2621  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many friends did you recommend bitcoin to? Did they accept it? on: June 28, 2015, 04:38:08 AM

Actually something like that was my tactic to get a few friends to start checking out bitcoin, going to a restaurant and me coming out and saying oh damn i left my wallet at home but of course knowing the restaurant does take bitcoin so i pull out my phone and paid with my bitcoin wallet, it pretty much blows their minds.

lol I would love to try that on my more skeptical friends. too bad there's currently zero restaurant (or anything) that accepts bitcoin as a payment in my town.
2622  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to get free bitcoin? on: June 28, 2015, 04:31:06 AM
if by 'free' you mean 'little effort', try giveaways.

most other methods requires you to spend your time and effort, so they ain't exactly 'free'.
2623  Economy / Auctions / Re: Sr Member on: June 27, 2015, 09:27:54 PM
What do you mean with short amount of time?
Account was created early 2014

"+300 activity  +900 posts"
What else would I be talking about?
Don't answer that because I just lost interest. Thanks anyway!

what's wrong with having a high post count? most users have at least double post count compared to their activity. I mean check hilariousandco's stats. you'd think he never sleep

2626  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Lucky donation to anyone on: June 27, 2015, 08:57:31 PM
I don't really need a faucet BTC, so I'll just pick a random address here. call it a "donation"  Tongue

we already have User/TopicStarter/Thread of lifetime page. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=stats
making it to show daily stats should be very simple, but if you want a list you'll have to do it manually
not that I think we need it
2628  Other / Off-topic / Re: What Song are you Listening To? on: June 27, 2015, 05:29:28 PM
I'm listening to a whole playlist of Lindsey Stirling right now. now playing Anti-Gravity

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqVWzjC0YJA

wait. is this a "song"?
2629  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Cost of Bitcointalk Accounts. on: June 27, 2015, 05:07:15 PM
Great job, however there're still some bug on it, like if a Jr. have 56 activity, no pos/neg trust and with normal post quality then it will worth just 0.0028 BTC, which it's market price is at around 0.005-0.01 BTC. So maybe changing the modifier of Jr. to 0.25 is better?
And a 10x modifier for Legendary is too high, as this means an average Legendary with no trust and normal post quality and the minimum required activity (775) will worth 3.825 BTC at your current modifier. They worth 1-2 BTC at the moment, so a modifier at 3.5-5 will be more good for this.

oops, sorry lol. I made a typo there, it was meant to be 0.2 for Jrm. 0.1 was meant for newbies but I decided to exclude them.

I don't know about legendaries tho, they're very precious and hard to come by. also Tomatocage said that he got a 100BTC offer for his account  Tongue not sure if it's true.
2630  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Cost of Bitcointalk Accounts. on: June 27, 2015, 02:44:25 PM
Man, you're awesome.

I don't agree with your prices though. Good quality Full Member value at least 0.135BTC (0.9 mbtc x activity)
300 activity Senior Member should worth 0.33BTC (1.1 mbtc x activity)

thanks  Grin

yeah my prices might seem a bit low but those are what the buyer wants (mostly), been lurking on auction board for a while now and Sr Member with more than 0.3BTC price tend to have a hard time getting any bidder.

and changing the base price per activity is pretty tedious IMO. just change the rank modifier  Tongue
2631  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Cost of Bitcointalk Accounts. on: June 27, 2015, 01:38:28 PM
I have this jr.member account with me (extra one)ehich I am thinking of selling .
I need 0.01 btc
do you think I can sell it for this amount?

member usually are sold for 0.05, so junior should be woth 0.01 at least while newbie is around 0.005 or less

you can try, but it also depend on the quality of your post
Newbies don't worth 0.005 and members don't worth 0.05 either. Newbies of 14 activity worth nothing, while those of 28 activity may worth 2-3mBTC. Members could worth 0.02-0.04 BTC, depending on their rank. Also Jr. Members could go for as cheap as 0.0044 (ref: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=992029.0), and is even cheaper than that of the price of newbies that you stated.

well i said it depend on the quality and the activity does matter but it isn't everything, i see newbies with +10 in trust, i'm sure that an account like that is worth more then 0.005

there is a guide to follow, but i like to give around 100k satoshi per activity, as a base price

The base price of 100k satoshis per activity point is only valid for Senior or above, or a newly created 14 activity newbie would worth 0.014 BTC (or $3) by this rule. However an account having low quality posts won't worth that price. And accounts having green trust and high quality posts will worth more than that (for Sr. or above).

yup, pricing accounts by activity alone just won't cut it. so I made some rough calculation based on the prices I see in the market (I was very bored Tongue)

this is the formula: {a} x 0.0005 x {r} x {p} + {t} =

Code:
{r}ank modifier:
Jr. Member: 0.2
Member: 0.5
Full Member: 1.0
Sr. Member: 1.4
Hero Member: 2.0
Legendary: 10.0

Code:
{p}ost quality modifier:
bad: 0.8
normal: 1.0
good: 1.1

add 0.01BTC for every {t}: -x / +x points. (still needs some work on this one).

so this will make a good quality poster full member account with 150 activity and neutral trust worth 0.0825BTC.

or make a bad quality poster Sr. Member account with 300 activity and 5: -x / +x trust worth {300 x 0.0005 x 1.4 x 0.8 + 0.05 = 0.21800BTC}

man, I'm awesome
2632  Other / Meta / Re: Account Got Hacked on: June 27, 2015, 12:12:22 PM
you can only prove that an account hasn't been hacked, not the other way around. theymos might 'recover' your account, but those feedback will most likely stay there

Are those PS1 games you played eboots? I didnt know that you could save the game (save data).

yup, they're all on eboots.pbp, tho I'm sure they have to be converted to PBP if you want to play them on psp
2635  Other / Meta / Re: Negative rating from a banned user on: June 26, 2015, 05:55:08 PM
Things like this show just how much moderating trust is needed. I don't where's the problem in giving one or two staff members the job of trust moderation,
or hire a new one that would do that. It's not like they are swamped with moderation today when so many users help in preventing spam and scams.
For leading forum representing a revolutionary way of payment, this is a shame imo.

cheers

I don't think trust spam is a good enough reason to make moderation a necessity. those spams are worthless, they don't damage the trust system as much as some people from the default trust do.

IMO we only need some set of official rules and a sub board to make a topic in when someone breaks them. not moderation
2636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Password cracking? on: June 26, 2015, 05:37:55 PM
for general pw cracking hashcat is pretty good http://hashcat.net/oclhashcat/

It will not help you crack a bitcoin wallet or priv keys though.
I dont want to hack anything, i am just curious how people did it on this forum.

phishing sites, keyloggers, hacker attacks, brute force (not sure about this one), and evil friends.. did I miss something?
Xss, cross site scripting?

I think XSS pretty much falls into the hacker attacks category. tho I'm sure we're save from XSS.

I decided to do some fun charity
1 write  your bitcoin address on ccminer.cf
2 I will choose any
3 I go to any new faucet that I want to try
4 I use your bitcoin address to login
5 you will get satoshi for free
6 you must give me feedback and prove of receiving satoshi
7 good luck

feedback, as in trust feedback? if so then this is an attempt of buying trust. and it's a big no-no as far as I know

hello encrypted my english not good can you translate my post
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=962343.msg11719609#msg11719609

we not spaming in local board, we have great moderator he working hard to keep track of spamer

the last part, right? sure. my translation is bit rusty tho, so bear with me.

-----------------
we're discussing just like normal here and we have 2 moderators that will take action whenever someone posted something off-topic, and they are active in doing their job. we're not as much of a spam board as some other local board where the moderators rarely take actions.
