2621  Economy / Economics / Re: Andreessen Horowitz plans $1 bln cryptocurrency VC fund on: May 05, 2021, 11:24:33 AM
More corporate spending means more centralization of cryptos. It is not really favorable for commoners like us in long term. Venture capital funds are seeing more profit from cryptospace and crypto related startups, so they are sniffing for opportunities.

It might sound good for now but in long term, cryptos will not benefit the common people like us if its control goes to the hand of money hungry corporates. There's no liquidity issue in the market, so we don't really need corporate funds here!
2622  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: UFC Takes the Fight to NFTs, Reportedly Plans Its Own Cryptoasset on: May 05, 2021, 10:25:52 AM
Lol! It's really feels sad to see the world moving towards a craze that yields nothing at the end of the day. Celebrities and big brands are just milking money out of the common people's pocket and some stupids are clapping to its success. Really saddened to see such useless things are getting popularity too.

A digital art means nothing in the real world. Protect and HODL your ETH, that may make you millionaire in some day, NFTs won't. The faster you will understand this reality, the better!
2623  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Yahoo Hates BTC: "Forget Bitcoin: Here are The Crypto Assets To Follow" on: May 05, 2021, 07:20:49 AM
Ugly move from Yahoo: "Bitcoin is to the crypto market what Netscape was to search engines in the early days of the Internet. There’s a need for a better solution, and the market is responding."

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/forget-bitcoin-crypto-assets-154341517.html

I think we're gonna see a huge BTC rise in the coming months, it's the calm before the storm. HODL!

As per the data released by Stat Counter, Yahoo's market share in internet search market is only 1.52%. So I doubt anyone will be interested in such news against bitcoin.

https://gs.statcounter.com/search-engine-market-share

But I don't really see this article as an attack against the crypto market. Because it is promoting altcoins through this article. So even if this article shows any impact on the crypto market (highly unlikely) it will probably be a net positive.

If Google had released this article, then it would have been grave concern. But who cares about Yahoo anyway!
2624  Economy / Economics / Re: Africa needs to fix continent, richest people are politicians on: May 04, 2021, 03:39:08 PM
Forget Dangote and the rest of the billionaires, the richest people in Africa are politicians. Africans need to reevaluate and rethink their system, so much power is given to the politicians and without any checks or balances. How can an ex-governor not be tried in court for his mischievous activities because there is a written document that said so who signed the documents is it the populace? They loot millions of dollars and stack them up for their families whereas the masses are suffering.
They even go as far as banning the trading of cryptocurrencies because they feel people might benefit from it. When the world is enjoying it. African needs to be taken to the hospital and given proper treatment because they are moving backward. More strength to their youth as many are still thriving in the harsh environment.

Majority of Africa and a part of Asia are still living under dictatorship. That seriously needs fixing. But the question is how? Armed coupes and civil war is not a solution rather such kind of rebellion usually leads to more suffering. The only long term solution is education. Please educate your child well so that he can first do well in life and encourage their upcoming generations to do so.

There's no easy or overnight solution to end dictatorship. It can only happen with knowledge and education. Otherwise, nothing will improve and billionaire politicians will keep on eating out the juice from economy.

Like any other "partly free" country, India is also moving into the same direction and the current government is trying their best to destroy the education system of the country. Because they understand freedom comes from knowledge. It's easy to enslave an uneducated person than an educated person.
2625  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will the Fiat slaves from Old school Investment companies get Bitcoin? on: May 04, 2021, 02:14:47 PM
The major bottleneck here is the government regulation. In majority of the countries, bitcoin has not yet received any formal approval from the regulatory bodies. Since the corporates are legal entities, they simply don't dare to stay at the wrong side of the legal system. So unless and until governments come up with a favorable regulation, we won't see a lot of companies jumping into this bandwagon.

Also another trouble for publicly listed companies are that they need to get a nod from the shareholders before they can jump into such investment. That's another pain area. Hopefully we will see more companies in the cryptospace soon but that would further centralize the cryptocurrency and the game can then be controlled by the corporates. Not really a desirable situation fo4 commoners like us!
2626  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🤜 GamblingBro.com 🤛 Your cryptocurrency gambling bro [Reviews & Tips] on: May 04, 2021, 01:06:54 PM
I seriously love this statement from your website,

Quote
You are not my BRO if:

-You are simply looking for something for free and feel like you are owed something without having to work toward it.
-You are using gambling to solve financial trouble.
-You are addicted to gambling.

Seriously gambling is not a method to solve financial problems. There are millions of people who gamble everyday but only one or two people get lucky to win jackpot. Gamblers need to understand that gambling can't make you rich unless you are extremely lucky.

