This is one of the ascent games that still an existence. I loved this game in those days, we used to play it in the fishing camps to pass time. most time we played it in the day time then when night we switched over to story telling and puzzle falk tales. We calls it "WATT" and that is the name written at the back of the paper.
Historically there are lot of games played in the olding days that are not played in this 21st century. This new generational children have forgotten most of the ascent games unless the child come from a family that loves ascent things. There was gamble we used to played in 90s. We Bet on 5 Cabin Biscuits that is one person would eat the 5 biscuits and another person to run or paddle a canoe across the river and come back again. And saying was that. "THE PERSON WHO WAS EATING BISCUITS WOULD NOT FINISHED IT  BEFORE THE PERSON WHO IS RUNNING OR PADDLING WOULD RETURN". And really if the person could finished eaten the biscuits the other person has won so he would take the bet.

That's hell of a story, mate! Why "WATT"? I thought they were playing Blackjack there on the picture, no?

Also, this game with eating biscuits is interesting. What was the size of those biscuits and what was the width of the river?

I see you are from Nigeria, and I read that roulette, dice, and non-skilled card games are illegal there. Since we are talking about history of gambling, can you please tell us about the popularity of those games in the past, and how popular they are now despite illegality?
2662  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 - Main sponsor of Southampton FC 👋👋 on: October 03, 2022, 02:36:27 PM
What do you think about big derby match Manchester City vs Manchester United?

I’m just sitting down to watch it. Man Utd are much improved but City are by far the best team in the PL at the moment, possibly the world. I expect City to win this game comfortably. Haaland is going to run riot today I think.

And you were right. 6-3, what a score! I already regret that I didn't watch the game. How often we can see so many goals scored? I mean in a game of this level, not in a neighborhood championship. I googled it. There were 11 goals scored in this game

but it's the highest scoring match in Premier League history, alright?

No wonder no one from our pool on Superbru guessed it correctly, or was close even:

Overall for me it wasn't a bad round, I moved 4 positions up this time:

Congrats to LTU_btc who moved 15 positions up

and got a Yellow Cap as a bonus! Smiley

Oh Liverpool, Liverpool!!! You let me down again

just as so many others from our pool. In fact, all of them, except for these guys

Congrats, @SwordsRex, @Welsh and @webtricks! That's an impressive prediction, tbh.

One more game for this round

and it's today. Let's see what it brings us.
2663  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is a game you would like to see in an online crypto casino? on: October 03, 2022, 12:01:13 PM
You know, I think it's a great idea to use the appearance of the Waterful Ring-Toss game, like this one

but to make an online game that completely depends on chance, something similar to slots.

There is a great deal of nostalgia about this game in the world, so it might be a popular online game with many millions of users.
~
If they manage to program that game of hoops, I would like to bet a lot to remember again, some children do not know what this game is, now everything has unfortunately been replaced by the PC, laptop, tablets, cell phones, the best casinos in the forum maybe they already have it in their sights.

I think it's impossible to program Waterful Ring-Toss game the way that it was exactly like in our childhood. I mean, there were such attempts:

but most reviews say it's buggy. But that’s not even the point. Even if it were perfect, it's still impossible to make such game so that you could bet real money with it. That's why I proposed to make it similar to slots, purely luck based.
2664  Economy / Gambling / Re: Duelbits.com | Casino & Sportsbook | VIP | on: October 03, 2022, 11:25:48 AM
$5 isn't small money, especially if you are getting them regularly, and for doing the stuff you would be doing anyway, with getting those bonuses or not.

I think it's nice of Duelbits to run various giveaways, like they do on twitter, or awarding people like you with $5 bonus and stuff. In fact, they are lowering their house edge this way, and still they are doing this for us, users of their site.

I also realized it, this means that Duelbits is giving everything to do things super well, in fact I have seen all the promotions/raffles they have done on twitter and they are very good, I have not been lucky enough to win but I like to be active on social networks, this speaks well, the $5 is an incentive, I like to play, and if they give me an incentive of $5 to have more fun, then I don't see anything wrong, it's a matter of expanding what we want achieve, I am a fan of slots and this is interpreted almost as when you win some free throws, or gifts, these are things that please while playing.

Also, sometimes it's way more than just $5. Look at this recent tweet by Duelbits:

I personally missed it, but it's not about me, it's about Duelbits caring about their customers. They are doing great in this department.

~ yes!
there are even some researches on how random prizes tease us more than receiving the same prize every time
somehow it triggers more reward receptors on the brain (here's dopamine one more time) if you don't know exactly what the outcome of a bet will be.

somehow relates to the idea here.

