Nice to hear something again. It is true the innovation was always early.
I think it's still possible to make something out of the coin, but it starts by getting the trust back from the community. You should be more active on bitcointalk and involve the community in decisions by posting polls and other things. As a dev you should at least respond on questions within a day.
From a market perspective, DuckDuckcoin is competing with coins like 42 and 66, but compared to those, already quite a lot of coins are in circulation. DDC can only get back to the top again if it keeps innovating in algorithm and adds things like POS for example. Next to this, you should have more giveaway and have competitions with those DDCs you bought back with the BTC from the IPO.
To stop the circulation from getting out of hand, I would stop the mining at 80 DDC and let the rest be a slow POS that can run for 10 years to get the remaining 41 DDC.
Just my ten cents.

what is the password for rar go read the first post Open beta begins: April 17th 1 PM EST. So you have to wait for it to open and they'll give it then.

based bitcoin but the wallet is small .. The best programmer ever. so much btc ,so much money. SCAM! how can the beta client be so small? rar size below 1mb.....
i have some bad feeling.... tell me please u forgot some files to add into the rar......
I can contact the rest of the dev team but these are the most important reasons I can think of on the top of my head -Rar is heavily compressed -It doesn't use the standard QT GUI but instead a GUI made from scratch that is extremely lightweight -Some functions may be disabled during beta Expect a full and finalized version on launch Why don't you read/try the beta before making such allegations. It is not strange for a rar file to be that small.

Good news, everybody! Mac and Windows wallets will arrive shortly! I can recommend mining at Onfuscode pool for now. Don't forget to donate to them! With the current low difficulty, you get about 800.000 FRY a day with 1 MH! it s nice but who want to buy FRY? Buy? I want to shut people up by taking it!

Brilliant... This coin is dead
Don't be so dramatic man. Dr Bob has worked hard on it, so he is allowed to make mistakes.

Hi everybody, I like to play a bit with numbers to check things out. The (lack of) numbers on the IPO still gave me enough info to conclude that in stage 1, you would get probably 3 times the amount of coins for your investment For LTC transactions, I translated the value to 1/40 of BTC value. Stage one (Direct investors) BTC: 8.5045 %: 0.3095 Coins: 1.29621 Stage 2BTC: 0.7665 %: 0.9995 Coins: 2.92 Escrow:BTC: 19.36 %: 0.6893 Coins: 3.011 For stage 1 this means that 1BTC investment, gets you 152,414,604 EDGEThe escrow of course gives no good indication of the amount of BTC invested via that route, but combining the data from the site with the info from the blockchain, shows a lot of info is missing. Blockchain( https://blockchain.info/address/1KFtdiVELBcaVtaueqf8RJBkoZnjHbshKA): Total Bitcoins received: 28.46216232 BTC Total Bitcoins send (refunds?): 1.7536571 BTC Current amount: 26.71440522 BTC Looking at the percentages from stage one, you can see how much money was actually contributed via the escrow (the % of the amount of coins). This leads to the conclusion that 8.5045/0.30595 = 27.797 BTC was invested in stage 1This means that 27.797-8.5095= 19.2875 BTC was invested in Stage 1 via EscrowOf the escrow money 19.36-19.28= 0.08 BTC was for phase 2. This lack of information makes it really hard to estimate how much money was invested in stage 2, since they simply did not update the information. However, I can make a prediction. The blockchain shows they received 26.71 BTC in total. That means that 26.71-8.5045 = 18.2055 BTC was invested in stage 2. Combining that with the prediction that only 30% was done via direct payment (like stage 1), this leads to the conclusion that 18.2055/0.3= 60 BTC was invested in stage 2This would mean that for stage two with 1 BTC investment you get 50,000,000 EDGEDevs, correct me if I'm wrong, but it would be fair to update people on this. The dev was open about the investments. THanks The investments at the moment for stage 1 and 2: Stage 1 including escrow = 27.6 BTC Stage 2 including escrow = 21.4 BTC This means with 1 BTC investment in stage 2, you currently get 140,186,915 EDGE, which is quite high for a second stage. Besides this, it all looks pretty legit, so this was the third IPO I invested in (after REDD and Heavycoin). It's all about how much you think you can trust them and hope they don't screw you over. I have a good feeling about this one. The IPO is almost ending, so I checked what extra investments were made. The blockchain shows they received 53.30 BTC in total. That means that 53.30-8.5045 = 44.80 BTC was invested in stage 2. During the last estimation, the escrow was about 15% of the total money, so I would estimate the total investment for phase 2 at 44.8/0.85=52.71BTC This would mean that a 1 BTC investment currently would get you 56,915,196.35 EDGE. As a stage 1 investor, I am happy I got there early. ? i was told i would get 160mill for .8btc His numbers are off, but we are making investments at an alarmingly fast rate. Your 0.8 BTC gets you around 80 million right now, which is regardless a huge amount. That would mean you would currently get 80M/3000M = 2.67% of the stage 2 money. This would mean the total investment is 0.8/0.002677=29.884BTC. Looking at the BTC address you guys received 53.3 BTC and stage 1 only garnered 8.5 BTC via direct investments. How do you explain the difference? I like the way you approach the coin, but I really get the feeling that you do not want to be transparent, because you're afraid people will not invest. You are right about it. Dev seems not so good at math. I was intending to invest, but now it seems less and less appealing. Ever consider the fact that his numbers are wrong? He's not even including escrow when doing calculations. Shame you can't join us. I hope you at least witness the beta. My numbers might be wrong, but I can only rely on the figures from your public bitcoin address. Even with those figures it is clear the gains are much lower now. I am an investor in coin stage 1, so it is in my advantage to have many investors in stage 2 as well, but I just want to have some transparency. Right now, your numbers don't add up. The escrow is outside of the BTC address (assuming you only get the money after delivery of coins lateron). Or is the stage 1 escrow money already on your BTC address? In short: Just share the numbers. It's called transparency....

