2661  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What about those bitcoins that are LOST? on: July 16, 2015, 06:31:13 PM
And I mean really, really lost.
A lot of people can't remember their passwords after 4 minutes since they set it up.
But apart this, there's several ways bitcoins can get lost, like in example if you have a wallet on a USB key and this breaks and you have no cold backup.

This will inevitably bring, in the future, to less than those 21 million cap.
And they WILL keep going down.

Is there a plan to reintegrate them?
At the moment, not. but It's just a consensus thing, and could "easily " be changed.

The divisibility of Bitcoins is how the lost coins problem is handled.
In short the money supply can be expanded by having the value of Bitcoin increase such that people will be urged to spend/sell to those the increasing demand.
2662  Economy / Economics / Re: Let's Be Honest. We Are Waiting for $100/BTC to buy on: July 14, 2015, 03:51:59 PM
I highly doubt that the price of a bitcoin will drop to $100. If it does,  this would be the point to buy as much as possible, and hope that it would rise again.
2663  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 14, 2015, 03:37:21 PM
wow go to $300 soon ...
How long does it take for a SEPA transfer to BTC-E to be credited to the account? thanks
They say up to 7 days, which is intentionally vague. I know SEPA is pretty much one business day, but not sure whether they sit on it before crediting the account.
2664  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 14, 2015, 03:30:02 PM
Looks like $286-$295 is going to be where the price is at for a while. Let's see how long it is before we spend time above $300 again.
It has bounced nicely from yesterday's low. Bullish signal in place today. We should get back to 310 levels today or tomorrow.

A lack of freedom of speech is very scary. New Zealand is going in the wrong direction.

One way that the oppressed can get back at them

2668  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hello from tunisia ^^ on: July 13, 2015, 03:19:37 PM
hello everybody ,

i am new to this forum so i thought i may use my first topic to introduce myself , i am a young architect , 26 years old , i live in tunisia and i work in an architecture office . I discovered bitcoins lately and i thought it would be a good way for me to make some extra money because in tunisia the pay as an architect is not that good. and also in summer we work only half of the day so i got a lot of free time . i already spent some time browsing the forum to try to know more about bitcoins and from what most of you are saying here is that the best way to starting earning some is by offering services . so i wanted to ask you what kind of services can i start with .
Welcome.
You can provide a service with the skills you have https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0
Hope you find some useful information here.
2669  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Best BTC wallet? on: July 13, 2015, 02:42:11 PM
I use blockchain.info for my funds that I want quick access to to spend etc and electrum for my coins I'm saving as an investment.
2670  Other / Off-topic / Re: What was BTC price? on: July 13, 2015, 02:30:28 PM

I'm willing to bet she was offered Linden Dollars instead and got her currencies mixed up. She said the offer was in early 2009. I don't think Satoshi ever expressed much interest in her music.
she would have sold it anyway after the first crash or she would have lost the bitcoin by not taking them seriously
2671  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How would you tell kids about bitcoin? on: July 12, 2015, 11:30:35 PM
It's money that's stored in the computer. When daddy wants to pay someone, he sends the money through the Internet to the other person's pc. Cheesy
2672  Economy / Speculation / Re: Amazon is going to accept bitcoin in the near future on: July 12, 2015, 11:27:42 PM
If Amazon started accepting Bitcoin payments then that would make Bitcoin much more useful as a currency. I would happily purchase on amazon if it was directly with Bitcoin, because I would much rather use Bitcoin to make payments instead of some other service like Paypal for example.
I'm pretty sure Amazon has this on the agenda. Give them another year Wink
2673  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Worth investing now? on: July 12, 2015, 11:25:14 PM
Most here will say it isn't profitable, but it really depends on where you are (i.e. electricity costs) and what you are willing to risk.
2674  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: July 12, 2015, 11:23:44 PM
Bitcoin demand is yet tiny compared to investment demand for most precious metals.
I expect it will exponentially more valuable . my choice is Bitcoin
2675  Economy / Economics / Re: I need bitcoin to be $690 to break even.....will I make it? on: July 12, 2015, 04:31:52 PM
Since you were smart enough to not put in more than you can lose, you're already a winner. Just be patient. Not only will bitcoins become more valuable, but as more businesses accept them their functional value will grow as well. The game's not over until you cash out.
2676  Economy / Economics / Re: Can bitcoin really save Greece? on: July 12, 2015, 04:26:16 PM
Even if Greece does not decide to go full Bitcoin the fact that it is being considered validates crypto currencies and their potential
2677  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think bitcoin will reach it's $1000 mark again? on: July 12, 2015, 04:23:18 PM
Well? Will it?

So far I've a lot of doubt.
I would say almost certainly yes. Bitcoin has long term value and potential.
2678  Economy / Speculation / Re: WE JUST HIT $300 BULLMARKET CONFIRMED! (Now for real..) on: July 12, 2015, 04:21:58 PM
I'm almost sure bitcoin will go up to over $400 somewhere , It really has a potential I think and It's good to know that you have an investment that is very likely to double in  a month or few
2679  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 12, 2015, 04:17:36 PM
MOON !!! Smiley
Yep. Bought a modest amount 10 days ago because of the situation in Greece and China, price has risen since then and not fallen at all.
2680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cloud mining on: July 08, 2015, 01:40:28 AM
well then i don't think there is something else, i searched because i was interested too, but i did found nothing, your only bet is to use some renting site like miningrigrental and rent rig that have low rate, maybe you cna point them on new fresh coin and try to instamine

except renting a rig is not profitable; there is no reason for someone with a rig to rent it out to someone else if they could be making more mining with it. if you rent a rig, know that whoever is renting it to you is turning a profit from it.
Mining are only profitable if you can catch a new coin during launch, and only if that coin ends up being successful. Otherwise contracts generate negative profit.