If you can continue providing "honest" reviews about crypto gambling websites, there will be no turning back for you. All the best!
2627  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Charlie Munger hating on bitcoin on: May 04, 2021, 11:02:20 AM
People know Berkshire Hathaway only because of Warren Buffet and not because of this Charlie fellow. So what he thinks really don't matter to us. Even the crypto community has proved themselves immune from the comments of Warren Buffett. Charlie is just following the footsteps of his boss because if he thinks otherwise, he may have to loose his job.

So I don't think we should be making these people popular among the crypto community as a hater. Just let them comment and we do our own job. That's it!
2628  Local / India / Re: Planned Indian law on Bitcoin may give exit window to investors on: May 03, 2021, 06:05:09 PM

What do the mean by probe in past transactions? Does it means we will have to provide them all details of our trades and bounty rewards too?

Apparently yes if you receive a good amount of money during the exit window. So you will have to justify the source of the money and how you have earned them. It can be signature campaign or bounty rewards or even the gain from trading. So start tracking everything so that you can provide all information whenever needed. If possible, start converting your crypto holdings into cash asap. Because once the ban is announced, it will be hard to find traders in p2p exchanges. It's better to be safe than sorry.
2629  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tesla and market manipulation crime on: May 03, 2021, 03:36:51 PM
What Tesla did with bitcoin could be considered market manipulation, and that's a serious crime considered by the US government. The fact that the company invested $1.5B and make it public that bring a lot of investors to bitcoin, and after that, we see how bitcoin has a crazy jump in the prize, and now they sold the 10% when bitcoin was on its ATH.

As a reference, I will leave this link: https://www.fbi.gov/scams-and-safety/common-scams-and-crimes/market-manipulation-pump-and-dump-fraud

So, the question is, did tesla make market manipulation and you think the company will be charged for it?

It is indeed a market manipulation that Elon has done. Not just with bitcoin but also with dogecoin. He never indeed spoke about his dogecoin holding but I assume he must have invested few millions personally in dogecoin and then manipulated the price through his immensely popular twitter handle and booked a good amount of profit.

If the Financial Fraud Investigation Agency starts an investigation around such allegation, he will find that true!
2630  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Thailand to introduce in-person KYC for crypto exchanges on: May 03, 2021, 12:06:47 PM
Be prepared! Every other government will slowly follow the same rule of KYC even if they grant licenses to the crypto exchanges to operate from their country. The anonymity that cryptocurrency grants to its users, is actually seen as a challenge by the governments around the world. So slowly they will try to impose stricter kyc rules to the crypto exchanges.

The good part is that, such kind of regulations will give rise to the peer to peer exchanges operating from crypto friendly nations.
2631  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Feel Pressed Something while Gambling on: May 03, 2021, 09:54:15 AM
This is not what gambling is meant for. If you feel pressure during gambling, you must quit this space for good. Otherwise it will have long term affects on your mental health. Gambling is for relaxing, to be precise, it is an adult's way of relaxing. If you make money in the way, that's good! And if you don't, that should be ok because you should never gamble with something that you can't afford to loose.

The kids are the problem here because when kids gamble, they try to make money to fulfill their expensive wishes. That strictly should not be the case.
2632  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What are Bitcoin mixers, and why do exchanges ban them? on: May 03, 2021, 07:27:25 AM

What are Bitcoin mixers

OP has given an wonderful explanation so nothing more to add.

Quote
why do exchanges ban them?

Let's understand what is money laundering. Money laundering is a technique to hide the trail of the money. It involves multiple translations in different denominations to different beneficiaries so that actual trail of the money is lost.

Bitcoin mixers are exactly helpful in doing this in a seamless way through a global community which helps in effectively hide the trail of the source. Since most exchanges are legal businesses, they will obviously want to stand at the right side of the law. When coin mixers are involved, there is a high possibility that the bitcoin may be involved in illegal transactions in the past which may have been recorded in blockchain. That's why exchanges want to avoid any risk.
2633  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PoW and free energy on: May 02, 2021, 05:01:40 PM
I was wondering... When nuclear fusion becomes a thing in "the next 30 years", i.e., almost infinite and free energy production, what do you think will happen to proof of work? Will make the bitcoin consensus stronger or weaker?

If nuclear fusion is going to be centralized, as it seems for now (look at the ITER), then I think it can be a problem. Nation-state attacks could be feasible.

What made you think that nuclear energy is free!!! It's clean energy but it's not free in any way so get your facts right. But I do agree with your statement about energy production centralization. It may become difficult for big scale miners to continue their mining operations if a government wants to crack down on the mining farms. But that was always a risk because in majority of the countries, government owns the electricity distribution grid and controls the supply. So I don't think governments will take any such drastic step.

