My people make una see wetin dey happen for Lagos. Our government has sold us out without taking into account the concern of the people. Their slogan is "Vaccine is the answer!". Pharmaceutical companies and international interest have persuaded them with big loads of cash and as usual their brains are turned off.  How many cases has there been in Nigeria? Last year malaria patients were misdiagnosed as covid patients thereby increasing the cases in the country. At a point, states were competing for highest number of covid cases so more money can be allocated to them. Covid in Nigeria is a hoax and a poor one at that.

Op I read your thread in Reputation https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5356244.msg57771633#msg57771633  You were not able to present evidence to defend yourself same as here....creating threads on different boards doesn't prove yourself innocence. I suggest you come clean. Reading the first thread on Reputation I saw a guilty man trying to hide behind the "internet" you didn't think you would get caught, did you?
2624  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk is more than a forum on: August 23, 2021, 08:43:42 PM
Op you sound excited I'm glad you're having a swell time here. The forum is really about bitcoin discussion and cryptocurrency at large. Every other thing here is secondary!
Yes you're right, there is so much free knowledge on the forum...a cryptopedia if there is such a word but make sure not to misuse this golden opportunity. I made a thread once about the opportunities available in the crypto space. It's a good read
2625  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Accepting bitcoin as payment for my business on: August 23, 2021, 06:53:16 PM
good luck with your business.... btw, i strongly recommend that you accept payments by "lightning network" (for payments via BTC).  Bitcoin fees are also very volatile (sometimes very high but can be low) but the low fee of the "lightning network" is very stable.  You have to think about accept payment with ethereum because the fee is quite high and there will definitely be only a little few buyers who use it (and maybe yourself will have difficulty with the high fee of eth)
Thank you very much. Many on the thread have suggested using Lightning network. I have to read more about it though, I know there are threads that explains the LN on the forum. I just have to search for them.
About the high transfer fee of Ethereum, I know tron and Nano have less fees but they are not very popular here, that's why I chose only Bitcoin, Eth, and Usdt. With time I will be able to expand to other coins
2626  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you be able to take an additional work if required? on: August 23, 2021, 02:52:58 PM
My business suffered last year because of covid and the lockdown in my country. Businesses were put on halt only business that thrived was those in food business, groceries e.t.c..People were more concerned about food to eat than buying clothes.
It was around last year December I became active on bitcointalk and I can tell you, my life has changed since then. I discovered I can make money utilising the growing crypto industry. I started OTC trading, buying and selling bitcoins and I can say I'm doing well.
2627  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Accepting bitcoin as payment for my business on: August 23, 2021, 01:48:22 PM
Did you say you accept 3 coins? I'm curious what the third is (since you mentioned bitcoin and ethereum only).
The third is usdt because it is a stable coin and serve as a backing.
My plan is to hodl bitcoins as much as I can. Before now I usually keep 40% of my monthly earnings in bitcoin. I'm not worried about the volatility of bitcoin. I'm a strong believer in bitcoin and I'm in for the long term.
This is quite good for the adoption of cryptocurrency and seems like it'd be about as easy as contactless - just scanning a qr code, putting in the amount and going from there.

If you grow further, you can issue payment requests to customers either via a tablet or a screen on your PoS if they ever send the wrong amount as then you'll be able to set how much you request (with the qr code request mechanism, you can give them each an individual address to pay then too if you wanted to anonymise yourself).
Thanks for your insight. I think that's a good idea

Nice to meet a colleague here. My country men are fashionable and like to express their culture in their clothings. Thanks I will be creating an ANN thread soon. Hopefully I would get good response from the community.
2628  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Accepting bitcoin as payment for my business on: August 23, 2021, 11:23:09 AM
I have been in the forum for some time learning different aspects of bitcoin, now I want to be more practical about bitcoin as a currency. I introduced crypto payments for my business and have been making sales lately. I'm in the clothing industry and I believe in crypto. I have my wallet addresses and barcode printed at the door and pos! For now, I accept Bitcoin, usdt and Etheruem. These are 3 popular coins in my community.
So far customer feedback has been good. Some people are glad to be able to use bitcoin to actually pay for a service, Nigeria is a growing market you see. In addition it has also got my business attraction from customers who are in the crypto space. The challenge though is the issue of transaction fees, 8 out of 10 customers aren't exposed and only use the blockchain wallet. I try to educate them on other wallets with low transaction fees like electrum.
I feel good about this new development. I get to interact with customers about Bitcoin and share ideas

2630  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: August 23, 2021, 08:36:47 AM
I could not agree more, Arsenal seems to be in their worst situation this season. They do not want to spend more money to build a good competitive squad. Basically its been so long time they do like this, relying on young potential players but they lack of experiences. I feel that Arsenal's main management is focusing to make money only. Spend less money to get build the squad, get more money from sponsors, tickets & merchandise sales, without any intentions to be the champion of Premier League.
To be fair the team was already in a mess when Mikel Arteta came in. The team is unstable, Arsenal at this point is in a period of transition, things are going to be more difficult henceforth because losing two matches consecutively at the beginning of the season will weaken their spirit. Arteta will have to give the team a pep talk to boost their morale. A win was what they needed to bounce back to life, everyone underestimated Brentford since they came out of regulation...supposed to be a easy win for Arsenal but they  lost.

