1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling games that gives you an exciting experience on: February 25, 2024, 12:44:52 PM
Sports betting, as you enjoy the game more than not betting on it. The experience and feelings while you watch the game, even on your TV, are very different because of your bet. You'll be having mixed emotions throughout the game, and by the time the match is finished, you'll be relieved by the result. I do also enjoy slots and crash games, but I mostly bet on sports these days.
2  Economy / Economics / Re: How can it be possible coping with one source of income on: February 24, 2024, 12:30:46 PM
Through out last year I find it hard to get things done with funds despite how my earning was and I find it hard to spend more on my bills around me , though I have been seeing some humans earning and paying bills with one source of income and I do ask myself how is it done

please your advice will be of help

For once, list all your spendings down to centavo so that you'll see where most of your money was spent. Probably you are too confident that you can buy it all because of your big salary, and you don't think now that it's enough for you. For sure, you are spending most of your money on wants like eating out at fancy restaurants or partying, and you just think that it is a small amount, but you are going every Friday, so if it sums up, you'll be shocked at the total of it.

4  Economy / Economics / Re: Food security might not be a priority for younger generations. (2) on: February 19, 2024, 12:53:50 PM
*Reposting this topic from my post in other forum.

There is a huge possibility of younger or new generations adopting cryptocurrency investments compared to them getting interests on farming and food related sectors. What do you think? Does it have a good or bad effects on our economy?

Not all, but for sure the majority, because younger generations are more exposed to tech, meaning in the online world they are always on their gadgets, and they know how high risk and high reward crypto is, and they are just thinking that they can earn it at their own comfort in their homes. But there are young people who are into farming because they grow with it like their parents taught them, meaning they want to do it as well but  with the advancement of technology, younger people want it more than doing the dirty work.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your state on mind if your son stole your money to gamble? on: February 17, 2024, 12:16:35 PM

Question: would she be so disheartened and mad as this if the son had won the bet on a multi million price?
Dear fellows, let's assume you are the mom, what would be your state of mind on this context?

Stealing is always stealing, no matter if it is your son or family members, and that should not be tolerated, so it is best to discipline your son or talk to him thoroughly about why it is not good and you are having a hard time earning that money. Though if your son won, then that is another topic because all of us would be happy because that is huge money but still make your son understand that stealing money or getting money without permission is not good.

7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Be very careful and attentive when selling your bitcoins on: February 15, 2024, 11:51:20 AM
This is really sad and you'll be pissed because it is your own fault for putting the numbers, probably he hastily sold it which is why he put the wrong number. I'm not sure if he can still get back his money, which he probably cannot. This is really a problem for those people who are not careful, because this is not like a bank where we can just raise this concern. This is my first time hearing this, as usually the error is sending it to the wrong address.
8  Economy / Economics / Re: Is increase in minimum wage a good method to fight inflation? on: February 13, 2024, 04:56:16 PM
Over time, I've heard discussions about inflation and the rising cost of goods and services across almost every sector on the world economy.
However, suggestions have been made in various ways on how best to tackle the menace called Inflation. Recently I have personally thought that one of the ways to fight inflation in an economy is to increase minimum wage. More so there has been a back and forth argument on these, as some persons argue that the increase in minimum wage will rise the bar on commodities, because they feel hence you increase the purchasing powers, it will have a multiplier effect on the economy which might be challenging.

So guys, is increase in minimum wage not a good measure to fight inflation. Let's have your opinion.

It will also increase the number of people spending or purchasing stuff, which also means the demand goes higher, and we know that the price also goes up. Though if we see it from our own perspective, it is really helpful but in the long run we can still feel that it has no effect as the price still goes up and our increase will be eaten again by the expensive stuff. The only way to fight inflation by ourselves is to cut spending and add income, that is the only way and  let the government do its job.
9  Other / Off-topic / Re: Having a regular/steady income is important as a gambler. on: February 11, 2024, 12:22:58 PM
Gambling though is a risky game that the chances of winning and losing is in equilibrium but however in other for one to have a possibility of winning, it requires a steady income.

