonuses is the same way I see some increasing bonuses to win more customers in the competitive market. Companies can increase or reduce offers irrespective of their gains/losses and economic conditions. After all, it's bonuses, and the conditions to win from them are often stringent.

What I'm saying? The global gambling industry doesn't look stressed at all, rather it's growing with an increase of $287.43 billion in 2021 to $456.61 billion in 2022. Those companies might only did as they like.

Source: Global casino

Yes because giving bonus is somehow to attract more customers or gamblers to switch from one gambling site to their casino. Even though they are giving a lot of bonuses maybe to referral or what still we can say that they are earning more because of this strategy. They can decreases monthly bonuses and make another move by creating bonuses to new players .

Primarily their bonuses are only focused on new players or newly registered accounts, and it is for them to attract new users. There are only a few bonuses to the existing user. That referral system is one of the bonuses for an existing user that you will get, but you need to persuade people. Also, there are raffles or promos. This is primarily the strategy right now as they need a lot of customers due to the economic situation right now.
2612  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My advice If you are here to make money on: December 19, 2022, 01:36:23 PM
   -  So what you want to convey is that crypto traders do this position trading that you are saying OP right? And then come back depending on the time that an individual trader chooses whether it is 1 hour, 2 hours, or more.

Although we are all here in crypto trading, we all want to make a profit every day, but it's not as easy as you say when you do it in actual trading dude. It looks easy but the truth is that it is difficult to apply that in real life.

In tutorials and articles, you can easily spot when to trade, and also, it can be quickly analyzed, but when you start to trade in the real moving market, you will see a lot of noise, and you will be confused about where to start. As always, when we practice, it can be easy, but jumping into the real market, it is difficult; that is why some of them will be creating demo accounts to practice. Earning profit daily is difficult, and it is not guaranteed you will win every day as there are days that you will lose a lot.
2613  Economy / Economics / Re: Central Bank of Nigeria to limit cash withdrawals on: December 19, 2022, 12:03:32 PM
We also have a limit on depositing and withdrawing cash in our country, but I am shocked that it was very low in Nigeria. Here in our country, we have a daily limit of $1000, which is pretty big, and if you are just an ordinary person, you can't reach the limit. We all know that they are limiting it because it's for our good, like preventing thieves from stealing our money (only a few that they can get), and also it is a give way to others so that the bank can still cater other withdrawals from other customers.
2614  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving one third what you earn monthly is not that hard, isn't it ? on: December 19, 2022, 10:39:43 AM
Once we know that the economy is getting more difficult in the future, then it's time for us to change our mindset, if previously we left 10% of our salary for investment then from now on we should be able to leave 10% for needs and the rest for investment, because with investment we can hope to get a large profit so that when it is not productive then we have no regrets.

No matter how much one is collecting as salary. 10% savings should still be encouraged. I don't think this is too much. Although it may look too small but may go a long way in the future.

It is still not applicable to others because that 10% of their salary is too big, and the remaining 90% is not enough for daily needs. It is mostly debated that no matter what your salary is, you can still save, but again I've been into trying to save, but my salary is enough for our basic needs, and I can't purchase my wants. So all will go to the items for my children, bills, and rent. The only solution for this is to add a source of income. Then that is the time you can start saving.
2615  Economy / Economics / Re: A career - as an employee or a business owner which do you prefer and why? on: December 19, 2022, 05:12:33 AM
Most people will prefer to be a business owner. I also will prefer to be a business owner. In my country here, majority are employee even though most love to be a business owner but some factor like Government policies has hinder so many in establishing a business and this make the rate of unemployment increases on daily basis.

Most will prefer to be business owners, and most will fail within the first year. The few percent that survive, will probably quit in the next few years when they realise how much work and stress it is compared to employment in a ok company. Out of that percentage, only few will succeed and be able to scale their business to earn serious money. Majority of people are simply not cut for it.
It is very obvious that must of us want to become a business owner so that we can owns companies and employ people that we world for us as the same time making millions of dollars. But because if the situation of things we don't have the capacity to move or create wealth like that since we will have to work for the money. Many if us are not born with a silver spoon so we are force to wok and make wealth by ourselves so that we can achieve whatsoever we want in life. Everyone of us want good things in life like own a big businesses and becoming boss.
i have worked as an employee and a business owner but I failed as a business owner
everything has their own challenges - when you are business owner - you have to be everything - from a cleaner to an owner. people just take the job for granted

