2641  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Was Nigeria actually paying subsidy on fuel? on: July 01, 2023, 05:14:35 PM

These are few of the reasons I feel there is more than meet the eyes in regard to the glorified subsidy payment. What is your view?

This one go tell you say the matter concerning fuel subsidy for Nigeria no be wetin we go even fit talk here. Government self never get themselves about wetin dey happen for that sector or na them still dey chop the money too. You no surprise say Asari Dokubo wey no even dey for government dey seat gidigba for press house take dey make statement against military while himself don dey chop the money dey come. I no just want talk about subsidy.
2642  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How is your Gambling Pattern Like? on: July 01, 2023, 04:30:49 PM

I'm starting to think I got used to this kind of activity every day but I'm still aware that I'm not an addict. No specific pattern but I bet every time I have my phone. I should not use the phone anymore if I should quit.  Grin

You seem to be defining what it is already  Grin When you have the pulse to do one thing consistently, it shows you kind of getting use to that thing. I guess there may be levels of addiction just maybe you are not sure yet if you are there yet  Grin. But on a lighter note, it does happen especially if you play online, you are tempted to always check to see what's happening with the game and checking either livescore if FT is to your favour.
2643  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How is your Gambling Pattern Like? on: July 01, 2023, 03:01:42 PM
Do you set aside specific times each day or week for gambling? If you enjoy sports betting, do you bet on games throughout the week whenever they're available?

At a time it was worse that it was daily and within the 24 hrs more betting from the initial one for the day you have made just because of chasing the loses but with time it reduced to interval of 2/3 days until weekly and sometimes casual depending on the games available.

And regarding your environment, do you prefer playing at an online casino while listening to music in the background, or do you prefer a quiet atmosphere?

This is dependent on the game being analysed. If you have different teams to analyse then to be in quiet atmosphere is preferred for attention but after the analysis and during the real bet, some cool tunes will be appreciated  Grin
2644  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: IMF calls for the regulation of cryptocurrency on: July 01, 2023, 01:42:49 PM

But it will be interesting for me to observe the loopholes in this law.

Markets in Cryptoassets (MiCA) is more positive with stablecoin and I think it will become the coverage for CBDC to operate in EU. It doesn't really involve NFT and I want to see how transparent it will be when even most people regard KYC as a whole gamut of disclosure, maybe this is the loophole in regulation even though I think its adoption will strengthen crypto exchange and digital currency.

The most of the operation will be in 2024 and 2025 but it is going to revolunize the crypto regulation in EU
2645  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bet on live game or while game hasn't started yet? on: July 01, 2023, 12:37:06 PM

You are right and indeed it is better to bet when the match has started a few minutes or during the first half break because from there we can see the performance of the game to be able to predict the bets made, it's just that if you bet when the match has started we will get lower different odds if you place a bet at intervals before the match starts.
Seeing match statistics is very important to make more precise predictions.

However betting while the match has started is still not a guarantee that the bet will come to our favour. Gambling is such that table can turn around at any point. At all times we should guide our gambling pulse and not to over stake probably because we feel it will favour our bet and we throw all in. I have witnessed a thing of such where bet happened after the game had started with high hope for winning but at the end the match ended draw with a late goal. What most people are doing now is to have huge bet after the game had started but it is still risky.
2646  Economy / Economics / Re: What will you do when you have Financial Freedom? on: July 01, 2023, 11:44:44 AM

Now my question in such a situation is when you already have financial freedom. then what are you going to do to enjoy your life and enjoy that financial freedom?

If I have attained that status where my money will keep working for me and I keep having chains of financial inflow due to what financial machinery I have set in place, then I need to secure my health so that I can be healthy to benefit from my financial freedom. Health is important to enjoyment. If you don't have good health you realize you won't be happy with life because you will either be taking a medication from one hospital to the other. Therefore, prevention is better than cure. I will ensure to keep fit, get health instructor to direct me on what to do and food to it. This is basically what I will do while my money keeps working for me.
2647  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: turn $40,000 into $4,000,000 with me (Record 1-0) | $60,400 on: July 01, 2023, 09:59:33 AM
OP is showing a continuous and consistent style. He is maintaining just a game on a slip though with very huge stake that I doubt people will follow but the lesson on that is learnt as play only a game in a slip and chances of winning is high.

Another lesson is that I discover he is focusing on goals and not win, draw or double chance. I think most times we win bet, it is mostly the games we bet on how many goals that the match will produce or the time it will be produced like 0.5, 1.5, 2.5 etc and whether 1/hf or 2/hf goals.

I will be following your bets here but not the ones like the last one at 1.91 odd with over 2.5 goals,I would prefer a maximum odd like the first bet at 1.5-1.6

I think this is the challenge that bettors have regarding to odds. We have a mindset of the type of odd that wins match but most times it doesn't happen that way. A winning team that has odd of 1.50 or 1.60 for this week may have a greater or lower odd next week. So what matters is the analysis of their winning chances not really the odd.

and I will place all my allocated money for betting there.

