2621  Economy / Economics / Re: Does Bitcoin Help The Poor on: January 22, 2021, 10:58:12 PM
I think Bitcoin really helps the poor, I say that because there are so many articles that tell the story of a person who was in financial difficulty
suddenly becoming rich, after investing in Bitcoin. Therefore, there is a lot of news that says that Bitcoin can provide instant profit, and this is
quite misleading in my opinion. Because people who make it rich from Bitcoin are not obtained instantly, but usually requires a long process.
Then another reason that Bitcoin really helps the poor is Bitcoin can be used as a source of income, and it happened to me. I managed to improve
my economy for 5 years of trading on Bitcoin.
If a poor person can afford to allocate some of the funds to buy bitcoin and continue to keep the funds in bitcoin, then this is not exactly a poor person Wink However, history knows many cases when really poor people denied themselves everything and still made savings in fiat money, so you can just as well talk about fiat money helping poor people. You can also talk about lottery tickets that help poor people, another question is that the number of people who these lottery tickets helped is calculated in units.
2622  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: January 21, 2021, 11:59:24 PM
it looks like the results will end in a draw
Unfortunately, your prediction is wrong. Atletico Madrid won the match, 1 penalty made them to secure 3 points today. I think Eibar has played quite well but they are not lucky, so they didn't get a single point in this match. We cannot deny the fact that Atletico Madrid is leading with bigger gaps from Real Madrid now. Also, they still have 1 unplayed match.
With Real Madrid, strange things have been happening lately, starting with a loss in the semifinals of the Spanish Super Cup and ending with a defeat by a team from the third division of the league. Zidane is said to be losing personal contact with the players, not speaking to some of them for weeks or even months. The management is not rushing to conclusions yet, but if this series continues, I'm afraid they will have to part with each other before the end of the season.
2623  Economy / Economics / Re: Warren Buffett & "Rat Poison" on: January 21, 2021, 11:50:27 PM
Honestly at 90 years old, what do you expect from him? Dude was born in 1930, by comparison the world war 2 happened when he was a teenager, at 15 years old, nearly old enough to join it himself as well. Dude grew up in one of the worse periods of humanity, his father was a very rich man with a lot of money to spare, he started his career with 100k from his family to start investing and never had a troubled life ever, dude even drinks coca cola everyday and eats candy and french fries and still managed to live until 90, so we can safely assume he is one of the luckiest people in the world ever in history.
This doesn't discredit the fact that he is probably the greatest investor ever, rarely ever lost money and always had a sustained profit for decades, but when you are that good and everything goes great, why even try to learn about new things like bitcoin when you are 90?
Without a doubt his experiences have shaped who he is and especially his philosophy when it comes to trading and investing and when you take into account the world in which he was born then it is very understandable why he doesn't get the concept of bitcoin, but that is not the problem that we have with him, the problem is that he openly claims that he doesn't understand bitcoin and yet he is bold enough to call it rat poison and the question is how he can say that when he claims he does not understand bitcoin?
You can still try to interpret his words as like " if this is beyond my understanding, then I strongly do not recommend contacting it" Wink And his "I don't understand" is akin in meaning to the words "I don't want to understand". Indeed, what can we say about a 90-year-old person, when people much younger than him in age express such thoughts. Here it is already worth talking about the rejection of bitcoin itself as a concept by such people.
2624  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Paquiao VS Connor McGreggor? on: January 21, 2021, 11:38:34 PM
Fighting the greatest boxer is one of the best achievement what a boxer can possibly got but I believe that's not what Mcgregor aim since for sure as the  other user quoted in this message said he truly aims to get a millions of dollars after  this fight, For sure he knows that he can't defeat Pacquaio on this match but still its a win-win situation for him since he will still go home happy  with his millions  plus he will be listed on history that he fight the greatest boxer on this  era.
Sports are now getting more into the business way of things. I know that they have their ways of practicing and dedicating their lives, persevering every pain and wound in their bodies every game but is it worth it that they are now aiming for the money and not for the pride and the honor they are getting after winning every matches?
That's the reality of sports now. We all know that these are all business, but what happened in this era of sports, business is becoming more obvious than being a sport that would entertain the spectators and fans.
I bumped to an article once that says Pacquiao told McGregor to focus on his MMA match first before deciding to fight him in a boxing match. I'm not sure but this match between them is getting closer to become a deal.
Professional boxing itself is in most cases more of a show for making money than a regular sport, and in this particular case, this statement can be multiplied several times. On the other hand, this fight can attract more attention than other serious fights of normal quality boxers and nothing can be done about it, such are the modern realities of professional sports. When the more unusual the match, the more attention you can attract and the more money you can earn.
