2641  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It is time to declare war on Overclock.net on: May 17, 2016, 02:12:53 PM
Yeah, all those know-it-all professor of economics are fucking annoying, they think they have a say on bitcoin when they can't even grasp how the fundamentals on the protocol work, they don't understand the mining process, the consensus algorithm, its features.. anything.
But what i dont get is why would you declare war on an entire site if its only some random guy posting in the forums tho.
2642  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's Great Schism - A Compendium on: May 17, 2016, 02:02:44 PM
Well I think if Classic wasn't already done for, this incident of seeing half of the nodes going away in a second it's like the nail in the coffin, and this coffin cointained a dead horse which was kicked to death.
The funny part is, on /btc/ they are already coming up with conspiracy theories like "all those nodes were bought by blockstream to discredit classic".. crazy!!
2643  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Purchased my 1st Game from Steam in the UK using Bitcoin. on: May 17, 2016, 01:55:30 PM
I want to buy a game now on steam too using Bitcoin for the first time, but it's way too expensive, so I was considering buying a cdkey in some place like g2a, which is at almost half the price, but im too paranoid about the cdkeys that those guys are selling being stolen or something. I mean how can they sell a game for half the price? there must be something going on, and it's a new game.
2644  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Can you trust stuff like Hashocean? on: May 17, 2016, 01:51:52 PM
Im thinking about ways to put some of my bitcoins to generate some passive income instead of just sitting there for a decade. Ive seen a lot of talking about making gains with hashocean, but it takes about 2 to 3 months for return of investment to be made, and beyond those 2 to 3 months you start making gains. Of course, who knows if hashocean will be operative in not 2 to 3 month, but tomorrow...
2645  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is gambling so addicting? on: May 16, 2016, 02:41:23 PM
Casino will always have an edge, otherwise all casinos would go bankrupt, it's pretty simple, that's why I think the people that complain because casinos aren't fair and don't do 50/50 are not getting what running a business is. If casinos were to be completely fair, they would never take enough profits to keep it running.
2646  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 198 Werdum vs. Miocic - Picks and Discussion on: May 16, 2016, 02:20:05 PM
Nice one from Miocic, I knew he had the chance here, or in other way when too many people started saying how betting on Werdum is "easy money" it's probably a trap
I was about to place my bet on parlay for Werdum - Rua - Cyborg. Could have suffered a loss on that Werdum fight and it's a bummer to see him just backpedal and run away from Miocic. Great fight for Cyborg, that knock out is really solid. Rua made it via slit decision. It's a good card, should have been better if Werdum made it as well.

I don't see how he ran away, in fact his mistake was the opposite, he was charging against him going right forward to him and he got knocked the fuck out because his defense and overall posture was sloppy and all over the place. Miocic waited for the mistake and he swallowed that punch which left him at the floor with a face that resembled those masks with his face he was trying viralize with.
2647  Economy / Economics / Re: Let's Be Honest. We Are Waiting for $100/BTC to buy on: May 16, 2016, 01:40:31 PM
OP waiting for 100$:

Im sorry man but the dream of 100 bucks for a bitcoin is over, that one sailed a long time ago. Now its the time to stack up like crazy, to buy every second, no matter what the price is, because it will be way, way higher in no time, so stop looking at the price and just buy like a madman, there's no other way out, it's now or never.

Of course its your money, so do whatever you want to do.
2648  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I never spent any savings on Bitcoin and I'm not broke on: May 16, 2016, 12:54:04 PM
I'm sure plenty have gone broke with Bitcoin. You could've bought at $1200 and sold at $200. If you'd dabbled in trading as well there's no shortage of capacity for setting your money on fire. As for gambling...

Only the people that wanted short term benefits would do that. If I had the misfortune to buy at 1200$, I would have held as long as it takes, because deep down I know we will go higher than 1200$ eventually, but most people that got in Bitcoin during the high rise where clueless about Bitcoin and have no notions about it and how it has a big importance long term, so they would end up panicking and selling at a big loss.
2649  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to teach someone about Bitcoin on: May 16, 2016, 12:51:26 PM
I would still wait a while before starting bitcoin conversations in real life. The fact that now bitcoin is accepted in Steam, might be very useful to start a conversation, with at least people that like playing videogames, because everyone uses steam to buy games so when they see the new payment option, you can start a conversation from there.
2650  Economy / Economics / Re: Is gold better than Bitcoin? on: May 16, 2016, 12:28:09 PM
Bitcoin destroys gold in every aspect possible. It is more easy to use and move around, it can be encrypted, it can be sent all over the world instantly.. you can't do shit nothing with your gold, other than hiding it in your closet and hope no one finds it. The only thing gold has is epic network effect, that's all. Other than that, it's trash.
2651  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 198 Werdum vs. Miocic - Picks and Discussion on: May 15, 2016, 04:43:20 PM
I did a good job by staying aside and not betting on this fight. Werdum was my favorite and I was about to bet a win on the guy, but something told me that is starting to get past his prime.

I think im not going to bet on UFC until UFC 200. Im contemplating betting on Daniel Cormier. Guy is super talented, and even if he is way shorter than Bones, I think he is the one that can stop the annoying Bones unstoppable reign.
2652  Other / Archival / Re: Who won the biggest amount in Satoshimines ? on: May 15, 2016, 04:37:37 PM
Im not a big player on satoshimines, I enjoy playing slots (specially the slots in bitcoin video casino where you can have 20 lines which means tons of combinations and progressive wins) and some dice rolling, but I once did some satoshimines for fun and went from 0.01 initial investment to 0.5 or something like that. It's not much but it was great for me, I was lucky.
2653  Economy / Economics / Re: General Panama Papers Discussion on: May 15, 2016, 04:34:08 PM
This shows that the losers who don't have an offshore bank account are ready to do everything to ruin the successful people who have one.
Tax heavens were invented because most countries are hell! I love BTC because it will enable the middle class to afford all the advantages of a tax heaven without the high cost.

