2601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Buy more ETH..... on: July 04, 2023, 05:30:54 PM
Looking at effective price of altcoins ETH has not really record a bad history and very soon ETH will hit way bigger and better, if you have sphere money buy plenty of it and allow it to run for five years and watch what the outcome will be.

I hope you are not giving professional advise. Anyway what you have said is not far from the truth. Etheruem has really been under estimated or under priced given that it has coins under its blockchain which is suppose to be a boost in price for it. Back in ico days, almost all the coins that existed five years ago where erc20. Also, etheruem as the leader of altcoins have not had a separate bull run outside from bitcoin so I'm still expecting that to happen and optimistic is going to be a turn around to the real value of etheruem.
2602  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do 90% of Bettors Lose in Sports Betting in the Long-term? on: July 04, 2023, 04:23:40 PM
Sports betting doesn't really involve guess work. I think this aspect of betting is more dependent on analysis of the games to be played if it is football etc, you go for the previous performance, head to head and many other analytical factors to have a reason to bet in favour of a particular team. i don't believe sports betting involves mathematical models based on probabilities that is out of the more practical experience in the past. However, it is not only sports betting that has such losing rate but it is across the games including casinos.
2603  Other / Politics & Society / Re: World social media day. on: July 04, 2023, 02:42:36 PM

   Not withstanding at the same time we have equally had situations in which social media has helped aspiring individuals to reach their aims and goals. Further more many celebrities around the world today  has accumulated more wealth through social media as well, so I ask;

Social media for me has done more good than evil. The rate of poverty would have been more if not for social media but more youths have tapped from the benefits of social media. At least Mark Zuckerberg's age is within the youth age and he is rich from creating Facebook. Many other entrepreneurs social media platforms are making the world an entertaining place to be, Snapchat, YouTube, content creation, jobs accessibility online, gaming and casinos etc. All those and more are courtesy social media. The list of benefit is endless and moreover communication which seem to be very important in the day to day activities of mankind are all made more fostered through social media.

So far from various individuals views would you say that social media has made more negative impact than the positive side?
Let's get your thoughts.

This is mostly the government view that social media is producing negative results especially countries from third world or the ones that are known as technologically less developed. These government don't want to be criticized, they want to keep riding on the soldiers of the people and they don't want dissenting opinion or voice but they also forget that some of their policies get to the people through same social media. It is just a case of speaking with different side of the mouth.
2604  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Invest small money and get big money avoid them. on: July 04, 2023, 01:53:01 PM

He said they contact him through phone call and gave him the instruction that they will be the one to help him invest the money and return the profit to my friend.

Yes na abi na you want invest the money? Abi you fit scam yourself? Lol. Scammers dey always catch people wey dey greedy. Them say na the person wey water see him leg him dey carry, meaning if you begin listen to somebody wey want scam you, you don create chance for him to try scam you.

Oya na check this kind message but some people go still reply the message if not for anything because them wan see whether na scam or whether the person go fit scam them. Na that thing wey I still talk say na persin wey water see him leg him dey carry.

Even two days ago, I get text message too say dem don review my CV, say my salary na 20k daily. I no dey even recheck message like that, na to just delete am.
2605  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: New KuCoin kyc policy!!! on: July 04, 2023, 01:14:40 PM
KuCoin talk say then go make kyc mandatory for new members wey just dey create account with them, so if you be new member you go need complete your verification before you go fit dey use your account, no be like before wey you no need submit any documents before you go fit use KuCoin. Also old accounts wey register before 15 July go need complete their kyc also, if you no submit your documents, then plenty things go dey wey u no go fit do. So incase if we never complete our kyc and we get money for our KuCoin, make we do am now to avoid unnecessary story, and if you see say you no fit submit your document, then make we move our money commot for d exchange.

Wetin we go understand about this KYC be say na way wey dem don begin regulation so e no suppose to be new thing now, make everybody ready for am. This kucoin own now wey dem dey talk about new people na because dem just dey fresh so dem just say make dem kukuma catch dem young so that if you no want you go just carry your self comot. So KYC na for everybody whether new intake or those wey don begin with them.

