2641  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blocking accounts by PayPal for crypto activity on: November 26, 2020, 09:34:18 AM
This is exactly the situation i went through back in the day and when you have huge amounts in your account they will simply lock your account and then ask to verify the source and provide all the necessary documents and even if you provide every documents it will take a long time for them to release them again and their customer care back then was shitty as you could get a response from them every couple of months for a query and it took more than 9 months for them to release the account and my money and luckily for me BTCitcoin came into existence and never used them ever since.

I was always vocal about their shitty business and i warned about them in all of my posts here and i am not sure how long it will take now to release the account even after furnishing all the documents, hopefully the customer service improved as my situation happened more than a decade ago.
2642  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It is fine to support Bitcoin Cash. on: November 25, 2020, 04:47:18 PM
We don't all like paying high fees. Paying $10 to send a transaction is extremely high especially to people in poor countries..
No one wants to spend $10 for sending a transaction and if you are trying to tell that you need to spend $10 for a BTCitcoin transaction i have to tell you that you are wrong in your assessment, on an average the fees is always well below a dollar.

This forum is filled with a lot of toxic bitcoin maximalists. Bitcoin was created to be a peer to peer currency but we have this narrative pushed by people like michael saylor that its not meant to be a currency.
You are in a BTCitcoin forum and complaining that most are BTCitcoin maximalist and why is that a huge surprise. There is an altcoin section and there are thousands of coins having a platform even the shit coins are allowed to have a discussion and what is the real complaint.

The only issue you would encounter is when other members from other alt coins shilling their claim that they are the best coin and much better than BTCitcoin and if that happen you might hear some lecture countering your claims and after that if you claim that it was a big surprise that there are people defending BTCitcoin what should i tell  Tongue Grin.

Wow, you've managed to arrive at exactly the wrong conclusion.
You were tricked into believing that bitaccelerate was indeed helping you getting the transactions confirmed because you were sending them when the network was not full and they would have been confirmed without you doing anything extra. The proof is that when the mempool is full it doesn't do a thing for you.
After having a few drinks it is hard to articulate what i wanted to say Cheesy.  I had no faith in these accelerators and the site i mentioned was created to make ad revenues and i had no idea who is running that but if a pool is running one then they can accelerate that and viabtc is the only accelerator i knew and it was not working for a long time and was not aware of any pool running one.

As per the suggestion by bL4nkcode i tried antpool accelerator with a lower fees to try whether it is working but i did not see any difference.

Also this guy seems to be helpful:

The track at Adelaide Oval is expected to offer no additional support for the pacers, and also Virat Kohli will be a part of the Indian playing XI. It is going to be an evenly contested match and although Australia are the favorites, I wouldn't discount the chances of India. And from what I have heard, Navdeep Saini may be included in the playing XI, along with Bumrah and Mohammad Shami.
The Adelaide Oval is a hunting ground for David Warner and he scored centuries in both of his innings against India in 2014 and Virat Kohli also made centuries and when they last met in Adelaide Warner was not in the game due to suspension and now he is back and it will be a battle by batsman and on the final day it will help the spinners.

Thanks for the feedbacks, it comforts me a little from last night Smiley.
Good questions but i did not identify that the timer had anything to do with the points we get for every answer until the last few questions, it was a fun one and thank you for conducting something for our anniversary.

Update the game link to the main page.

I guess I could ask for everybody's fight of the night, I post a screenshot of the parlay and if it wins, part of the winnings go to the guys who guessed it right.

I'll figure something out in a couple of days.
That would be cool and today we did not see any upsets in the main card but in the early prelim and the first fight of the card i was expecting Louis Cosce to win and if i went for a parlay i would have lost because Sasha Palatnikov won the fight.

Deiveson Figueiredo is a beast and he finished Alex Perez in less than 2 minutes with guillotine choke, but I was also impresses with Tim Means performance and win.
Alex Perez took his back but then the way in which Deiveson Figueiredo was able to crank a choke and i thought he could pop his head out but the hold was really tight. In the Tim Means fight he fought really technical with good jabs while Mike Perry was all power.

For me Jennifer Maia impressed me the most as she was on game till the third round and she was far superior in the clinch position and it took some rounds for Valentina Shevchenko to get into the rhythm.