Having a steady and regular income is very important as a gambler because it would enable you to scrap out money you should use for gambling, feeding, taking care of yourself and family and other miscellaneous.

A gambler who has a steady and regular income can have the possibility of winning because his gambling habit can not affect his personal obligations as a man even if he's an addict because being addicted to gambling doesn't actually implies that one will eventually stake all his money on bets but rather someone who plays gambling frequently. By having a steady income, he can take care of other life responsibilities without being affected by his gambling activities and moreover, someone who have a stable income can be aiming to win higher amount in his bets and might be lucky of winning one day and use the money to establish an investment.

Your thoughts on this

You should also add enough income, like you still have spare money to gamble, because right now there are a lot of people who have stable and regular jobs, but their salary is not enough, it is only good for their needs and their promotions are far from true so having a enough salary and not living paycheck to paycheck can make you more likely to gamble even if you lose on that bet because you are not spending money that is supposed to be budgeted to others unless you are addicted, which is another story.
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you beleive in the concept of "Luck"? on: February 09, 2024, 01:49:46 PM
Hello everyone!

Recently, I was thinking about the concept of luck in my life and how lucky I am. And I wondered how other people, especially gamblers, perceive this concept.

It would be interesting to read your thoughts.

You can answer these questions, for example:

  • Do you believe in Luck? If so, how do you describe your perception of this concept?
  • How lucky do you think you are from 1 to 10?
  • Does your sense of luck in regular life correlate with your luck in gambling?
  • Do you believe that some special things or actions can increase your luck?

And do not hesitate to share any other thoughts about it. Let's discuss!

I do believe in luck but I am not that lucky because mostly bad luck attracts me like first-time betting on a team that has a high percentage of winning turns out to be a loss, and also because I haven't won any raffles (physically) that I am very interested in even like a few participants and there are a lot of prizes. Though there are really days that I would say that I don't expect to be winning I still win and I will say that it's because of the luck. I don't have any luck talismans but I believe in them.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think gambling every day is better? on: February 08, 2024, 01:00:58 PM
If he is used to gambling every day, he will feel that something is missing from his day when he cannot gamble on a certain day. And that can make him sad or disappointed or other negative feelings. He needed other activities that could take his mind off gambling.
He couldn't gamble every day. He also didn't know when he would be able to win so gambling every day could make him lose a lot of money.
It's the same as a big addict. Usually things like that have become their daily diet. The addict doesn't care about himself and even prefers to sit all day on the gambling bench, so it all depends on how much money he has to gamble every day, after all, only people have money. There are quite a few people who often gamble than entrepreneurs or established people, because their mindsets are very different so, in conclusion, people like that are mostly from the lower class, not from the upper or middle class.

Most middle to upper-class people do gamble rarely because of their time and cannot gamble on a daily basis, but they do bet big where like us poor people,we have plenty of time  like after work we can do it while we rest as we can do it on our phones or even pass by the casino. Also the mindset of people like us lower-income people is that we can get lucky and win a huge amount to buy something and we know that we cannot get it from our salary so we would try our chance at those gambling.

13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does BTC mean to you? on: February 05, 2024, 12:21:36 PM
Hello, Everyone

I'll keep this short.

What does BTC mean to you?

Some may say freedom others  say hope in a world of restriction, love to hear your responses.
It actually does mean everything to me and my family. Without me knowing about Bitcoin I and my family won't be able to survive the hardships we had. Bitcoin really gaves us the chance to achieve financial freedom if used properly and skillfully. There were for me never ending opportunities with Bitcoin if we really are willing and have the desire to explore it