On a normal level the thing suppose dey go phase by phase until all man go complete am or for those wey no want do am, if them time expire to provide those kyc requirements, dem fit just block dem or dem no go allow dem withdraw.
2606  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Can BTC or crypto users play politics in Nigeria? on: July 04, 2023, 12:06:34 PM
OP all that no be problem. Nigeria no dey exist for vacuum na people be Nigeria, even some politicians wey know how far dey run the crypto package. The government go only regulate the exchanges if dey want like them don dey put eyes for binance now. Some men no dey hide am say dem be cryptocurrency analyst so those people self na public figure. Me I don listen to so many like that wey dey analyse for channels television.

As time goes on, there will definitely be some crypto users that would hold public offices in Nigeria. Everything will happen naturally like evolution.

No cause for alarm for wetin op dey ask my guy. Things dey happen naturally only if you dey ready to grab am. You must live ready for time to come meet you. Anybody wey dey inside crypto runs fit aspire for any political position for the country, in fact e go even make sense self so that those people go follow liberalize the system for me. This one wey CBN dey do with account wey dey with binance no go dey happen.
2607  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Dangote Advices Nigerian Entrepreneurs. on: July 04, 2023, 08:49:07 AM

I consider him one of Africa's greatest entrepreneurs mostly with the completion of Africa's biggest refinery, in Lagos. It is an enormous achievement by a true visionary.

Guy make you leave that thing abeg. Forget about that dangote do this or that for Nigeria as Nigeria take be. If you be newbie here, e no mean say you be newbie for naija. Even small pikin don know wetin dey go on.

About that him refinery wey be biggest for Africa with 650,000 barrel capacity daily, we don hear as things take dey happen around him and "his" refinery. Soon now him go soon enter railway building  Grin and we go still say him build railway. Me no just like the way things dey go with the open cabal system. If banks, government and all the politicians put hand for one man dey lift am up plus policies wey dey favour him, make we self dey see road because pesin no go keep him own eyes for house and take our own eyes dey see road.

and am asking it here to know what we feel he should have added to the advice of reinvesting, besides saving or not buying real estate abroad?

This is the discussion over the radio on Max FM this morning.

Make him one dey advise Nigerian government say make dem build refinery too na. Say make dem refurbish those wey dem say wey dey to dey work well.
2608  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bicycle fit be the game changer on: July 03, 2023, 10:37:08 PM

My brother no look am only in the angle of poverty. Make you consider the health benefit too. Even for Oyibo country like Netherlands, Bicycle plenty wella and even people wey chop belle full dey use am with pride. E go even shock you  to know say every person inside the Netherlands get at least two bicycle according to this article: https://www.hollandcyclingroutes.com/

We no doubt say oyibo dey use bicycle take do their kind of shuttle movement but those places their government do road well wey dey give everyone ease of movement. If you want use bicycle there you dey sure say no tricycle or motor go hit you on to say every one get their lane but for naija e no be the same thing.. The challenge for this country full truck remain. Even some west African countries self organise pass naija, I no even talk of South and East Africa.
2609  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does lottery rewards expire? on: July 03, 2023, 09:27:39 PM

So now, answer this question: what do you prefer, finding in a drawer an old lottery ticket dated last year and worth 100 millions, or a hardware wallet you forgot about in 2015 which contains 3 BTC? Many people don't know that lottery tickets expire, so I hope that after reading this thread you know the right answer.

This thread is very educative because I have seen some bettors who don't know about the topic, they feel if you have a winning lottery tickets that you can stay until eternity before going to cash it but that is false and this thread has become an eye to most that are not knowledgeable about it.

However for your moreorless easy puzzle that you want to unravel  Grin if the lottery ticket is dated last year and we are on the 7th month this year which means there is possibility that the ticket may have expired because most lottery ticket don't stay longer than 6 months. So with the analysis of the chances of the ticket expiring, I would go for the 3BTC.