Being able to send money to whoever you like, without a banker says if you are allowed to, isn't an improvement?
Remove the power from governments to print money, isn't an improvement?
I am using BTCitcoin from a very early stage before it hit the main stream and before that i was using PayPal who freezes funds and to release the funds it took months and tons of mail exchanges and Liberty Reserve and the reason i started using BTCitcoin was empowerment without the help of a third party.

Another faketoshi reader  Cheesy

Bitcoin was intented as a store of value since the genesis block. This is a clear message criticizing central banks worldwide and showing bitcoin as an alternative.
That is the problem, just read Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System rather than picking and choosing what suites you Tongue, just have common sense and the context, i am not here telling that it is a complete solution, we are improving in stages. BTCitcoin right now is a high risk store of value and there is no debate about that but the core functionality should be electronic cash system and we will achieve that.

Additionally, what all you guys say is "technology" is just a design choice. 10 minutes blocktime is a design choice due to limitations taht a smaller blocktime would case, jsut as like blocksize.

Reducing a parameter to a smaller blocktime or a bigger block wouldn't make it a new tech.  Cheesy
When i started mining back in the day i was mining solo and i was not aware of the block limit and i stopped mining when i burned couple of expensive graphic cards, now a days i care less about the back end of things and there are enough smart people taking care of that, for years i am just a front end user and what i said was in context with where i started using BTCitcoin and why and not because some hypothetical nonsense you are thinking.

There is a sayin - Whatever happened in the past does not determine the future.
This can be a general term but when it comes to medication which can have serious consequence on the health of a generation then the past is important as well.

Pfizer was trying something else and got something else. But, still viagra is the number one sold medicine in the market.
Yeah when a grand father takes a medicine for heart problems and then as a bonus he has a hard on, how convenient  Cheesy.

Currently pfizer is the only company claiming 95 percent success rate in curing from this damm virus. No other company has come out publically claiming sucess in curing COVID19.

I do not think they will jeopardise their reputation with false claim. There will be side effects but they will be mild and curable.
The side effects is more important and they are yet to reveal everything about the vaccine.

Punjab region is pretty safe for cricket. All they need is, convince one of the SENA country to visit there for Test Series. Limited overs cricket (for example next year T-20 series against England) is not going to change situation much but yeah this would help SENA countries to think about changing their status quo.
It would be great if we could separate politics and sports, more than enough pressure in life and sports is the relief for many and i would like to see the situations changing for the better.

Here is why btc will die as a crypto
.7028 btc fee to send .2191 btc
There was a delay in confirmation for a while but the mempool is not full and you can make a successful transaction with just 14 sat/B within 10 to 20 minutes and if you are interested in that and you want a much lesser fees 3 sat/B can confirm within an hour or two.

If you think the reason why bitcoin exist is to make fast and cheap transactions, you don't understand what cryptocurrency is about.

Bitcoin is not about sending money fast or cheap, but about sending it freely: Immutability, censorship-resistance, and permissionless.
In the beginning BTCitcoin was all about sending money fast and cheap but things changed after 2015.

Bottom line is that Bitcoin is pretty trash as a currency, I'm not decided on it's future as a long-term store of value but it's certainly a lot brighter there than as a currency.
I understand what you are saying but we are still young as a currency and we will sort out the shortcomings, right now the only problem is micro transactions and lightning is a solution and we will see more upgrades in the future.
2650  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: November 21, 2020, 05:22:02 PM
Parlayed Figueiredo and Shevchenko by KO at 3.5.
I might be parlaying this bet but i need to know which referee is officiating the bout for  Valentina Shevchenko and Jennifer Maia Grin .

^  Caldewood was supposed to fight Shev for the belt last June but Shev got injured.  Calderwood then made a weird decision to fight Maia a couple of months later and lost.  So Maia won as the underdog and got Calderwood's spot to fight Shev.

Edit:  All Calderwood needed was just wait for Shev.  She didn't need to fight Maia.
The reason might be the co main event spot and she needs the payment.

Figueiredo is still unbeatable. Today's fight is going to be pretty difficult for Perez, Figueiredo blows every fighter and goes with a solid 19-1 score, it's worth earning extra money on Figueiredo. Platinum Mike gonna smash Means tonight, I'm his big fan.  Wink
Mike Perry is kind of crazy as he is not having any coaches in his corner and in his last fight his girl friend was in his corner and for this fight he announced anyone bidding the highest money could be in his corner  Cheesy. Not sure what he is doing and whether he is getting proper training or training partners and hence it is a risky bet.
2651  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Pakistan has started work on legalizing bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies on: November 21, 2020, 12:36:14 PM
After a while, we as a community must realise that legalisation is sometimes just a cover for excessive regulation.
The only thing i can think is the increase in taxation, other than that what excessive regulation they can come up with.

