2641  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: February 15, 2023, 08:35:11 PM
Am here feeling like Manchester City will win this game easily but I think the referee will be the party pooper of this game!

As far as I know such games need some kind of tolerance to allow for smooth play but Taylor has been stealing the headline here.. Hope my City to win 2-1 comes through  Roll Eyes

2643  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Choosing between your relationship and gambling. on: February 15, 2023, 07:12:48 PM
There's currently a heated issue between an older cousin of mine and his fiancee, it's a gambling related issue that's now looking like a threat to their relationship. Here's what happened;
It should never get to this!
My cousin as I know has been an active gambler for as long as I could remember and he's one person that gamble responsibly as he takes it as something that's part of a side hustling and nothing more
The key word here is responsible gambling and if it's there this shouldn't be a problem! BTW why is it that people don't imbrace the skeletons their better halfs have than trying to change them when they settle together???

Quote
and he added that the winning streaks he has been getting has really been supportive to him financially too.
Clearly the brother here needs the money for some peace of mind and maybe that's the only fan he might be getting...

I get to know this cause that's what he told me when I asked him why does he have to engage in online gambling when he has a good paying job.
This might not always be as we assume, maybe he has loans and other liabilities like supporting the family and this is one way he has found a way to raise the extra cash.. forget the well paying job, like they say "more money more problems!"

The disturbing issue here is that a day ago his fiancee whom both have been dating for about a year now, she for the first time had access into his mail and discovered lots of email messages both previous and current from the particular gambling sites he has a gambling account with and her awareness of this has made her to ask my cousin to either chose between quiting from engaging in any form of gambling or ending their relationship.
Why all this pressure when they aren't even married and btw, when you go out looking for trouble.. I guarantee you that you will find it and here the fiancée found it! And in whatever relationship, I think boundaries deliberately need to be there for ones peace of mind... Its not worth it trying to bring all walls down to have transparency through out.

Her reasons is because she has this brother that's into gambling and his gambling habit has led to him selling off important properties of his and some that belongs to the whole family just to meet up with his uncontrollable gambling urge.
If this is true, case closed responsible gambling doesn't exist.

2645  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People will choose bitcoins more if the number of cryptocurrency option is less. on: February 15, 2023, 01:37:23 PM
Bitcoin was the name when the pool of coins was so small for everyone, but interest in cryptocurrencies grew and people with all kinds of ideas got into this world and developed their own coins which has really divided the general interest in bitcoin alone...and definitely if the pool of coins were limited to a small number of coins, of course bitcoin would have been the talk of the day no doubt about this!

Quote
People will choose bitcoins more if the number of cryptocurrency option is less.
At this stage, its too late for this as bitcoin and all other altcoins have already take flight and we have thousands of coins on the market which makes this all wishful thinking... But then again having more of these altcoins makes cryptos a success as there is a coin for everyone's interest , be it health support, soccer fan coins, loyalty based tokens and many others which contribute in bringing interest to the crypto world.
2646  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it risky to invest in new crypto coins/tokens on: February 15, 2023, 01:05:09 PM
Anything that has the word "invest" in it hints of the element of risk to it! If you are aware of this and don't mind taking losses if it goes against you new coins aren't a bad option, but problem with some of these projects is some have bounty tokens allocated to them and if bounty hunters receive these coins early expect a dip in price from its ICO/IEO stage but if project has such a strong foundation price climbs up so fast Saad if you got in so early this is the benefit you get to enjoy.

2648  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Blender.io = Sinbad.io | Thoughts? on: February 14, 2023, 11:42:41 PM
For someone like me promoting the Sinbad brand I had no idea of this and btw this is definitely someone's opinion and not a fact Roll Eyes

And reading some parts of the article raised some eyebrows...how does a mixer get sanctioned as if these are regulated business setups, is this really possible to put such a business out?

The article was insightful, but how did it go from "The North Korean hackers used Tornado Cash and Sinbad to launder the crypto they stole from Horizon" when blender was the mixer involved Huh have they already concluded the change of company names here and before you know it they express doubt in themselves "There are signs the same people might be behind Sinbad and Blender" quite confusing tbh???

