I’m a believer in this and seems like Evan and team have  the right combination.  The WebSite states that the "DarkSend" feature will be in RC1 testing on MainNet and the Wiki says  http://wiki.darkcoin.eu/wiki/(RC 2 as of May 2014) and will be open-sourced when complete.

I'm all for this technology, and enjoying the ride up, but seems like alot is riding on a feature which has not yet been implemented.

What happens if it is delayed or there is a problem with the implementation?
DarkSend works perfectly with the current RC (10.8.6) and has done for weeks. It *is* currently in beta though and has a 10DRK transaction limit, which will be lifted very shortly.

In under 48hrs  masternode payments go live, but that's really no big deal for users, just node ops, users wont notice anything. Except maybe further price rises... Wink

Masternodes, please restart!

I've noticed some nodes popping in and out of the masternode lists. I'd like all of the masternodes to follow these instructions to see if the problem gets fixed

1.) stop the daemon
2.) update to 10.8.6 if you haven't
3.) add "maxconnections=200" to your configuration
4.) wait ten minutes (it MUST be ten minutes! This will allow the masternode election entry to propagate)
5.) start the daemon and turn on the masternode

bump, plus should this have gone out on the mailing list?

Ok, just waiting on the 10 minutes then I'll restart Smiley
Me too. Smiley

edit: all restarted

I still cannot understand how those big sellwalls gets raped so quickly, like the 27 wall. I would expect that the seller would pull back his order, but no.....it gets instantly eaten Cheesy
Like I said earlier, all I see is whale blubber.
I think you mistake the intentions of some of them (the smart ones) - we're clearly being shepherded up. When profits are taken though, I think our market cap and momentum will carry us and there will be no big fall, just a brief dip then business as usual again.
I honestly don't know what everyone is talking about.  I held this baby since $1 and haven't seen a chart, sell wall or anything. I refuse to look at anything until Darkcoin's marketcap > litecoin's.

I cannot believe that Darkcoin is worth less than Litecoin, at a very fundamental level.
Don't get me wrong, I hold a lot and have no intention of selling anytime soon, but looking at the market activity I believe that much bigger holders than I are also in this for the long term, and are acting to make themselves steadily richer. Much richer. Currently I'm not complaining...  Grin

What was the malware like?
How can we be sure that our computer is safe?

I use the new miner with closed source, is there a way to be sure that there is not a keylogger in it or in any other programm on my computer?
I would not go near a closed source miner.

edit: 0.027 Mintpal buywall gone, we're on the move again.

Hey,

I've been in this bitcoin-altcoin thing for a while now and finally considering setting up a darkcoin wallet on my home pc. Mainly cause I want to order one of them funky looking wooden address yokes mentioned above.

Can someone educate me a bit? Would I be best installing ubuntu(dual boot) on my laptop. I'm fairly computer literate so if you just send me some links that are relevant that would be great  Wink

On another note, got to stop day trading... lost a fifth of my dark in the last week. Sad

But I was trying to play it safe and prevent losing it all (i.e. selling at times when i expected a possible decrease in price and knew I wouldnt be able to monitor it ..
Just download the wallet appropriate to your OS here, that's all there is to it: http://darkcoin.io/getstarted.html

And 99% of daytraders get burned, but you seem to have figured that out...  Grin

This rally seems to be targeting 0.027 or so before a potential pullback; if we break 0.027 immediately though watch out because a near-doubling is not that far off from there. This is basically what happens when the next BTC emerges in a world where BTC already exists. The realization that 'holy shit, this is the next Bitcoin and I'm not missing it this time' spreads like wildfire.

Just my 2DRK's.

JL
Good point. A lot of people wish they'd held or bought in early with BTC, those not wanting to miss the boat twice might accelerate DRK further.

Bots still a tad optimistic on the Mintpal DRK/LTC market.

By the way, even with a $5,000 bounty out there, nobody was able to do it.

What Evan is doing is very very hard.  VERY FEW people can do it.

As I've always said, you invest in the dev, not the coin.  And Evan is top tier.

OK I don't want to get into mud slinging. I just thought it was a bad idea. What's the other business you've invested in?
We're not divulging what the business is until it goes live, sorry.
dbay  Cool

Hmm Mintpal added a DRK/LTC market. Anticipating an exodus perhaps?
LOL, 100DRK currently on sale for 10000LTC

As I informed the irc group, we're buying to 0.03 minimum, theres hardly any sells left

There's a shitload for sale on Mintpal, knock yourself out.  Grin

I am sad today coz I only have 60 DRK lol  Grin I want to get more but is it very expensive now you think?
You need to make your own decision, but personally I will be buying again tomorrow at whatever the price happens to be, I think $50 per DRK isn't far-fetched at all.

DRK remains the only coin that actually does something useful for everyone beyond BTC. And very useful to many.  Wink

Whatever is going on here is about three orders of magnitude more organised than the usual trollbox jump-on-the-pumpwagon.

Based on the timing of this rally, i'm suspecting China may have come into the Darkcoin market.
I don't think so, this is existing big stakeholders making a move. In my experience the Chinese are a bit more cautious, we haven't seen much action from them yet, but we will soon.

Long way to go yet I think.

Just look at the order books !! Its massive trade bots at impecable full integer nominations. Dont go in now !!
Yep, with a balance that looks like an upwardly push to me.

I dunno, im getting a lil nervous, i think a correction is due tbh, very rarely have i seen this high this fast without a correction
Ha! You aren't fooling me mate.  Grin

Lots of press today, I expect a fair bit more in coming days.
2659  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: May 22, 2014, 11:52:29 PM
BTC-e trollbox is a running commentary on the DRK market and it's not even on their exchange.

Wait till The Koolio gets there. Total home court advantage Cheesy Few people know that Koolio is both an LTC and DRK whale.
If he's a big LTC bagholder, like half the BTC-e trollbox seem to be, that might explain their reluctance to add DRK. Or maybe it's Koolio shepherding the price on Mintpal.

But who knows?

Masternode payment start : 66.1 hours left

Do update.

Thanks for the reminder.  I have a masternode but still have some questions that I have not been able to find a firm answer for.  I want to verify that we must be running 10.8.6 RC2 for masternode payments and not stable 9.4.6, correct?  Is there any way to verify from the logs it is processing correctly or do I just have to trust the results of masternode list before the switch Sunday?

Lastly when running a masternode with a remote/local setup which wallet do the payments end up in?  Do they end up in the empty wallet on the masternode or on the local isolated wallet that has the 1K DRK?

Any insight is appreciated.
You need to have the latest darkcoind on your masternode, and locally too if you are doing the remote/local thing. So, 10.8.6 RC2, unless there's another one in the meantime.

Easiest way I've found to check the logs, is to 'cp debug.log debug2.log' so you've got a snapshot if you like, as it's always growing, then 'nano debug2.log' and have a scroll through. If you see 'Is capable masternode' and a bunch of stuff that looks like it's processing transactions, it's probably working.

No idea which wallet accumulates earnings with local/remote, sorry.