There is really no need for bitcoin to be legalised for it to reach its full potential. After all, it is decentralised and does not need a central sanctioning entity to endorse or back it up in order for it to function, which is its entire premise in the first place.
Exactly but what can be done to get rid of the the scams in the cryptocurrency market.

I think that given the history of Pakistan with a very restrictive and hostile attitude toward bitcoin, it is very likely that this will be a case of revenue-grab by the government as opposed to any serious attempt to integrate bitcoin and blockchain tech into the mainstream economy.
Integrating BTCitcoin and blockchain technology into the mainstream economy is not that easy and it will take a really long time to see those major shift.
2652  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: November 20, 2020, 11:08:37 PM
I thought they would be touring Pakistan early 2021 which is why I thought that way. Nov 2021 seems like a relatively safe period to tour the country since the vaccines from companies like Pfizer etc will probably be available globally by then.
Regarding Pfizer vaccine i made a rant in another topic about the company, the company who created a medicine for heart patients but then they need to promote that as Viagra says a lot Cheesy.
No idea what what the situation would be as the second wave is hitting hard and it is hard to predict what the future holds.

However, any terrorist threats before the tour would most likely put the series in jeopardy though I hope nothing happens.
Hopefully we will not see any mishap as Imran Khan might do anything in his power to provide the security for the players.
2653  Economy / Economics / Re: Effective Covid-19 vaccine found on: November 20, 2020, 06:28:07 PM
Great news today: "us pharmaceutical giant Pfizer and German biotech firm BioNTech have announced that their coronavirus vaccine is more than 90% effective in preventing Covid-19 among those who have no evidence of previous infection."
I was scrolling through mostly all the responses regarding this news and i would like to introduce the company Pfizer, Viagra is created by Pfizer which is now commonly used to treat erectile dysfunction and they developed the drug initially for heart patients and i would say they need to change that pitch and made some changes and made a medicine for erectile dysfunction  Cheesy.

So what i am trying to tell is that i am skeptical until they are able to prove conclusively that the vaccine they are developing is conclusive and is able to eradicate the virus, until then i am not going to believe what they are claiming.

The economic incentives is another topic altogether and for the entire world to go back to normal we need a vaccine and there is no denying that.
2654  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: November 20, 2020, 02:37:06 PM
Placing a bet on Jennifer Maia and winning it would appear to be similar to gambling on an ICO token and profiting 10x of your investment hehehe.
Jennifer Maia is a huge underdog for a title fight and it is not a surprise as all her opponents are and there is no contendor in sight that could snatch that title away and the only move or a challenge for Valentina Shevchenko is to move up and challenge Amanda Nunes once again.

In the co-main event of UFC 255, Jennifer Maia is set to fight Shevchenko for the flyweight title. The Brazilian is a massive underdog and not many are giving her a chance. However, Maia said in the lead-up to the fight she got a lengthy message from Nunes on how to defeat Shevchenko.
The only fighter who was able to take Amanda Nunes till the last round after the resurgence of Nunes was Valentina Shevchenko and their last fight was a close split decision and the only advice Nunes could give is to never get finished and swing till the end so that the judges makes the decision  Cheesy.

2655  Economy / Economics / Re: Indian Bank to be acquired by DBS on: November 20, 2020, 09:21:26 AM
I wonder how people are fooled into believing that this bank's collapse is linked to Covid! Let me tell you it has nothing to do with this pandemic situation. A bank can't fail for few months of bad performance. Let me tell you that there are more small scale banks are just waiting in the queue to declare themselves are bankrupt!
That is the magic of politicians who only open their mouth to lie and then if they have a blind following who can shill their every decisions and have an IT cell that could spread fake news and propaganda and some could be fooled if they keep repeating the process. The bank in question here is Lakshmi Vilas Bank and they are struggling for a few years and if i remember correctly the DBS made the proposal last year and still they are in talks with the RBI.

