Are they all living in pristine cardboard boxes in Zurich then, because apparently they can't live on their wages?

EDIT : The market priced BTC at $1200 a year or so ago and here we are  at $220, so I would not place too much faith in it as a guiding light. The market is made up of humans and will always be subject to their whims. In their day, 'the markets' placed 'the earth is flat' as a near certainty. And there were no black swans, only white ones, until somebody first saw one, in Australia, I believe. Lots of theories as to why there were none, but in the end, all nonsense.

As an aside, this one is actually a popular misconception. People have known the Earth was round since at least the time of ancient Greece. Eratosthenes famously calculated the circumference of the globe.

This myth apparently began in an American biography of Christopher Columbus, where the man sets sail to defend his position of a round Earth against the prevailing medieval beliefs.

1-2 million is not alot of money these days?

In some countries 1-2 million is only middle class (a small house costs that much). Not everyone lives in a third world Country.
Even 5 millions are not enough to retire here at the age of 30. But a 60 years old could probably live with that amount without working till he dies.

You are overestimating a little. Swiss median net monthly salary for a full-time worker is 5495 CHF ($5973). Working from 18 to 65 this amounts to roughly $3.4 million. If you can't retire on that at 30, then you need to cut down on your hookers.

why he dont  have another house  ?

Why not another penis, damn it? One after all is not enough.

Look at darkcoin, the savior for gpu miners, secretive....or a huge pump and dump (that actually helped me alot), and is now what?Huh?? A skidmark on bitcoin along with every other alt coin.

Let's not forget Auroracoin. From a $600 million market cap to $35 thousand. That has to be one of the most epic pumps of all altcoins.  Tongue
2627  Economy / Speculation / Re: $100 to $125 still possible? on: January 29, 2015, 06:52:39 PM
Didn't you see how much volume there was at 155? I don't think anyone will let that level breaks for others to take cheaper coins than that... too many fat hands at sub 200.

People have been saying that exact same thing for the past year, just sub in different numbers.  No one thought it could break 500, then 400, then 300, then 200, now 100.  I wouldn't be surprised if we see double digits (if only for a day or few hours).  Interest just isn't there, and lots of people who have been burned are out now.

Now, no now, no wait now, no wait wait now definitely. It reminds me of a man lost in the desert, convincing himself that the next dune will be the last.

The fact that you have made money in the past doesn't alter the inadvisability of losing [a part of] it now Undecided

It's a bet. The advisability or inadvisability of which is a product of probabilities. Unfortunately, most people's grasp of their world isn't probabilistic but binary. A Yes or a No with no maybe. A mountain or a valley with no place in-between.

Who's this "we", Kimosabe?

The creditor nations of Europe to whom the principal of debt is owed. 'We' can prove to be a kaleidoscopic term though, Tonto. Tongue
2631  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 27, 2015, 06:28:52 PM
So , your corrupt politicians did it now , they are to blame...
But what the hell happend in 1826, 1843, 1860, 1894 1932 ?

Oh wait , the politicians , the EU , the lizards ..
And in the 4th century BC ? 454 BC?

You guys have invented bankruptcy and the only times when you did not have a bankruptcy in each century were when you were under ottoman rule.

If they were such terrible debtors, why we were so eager to lend to them? It's no good painting them black and us white, as we were more than happy to lend irresponsibly to southern Europe, even when it was obvious the money was being squandered. Now we expect them to put on the hairshirt and undertake penance for the both of us.

Mmmh, here's the old overconfidence again: "No way this will go back lower than $270". "Only way from here is up.". "$400 later today" ... and so on.

No, talking my book here, I'm still long. But we're getting near the next manic period again in here, and not that much to show for it so far. I wish this market could ever rise in a more controlled fashion. Probably impossible though :D

ppl should be saying that this is not going up yet and everybody should be shorting (shorts have squeezed in this rise), then i would feel much more confident about this rise, maybe we didnt see enough blood yet with that 160 bottom...

It's going to be interesting to see what transpires over the next few days. This bears several similarities to 475.
2634  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 26, 2015, 05:42:15 PM

Bad taste? grow up bitch, these things happened so you even acknowledge them or go fucking hide somewhere to not hear or see the truth.

What could possibly be a greater acknowledgement of people's pain and misery than to serve as a source of amusement for us! I'm going straight home now to laugh at starving Somalians, for such is my magnanimity...

Sounds salacious.  Smiley
2636  Economy / Speculation / Re: How similar is this Crash to the 2011 one? on: January 25, 2015, 08:57:26 PM
Its price is driven by the chineses and most of them can't read english or couldn't care less for what we write here.

Yet amazingly, China is only running 152 full nodes at this moment. See here: https://getaddr.bitnodes.io/

But if they're mainly trading the coins, why would they need to run that many full nodes? There's almost no incentive for a trader to run a full node!? They are just in Bitcoin for the trading aspects.

Why would the Chinese trade but not participate. Other countries do not exhibit this peculiarity.

Their government hasn't made friendly noises and any attempts to make it actually useful have been squashed. There's zero merchant use there so why invest in altruistic infrastructure? They trade the coin itself and that's it.

Russia has a government making more unfriendly noises, has a population one ninth of China's, yet runs twice as many nodes.

some full nodes run over proxy. Numbers might not be accurate

True, but it would have to affect China to a vastly disproportionate degree to put it beside America.

Looks like a high number of coins are being bought and sold back and forth, check the price history on bitcoinwisdom.

It's almost like we had a market. Unbelievabubble!