On the second analysis, if the ticket has not expired then I will go for 100 million (I assume this is $100,000,000). So I will use the money to invest in more btc .
2610  Economy / Gambling / Re: Is Stake.com allowed to lock account with $6,000 untill I lose it all? on: July 03, 2023, 08:18:08 PM

Handing out KYC documents is not too much of a big deal,  if you don't have anything to hide like users in the US have been facing this level of restriction and verification demand since most casinos in that region are regulated.

I think some reasons that people are layed back from going through KYC is if they feel they can bypass it or when it is not a strict law that everyone is used to like the US you mentioned.

If a jurisdiction has made regulation a law, that means every other casino opening up in that country mandates KYC and bettors will get that knowledge already before opening an account that they must give themselves to KYC as prerequisite then it should settle the whole up and down about issues with not allowed to withdraw funds because of lack of kyc verification.
2611  Economy / Gambling / Re: Is Stake.com allowed to lock account with $6,000 untill I lose it all? on: July 03, 2023, 07:25:27 PM

It is indeed unfair to the players to be subject to endless KYC processes and this mostly happens when the customer wants to either withdraw or deposit an amount higher than $5,000 gamble should be aware of that risk and try to make their transactions below that amount.

It is a lesson for everyone to learn about KYC when it is requested that is why we need to make enquiry about a casino procedure for KYC and if we are not satisfied on it we can walk away and check the next door. It is not just about the amount to be withdrawn but to be sure we get the KYC verified before committing to stake. If for example KYC was already verified then when there is no release of fund, that becomes a pure red light for possible scam.
2612  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I think topics/discussion on gambling addictions is too much on: July 03, 2023, 06:15:47 PM
You fear addiction talk is deterring rookies, affecting casino earnings? Your focus is amusing. User wellness should be our main concern. If risk discussions dissuade someone, isn't it beneficial? It's preferable they back off than blindly risk a trap. As for casino profits, they can attract freshers. We should advocate responsible gambling over just the entertainment. Because, losing your savings and life's balance isn't enjoyable!
That is why we shouldn't fear talking about addiction risks, especially towards newbies. They really have to be concerned regards addiction, while learning how gambling works, what they can expect from it and how to play in a healthy responsible way before depositing considerable sums of money on platforms to bet. Gambling can be destructive if not practiced responsively and if we avoid talking about it, we are actually creating more issues, since newbies will engage themselves with this activity without knowing the basics, consequently putting themselves in a big financial crisis later.

The lessons to learn from this kind of topic are inexhaustible. From trying to move away from the act of playing uncontrollably to the financial burden and obviously, those who are married have alot to learn from it because addiction in gambling usually set couples apart if the wife is not in support of it. People are sharing enormous experience of their experience on it and effort made on the good sides or and the bad side.
2613  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Teaching as before makes no sense on: July 03, 2023, 05:12:10 PM

People in school need to at an early age be introduced to machine learning and AI tech from the least sophisticated machines and AI knowledge and as they develop more and progress in school, more complex machine learning and AI tech will be taught.

This is more of my earlier response. In the past it was a pride that a little boy or girl in a family has started going out in the morning to school but because of some failure in education system of some countries, that zeal for learning is falling. Most homes don't have that push to go to school because they expect employment to be the end result unfortunately that is not happening as Al techniques are taking over the job space. The class of parents that are committed to still see their children to school are those who are educated themselves because they know education is an asset. The government has to fund education more and restrategize on the curriculum where it will capture sound teaching techniques and practicals because practical is fast disappearing.
2614  Economy / Gambling / Re: Is Stake.com allowed to lock account with $6,000 untill I lose it all? on: July 03, 2023, 04:50:59 PM
When we are staking with centralised exchange we have to know that KYC is important when they require it and even along the way the casino might still introduce it even if abinitio it was not required and this happens because it is centralized and we can do little or nothing about it. In this case when you were having this back and forth with stake, you continued trying your luck to win more but you admitted that you couldn't win because of your own fault. Now regarding to your ticket history, you said this issue was along time ago. So do you know if it was stated in their ToS that history might be deleted after a certain time? Or that it was deleted because you have stayed away longer. But it is given that KYC when requested should be fulfilled before further activities on the casino or exchange because you won't be allowed to withdraw your funds.
2615  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does lottery rewards expire? on: July 03, 2023, 03:24:22 PM