The people that can't afford having a tax heavens aren't losers, they are just fucked by the system, I doubt you have enough money to get away with a tax heaven account and so do I. Most people are stuck in this loophole where you can't make enough money and if you start making you get fucked by taxes. Most people with offshore accounts are people with tons of connections that come from decades of family tradition. Then we have the big boys like Google and Apple paying next to nothing legally while the rest of people are forced to pay higher taxes. So there is to options: you either put a global tax for everyone so it's fair, or (since this is not very realistic) you use something like Bitcoin to defend against this scam against the working class or the small businessman.

Of course, you will always end up being forced to pay tax if you want to buy real state or a car or something like that anyway.
2654  Economy / Economics / Re: Factors That Make One Cryptocurrency Worth More Than Another on: May 15, 2016, 04:28:26 PM
The factors that matter are

1) Dev team: A trusted dev team that has provided a solid code for a long time and has delivered good innovations
2) Network effect: how popular the network is

That's all. And Bitcoin is #1 because it has the best dev team and the best network effect.
2655  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Theymos: “Bitcoins Belonging to Satoshi Should Be Destroyed” on: May 15, 2016, 04:23:20 PM
Either theymos is trolling himself (proposing something that can't be done), or he can. You stop trolling.

Do you honestly think that Theymos can implement coin blacklisting by himself?

Implementing a workable coin blacklisting scheme would take consensus.  Big word, look it up.

Yeah I don't understand how people assume that theymos can press a button and destroy coins at will? are these people retarded or just new to Bitcoin? if there is not a big consensus such thing will never happen. Theymos has a strong voice in the community but thats all, he doesnt make it or break it, he just gave his opinion on the matter.
2656  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Halving is a profitable??? on: May 15, 2016, 04:07:22 PM
Im wondering more, what will everyone do if there is no price rise after the block halving? Will you all still hold onto your coins and continue trading or will you dump for whatever coin you think is the next best thing?
The most sane thing to do is to hold. The price will go up eventually, no matter how much you have to wait, so if it goes down after the halving, all you have to do is buy more and think that you are getting Bitcoin at a discount.
2657  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My computer have just been hacked for BITCOIN ransom! on: May 15, 2016, 04:01:39 PM
You should never have important information on a windows machine. If you can't afford 2 computers (because only total isolation is safe) you can just get constant backups on your usb pendrive of any sensible data, so if some fucker encrypts your computer you just have to format it and they will get nothing out of it. Also install malwarebytes anti ramsonware software.
2658  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Many Days You Remained without playing gambling? Gamble Free? on: May 14, 2016, 04:36:20 PM
I'm already on my 8th day without gambling. I have lost quite some money from last week so I decided to prevent myself from gambling since I think it's not a really lucky time for me to gamble.

The longer you stay without gambling, the less you need to gamble. It's like even if we are not real addicts, the less you do it the less you need it, at some point you can be months and months without feeling gambling anymore. Nowadays I find myself forced to gamble sometimes, I dont even feel like it.
2659  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is gambling so addicting? on: May 14, 2016, 04:28:51 PM
I don't know why but I always get a feeling to gamble, after then losing my money, I quit for some time and then continue, but I know I will lose my btc Sad

Why is it so addictive?
I dont know what makes gambling so addicting, the problem might on our self,we can't stop doing something that make us cry,ts same when you fall in love, its blind Grin
have you try to search on internet about this?if you have try that and found a good solution, share with us please Cheesy

the simple answer why gambling addiction. because gambling is a way to make money quickly. so the people will continue to addiction to make quick money from gambling.

Typical gamblers are likely to go back to a casino to try their luck for the day. Sometimes, they get the feeling that they will win a fortune for that day but unfortunately, most of them go home without cash on their pocket.

Some people actually do get lucky sometimes but can't stop themselves from betting because they are still in profit. Even if they lose, it's okay because they will still have the same amount of money as they did when they get there. Until they eventually lose some more and then chase those losses. Chasing those losses only makes them bankrupt.

Some gamblers get to stop themselves when they are still on a winning streak though and goes home happily. These kind of gamblers will of course go back to the casino. After a period of time, if you ask them how does it feel to lose a lot of money, they will only say "sometimes you win, sometimes you lose". It's a sign that they are gambling on a regular basis.

The real gambler addict doesn't really care about the outcome. It's not like they feel better after winning and think like "well, this was enough for today. True gamblers addict will just keep on gambling even if they are on a winning streak and anyone with a functional brain would know that after a couple of lucky strikes it's time to stop.
2660  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can bitcoin rise up to 800$ this year ? on: May 14, 2016, 04:12:22 PM
800$ is reasonable price and i think Bitcoin will reach this price after the next halving. However i am not sure if that's will happen this year surely , may be it will reach this price in the first months of the coming year.
I also believe bitcoin really would have reached $ 800 and will continue to grow. But for this year are unlikely to be because the price is going up gradually. In the next year for sure bitcoin will reach that price, and will continue to grow, I'm sure of it.

there are still a few months to reach. and we have a halving in the year, then the end of the year . I hope all that can make the price touched
 $800 by that time  Smiley

There are two possibilities, we either reach halving at 800$, but if we do, we are going to go much higher, 800$ is too close to 1000$, so we will get there fast.
Or we don't reach halving at 800$, but halving will be the thing that ignites the price to go up at around there.