2632  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: August 23, 2021, 06:53:42 AM
Arsenal now are not competitive even for position in Europa League. They are in downside after the transition from Arsene Wenger. Fans hoped that new coaches will change the situation but from Unai Emery to Mikel Arteta, Arsenal are still weak and very unstable.
The problem with arsenal is not from Mikel Arteta, it goes way up to the owners of the club. Those guys decide who to spend money on. Arsene Wenger did well to manage the club without signing expensive players. Truth be told it doesn't matter who the manager is, Arsenal are going to do poorly because they don't have a team that's feeling competitive for the season.
2633  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 23, 2021, 06:12:48 AM
I'm hodling Bitcoin. We are going to hit 53k, maybe 60k soon. Fomo will cause many to long bitcoin, others might sell because of fear of a dip. But I see a bullish trend here. What do you see?

2634  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria Local Board, All board discussion welcomed. {No Official Language} on: August 21, 2021, 08:37:22 PM
Guys these days scammers are pushing stolen funds to exchanges and once you pay, exchanges freeze your accounts. Be mindful who you are buying bulk coins from. Overly cheap coins and bulk coins with no sources too sometimes has egbese. I can’t start dropping screenshots or proofs of that. Try to use decentralized exchanges if you receive coins on exchanges. In the quest to make  10k profit, I pray we don’t pay 5m debt
Now, my question is, why would this exchange(s) accept the stolen funds in the first place? Why did they even allow the scammer to place a sell other? Why didn't they froze the scammers account immediately they deposited the stolen funds? Why did they allow innocent buyers to buy the stolen funds from the scammer only for them to turn and block the innocent buyer's account,? How is/was the buyer supposed to know that the funds which he or she bought or want to buy is a stolen fund?
Lots of questions and questions with little answer I guess, if what you said is true, then, this is highly unfair on the buyers, except the buyers know the funds are stolen and still went ahead to buy cus its cheap, then that's a different story but then, the question, why the exchange allow the scammers to place the sell order still lingers.
It's easier said than done. You would think the exchange would take responsibility.  I have occasionally encountered scammers in p2p exchanges they are very cunning
2635  Other / Meta / Re: Is Bitcointalk.org losing user base? on: August 21, 2021, 04:13:40 PM

sure, my friend is a little utilitarian, vain and ambitious. She loves Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency field. sometimes she deems her posts profound and helpful but gets no merit, I know she had thought about the topic seriously...maybe that upset her. She said she felt ignored and her voice wasn't heard. personally, her work really preoccupied her and stripped her of the time spent in here. As far as I know, she's still skimming this forum nearly every week, the best place to get a glimpse of what is happening in crypto world!
Merits is not the cornerstone of the forum. The merit system was introduced to reduce spamming, the only place where rank is really visible is the service board where one can apply to work for sig campaigns. I'm happy to hear your friend still visits the forum frequently that shows her intentions are true. I understand some of us are ambitious and always want to win, the urge to be at the top drives the need for merits. If you feel your posts are good enough to have merits you can report it. There is a thread for that. When she sees how far you've gone she will be encouraged to continue contributing her quota to the forum.

I sold too early! I sold 0.1 btc @ $1000 in January 2020 to start up a  business. Few months later covid hit, we were forced to close down all businesses effective from the lockdown policy. My business suffered during this period and when businesses were allowed to reopen I had  lost half of my goods. Whats worse I had to watch bitcoin pump to $60k ...0.1btc is now worth $4700.
2637  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Send bitcoin Coinbase on: August 21, 2021, 12:40:36 PM

You should put the exact amount of the goods you're paying for mind you coinbase charge a transaction fee so be sure you put this into consideration. If the item you are purchasing is 30 euros and you send 30euros worth of bitcoin. The transaction is stamped on the blockchain.
Here's the thing, the value of the Bitcoin when received could be a problem I think that's where Op is worried

2639  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if the Legend kicks the bucket? on: August 21, 2021, 11:29:38 AM
The legend Satoshi Nakamoto is greater than just a man. The legend transcends death and time as bitcoin paved the way to a new world. Satoshi can never die, the legend is carved in the existence of bitcoin and blockchain technology.  Satoshi will die, but his legacy and his contributions to the crypto industry will live on forever through them
2640  Other / Meta / Re: [TOP-200] The most generous users giving merits on: August 21, 2021, 11:08:38 AM
Finally, I believe merit sources do not give higher merits to lower ranking members because they believe they may abuse the smerits they will have as a result of the given merits. It's somewhat showing that the merit system works in conjunction with the trust system. If you are trusted, you are trusted with merits too. Knowing too well you may not play the hide and seek game with your alt on merit issuance.

I am of the opinion that lower ranking member(s) who is able to produce a few quality posts, can be trusted and has a decent history of smerit allocation should benefit evenly because they are the future of bitcointalk.
Thank you!
There are merit threads by merit sources all over Beginner and Help board to help newbies rank up. Getting 10 merits to rank up to member is not difficult. The merit system isn't designed to oppress newbies
