I cannot imagine how you alone could prevent a similar terrorist attack...other than avoiding the shopping centers (or any other terrorist target). So far the best way is stopping providing ideas to terrorist. If you would prepare yourself for an ebola outbreak other solution are at hand: http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2014/10/06/how-survivalists-in-america-are-plannning-their-escape-from-ebola-apocalypse-right-now/?tid=trending_strip_4.
I think their shopping list could be useful enough.

Terrorist probably already have their own plans/ideas and I would be surprised to find that they are reading forums like this. However I still doubt the viability of such an attack in our environment with our hygienic standards. To be honest I'm more concerned because of the big pharma companies, as they can use such an opportunity to persuade governments about mandatory vaccinations so they can push their untested and probably harmful crap to us.
2602  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Anyone following the ebola outbreak? on: October 14, 2014, 11:06:32 AM
Actually such a thread's posts should be kept under national security surveillance. IMHO, I think you dudes are going a bit too far here.

Just my 2 satoshi.

Well, you are right, but if I don't evaluate all the possible issues I could suddenly find myself on a Baggies-Wolves match, or even worse in a shopping center with my wife right before Christmas and only God knows what could happen to me there Smiley.
2603  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Reddit’s science forum banned climate deniers. on: October 14, 2014, 10:54:25 AM
WASHINGTON—In a worrying development that could have dire implications for the health of the planet, a report published Wednesday by the Environmental Protection Agency suggests that the number of climate change skeptics could reach catastrophic levels by the year 2020.

According to the agency’s findings, the rising quantity and concentration of individuals who willfully deny or downplay the ruinous impact of the ongoing climate crisis will no longer be manageable by the end of the decade, leading to disastrous consequences for global ecosystems that may well prove irreversible.

http://www.theonion.com/articles/report-climate-change-skeptics-could-reach-catastr,36521/

Maybe there's a remedy for common sense. TV doesn't seems to work any longer... Well, involving the army make sense now Smiley. Guantanamo will be stuffed with deniers, I guess.
2604  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Anyone following the ebola outbreak? on: October 14, 2014, 10:37:51 AM
Hm. Actually, you might be on to something. If the martyr were to explode himself from the inside with grenades, there'd be ebola-carrying gore splattered everywhere. What if he goes to a concert (ehhh... one of those mosh pits or whatever they're called, where they all stand around each other) and blows himself up? It could spark a pandemic. I doubt any first responders would think to check if the guy who blew himself up was infected with ebola, so you could have hundreds of people going about their daily routine for maybe 2-4 days before there's a massive round-up.

ETA: Okay. -So you have two guys go in, at least one infected with ebola. The first guy gets tossed up into the air by the second guy - or maybe only one guy who uses a trampoline - and they try to time it where the guy explodes when he's fairly high up. I'm not sure how far out his parts or blood would go, but I'd guess there'd be a way to get a majority.

Blowing up themselves on a high place like those big lights in football stadiums would do the job. In an indoor arena that could be even more effective. As a minimalist solution climbing to a lamp post clothed as Santa with a big backpack (loaded with "gifts" for the infidels) around Christmas in a busy shopping alley could work as well. I guess for days ppl across the globe would laugh at the stupid lame terrorists whom blown up themselves instead of their victims...
2605  Other / Politics & Society / Re: why do we not have a poverty coin yet? on: October 14, 2014, 10:04:18 AM
donate a miner to each family in poverty

A beginning is missing from this sentence.

Who donates a miner to each family in poverty?

And by "donate" do you mean at the point of a gun?

Of course he doesn't. Leftists never mean "at the point of a gun".... at first... and if you do what they saying... but they are pragmatic and willing to adapt to the situation Smiley.
2606  Other / Politics & Society / Re: why do we not have a poverty coin yet? on: October 14, 2014, 09:34:13 AM
Cant the world's 6 billion support 1.3 billlion in extreme poverty using crypto coins?
every passing day I believe in bitcoin for its power to liberate the poor from capitalist world that cares less about people 'born poor'.

Wrong assumption. Bitcoin isn't something for liberating the "poor from capitalist world". Actually BTC as a libertarian idea is a very much capitalist stuff.

Quote
donate a miner to each family in poverty and support the mined 'liberate-coins' by using/promoting them in developed countries
I really feel helpless waking up everyday for not being able to execute this. How can we make it happen?
when dogecoin exists with community support, why not liberate coin...

Then you should create an altcoin what is merged mined with some of the mainstream coins. If miners want to support your idea, they can mine it.
BTW if you mean taxing, that would be the complete opposite of everything BTC have been created for.
2607  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Anyone following the ebola outbreak? on: October 13, 2014, 02:40:41 PM

Perhaps you don't really have a handle on the mechanism of operation here.
Its not about # of deaths, its about amount of terror (government over-reaction in response to politically motivated violence).