It is happening because of the tremendously bad leadership of the BJP government. India is a country where we have a Ministry for cows! It is a country where building a temple become a matter of national importance rather than building a factory. India is a country where government has no money to provide basic healthcare but has enough money to kick-off central vista project worth few thousand crores.
Not just cows, but a huge shelter and toilet for crows spending thousands of crores (Statue of Unity) while many are struggling to make ends meet and i think they are building such shelters around India Grin.

The main reason why Lakshmi Vilas Bank failed was because the bank shifted it's focus from  SMEs to Big Houses. The bank lent over 700 crores to Ranbaxy and Fortis and both parties defaulted loan repayment. LVB having less capital couldn't revive from the loss.
Why was a major decisions to change the policies and this is not the only bank that is suffering from huge default loan repayments. Who knows how many politicians and bureaucrat earned commissions for sanctioning these loans.
2656  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin be Trade at $318,000 by End of 2021? on: November 19, 2020, 11:57:20 PM
I will certainly have a panic attack if the price of BTCitcoin touches hundred thousand next year and the reason is quite obvious it is impossible to see those valuation in a short period of time unless you accept that the price of BTCitcoin is a bubble and it will burst every rally and you need to wait another 4 years to see the bubble again and i do not want to see that but we might reach those valuation in the next 10 years.
2657  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: November 19, 2020, 04:41:00 PM
The political situation here is getting worse with every passing year. In both Pakistan and India, right-wing parties are in power and they don't want to compromise on anything. Then Pakistan has to deal with the additional handicap of poor security situation at home, which has forced them to play most of the bilateral series in the UAE. This has resulted in huge losses for the PCB, and as a result they are unable to properly fund the domestic game.
I believe if India was ruled by a liberal government and with Imran Khan in power in Pakistan there was a real possibility of sorting out their political differences and go about peacefully but with a right wing party who identity them behind a religion and carrying out their agenda without taking care about the constitution it is an impossible task.

If you people watch cricket closely, you must have seen "Chacha Cricket" among the spectators whenever there is a match in which Pakistan is playing. You will find him going in every country to support the team.
Chacha along with Sudhir Kumar Chaudhary who paints himself as the Indian flag honoring Sachin were the biggest fans i know in cricket and their dedication to the game is outstanding, respect.
2658  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: November 19, 2020, 02:08:55 PM
How that's a big risk if England team come to Pakistan and that too at the end of 2021. By that time the situation will be under control and the vaccine may be available.
I am not sure about the development of vaccine and it is hard to guess whether the situation will be under control by that time.

However i think the England team should visit even before to Pakistan because recently many international players visited Pakistan to play the PSL and everyone is safe due to excellent safety environment for the visitors.
It is a good argument, Pakistan toured England and resumed cricket after the lock down and the players visited Pakistan for PSL and if they are satisfied with the security then they can travel and play the series and hopefully everything will be safe as i have heard about the experience of Sri Lankan players when they were attacked by terrorist and how they escaped narrowly.
2659  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another mistake in Bitcoin fees? on: November 18, 2020, 11:29:05 PM

But even with that, Bitcoin transaction fees are still on the high side. This is one of the downsides of transacting with bitcoin(at the moment).
The BTCitcoin transaction fees are high but most of the time if you have the patience you can send with lower fees and i was able to sent with just 17 SAT/B and it got confirmed within half an hour. Sure there are times the mempool is full but sometimes it comes down drastically as well.

Edit: I just looked it up on the blockchain and, if the person is kind hearted, he may return it. However, humans are naturally greedy. My solicitude to the owner.
You can hope that the miner will return a portion and i remember a similar instance in the past where the miner returned a percentage if i remember correctly.
2660  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 18, 2020, 01:53:30 PM
IMO, Pakistan should make use of the current opportunity. Because they were one of the first countries to contain the spread of COVID 19. After an initial spike during June, the number of new infections declined to 400-800 per day. On the other hand, the other cricket playing nations (apart from Sri Lanka and New Zealand) are witnessing steep spikes in COVID 19 infections.
As per the COVID official count the number of patients in Pakistan is rising around 2500 per day for the past one week and Bangladesh is also in the same situation but a slightly lower patient count. The situation in Australia is also not that great as they might shut down the entire country again.

India is leading on that aspect as well because after the initial banging of pots and pans they forgot to continue that process Cheesy.