Nice write up Elliptic or is it coindesk  Roll Eyes

Is this how bitmixer went out too??
2649  Economy / Economics / Re: Can one achieve financial independence through crypto currency? on: February 14, 2023, 11:18:15 PM
The thing about crypto that everybody talks about is control, unlike traditional money which has somebody else pulling the strings in trying to control inflation, money supply, import & export of goods you name it...crypto has less drama of this, and no third party will have this control over your crypto assets.

Besides when it comes to bitcoin and other altcoins, when nobody knows about your crypto stash it will remain as is but with traditional money someone can dig up your loot if its in the banking system and what not and this is the financial independence and peace of mind you get with cryptocurrencies.

Given these factors, the dream of financial freedom can come true by using crypto currency?
If you approach cryptocurrency with the right mindset, you will achieve financial freedom,
Right mindset..ummm this is giving me ideas and what happens if you choose to keep money in crypto to hide your financial well being and avoid

prying eyes when you get to keep money at a bank and probably choose not to contribute towards your tax and whatnot...is this the right mind you were referring to lol  Grin

Just looked at the spreadsheet and for the ATP 500 question I understood it to be 1st and 2nd and I put in Tsitsipas and Felix Auger-Aliassime being the finalists and the order of winning being Tsitsipas-winner and Felix Auger-Aliassime runner up... Hope this can count  Cry
2651  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: February 14, 2023, 08:32:13 PM
Bayern are really flexing their muscle just to show PSG how superior they are over them.. 20minutes and PSG hasn't had any decent shot at goal and if it continues like this, the Germany team will start to get goals and it will be attack after attack... So far so good am rooting for a Bayern win here, say 2-0.

The quality of Tottenham's game is better than Ac milan and this is evident in the several matches they have played in the domestic league.
Tottenham are just terrible and current results do comfirm that Spurs are really out of form and Milan are already a goal up thanks to Brahim Diaz  goal.

Looking at how the competition is structured, is it possible to have 3 spreadsheets to show the performance of each user in the division or same spreadsheet with different tabs of each division ??

Suggested approach : three questionnaires could be used with the same questions but answers collected will be collected for each respective division.. which should also cut your workload... just my 2 cents, if this can't be done its all good  Cool

2654  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoiners are not friendly physical? on: February 14, 2023, 04:14:49 PM

I think everyone will agree that it is very useful to have a friend who is also involved in the topic of Cryptocurrencies. I am sure that for all the time there are cases when people communicate on forums and become really good friends, finding new interests. And listen to each other's opinions. Therefore, I will assume that sometimes you can find a good friend in the mine of cryptocurrencies, after which it is possible that friendship is already in real life. If their locations are not too far away.
Are you implying we should all throw away our privacy and see who matches up with our locality in the name of finding a crypto friend here, I don't think so...

Anyway I think the forum is a match maker naturally as it has provided a platform to find other people of our native language by adding local boards and for people that need help or something in IRL they have used these channels to reach out and its voluntary not a coerced undertaking .
2655  Other / Meta / Re: What's AI Written Post? on: February 14, 2023, 07:38:16 AM
I have been wanting to know the answer to a question in the forum for some time, the question seems simple to everyone, but to me the question is very important.

How to post on bitcoin forum using artificial intelligence system?
Posts that have been recognized as AI generated have actually been flagged as spam as its all gibberish.

And is anyone on this forum using the AI writing system?
I don't think anybody using it will give an open answer to this Roll Eyes

What are the pros and cons of using AI writing systems?
Most likely cons will be plagiarism as these A.Is work by referencing other people's work and not creating unique content...

AI writing post against forum policy?
No such a policy here as far as I know, but if this content is spam or plagiarized you risk your account being banned!!!

A popular campaign manager on this forum @Royse777 has a cautionary rule about this in his managed signature campaign policy.  So are we to assume that AI writing posts is against forum policy?
What you described here is campaign managers policy and not the forums guidelines or anything...

To prevent AI domination effective from today we are introducing an incentive for forum users. Find AI written posts on this campaign
and report to me either in public or in forum PM, please be sure you have enough reference to support the claim. For successful report
the reporter will receive the weekly payment instead of the accused campaigner. The campaigner will be removed immediately.

Thanks for the heads up, wasn't even aware such a bounty offer existed.