I feel that with some casino's, if the prize money is unclaimed, they may need to retrieve it so that it can be rewarded to another person who is available to claim it. After a period of time and your reward money is unclaimed, many things can be assumed to have happened to you.

How can that be possible that a casino will retrieve a lottery reward from an unclaimed participant due to one reason or the other and give it to another account or person who did not participate. You have to participate in the lottery or have an account registered for that to be entitled to a reward and you won't have to benefit from another person's win. If the participant is unable to claim it I think it returns to the casino but not to someone who didn't apply for it or qualified for it.
2616  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: July 03, 2023, 02:31:41 PM

I am not God. Just trying to show how to control my gambling addiction. No matter success or fail at the end, at least I am trying and do my best. If there is a good result, it may supply some references for the people who are suffering. Anything can have a huge influence on anyone even a smile from stranger. You may take it as a joke because you already have plenty in your life. For some guys, that smile may change their lives. Most of my words are useless, but I still hope few of them can be good for someone. That's all I want.

I understand that even smile can be a therapy to heal someone but that is not just smile that will do the remedy or magic but it involves other support given to the person. My point is support to a gambling addict involves physical help like as I have mentioned earlier which will make the addict refrain from the act, like if you restrict his movements, seize his phone which is easily done through the wife, family relatives or friends. Even a mad man can be resuscitated if you limit him by moving out like quarantining him and make sure he heeds to the medication routine. But only sending instructions through YouTube streaming on how to stop addiction do not produce the physical help needed if there is nobody to support.
2617  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: July 03, 2023, 01:14:21 PM
I think the real discussion is not to allow gambling addiction control you because you need limit to everything and not to abuse whatever you do. If someone is gambling excessively, he is likely to be looking for income through it and no longer fun which is suppose to be the primary aim.

If you cannot quit by yourself, there are so many channels to help you. Even you can talk to me. I will do my best to help you.

What are you really going to do when you are miles away on the internet. I understand addicts need physical presence and help, like they could be restricted from their phones, places to visit or taken to rehap and all that requires physical presence. It is not enough to direct an addict on websites to visit to gain knowledge on how to stop gambling or streaming it on YouTube but it requires other physical actions on the addict.
2618  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Should the government be allowed to keep secrets from their people? on: July 03, 2023, 09:06:15 AM

There's nothing wrong with the government keeping things about safety and privacy private if they're not misusing it.

The government will not misuse secret if they are secret. They are used for public good and benefit. If government has a secret about a few people who are eating the economy dry then takes a decision against those few for them to be punished against what they have been doing, that should not be seen as misuse but as the right thing to do for the economy to benefit the majority. If few people are benefiting from the government and the majority are not, the government is suppose to take adequate measures to break such clique so that all will enjoy governance.
2619  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does lottery rewards expire? on: July 03, 2023, 07:37:29 AM
I know about the national lotteries if that is what you want to know. Usually it has a claim date or duration for you to come up with your winning ticket to claim it and if that duration is exhausted, you will hardly get that winning reward back. It is about 180 days that it is placed for claiming. So to that effect, before you play it you are told some of the conditions to claim it including tax on it just like claiming the huge winning from offline gambling sites .

Natural intelligence is being replaced by Al. This is the situation of things with the way all is going. The pursuit for the creation of wealth has led to growth in technology and job loss. When you build hotel in space, how many humans do you expect to work there as hotel attendance? Of course you need bots to do most of the jobs  Grin There is positive in negative, advantage and disadvantage, they all make the world a better place.