2625  Economy / Economics / Re: Are Cryptocurrencies Really Money? on: January 21, 2021, 11:26:25 PM
2.   Are crypto currencies really money? The poll result was; Yes (79.9%) and no (20.1%)
[/b]What is your opinion about these polls?
Of course it's a big YES! Bitcoin, ethereum and any cryptocurrency is a real money and what we are called them is digital currency. Meaning these digital currencies are real money that is converted into a digital form like coins, tokens and etc. in order for you to make them into a fiat money you need first to convert it into your local fiat money so that you may used it from your day to day basis.
I do not agree, what can be exchanged for real money is not necessarily money. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in their current state are digital assets, tokens that do not have official circulation in the absolute majority of states and that for real use in any case need to be changed to real fiat money, even in paper, even in electronic form, even on the seller's side, even on the buyer's side. And there are no prerequisites for changing the situation yet, despite all sorts of polls there.
2626  Economy / Economics / Re: Second lockdown due to covid19 is painful on: January 21, 2021, 11:14:08 PM
If everyone sincerely follows the quarantine rules , wear a damn mask , stay at home and isolate themselves if they don’t feel good instead of going on stupid rallies and ignoring the pandemic then I think we can do it in a year.
There are many people who dont cooperate thats why the virus cant be controlled from spreading. If only people unite to stay at home if there's nothing important to do outside then somehow the number of cases were going to reduced. Im afraid we're going to have another lockdown because of the sars-cov from uk (another variant of covid), they say this is much worse than covid-19. Oh well I think we cant return to what we used to to atleast for the coming days and months.
Of course, it is naive to expect an end to the pandemic in the coming days. But as for the rallies, I would like to say that so far this is not such a mass phenomenon that we can talk about contributing to the unwinding of the flywheel of the epidemic. The quarantine rules and other rules are reasonable, but not all governments have the determination to act as harshly as the chinese authorities do, so it is better not to rely so much on the consciousness of citizens, but to pin all hopes on the successful vaccination of as large a percentage of the population as possible.
2627  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: January 20, 2021, 11:59:05 PM
No rumor about juan mata till today, maybe he will leave the club in summer. we know he is good players, if Olle prefer to choose younger players, i think there is several reason, just remember about Ozil in arsenal, why Ozil never choosen by arteta?
Arteta does not let Ozil on the field due to problems with the contract, which in case of his performances this season should have been paid an additional bonus for loyalty, which, given the current level of play of the player and his age, as well as the reduction in income due to COVID 19, did not suit the owners of Arsenal. It seems that Ozil's next destination is Fenerbahce and after passing through the quarantine under the security protocol, the transition will finally take place.
2628  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 20, 2021, 11:52:10 PM
Juventus just won the Italian supercup versus Napoli for 2-0, Ronaldo Morata scored.
Cuadrado back from Covid and Mckennie fixed and we got a good Juventus back in the field.
If we look at the match Juventus vs Napoli, the two teams have almost the same chance, but lucky Juventus have Ronaldo who has the sharpness
in scoring goals. So Juventus can score goals first, unfortunately Napoli wasted chances with Insigne failing to score a penalty. If Insigne scores a goal,
the match will definitely be more exciting, but in the end Juventus managed to kill the game. With Morata managed to score a goal in injury time
and ensure Juventus won the Italian Super Cup.
Pirlo's first title as head coach of Juventus and, I hope, not the last, because after not quite successful games and not quite the usual first place in the championship standings, rumors began to appear about his future retirement. Ronaldo continues to prove his great status and set a new official world record for the number of goals for clubs and the national team in the amount of 760 goals, surpassing the Czech player 30-50 years of the last century.
2629  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Paquiao VS Connor McGreggor? on: January 20, 2021, 11:40:42 PM
I'll be glad if Pacquiao wins. He will probably win the fight. It will be very easy for him and the fight will not be interesting. The result of the fight is known before it starts, and the fight is only for the money. I don't like McGregor, he's just showing off
I have absolutely no idea what should happen for Pacquiao, with all his skills and talents, to lose this fight. If the preparation is made in a normal time at the required level and Pacquiao takes this fight very seriously, then there should be no problems. In the world of sports, many unexpected things happen and it is precisely because of its unpredictability that sports are beautiful, but I do not think that this is exactly the case. It would be much more interesting to find out in what proportions the income from the battle will be divided.
2630  Economy / Economics / Re: Second lockdown due to covid19 is painful on: January 20, 2021, 11:30:37 PM
When will we really end this, I don't know if you guys will be under the influence. I really need vaccines to get rid of this epidemic, in the country I live in, people are getting settled down and the government is also starting to experiment with vaccines, which really curse viruses.