Wars were started over a little over 3000 deaths on 9/11.

Flu virus just doesn't have the effect.

OK, you are right, nobody will be scared because of flu even if it's more effective, however as Ebola isn't very easy to transmit in a well developed country a few terrorists can cause only very limited issues what the government can easily cover up. Certainly if the govt already want to impose martial law for it's own advantage then these guys would be the perfect cause.
2608  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Spot a faulty ideology on: October 13, 2014, 02:18:13 PM
About modern Democracy, it doesn't fit in a single point of the list. Democracy is a hollow ideology, all it states is to let people vote. The parts you are referring to as fitting the list are the political parties that reside inside a Democracy.

Agree not really an ideology more like a framework. But:

- This framework is portrayed as the best available system and solution for almost everything.
- This framework provides ready made models (quite natural for a framework).
- This framework is portrayed as a paradise as opposed to the autocratic systems, and there are always some sort of evil antidemocratic or irresponsible economic   groups to blame for its poor performance.
- This framework handling "non compliant" elements on not a same but a similar way as any other ideology. The only differences are using legal, economic and social "violence" instead of waterboarding and "corrective hard labor". But nowadays as ppl who leaving or attempting to leave the ideology are often condemned as domestic terrorist or extremists.
- This framework "states people has to be compelled" or democracy will be exported. By force if needed...

Soooooo... I'm afraid our mighty western democratic framework isn't that far from any random rogue ideologies than it should be... or your list isn't complete yet Smiley.
Probably any human made or human propagated ideology fits to this list. I think mathematics and physics are the only good "ideologies", but not quite that amusing for the average believer/voter Smiley.
2609  Other / Politics & Society / Re: An eye opening about Climate change that need to be shared with you. It's FUN on: October 13, 2014, 01:48:32 PM
When it has happened in the past it generally wipes out most life on Earth. No reason to think it will be different this time. Silly humans, always thinking the rules do not apply to them. Time to get schooled by mother nature.

Where did you heard this silliness? The most thriving periods of life on earth with the biggest variety of plant and animal species were those warm periods. According to the geologic records the average temperature was 10-15 degrees higher than today and the atmospheric CO2 content sometimes was as high as 4000 ppm. At the end of the Pliocene the CO2 level was the same as today the temperature as well, and that was the start of a cold period what was the coldest time since the Permian and caused the still ongoing quaternary extinction event what wiped out most of the megafauna from the Earth. (The man made Holocene extinction is an addition to that.) Some 20000 years ago this three million years long cold period have ended and now Earth warming up.

BTW that very very scary omg +200m not counting with all the water what will evaporate because of the higher temperature. Also not counting with that amount of water what will be consumed and stored by plants.
2610  Other / Politics & Society / Re: China Just Overtook The US As The World's Largest Economy on: October 13, 2014, 12:04:54 PM
Figure alone can be misleading. Need to take effectiveness and efficiency into consideration also.
The US is able to spend their defense dollars more efficiently then China. The US generally has more advanced military technology so each additional dollar spent is able to purchase weapons that can produce more damage.

Also the US has been spending vast amounts of money on defense for much longer then China has so it already has stockpiles of weaponry and technology to use if necessary
[/quote]

China don't need to spend that much on defense. Attacking China would be a costly war and that would be the mutually assured destruction of the world economy for at least a decade, therefore the attackers would shot themselves in the leg.
(Not to mention that Russia has close ties to China so they would likely to be pissed off.)

At this point China only needs to build up technologically, keep strengthening it's own economy and to establish the means of their power projection for the future. The USA will bleed out economically within a few decades and will have to introduce some new, more introverted policies for sorting out it's own problems. That will be time when China can start spreading her influence over the word without getting involved in costly clashes with other power centers.
2611  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Anyone following the ebola outbreak? on: October 13, 2014, 10:46:57 AM
It seems to be spreading without anyone trying, are you thinking there is very little chance that it could be worse than it is now if the virus conscripts human wickedness in its war on humanity?

Sneezing and coughing on crowded buses/trains/events.   Yes, they could do that first.

I don't really believe in this. Ebola supposedly killed 4000 people in nearly one year. (Please note that lots of cases were only suspected to be ebola, but no rock solid proof for that.) In addition those places are the poorest countries on the world, right after some civil wars, no sanitation, contaminated tap water, poor hygienic standards,  poor health care system, incompetent authorities. I think those bio-terrorists would be more successful even by spreading flu. That kills 250000-500000 ppl worldwide each year.

Quote
They really haven't anything to sell yet.