You failed, but what is your action now? Do you continue your business or not? Well, if you are a business owner, you need to be doing it, but if you have enough profit, you can now start to hire people, but if you are starting it, you need to sacrifice. I don't know if you have already quit or not, but it is just a challenge that you need to overcome. For sure, if it is successful, then you'll be relaxing in your own office. I'll choose this stress over an office job. I was just working for my pay and the company and not the improvement of myself.
2616  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are we ever going to see this on gambling platforms some day. on: December 19, 2022, 02:59:47 AM
Is there any fighting game like Mortal Kombat where you challenge gamers around the world taking a bet? I don't want to take bet on Mike Tyson or Joshua I want gaming by one self, I believe this is less dependant on Luck, this requires more skill than mere luck.

It is a kind of E-sports or like PvP game, but you can select your opponent and not randomly. This was an excellent idea, though if we want to challenge others for sure, we should have the skills to defeat them. It would be possible in the future since, from the current gambling websites, I don't see this (or I haven't noticed it) since it is a unique idea. Though if this is implemented you should be competitive with others so that you can win the game
2617  Economy / Economics / Re: Only one way to save people now on: December 18, 2022, 03:25:41 PM
Cryptocurrencies are a great solution to make things simple and easy, we never thought that cryptocurrencies are growing fast like they are today but unfortunately many are used greedily to the point where many people cry like what happened with FTX.
true, crypto is simple and easy but what we have to be aware of is that crypto also has a high risk. as you said, for example, the incident that happened to FTX was an event that was beyond the expectations of many people and this kind of incident is one of the risks of crypto. and don't forget LUNA  Grin
So if you're not careful crypto won't be a solution but a problem.

How is crypto simple and easy? We have had a hard time learning it before and also trying to gain profit from it. The FTX incident was also hard to predict as we couldn't see any suspicious activity. The hardest thing in crypto is earning from it. When you say easy, it is about buying and selling it (not about getting profit) since it is easy to buy and sell as long as you have money, but gaining profit on it is another term. In the cryptocurrency world, many scams are happening, so we should be cautious.
2618  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Friends and Family members want me to invest for them, help! on: December 18, 2022, 02:15:31 PM
Whether such thought should come or not is different story however I would suggest you should stay away from such work. You can teach them about crypto and opportunities available in the space but you should also mention the risks present and let them do it on their own. I think that’s the best thing you can do. Even if they are not happy with your decision then also it’s entirely fine because it could be terrifying later if somehow there is loss in their trade or investment.
indeed sometimes to refuse from close relatives is very difficult to do because it will create a wrong perception, but I totally agree with you friends, it's better to tell more details about crypto, especially about the risks that will occur. it could be that they previously got the wrong information and only knew the benefits without looking at the other influences.
with the risk information that occurs, you can at least avoid the intention to be able to accept it without offending it, without having to reject it.

Refusing your relative is the best idea than accepting it, and later on, you will be saying to them that you've lost their money in a trade (and they will say something bad to you). To prevent this, refuse and try to ask them if they want to learn so that you can teach them but if not, then you have nothing to do with it. Your decision may seem bad for them, but still, in the long run, it will benefit you and them as they will not be losing money, and your self will not be stressing about it.
2619  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving one third what you earn monthly is not that hard, isn't it ? on: December 18, 2022, 01:07:11 PM
If you are in twenties or early thirties and remain single, earn $3,000 after tax per month, you will probably save $1,000 if you, let's say, spend $500 to $800 on rental, a guest bedroom in a shared house/apartment, $500 on food, $50  on utilities, $150 on phone/internet bills, $400 on commuting costs or gas/maintainance if you have a used car, $200 on occasional entertainment or others. This $1,000 savings will allow you to invest or place a house down payment when time is ripe. Is this possible based on where you live ?

It is possible where I live since we are in a third-world country and the cost of living here is too low. That $3K is already huge. Even if you have a family and have one child, you can save much more if you are single as long as you have discipline and have to save first before you spend. You can live your life to the fullest and buy things you want with that monthly income. Also, it would help if you had friends that are not a bad influence on you because that could influence you into bad habits and you will lose your income.

I am not sure if this is true or not, but I've searched on google, and there are results saying about the shopping spree, but the websites and also social media pages are something fishy. I think his wife has a reason why she bought it if, in case it is true since she is not dumb, she will be flexing her shopping. I will still not say anything as long as I've seen proof or it is coming from legit sources and also what is her reason about it.