But even for argument if this happens, it will give rise to the home based miners. As the big players will be out of the network, the mining difficulty will go down drastically which will become profitable for the small miners to run their mining operations.
2634  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Warren Buffett Agrees That Bitcoin Is "Disgusting" on: May 02, 2021, 02:09:24 PM
A 90 year old man with a net worth of 73 billion USD. So he doesn't need to understand bitcoin in whatever way you may want to think. He has done great in his career and still achieving milestones in his life. He simply can overlook bitcoin or whatever new that is coming his way! He simply doesn't need to be bother about bitcoin.

Also he very well understands that bitcoin can seriously challenge the dominance of today's banking system. So hating bitcoin is a part of his job because he built his empire on the current financial scenario. I will let tmhis comments pass because he literally means nothing anymore for crypto ecosystem.
2635  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Bret Lee Bitcoin charity For India" on: April 30, 2021, 05:17:27 PM
Yes, Brett Lee has indeed donated 1 bitcoin to crypto relief foundation. I am glad that he didn't donate to PM cares fund otherwise his donation wouldn't have reached the needy people of India. But I don't like to link it to the upcoming crypto bill in any way.

Because India is going to ban crypto for sure. The bill has been finalized and will possibly be approved in upcoming parliamentary sessions. There's no doubt about it. It is just getting delayed due to the current covid situation in the country.
2636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US Bank to Offer Cryptocurrency Services Pending Compliance Approval on: April 30, 2021, 02:51:39 PM
It seems US bank is trying to stay ahead of the curve with some far sighted decisions by adopting cryptocurrencies within their own ecosystem. If I am not mistaken, JPM also planned to provide exposure to bitcoin investment to some of their chosen investors. So things are slowly getting favorable for us. Banks are understanding that if they don't jump into the digital currency bandwagon, they might loose their relevancy and financial foothold in next few years so they are trying to alter their approach to stay relevant in this highly competitive market.

All is well that ends well!
2637  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jose Mourinho Next Club? on: April 30, 2021, 12:12:27 PM
It seems Jose Mourinho has already signed up for some new assignments post the sacking from Tottenham. It seems he will join a sports radio station talkSPORT to be part of their coverage for the upcoming Euros.

Quote
Mourinho will participate in a wide range of shows, including the live GameDay programming and traditional breakfast slots. He will also be part of the team for all three of England's group stage matches against Croatia, Scotland and the Czech Republic.

Does that mean he will step out of coaching career?
2638  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Collapse of cryptocoin exchange in Turkey | VeBitcoin on: April 29, 2021, 04:58:56 PM
It's the second cryptocurrency in Turkey that's collapsing, after facing financial strains, according to a brief statement made on their website. Earlier this month, Turkey's central bank has moved into banning the use of digital assets for payments, while Turkish authorities have blocked Vebitcoin's bank accounts and detained four people.

Some Turks have switched to using cryptocurrencies to protect their savings from soaring inflation and the devaluation of their currency, the Turkish Lira. At the same time, the whole "Bitcoin is a bubble story" is on the rise again.

What are your thoughts about this incident, it's the second exchange so far that has shut down, what if other countries follow such measures too?

Source: https://www.cnbc.com/2021/04/26/turkish-bitcoin-exchange-vebitcoin-collapses-amid-crypto-crackdown.html

This incident is called "abusing the power of government". It is a forced murder of a business that is thriving in progressive countries like Japan and USA. But for the regressive countries, it is just a risk flagged by their beaurocrats and the banking lobby. What happened in Turkey is not an exception because many other countries are following the same path. It is a mindset which keeps a poor always poor. Sadly, India will soon follow the same path and destroy a multi million dollar industry around it!
2639  Local / India / Re: Best indian Peer to Peer or Fiat Exchange on: April 29, 2021, 04:28:54 PM
If OP is still looking for a place to buy or sell bitcoin for INR then localbitcoin is the only place as far as I know because most of the exchange doesn't support fiat withdrawal from india due to restrictions from RBI so get bitcoin through traders on LBC or us forum to find a trader with trusted escrow.

Localbitcoins is a p2p exchange. So there's no way they will send you fiat money to your bank account. They only hold your cryptos and not fiat money. What you are saying, is possible with exchanges like WazirX, Unocoin or Coinswitch Kuber, not with localbitcoins.

Also as the current legislative discussion around bitcoin is not really favorable, I would suggest to stay away from such exchanges that uses bank account transfers.
2640  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bustafish is a total scam | Unauthorized use for bab source on: April 29, 2021, 11:34:05 AM
Thanks for raising the alarm. If some casino is using an unlicensed version of the script, it's easy to assume that the casino owners are here to make some quick money and flee off once the pockets are filled in. If they are thinking for long term business, they would have done their licensing properly. Since that is not the case here, it's safe to avoid these casinos.

Btw, I don't understand why op wants the casino owner to contact him instead of Bustabit?