I'm sure they will turn up with something pretty soon if there will be enough demand. If can't then they can pull Tamiflu and Relenza out of the hat again as wide spectrum antiviral drugs Smiley.
2612  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Spot a faulty ideology on: October 13, 2014, 10:20:49 AM

  • A faulty ideology always present itself as the solution to everything, it's like the swiss army knife of ideologies.
  • It always present ready made "solutions" for everything, never presents guidelines or principles.
  • It would be paradise under that ideology, but... there's always an evil counter-part on which they blame for their ideology's poor performance.
  • It requires a set of fanaticism, including death threats, violence or coercion to anyone leaving or attempting to leave the ideology
  • It states people has to be compelled, often by force, to accept such ideology

Well, this list above fits for practically all ideologies religions and political systems in human history. Including our very advanced western type democratic system Smiley.
2613  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Anyone following the ebola outbreak? on: October 13, 2014, 10:11:26 AM
BTW how can we know if this isn't just the latest WHO/pharma scam like the swine flu "pandemic" a few years ago?
Ebola is a fine candidate to spread fear and sell tons of stuff again.
2614  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Anyone following the ebola outbreak? on: October 13, 2014, 10:01:28 AM
The bubonic plague did work for the mongols. Killing 1/3 of the population of europe. If ISIS use ebola as a weapon I don't think this will not work for them. Ebola just infected an american nurse in dallas without the terrorist help how much more if the terrorists is added to the equation.

Probably trying to spread ebola wouldn't be a great success. How these infected terrorist can inject their bodily fluids into many people without being noticed? Sneezing and coughing on crowded buses or trains? Yes that could do some harm but I think they would be more effective with a few dozens of traditional hand grenades.
2615  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Philippine Government E-Peso Proposal on: October 13, 2014, 09:48:36 AM
Apparently, The Philippine Government made a proposal to make a shit altcoin for the country
centralizing it and defeating the purpose of a cryptocurrency.

More info @
http://btcvice.com/philippine-government-proposes-official-altcoin/

http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2j0cqg/the_epeso_bill_proposal_in_its_current_form_could/

Even a government backed centralized coin can raise awareness about cryptoes and once ppl aware of it they might want to know more. So eventually this coin could be an good thing for us.

2617  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: headless pumped you with me and we went to da moon together FTW ! on: October 10, 2014, 01:22:41 PM
How often do we here about stuff like that vs superficial gimmick crap features ?

That sounds great and i almost wish i had some GoldCoins LOL
i have not had any GLD since mid-last year'ish back when headless was pumping it days.
hmm what ever happened to him ? or should i say what other user names does he have in the scene ? hmm ?

Those (cryptsy) IFC and GLD pumps etc back then were legendary !
these noobs here never seen an entire exchange pump a coin in perfect unison all working together.. it was amazing and i knew it then.
and i also never seen anything close to repeating ever again on any exchange since.. regardless of how much the noobs throw the word pump around
nubs don't know what a REAL pump is  Roll Eyes

Are you aging mate? Getting sentimental Smiley? Nostalgic toughs about the past pumps and dumps Smiley? BTW headless was really good. I'm still using many of his trading advices.
2618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] State Of Crypto ? on: October 10, 2014, 01:04:44 PM
In this case I have to agree with Digitalindustry. This spawning pool here provided solutions for many crypto issues and turned up with lots of innovations. I know the BTC-nazis like to look down on alts but just look around here. You can see distributed exchanges, distributed classifies, distributed corporations, voting systems, new (useful) hashing algos, blockchain based chat and IM, alternative DNS, improved anonymity, new distribution ideas, many many innovative stuff.
In addition this is not only about technology but many other aspects of cryptos. Take a look at Doge. Doge is a perfect example how to do some successful  marketing for cryptos. Just compare the doge guys to the Bitcoin Foundation. Those BF blokes are still busy with bailing out themselves, their friends and business partners caught on scamming and bargaining about who's gonna suck who's dick and what will get in exchange. In the meantime 99% of the world population have no idea about wtf is bitcoin.

So yes, many things here are a disgrace, but probably thats the price what we have to pay for the goodies. If we accept the comfort of sitting in cars we have to accept the related accidents as well. And yes, we have to work on decreasing the numbers of accidents, but scrapping all cars for eliminate accidents is not the right solution. Don't throw out the baby with the bath water.
2619  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 4 ISIS Militants poisoned by local Iraqi civilian on: October 10, 2014, 11:56:56 AM
Why are the turks so much of cowards having tanks on the border watching people die..

Turks have had good or at least neutral relationship with IS, they having a bad relationship with Kurds, they probably don't want to piss of IS and see them fighting on their own soil.
One more reason. Until IS fighting there nobody will build a new pipeline from Iran to Syria through the Kurdish territory in north Iraq, therefore nobody will compete with their own pipeline network Smiley.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geologic_temperature_record

As you can see in the graphs above and in the wiki article this man-made global warming stuff seems to be BS. During the most thriving periods of life the global average temperature and the CO2 levels were much higher than today. We are at the end of a cold period, and now Earth warming up. Period.