Exactly. In case of luck you can turn $5 into $500, or even more. Overall, these bonuses is a nice thing for over 90% of gamblers, and they can be a bad thing for those with gambling problems(less than 10% of all gamblers), and that is sad but curable, they just have to consult a specialist.
2665  Economy / Gambling / Re: Slot Games' RTP, variable?? on: October 03, 2022, 10:44:55 AM
~
Some of the providers that actually have ONE fix RTP version of the game(s) are:

Big Time Gaming
Relax Gaming
YGGDRASIL
Elk Studios
Iron Dog Studios
Nextgen Gaming
Kalamba Games
~

Where did you get that info? It's very interesting to me. Can you share, please?

~ In the case that games are hosted on different servers (not official servers of the game provider), then those are "fake" slots, and yes, anything can happen. Here I am talking about industry software providers (Pragmatic, Microgaming, BTG, NLC....etc).
But reputable gambling sites don't do such things, right?

~
To add, if I'm not mistaken, online casinos' RTP on both DEMO and ACTUAL slot can be different, in which they add more RTP on the DEMO mode. Not sure if it's absolutely true, my experience on both gambling with real money and playing demo modes, in demo, I'm winning a lot. So I guess it is somewhat true.

This is certainly not true. Regulators would shut down such site/provider immediately.

Also, form my personal experience, I can't say the payouts in DEMO mode is higher than they are in real mode.

I read somewhere (I think it was Wired, but I can't find the article now) that slot providers can change RTP of their slots for promo reasons on a grand scale. Not just 2%-3%, the difference we are talking about, but increasing the RTP to something like 150% for some time. But it's still a mystery to me whether it happens or not in reality.
2666  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-09-15] In the US conservationists want BTC to switch to PoS too on: October 03, 2022, 09:35:29 AM
@Betwrong. This is because their argument is bitcoin does not do anything productive for society except help criminality by making it much easier for criminals to launder their money, much easier to create drug dealing marketplaces in the darknet, much easier to pay for pedophilia content from the darknet and many much more negative reasons. In my own personal interpretation, if they are being used for those things, this good for bitcoin as a technology because it makes real peer to peer payments across the world much easier to do. I do not support criminality, however.

Using cryptocurrencies, especially Bitcoin, for money laundering and other criminal activities results in capture of those criminals in the increasing number of cases. Imo, ciminals will still be using crypto, but only because of their own stupidity.

Check out this article, "Crypto Crime Trends for 2022" by Chainalysis Team:

In fact, with the growth of legitimate cryptocurrency usage far outpacing the growth of criminal usage, illicit activity’s share of cryptocurrency transaction volume has never been lower.

Btw, unscrupulous journalists can use the same article to blame BTC in helping criminals, but we all know what is really true.
2667  Economy / Economics / Re: Development of bitcoin in Nigeria and it's economic effect on: October 03, 2022, 09:01:07 AM
Economic impact is a subjective matter. If the price of bitcoin goes down, there will be negative impact on the economy as a lot of people will loose their investments and vice versa. So it is very difficult to conclude whether it's going to be good or bad.

It is true that the volatility of Bitcoin would definitely affect the investments of investors but the Nigerian currency has been performing badly. The currency has lost most of its value recently and it is there is no hope that it would recover because it has never recovered based on antecedents. Hence, the citizens of Nigeria prefer to invest in Bitcoin because they have hope that it would soon bounce back and they can make some profit from the bearish market in the future.

Looking at the Bitcoin performance during its whole history we can rationally expect another bounce back and even a new ATH in the future because it has always been like that. The negative effect @avikz mentioned can only be a short-term one, but, of course, one have to be ready for that because it can still last for a year or even more.

2669  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: September 30, 2022, 10:38:06 AM
The entry for the lottery to win the lambo is only 1 ticket. There are plans to start a pool here on this forum to combine all the golden tickets but the requirement to join the pool is 10 tickets.

As I understand it is in case the proposal of equal share is accepted by all. Otherwise I see no reason why not to accept users with lower numbers of tickets (if the prize is shared proportionally).
And yes, the question if subject like that could be discussed in that topic is a separate thing. Another topic needed?

I agree with this. If there's a pool, the possible win should be distributed proportionally among contributors. I myself have no tickets this time, so, unfortunately I can't participate, but I love the idea. If you guys are doing this, I wish you to win that Lambo!

Btw, is there a way to check how much more I need to wager to get a FREE Golden Ticket? I may be close to the needed number. Smiley
2670  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Parents And Their Children In Gambling.. on: September 30, 2022, 09:56:50 AM
I believe happened in 2010

Michael Jordan net worth was around 550 millions of USD in 2010.

