I'm calling this one "Quick, I need to sell now, so I can buy back later and have moar coins".

No clue about any of this stuff, but thank you guys for working on this. I think it's important to have this sorted out before adoption and use gets really heavy.

I doubt that we will break below 6$, as it provides some good resistance. Probably reverse somewhere between 6.05$ and 6.3$, back to 6.6$. If we can produce a new high above that 7.00$ and more is in plain sight. If we break below 6.0$, the 5.4$-5.6$ range would provide further resistance.
Here we go! Everyone who bought bitcoins wants to get more bitcoins, but nobody wants to buy into the asks, so everyone who recently bought bitcoins will sell because everyone else who bought bitcoins wants to sell to get more bitcoins. This sort of thing has typically moved pretty strongly against upward movement, and I think its force has been stronger over the past year and is going to continue to lead to long periods of downward movement with long periods of leveling off after dramatic rises. So, back into the 5s, level off, slowing creep up and bounce around, and then maybe break $6.60 and test the 2012 high. This will likely happen over months.

We're probably going to see an acceleration of attempts to take profit and/or increase positions since the short term price is clearly trending down now. I think we'll see an over correction into the 5s and maybe below that before the price goes any higher. And, again, I still think we've already seen the 2012 high.

This problem highlights the biggest selling feature of bitcoin - you can control your own medium of exchange/store of value (like gold), but it's digital, and when appropriate measures are taken, more secure than physical assets.

It's really incredible to consider how well suited bitcoin is for this.

I think bitcoin will have its 'Napster' moment the way mp3 sharing did with the RIAA.
This means that the government/banks will have a complete and utter freak out once they realize bitcoin is routing around all their carefully placed restrictions and fees. The curious prodding of three letter agencies aside, the real shoe-drop moment will be when sovereign institutions have outright bans on transfer of money toward bitcoin interests, perhaps with stiff legal penalties.
I'd rather not have this occur, but once anyone of reasonable power fully understands what is going on, the only way to stop the bleeding is to contain the fiat currency from being converted. Hopefully, it will be way too late to really stop anything, as I'd like to see the bitcoin economy go toward full bitcoin-to-bitcoin transactions, and less currency exchange on the periphery. I think that if and when bitcoin reaches the point where the agents of governments really devote time to specifically target it, it will be too late and its adoption in System D will have irreversibly entrenched it economic life.

Maybe this guy has another $250,000 where that came from?
Count on it! I've seen that strategy before. Put up a giant wall. Let it get sold into. Then buy into the asks and hope you can get the guy that sold to you to buy back in a panic and push the price up really high.

My bet on the biggest reason is the media blitz regarding the flow of money from EUR to BTC. In fact the articles themselves were of the "buy bitcoins" kind.
The funny thing about that is that there wasn't really much evidence that Europeans were moving into bitcoin any more than before. Those articles, if they did anything, created the movement on which they were attempting to report.

I was just wondering about him, too. Anyone know anything?

You can withdraw from MtGox... it just takes a few weeks/months/years...
well than people should start trying other exchanges Keyur says: CampBX has the best priced Bitcoins right now... $5.99! We have been consistently lower than MtGox price over last week because sellers are loving our same-day withdrawals. I deposited money into CampBX, bought Bitcoins, and was not allowed to withdraw them the same day. How many days did it take?

The guys at CampBX have developed a pretty nice platform and I'd love to see their volume go way up.

Admittedly, I haven't always been the most mature person around here and I'm sure I've said some things that have offended people, but that was pretty harsh.
I think I agree with this, if they were just taking the BTC and running why the fuck would they still be hanging out here taking the abuse? They have a scrambled db and 10,000 motherfuckers trying to scam them. Yeah, I really don't think there's anything nefarious going on. I do think there's some confusion between the managers, as we have gotten some conflicting reports. I think Amir has expressed one of the biggest reasons for the delay, and it has to do with the nature of bitcoin - once they send them out, there's no going back. I think it's the right thing to do to be as confident as possible, and it's a shame (but totally unsurprising) that people polluted the claims process with bogus claims. I actually underestimated my claim because it had been so long since I logged in and I couldn't remember what it was exactly, and I didn't want to overshoot it and appear to be trying to take advantage of the fact that they were missing so much data. So, even if I get back 100% of my claim, I won't be getting back all the bitcoins I had in there.

Bruce Wagner said: Yes, the "run on the bank" is real. ( No one wants to sell on MtGox if they can't get their USD out, so it's all buyers and no sellers over there. )
Thus, the price is artificially inflated at MtGox.
The MtGox "Last Price" is not a valid reflection of the free market value of a Bitcoin. It is skewed by the situation where sellers are refusing to sell on MtGox... if they can't get their USD out.
But since everyone looks at the MtGox price as the defacto Bitcoin price, all the other exchanges values are also affected.
As I said, I predict that it will pass $10.00 per Bitcoin..... before the MtGox price finally crashes.
is this true, on one can withdraw USD on MtGox? When did he say that?

Also, has anyone received ANYTHING back or are these just stalling tactics until they can really pack their Interbags too Unless they all change their names (as in Christian Names/First Names etc) and begin life once again under assumed identities, I couldn't see anyone belonging to the Bitcoinica Consultancy or financially tied to them in any way, shape or form, EVER being given the chance to handle the informed public's money ever again. This has been 'Stalling-101' at it's finest....but then again, what do ANY of them have to look forward to after this is finally over and done with ? Bitcoinica 2.0 3.0 ? As far as their futures in Finance and Technology, I wouldn't trust any of these clowns with the pocket change found in between the cushions of my couch or the management of a blank/empty USB thumbdrive. I am sure there are a few proud families out there, somewhere in the world tonight....that's for sure. It's just too bad that they can't see this first hand and see what the fruits of their loins have accomplished in life. Admittedly, I haven't always been the most mature person around here and I'm sure I've said some things that have offended people, but that was pretty harsh.

Don't forget to change the size for our small screened brethren.
I'm on a 1920x1080p HDTV and it still looks ugly? Open image in new tab. 1080p. (Minus some cropping) Some people don't have as high resolution displays.