What is actually surprising is that when a vaccine was discovered, there are currently many mutations of the virus. just like you in my own area there are restrictions for someone to move. For those who work it is advisable to work from home, but many workers who have to work outside are currently leaving their jobs. this is indeed a dilemma for the government.
This is not surprising, because for viruses of this type, permanent mutations are the basis for preservation and spread in the human population, and yet it seems that the level of mutations is not comparable to the number of mutations in ordinary influenza. The most important thing is that the number of these mutations does not exceed a certain limit that can interfere with the protective functions of vaccines, and as for this, it seems that the situation is still under control.
2631  Economy / Economics / Re: what will happens if everyone has own currency, doesn't a bad for Economics ? on: January 20, 2021, 11:21:49 PM
It is impossible for everyone to have their own currency because in fact, the existing currency is not based on an individual but a group or anything that regulates it which means it does not belong to one person. Besides, with so many different skills it is highly unlikely that this will happen and also, we only need to support what we believe is the best and not necessarily to generate our own currency.
This is not only poorly implemented purely technically, but also not rational and not effective, because the costs of mutual settlements between different people will be huge and still in the end there will be a process of crystallization and only the most necessary and resilient will remain. Decentralization is a great thing and one of the most popular modern trends, but like all phenomena, the process of decentralization has its limits.
2632  Economy / Economics / Re: Economy restart big Boom and prosperity Coming on: January 20, 2021, 11:11:34 PM
The global economy continues to deteriorate due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and unprecedented measures to combat it. Therefore, most likely, we can first survive the global economic crisis or simply a significant drop in economic growth in all states, and only after that prosperity is possible. Everything moves cyclically and in a spiral. The world economy also.
I wouldn't see it quite so negatively. Overall, the global pandemic cost significantly less economic output in 2020 than originally assumed and there are many signs - especially from China - that the recovery is coming faster than expected. Of course, the crisis may worsen further, but I think we passed the peak with the successful development of vaccine.
China's economic recovery is certainly a wonderful thing and a great sign, but let's not forget that the Chinese economy and national economies are different things, although they are interconnected due to the processes of globalization. China was much less affected by the pandemic, and in many countries, the service sector was severely affected due to knockdowns, which does not directly correlate with the success of the Chinese economy.
2633  Economy / Economics / Re: Are Cryptocurrencies Really Money? on: January 20, 2021, 11:03:26 PM
Now peoples in this crypto world are using these as real money because many are able to spend them for their daily uses and we have too many other wasy as well even its just happening in very few countries due to policies and many other factors but good thing adoption is going on with very good rate which mean in near future we will able to handle more communities and things for our use and this crypto could be in better shape for more use in near future.
Here a lot depends on what is considered an implementation and what is considered a good speed. Because in the vast majority of cases, we are only talking about recognizing bitcoin as an asset for speculation and investment and embedding cryptocurrency operations in traditional markets, and government agencies are graciously beginning to allow taxes to be paid on these operations and storage, so that the rich in this area slowly begin to come out of the shadows Wink
2634  Economy / Economics / Re: Miami mayor considers investing in bitcoin with public funds on: January 20, 2021, 10:43:40 PM
OMG:
Quote
“If I would have done it last year, I would have made 200 plus percent,” Mayor Francis Suarez said on FOX Business' “Varney and Co.” “So I would have looked like a genius.”
And if he invests in bitcoin now--right when it's very near its all-time high, he might look like a complete friggin' taxpayer money-wasting idiot in a year's time.
Hell, I applaud his sentiment and I'm a fervent bitcoin supporter myself, but if you're looking to use bitcoin as an investment, you have to get in at the right price.  That's true of any investment, and I'm not sure Mr. Suarez is being wise by making this statement or if he's seriously thinking about buying bitcoin with taxpayers' money right now.  Imagine what the outcry would be like if bitcoin dropped by 50% in the next year.  The dude would probably be impeached and no doubt wouldn't stand a chance come re-election time.
I also believe that although the mayor is a progressive and technologically advanced person, he is a little rushing things and I am not at all sure that the city's funds should serve as an object of even successful, but still speculation. Any speculation implies risk, especially in such a dangerous area as the bitcoin market, where the risk can be multiplied several times. It is one thing to accept taxes and payments in bitcoin, and it is quite another to place city funds in cryptocurrency.
2635  Economy / Economics / Re: Different online business we can involve in on: January 18, 2021, 11:59:27 PM
In addition to that, we were able to discover skills that we didn't know we are capable of, one of which is our capability to run a business. Or to write a blog that is included in OP. Investing in ourselves and making ourselves our own boss would give us a lot more worth and satisfaction.
The Pandemic opens a possibility for many to be a business minded and not rely only on their jobs. There are plenty of my colleagues who already stop working and focus on their business created during Pandemic. Online Selling is really popular now as well trading in crypto than in stocks. Discovering that we are able to sell and trade can bring us deeper in something that we are really interested to do.