It may seem like a lot of money to us, but it is a question of ratios. Him spending $5 million in one night at the casino is like someone who has a net worth of $100,000 spending $1,000 in one night at the casino. It's not something you can do every night because it would lead to ruin, but once in a while you can afford it.
~

Exactly. And Micheal Jordan is not an addicted gambler. Losing $5 million in one night happened only once in his lifetime. Neither his son, Marcus Jordan, currently has any problems with gambling. That spending $50,000 at nightclubs in Las Vegas happened 12 years ago, and nothing like that has happened since.
2671  Economy / Services / Re: POKER COURSES FOR SALE on: September 30, 2022, 09:18:31 AM
~
if someone is already skilled in poker gambling for me there is no need to take a course because if they already have skills in poker they can develop it themselves without having to take poker courses.
but i think poker is just a matter of luck and skill is just a prop to getting closer to luck.
i can say this because i have been playing poker since i was 14 years old and until now i feel that my skills are good but when i am not lucky i will definitely lose. so for me the poker skills course is just a theory and the rest is luck.

Yeah, that's how you win in poker, by having more skills than others. Luck doesn't care who you are, it's distributed absolutely randomly among everyone. So, although it wouldn't be right to say that everyone has equal amount of luck, that definitely wouldn't be true, we can still say that no one can count on having more luck than others. Hence, we are all equal in this department. But we can count on having more skills. And if we are more skillful than our opponents, we have an edge over them.

2673  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My worst day in gambling on: September 29, 2022, 01:56:35 PM
~ Or maybe you are more successful now? Because I often heard stories about those people who quit school but became millionaires and billionaires later on.

You better forget those stories because more often than not they are about people from rich families. "You don't want to study, oh my precious, don't worry we'll make you a famous pop singer or a successful restaurateur." And it works, but only if your family has millions USD to back you up.

There's no excuse for risking the money you need for your education.
2674  Economy / Gambling / Re: I beat Duelbits on: September 29, 2022, 01:05:37 PM
~ I congratulate you, of course, that's a nice win, but don't make the same mistake many gamblers make, thinking that they "have figured it out" after a win or two. Just enjoy your win and carry on. Smiley
Exactly, the reason fans watch sport competitions is precisely because we do not know what it is going to happen, it is very common for a team or a player which is a favorite by a wide margin to lose, not only that people love underdog stories and some of them even become movies, so it is a mistake to think that just because we made a bet everyone else was doing as well and we won that somehow we have become expert sports bettors and can beat casinos at will.

Watching sport events would be abandoned long ago if there were no absolutely unpredictable wins by underdogs. Actually, betting on the underdogs is one of my favourite things in gambling. The odds are too attractive to ignore. And what a joy when you win such bet! Smiley
2675  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casino Game on: September 29, 2022, 12:01:15 PM
~
You know, that's not the worst thing that can happen here. I mean believing in "their luck, their good karma" and stuff. I personally wouldn't recommend this kind of thinking for gamblers, but that's not the worst that can happen to them. The most terrible thing is to think that you've figured it out, you know exactly how to win, all calculations done, you just need a larger bankroll for that.
Your opinion is very correct, I know that there are many people who do certain mantras in order to win, it is something that goes by the beliefs of each person, if there are people who believe that they do well doing something like that, then it seems good to me, but of course, it is not good to pay total attention to something like that, it has been something extrasensory that in fact, I know that there are many things, the energies and all that, but it is not everything, etnnoces is already something that is not to be trusted or trusted only That, I have friends who raffle cars, houses, and go to the so-called "wizards" to do jobs for them so that the numbers don't fall and they keep the prizes, so that's something that doesn't matter to me much sense, if it were so, a sorcerer would be rich and millionaire.

The same is true for all paid tipsters, imo. If they knew how to earn money on sports betting, they would tell it to their close friends and relatives instead of advertising their services on the internet.

I personally don't believe in any "energies" apart from those acknowledged by modern science, but I have nothing against people trying to "summon positive energies" while spinning slots. Don't try to cure your kid that way. Call the doctor. But if you are betting not more than you can afford to lose, and that stuff makes your experience more enjoyable, be my guest.
2676  Economy / Economics / Re: What define your success, "money, fame or achievement"? on: September 29, 2022, 11:15:04 AM

Thank you for agreeing with me. Smiley And this brings us back to the OP of this thread. The very idea that money and fame isn't a measure for success comes from the people that have a lot of that stuff, but still feel unsuccessful. I mean, it's their own problem. These people can have millions of reasons to be unhappy, but it doesn't prove that everyone else would feel the same being on their place.
Yes like that. the definition of success will be different when viewed from different points of view. different points of view are born from the characteristics of a person and the background of each person is not the same. even a dream between one and the other will be different. like the wishes of someone from a lower middle class family and someone from an upper middle class family will obviously be different. so we can't equate everything. Success can be a simple thing or it can even be a complicated thing. depends on someone understanding it. although everything ends in the same thing, namely happiness and satisfaction. and sometimes it's hard for everyone to understand each other. like me who can't understand someone from among the antique collectors.