This is the most common answer among all of us, even myself, because it helped me financially and also got me to know about finance, as we know that from the start we are just spending and spending, so it made me aware of my finances. Also, Bitcoin has given me experience with those things that I wasn't able to do, like eating at expensive restaurants and buying those stuff that we couldn't afford. With this opportunity, we should maximize it and learn more from it so that we can utilize its uses and take advantage of it.
14  Economy / Economics / Re: Quitting Smoking Has Two Big Benefits. on: February 03, 2024, 02:15:15 PM
It is really a huge help to yourself if you stop because we know it's expensive and also your health is at risk as well as that of your family. But that is for you because we know that the government imposes huge taxes on cigarettes and liquor to prevent or even stop people from buying them, but people won't stop so the government is earning huge taxes from them and using them to develop the economy (let's just not talk about corruption). So it would be a big loss if all of the people stopped buying them, but I didn't say to buy them anyway, but there are effects on them as well economically.
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To what extent have you hated yourself due to your gambling losses? on: February 02, 2024, 02:56:43 PM
In your entire gambling journey, have you ever had a series of losses to the extent you hated yourself so much for being so unlucky?

Just in today's lottery as we do have a lottery game in our country to guess 3 numbers. If you are correct you will win and I will say that you will win a decent amount of money. Today I haven't been able to bet because of my laziness due to the weather, and guess what that number that I've been betting on since January was the result. So I was mad earlier today, which caused me to do house chores rather than sleep. But this is really gambling as it is not my lucky day so we should also learn to accept our losses.

7. men underwear index - men especially singles don't mind wearing underwear with a couple of holes in it, no one sees it anyway. men buy less underwear during economic downturns.

This is funny but it is true because this is what I've noticed mostly in my relatives who are earning minimum. Usually other relatives will say to buy a new underwear as it has holes in it but they always say that it is still in good condition because they have no budget for it and they prioritize their needs. I can relate to this as sometimes when it is still not needed to buy I won't purchase it because I do want to put more budget on food due to its high price.
18  Economy / Economics / Re: Passion for skills. on: January 30, 2024, 03:08:48 PM
Big tip for anyone that wants to try it out, do a self-assessment, what you're constantly or consistently doing right now could possibly be a good starting point for you choose a passion or a skill to learn, for example, you're having fun reading then you're probably better off finding and learning skills that's closely related to that hobby which is reading, maybe you can apply as a teacher, a storyteller, a writer or maybe even an editor. That's a big step imo, self-assessment combined with your will to learn a new skill, then you'll be doing fine.

Very good point made here. Just because you heard that you should learn a skill, or see the need to learn one doesn’t mean that you should do it blindly. It is crucial to start by evaluating your own self. What are your hobbies, what do you like doing with all that free time? Is it something that can eventually make money? How good are you at it? This will help avoid the mistakes of regret tomorrow. Many people today don’t like their job because they went into the wrong niche.

I also noticed this because others just blindly picked those skills that are high-paying jobs, like coding. A lot of people want it mainly because of the salary, but when they start they don't have the courage to continue it or lack the motivation because they don't enjoy it so finding the right niche for you is best so that you can learn it easily and you can finish it. Right now, the tech stack is really crowded because everyone is wanting to learn it but let's see who can really survive on learning it.
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When I'm emotional, I LOSS! on: January 28, 2024, 01:30:42 PM
Hey, guys! Are any of you emotional gamblers who often lose because you can't control what you feel? When you lose, do you tend to double your bets or chase your losses, driven by a pride that can't accept defeat? Do you consider this a problem? If so, has anyone here been able to solve this kind of problem themselves, and if yes, how did you do it?

I have this problem, and based on my personal experience, I find that sometimes I get challenged but not too greedy because I don't have a problem quitting when I'm winning. However, when I'm losing, that's where my struggle lies.

That's why I shared it here; I feel that some of you may experience the same challenges, and I'd love to hear your ideas or experiences on how to win this battle so we can enjoy gambling.

Lots of people experienced this, even myself at first when I was just new to gambling, and this kind of behavior is difficult to manage, mostly controlling it unless you have really a will to stop it by learning it in your own way. Like myself, I keep chasing my losses when I first gamble, but when I taste the first of my big losses because of chasing them, that is the time I realized that it is not good, so I changed my perspective and I just gamble based on my budget.