2656  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 14, 2023, 07:19:31 AM
If Klopp goes to Real Madrid, I'm almost sure he'll bring Salah.  Real Madrid is not a team to be rejected.  They are one of the most valuable and respected teams in the history of world football.  We may see Salah if Klopp leaves, but I don't think he will mind Nunez because Nunez fell short of expectations.  Instead, they can make attempts to get Haaland.  Of course, we are only talking about possibilities, in reality there is no such situation at the moment.
Reportedly, ancelotti will train the Brazilian national team and Klopp is the strongest candidate to become the next Madrid coach
Klopp to Madrid... No ways mate! His real test has come and he needs to show the world that he can help rebuild Liverpool back to its former glory, and if he fails I honestly don't see how he will secure a top job as the Madrid one.

btw, nunez is a mistake made by liverpool and he is the cause of the decline in liverpool's performance not klopp
No its not, Liverpool failed to give Mane a good contract and when he left they thought they would easily find his replacement and fast forward to this day their performance is awful!

With the quality that is currently owned by Madrid players, I doubt that if he goes to Madrid, he will bring Moh Salah too
LOL you sounding like a Salah fan right about now, players like this lad need to start thinking of going to other leagues were they will retire and get a fat paycheck as he has passed his prime... maybe going to Saudi Arabia wouldn't be a bad idea Tongue
2657  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people don't adopt Bitcoin - they don't understand Expected Value on: February 14, 2023, 05:47:41 AM
If you ask me all am seeing are people being street smart and avoiding being hustled by so random person. By the way, if you have heard of the saying "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush" these guys are prudent and cautious of their actions and wouldn't want to gamble away what they already have...

This is one of the reasons why Bitcoin adoption is so low. Everyone is aware of volatility, of big rallies and big crashes. Avoiding big risks is the default course of action for most people, even if big risks have positive expected value.
In relation to the YouTube video, I agree with you, this just demonstrated to us that people arent ready to take risky decisions.. it's all about playing it safe and you can imagine with all the FUD and hacking news we usually read about in the news most will be reluctant to take this journey. But as people read more and know what crypto is all about we should expect adoption to sky rocket.
2658  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can we experience $80k this year? on: February 13, 2023, 11:28:34 PM
As much as we all want to see Bitcoin succeed some of these price expectations are a big ask to be honest ! Let's not forget that for btc to achieve this fiat is needed to be pumped into this economy which happens not to be happening at the moment.. And with the increase of altcoins on the market... Bitcoins potential is currently not fully explored as too many shitcoins are siphoning money out of btc and this will only change when money is brought back to btc and good altcoins.

There should be something huge to happen before we see a market price as high as this one
Exactly, maybe our hype man Elon Musk can use his Twitter platform to give btc the bump it needs or adopt it into his spacex program as a sign of preparations of the future Smiley.
2659  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoiners are not friendly physical? on: February 13, 2023, 08:58:46 PM
I was very happy  to joined bitcointalk. org November 7 2020, but I came to discovered one thing in the community that is making me wondering, if bitcoiners don't trust themselves by seeing themselves face to face like the way church members or Muslim members love themselves by seeing themselves face to face after the service.
Cryptocurrencies were designed in such a way that people can remain anonymous while using the coins to pay for good and services without giving up your identity. But going the extra mile having to meet people in the name of bitcoin is a personal choice, and for one's safety it's best to protect your yourself by not meeting anybody face to face unless you are comfortable with it .

Going to three years now, am trying to see some of the bitcoiners in my area to discuss with them how to join hands together to promote Bitcoin in the society but they said they prefer discussing it online than see each other physical.
The easiest way to meet bitcoin users is to find companies that are providing crypto services and if they advertise for a meet up then you get to see locals involved in crypto.

Are they ashame to be a bitcoiners? or they are among the people that think Bitcoin is a scam?
Why Bitcoin users are afraid of see each other physical?
Many reasons, maybe they don't want to be stalked by others, avoiding the government money who might be interested in knowing if they pay up their tax and plenty other reasons.
2660  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins worth investing at dip on: February 13, 2023, 07:30:56 PM
When it comes to investing in altcoins during a bearish market , your best bet is to go for coins that are established and have a huge following (community) as this can easily translate potential customers  into demand during recovery and price gets pushed up...
Going for the newest coins isn't a bad idea, but with these its a gamble & you could fall in the pump in dump trap and you don't want losing hard earned money this easily.

For now I see babydoge is making rounds that's one to put on your watchlist, tron is another that has stayed under the radar as I see several tokens being built on its blockchain should see some value growth ...