I'm with you on this one. How can you be happy from buying an antique chair, or a cup? And how about unopened bottle of poison, like this one?

And yet, it makes some people feeling over the moon when they get those things. It's the highest point of success to them.

But it's worth noting that without enough money they would not be able to afford such acquisitions.
2677  Other / Off-topic / Re: favourite movie on: September 29, 2022, 10:35:09 AM

Congratulations to all the winners of these amazing contests run by Bitcasino.io!

I'm especially glad that you, @LFC_Bitcoin, won in both of them.

Remember a week ago you commented on my multibet win with 98.24 odds on Sportsbet.io?

Betwrong doing Betwrong things Cheesy
You have luck like this all the time, on bitcasino.io too. You must have been blessed or something, send some of that good luck this way Grin

And I thought, well, if LFC_Bitcoin believes I have so much good luck that I can share some of it, why should I be the one who denies it? I will share it, provided I have it!

The fact that you won in both contests tells me I do have that kind of luck. Cheesy

Now I see it wasn't just luck. You've been good at price predictions since 2014. So it's a coincidence, but it's a good one, innit? Grin
2679  Economy / Gambling / Re: 1 - The copycat epidemic within crypto casinos. on: September 28, 2022, 02:41:15 PM

I don't know about stifling innovation, that also sounds like another excuse. If I did something new and 1000 people copied me, I would be finding day and night to make my stuff even better. How does it stifle innovation?

Yep, it doesn't. That's what companies that created something new and original are doing all the time: they are trying to improve their creation and trying to invent something new once again, since they are, obviously, capable of that.

You can spend your lifetime on copywriting, licensing and suing those who "have stolen your work", or you can just ignore them and spend your time on creating something new and useful. I mean, you can do both, but in my opinion those judicial proceedings will suck you dry.

~First off, you will never read in ToS of any reputable gambling site that winning too much results in some kind of limiting your bet amount. Secondly, you can bet a low amount many times and voila, you are betting big again, right?

That fiat based casino you were limited on for winning just €100 wasn't an example of a good casino, if you ask me.

On the contrary, the majority of casinos do limit their customers' accounts to make sure they don't win too much. All casinos are commercial operations in the business of making money, and if you consistently win their money, they will limit your ability to continue taking it from them. Even if they can't stop you from winning, they do have to do something if you are a consistently profitable customer.

Is it true? I mean, I hear a lot about such limitations, but are there examples of such actions by reputable online casinos in reality? I know there were many such cases with land based casinos in the past, and maybe they are doing it these days too, I don't know, but what about online casinos?

I don't think they would do that either. First off, you will never read in ToS of any reputable gambling site that winning too much results in some kind of limiting your bet amount. Secondly, you can bet a low amount many times and voila, you are betting big again, right?

That fiat based casino you were limited on for winning just €100 wasn't an example of a good casino, if you ask me.

You are right that it is never written in the TOS, but there are quite a few stories here on this forum where people won big and can now only bet low amounts on several sports markets.
I only joined that fiat casino because they had a real good welcome offer but stopped playing after I got limited lol.

If it's never written in the ToS, it's a cheat, don't you think?

I don't think you can really ban players for that as they do nothing wrong in fact. They will probably just limit the players so they can only bet a low amount on the sports they always bet on. I got limited on a fiat only casino one time because I won like a bet of 100€ lol.

I don't understand why you are saying that, with a username like yours, since 2014 you should be aware of how sportsbooks and casinos are working. You haven't read the post of rambofaik above or you just think it's a fake one? He even posted screenshots for people trying to deny the reality like what you seem to do in this post. And of course, no, you can't place several bets to circumvent those limitations, they would be useless otherwise.

Sorry, I didn't read the post of @rambofaik before that post of mine because, believe it or not, I don't read all the posts on this forum, especially those made by people recently registered and with only 6 posts in total.

Now I've read all of them, and I'm still not convinced. In the latest post rambofaik said that he received a reply from support: "Stay active and they will review your account frequently and apply the changes where they deem fit."