Why do you think its a ddos attack?? This is just running YOUR windows wallet software.
Because you try to brute force our ssh service. You got banned by our sec tools. We got DDOS from random ips. Why our logs tell us you try to bruteforce into our root serv ? I cant understand it. Just an update since it's been mentioned here by others (I just found out about it and didn't realize anyone knew about it yet) but yes we are creating a flea market site coming soon where world crypto-currency users can post items for sale and buy after contacting the seller.
The backend and testing will be under development through the middle of April and then the UI/UX will hopefully be completed by May for an official launch.
It was originally intended to support only the big 3 (in my mind) BTC, LTC and QRK. When I say big 3 I'm really saying the 3 I have in wallets for as I'm not really into altcoins that much since last year, however, one of my employee's is a big fan of EBT and based on their vetting and the stand EBT took against paid voting on exchange sites, there will be a section specifically dedicated to buying and selling items/services for EBT as well.
I already have a local motorcycle apparel shop interested (I'm an avid rider with an 02 GSXR 750 and 99 Triumph Legend 900 for cruising) as well as a few clients and friends eager to get rid of junk for coins.
Hopefully the BTC, LTC, QRK and now EBT communities will find it as something useful and it will help take the coins beyond just a penny stock investment type scenario and other similar sites will follow.
Please keep in mind we're not part of any coin's development team, this is a private project for the betterment of the crypto community. Also keep in mind I'm an old fart who doesn't really do web design/development anymore (retired) so this is as I said just a private project to help spread the word on alternative currencies. Don't expect too much.
Best of luck to EBT.
BTC: 16aKHz837to1x4j5EvjBvfUFr1xV4uTgrV - HiBC Development Fund EBT: 5jHd2eUEuvV5aDVoFrpMeGaG5fBe2Y4H5d - HiBC Development Fund
Just a reminder of what these guys are doing: http://www.cryptofleamarket.com/home.phpWe're one of the four selected coins which is great of course! Question: Will you segment the products per region and country?

How much is PoS annually?
I think it is 10% per 90 days. After those 90 days, you can move it to another wallet to mint it again. Proof of Stake explained: 100.00 EBT mature over a 90-day period. From Day 1 through Day 30, there is no change, but the coins "age" in the background On Day 30, Your coins become eligible for PoS minting From Day 31 through Day 90, Your chances of hitting a PoS block increase. After day 90 your chances dont get any better. When a Stake block is hit the input that was used gets locked for 25 blocks as the POS block matures. It is moved to the stake column and a transaction will appear in your wallet for 10 EBT After 25 blocks your 100EBT is returned and your 10 EBT is confirmed leaving you with 110 EB

What about changing the alg of the coin?
|
|
|
Every coin is dead except BTC.
300+ crypto-currencies and other than trade up for BTC on some obscure "exchange" there's nothing else you can do with them.
However...
EBT has an active dev team, EBT has an infrastructure slowly being built so that you can actually use the coin (buy and sell real goods for it) and it's a well built coin. As long as that keeps up, it will be profitable long term.
It took BTC 3 years before it became worth anything, don't expect EBT to make you a millionaire in 3 months without constant development, promotions and a solid infrastructure where people can easily use the coin to buy and sell stuff.
We're still in infancy phase of the altcoin market, indeed. Hope we can be one of the coins with a purpose.