Hey buddy, remember gambling is what it is. Guide your emotions and gamble as you can bear your loses

I am becoming extremely tired of losing money all the time by playing slot machines and I am not feeling anymore good emotions there like I used to so I am trying and change to sport bets, threads like this are good for people like me.

Maybe you have changed your winning pattern. So go back to the days you were winning and start using your earlier winning strategy. You don't substitute winning strategy for losing strategy.
2648  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which League Makes Sports Betting Easy to Win? on: July 01, 2023, 09:12:40 AM

Going against the odds that means that betting in the favour of underdog team which have huge odds but your chances of the winning those bets are slim because they are very few matches in which the weaker teams win. However the strategy can be to bet on all such matches and even if you win a few of them that will compensate the amount of matches that we have lost.

To bet on all matches is risky all the same because bookies use such big odds as a trap for greedy minds knowing that bettors will have an eye on those odds. I will rather take few of it, maybe one or two and add few g/g to it and try the luck but to gather all at a betting slip and expect to be compensated from the big odd is not ideal. One important thing about big odd is that whenever different prediction sites tip a particular big odd to win then there is high chance for it to be true since they might have done underground work on the team readiness to win or if the opponent is not really up to the task of beating the underdog with big odd.
2649  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Major League Soccer (MLS) 2021 on: June 30, 2023, 10:05:39 PM

Messi is an amazing player no doubt but the league is already playing hard and he isnt playing at all for Inter Miami. Inter is also terrible so far and are on the last place and i dont know how even Messi can help them. The only thing he can do for them is to boost their revenue and that they make money of tickets if he plays.

Messi is an utility player that will always shine if he just has one or two support. He showed this kind of talent at the last world cup by taking challenges to his soldier as they defeated France at the end. This time around, the fortunate thing is that he is not coming to Inter Miami alone, he is coming with a former team mate in Barcelona (Sagio Busquets) and also a former coach of Barcelona, Tata Martino who is already used to Messi both in Barcelona and Argentina. I think the two years contract will help Inter Miami move into a better position in the league from their current 15 position in the table. Who knows before next season, another top flight footballer will join the club because they are really throwing money around.

2650  Economy / Economics / Re: Ignore this Classic Business Law or Follow Your Instincts? on: June 30, 2023, 09:23:03 PM

They say do not invest in what you do not understand which was largely the principle the speaker adhered to but what if despite not immediately understanding the business model and its profit making model yet your business instinct pushing you to invest. What should you do? Listen to the former or follow your instincts?

The reason for the saying that invest in the amount you can bear the loss is really that when you invest you can as well see it as a lost money and if it comes back to you in profit, so be it. This is the mindset of some rich dude and that is why they keep getting rich. Life itself is a risk and if you don't take a risk, you have already taken a risk by your inaction of not taken a risk so whichever way, we need some risk in an unknown adventure only we do such risk with money that we can forego. If the professor took a little faith of risk by his own conviction, he would have been singing a new song of financial benefit.
2651  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice when you are going a bit far in gaming and betting on: June 30, 2023, 06:38:39 PM

Gamblers are afraid that their personal information will become known to their relatives and everyone will know that they are losing money gambling.

Well for my view on KYC that you raised, I don't think that gamblers who dislike it are doing so because they don't wish their friends or relatives to know about their losses or profit. I think majority of it could be because the cryptocurrency system should be decentralised and everything about it encrypted. For example if playing with bitcoin as a decentralised cryptocurrency, while disclosing the identify behind it. That is the point and I think KYC goes against this principle of decentralisation which is the cardinal principle of cryptocurrency.
2652  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ FIFA U-17 World Cup Discussion Thread ⚽ on: June 30, 2023, 04:24:20 PM

Brazil still has a big chance of becoming the defending champion because they always have very good junior players and so far Brazil has produced quite a lot of great and quality players.

Nigeria has also done very well in this tournament winning the trophy 5 times ahead of Brazil who have won it 4 times. Nigeria has also produced very good players who later got into u-20 team and senior team super eagles. But unfortunately, Nigeria will not be featuring in this years Asian tournament hosted by Indonesia in November/December after they lost to Burkina Faso at the last group stage.
2653  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Good upbringing. on: June 30, 2023, 03:14:49 PM

What are those measures you think parents should take in bringing up a better home?