It is clear that in exceptional cases, a person can open a second wind and he is capable of such things that he was capable of in a normal situation, just as we can say about the current economic situation. The pandemic has caused huge damage to some sectors of the economy, such as the service sector, but it has also opened a new window of opportunity for new players. And after the end of the pandemic, we will know what will take root and what will become irrelevant.
2636  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: January 18, 2021, 11:52:54 PM
~
Yep, those are the real examples of negative effects to rely on Messi only. A team should rely on 11 players since they play with 11 people. Not only Munchen and PSG but other teams who can handle Messi well, also have a big chance to win against Barcelona now. I don't know what Barcelona management or the coach wants to Messi, I know he isn't only a superstar there, he is an icon of Barcelona. But in the field, he cannot do everything alone, he cannot play in the top performance forever.
I agree that it is time for Barcelona to start working out the options for a team game without Messi, because already in some matches it is felt that Leo does not get the former pleasure from the game. Therefore, if Messi still wants to leave the team at the end of the season, then it is not necessary to prevent this, because his actions and victories have earned a respectful and fair attitude to his own person.
2637  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: January 18, 2021, 11:38:03 PM
I've heard something that Monaco, Azerbaijan and Canada GPs could be cancelled this season. And also it is said that Turkish GP could enter the calendar in the place of Monaco GP in May. I'm really excited about the possibility of Turkish GP could still be added. I hope it happens but I'd like to see Monaco GP too. There is no official statement about it so let's just wait for it.
Well, they are saying that Monaco GP will go as planned:
https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/154629/monaco-organisers-insist-f1-race-is-going-ahead
But yeah, these street circuits is in question, but at least they have alternative tracks like Istanbul, Mugello or Portimao, what doesn't looks like worse option.
We don't know what Covid situation will be in April in May, but they have to make decision early because it takes a lot of time to prepare street circuit.
This is good news, because Monaco is one of the iconic Formula 1 tracks and the championship would lose some of the charm from the cancellation of the races. As far as I understand, but the representative of Formula 1 now generally stated that the calendar has already been determined, there is no question of canceling city races and all planned city races will take place as planned.
2638  Economy / Economics / Re: Are people losing faith from centralized organizations? on: January 18, 2021, 11:31:47 PM
in general, people loose faith in centralized organizations not because of untrust but more because of outdated technologies and overregulations
Not really, the majority of people still depend on the government and the centralized system. As you can see, millions of people use social media, banks, etc in order to make life easier. Soon, they give up on control their life by themselves and give that system more and more power.
In modern conditions, it is impossible to do without a centralized system of power, and the entire centuries-old history of mankind only confirms this. The whole question is to what extent this centralization occurs, because in the last century people are trying to find the necessary balance between the interests of the state and the interests of citizens, as well as between the interests of companies and employees. And please do not deify the system of power and centralized organizations and make them an object of faith Wink
2639  Economy / Economics / Re: Second lockdown due to covid19 is painful on: January 18, 2021, 11:15:21 PM
I'm not against Lockdown, but I don't think some of the regulations implemented by the government are right on target. In making a regulation, of course the government takes serious considerations, including in overcoming economic disparities from every aspect, because as the OP said, not all people have the same economic capacity. Also, in the school system for children, I really don't like it, children have to go to school, albeit with fairly strict preventive measures for their safety
The most important goal of the government is to minimize contacts between large groups of the population, because according to the latest scientific studies, the main route of infection of covid 19 is contacts between sick and healthy people. But how exactly to limit these contacts there are no universal recipes, because the population density, the development of health infrastructure, the availability of free beds in different countries and regions is different.
2640  Economy / Economics / Re: Trump bans Alipay and seven other Chinese apps on: January 18, 2021, 11:00:05 PM
Already USA was making investigation on more number of Chinese application that is being used. Earlier itself with the banwog tiktok from India, USA announced its closure of more number of applications for security reason. Now this has been taking effect, as the ruling party is surrendering everything required for the governance.
In my opinion, the US should ban all Chinese companies that have anything to do with consumer money transfers and that have nothing to do with financing imports and exports. It cannot be that companies that are virtually under full control of the greatest dictatorship the world has ever seen (if you include the number of inhabitants) are allowed to compete in a free market (a free market that they do not allow in their own country).
Without going into the wilds of political propaganda, I would love to hear from you an example of at least one large country that has a truly open free market without protectionism in favor of its own companies, because it turns out an interesting situation. When China did not have the current economic power and ambitions, everyone quietly turned a blind eye to the system of power and human rights problems, but when they saw a growing competitor, then suddenly everyone's eyes were opened.