The first thing to do is to show the children the right way. The llife style of the parents has a big role to shaping the way the kids turn out in the society because the family is the primary agent of socialization so to bring them up properly is the best gift and that is why the bible said spear the rode and spoil the child. Therefore, it is in appropriate for the parents to exhibit immoral actions in the presence of the kids. Even if the parents have the urge to exhibit such, they should avoid doing such in the presence of their children. Let the children know what is immoral and moral so that when they grow they can understand by themselves what is good or bad
2654  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers understood the game on: June 30, 2023, 02:25:54 PM

With this two sentences, I already beat you. It's not about the trader can't lose any money and the gambler can lose his money, but this is just because of different perspective and not everyone did a same thing.

The perspective matters, people already understand that gambling is risky and they can play all day without profiting and that becomes an area dreaded not to venture into except you are ready to lose but when they come into trading, the notion of losing is not familiar with them as they have erroneously believe that all investment will lead to profit. This is the challenge with new traders because they throw caution away believing it is all profit taking and no risk involved. They forget that even stock trading or shares of a company can turn out in losses.
2655  Economy / Economics / Re: Am I a bad person if I manage to avoid taxes? (Hypothetical question) on: June 30, 2023, 12:21:30 PM

But in a situation where the government fails in its responsibility of providing a basic standard of living for its citizens, it becomes hard for the citizens to obey the law by paying taxes.

This is the dilemma in it in a situation that the government does not carry out her obligations especially aspect of finance from the tax payers money. It is still a crime to evade payment of tax because it has been made a law and contravention of it attracts punishment or fine. However, whether the government does the right thing is also in the jurisdiction of the law that holds the government accountable for public funds.
2656  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you stop gambling (sports betting, casino e.t.c)? on: June 30, 2023, 09:28:16 AM

But look at it on the brighter side gambling addiction can lead to something positive, don't you think?

It barely leads to something positive, I guess you are probably looking at the luck involved in gambling like staying on and playing. Addiction overall ends up negative and destroying someone because it will keep frustrating you when you have not succeeded in your drive or goal . It is more dangerous when you are frustrated into depression because with that nothing matters to you anymore and it degenerates your physical and mental health.
2657  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino on a cruise ship? on: June 30, 2023, 03:50:57 AM

Personally, I would definitely avoid gambling in cruise ships due to its nature. When you are in a vacation, you are expected to relax and enjoy the peaceful serenity of such limited time. Engaging myself in a stressful situation may make or break the whole vacation in the cruise. There is also that potential of losing so much money to the point that the entire vacation is somehow ruined for you, including your family.

Cruising on the sea for some people is just for the fun of it just like using the yacht to move around the waters for sight seeing. So to go on a vacation using the sea for cruising and gambling on board won't be much of a stress for those who really enjoy playing some games. I have not had such experience but what interest me is the gambling tournament played on cruising ship. I think this will be a deliberate moment for fun loving adventurous gambling pundits to relish on their experience while on the sea.
2658  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: The possibility of bitcoin becoming a global currency. on: June 30, 2023, 01:31:30 AM
Because there is no one unifying fiat currency, the emergence of bitcoin as a unifying currency may all be imaginary. The global economy need a measure of direction and so likewise the financial system.

Even the Chinese yuan can not still stand to replace the USD unless something crucial is done about it. Bitcoin is very volatile so it does not fit in to be accepted as a global currency because it is going to result in big losessand could crumble the economy of any nation of the price falls drastically.

To add to your point on the volatility of bitcoin, at the investment of El Salvador adopting bitcoin as a legal tender, they are still shoving on this volatility. Bitcoin has the tendency of bursting an economy 200% or far more in riches just like it does to an individual wallet during volatility and bull and after that retracement come which can equally bring you back to the starting point or further down. This is a bane on bitcoin, it is a tradable.
2659  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your rate in betting base on odds alone? on: June 30, 2023, 12:25:41 AM

~snip~

The moment you become so tactical about your bet thats the moment everything turns sideways because even the bookmakers sometimes twist these odds to get the gambler confuse because like you said there are several cases of small odds winning the big odds and if you are gambler who rely basically on odd selection you will always fall victim to such manipulation.

The point I'm making is that betting based on just odd analysis alone is not productive. Of course like you said, it can be twisted and manipulated to confuse those gambling for that week. So we need to move away from only analysing based on odds and look at other areas that will give good analytical Idea to winning the bet like head to head performance of previous games, the players psychology and readiness, injuries etc .
2660  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your rate in betting base on odds alone? on: June 29, 2023, 08:01:43 PM

How often do you win in Soccer games if you just bet based on odds by picking a team with 1.50 and 1.70?

Winning of bet is not necessarily about the odds that you choose to bet on. Betting is gambling but you also have to do some underground work on it by researching and analysing the match going through the games already played by both teams. I have seen some upset with small odds losing against big odds. There are different ways that some predict with odds like if the small odd keep reducing and the big odds is increasing, with this they mostly and rightly predict a winning for the small odd vice versa. It is not easy with betting, you have to have faith in your prediction and hoping for luck to shine on you but definitely not because of your odd as a reason you lose or win your betting.
