2661  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: circle.com on: December 12, 2016, 08:36:43 PM
apparently they have made some changes around their service (i am not using circle and just reporting what i have heard in the news) they no longer support buying and selling of bitcoin and they refer you to coinbase!!

read it more on circle itself (the article is from today):
https://support.circle.com/hc/en-us/articles/217972003

This might not be unconnected with the statement by its CEO about two weeks ago. His opinion was that bitcoin won't see beyond next ten years, so I suppose he is taking a cautious move and putting his money where his mouth is. At any rate, I think the opportunity to convert bitcoin to fiat currencies is still there for anyone to use.
2662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: i bought 1000eth when 12$ .buy or sell now? what's the future? price is 6$ !! on: December 12, 2016, 05:31:51 AM
it's a firm pumper favorite. no reason why it shouldn't go back to $12. No reason why it shouldn't be $1.20 either. you're in their hands. i think there's enough vested interests to see some more action in the future. it's not as if it's gonna fade away.
I quite agree wit you ETH was rising rapidly as pumper favorite but the attack twice have taken the win out of its sail and that momentum is no longer there, however it is not a dead coin yet. You can wait it out or perhaps channel the coins to vdice which got some prospect.

A lesson to note from tat is never to buy and old any coin tat is pumped, better to o wit te flow if you must,
2663  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has no competition on: December 11, 2016, 09:52:58 PM
Yeah bitcoin has no competition because bitcoin is available in everywhere in the world for shopping and we can buy many stuff with bitcoin in online shopping and bitcoin is much more stronger and powerful and bitcoin is very much popular than other currency.
i agree with you bitcoin has really no competitive we can see that bitcoin going to powerful and bitcoin never decreases its value and there is a lot of people are investing their money in bitcoin so its prove that bitcoin is very much stronger currency.
If indeed bitcoin has no competitors, what then is giving it the momentum to stay up there? I think some people are actually looking but not seeing. All the fiat currencies out there, all other cryptocurrencies are competing with bitcoin, but because bitcoin is decentralized, that gives it an edge over fiats and being the first cryptocurrency, it cornered the early bird advantage thus making it difficult for other coins to outsmart it in capitalization.
2664  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please teach me how to grow my bitcoin on: December 11, 2016, 07:54:38 PM
I would recommend that you rank up your account and start looking for some signature campaign , i found working in one on this forum is the best way to earn bitcoin , other sites either they try to scam you or give a very small amount that you wouldn't consider it anything, as for gambling or trading they are too risky so i would stay away from those , if you are looking for earning fast bitcoin that i would tell you you are in the wrong business because you can't make 2BTC a week it is way too hard , but you can always try to provide services for bitcoin in some freelancer sites
Very well said. That is what I have done, I wait my rank to level up for several months to earn more bitcoins through joining signature advertisement camapaign which is my primary source now, this is the best I know to have coins enough. I doubt in playing gamble sites and investing in HYIP too to make your btc grow because it is not.
The process of ranking up ones account is actually a learning process that could expose newbies to facts they need for existence and survival in this industry. That is like laying a foundation for the future and the smarter thing to do would be to take ones eyes, albeit temporarily off the money and gather good enough knowledge, which would turn out their roadmaps for growing and nurturing their coins when they eventually start rolling in.
2665  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NEver keep all your coins on an exchange on: December 11, 2016, 06:56:50 PM
Gox
Cryptsy..

If you have most of your coins in Bitfinex.. there will be little mercy when they disappear.

Surely there could not be that many people storing most of their wealth on an exchange after all that has happened in the last few years.  although the height of human stupidity still amazes me.

Bitcoin and cryptocurrency is just eight years with us and every process as we know, takes some getting used to. So far, most bitcoiners are well aware that an exchange, is never to be confused for a bank. Moreover, there are now history, one can fall back on, to decipher a thing or two about an exchange about to sink and make good one's escape.

Like when an exchange starts to quote rates that are totally out of range from those of other exchanges, that is when to gather all one got and take to one's heels.
2666  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin help poor countries? on: December 11, 2016, 05:39:14 PM
The poor countries should first develop their infrastructure, educational system, food distribution, availability of electricity, water, Internet etc.
Only after that, they can think or start to plan how to use Bitcoin.
In my opinion, such countries don't have full political, financial or economic freedom, so I don't think that they can accept Bitcoin, completely independent from other countries.
Any way, such countries have other priorities now to solve, and Bitcoin is surely not on their ''to do'' list.
I think the first thing would be for the rich countries to use their power and influence in exposing and helping to bring to book all those rulers from the poor countries, that have stacked their stolen wealth overseas. It stands to reason that, the plundering would have been minimal without the corporation of the rich countries. Just like IMF and World Bank, compels and monitor governments of some countries to implement their agreements, these things are possible if they put their legs down.

Leaving the poor countries to their fate and hoping someday, change would come is an illusion and takes the world further back to the stone age. What is the United Nations really all about in the first place - to mediate in wars that could have been avoided? Bitcoin is a pointer to probity and accountability and could check lots of loopholes those rouges use to siphon their country's wealth.

2667  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is Holding Bitcoin a long time good way to make money? on: December 11, 2016, 01:27:52 PM
Holding Bitcoin long-term (5-10) years has been proven to be historically very safe and profitable, I'd go with it if you don't have any other use for the money right now, probably better than putting it in savings account could make your retirement a lot quicker!

Bitcoin is a very good investment tool, but it is not recommended to put all of your money into bitcoin, we still dont know what will happen with bitcoin in the future, playing short term investment with bitcoin is better, holding bitcoin for a long time can be profitable but also can be a risky move
Knowing that the storm over bitcoin is not settled yet and understanding the fact that governments are uncomfortable and out to frustrate bitcoin, it would be ideal to simply go with the flow for now. Holding bitcoin for a very long while might not turn up satisfactorily, because there could be surprises and changes along the way.
2668  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Effects of Banning Bitcoin ? on: December 11, 2016, 01:02:22 PM
Banning bitcoin is free more advertising. Everybody is going to want to know what the government is afraid of.  Usually the ones that ban it are in the countries that need it most.

The more they restrict it , the more the people will be curious and will think of using it. This is somehow the government not to focus to . There are lots of issues in every country that they need to focus more so banning often in countries are not appropriate to do so.
We can see that is exactly what is playing out in China and Russia, they toyed with banning of bitcoin, but it turned out the people rather embraced bitcoin the more. Awareness of bitcoin and the technology behind it, is an eye opener on many salient issues and no one comes into the truth and goes back to lies and pretense. One thing is certain, bitcoin is a true global currency and at no time will all the governments of the world come to an accord to ban bitcoin, some will always differ.
2669  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Effects of Banning Bitcoin ? on: December 10, 2016, 11:20:32 PM
If your country ban bitcoin i think that you can still earn bitcoin and life good. How your couuntry can controll your secret bitcoin wallets? If you use bitcoin and send to skrill or paypal or other your country cant see your transaction and you are winner.

Your ISP provider can look on your Internet browsing history and find out if you are using Bitcoin in such an easy way. You are being monitored by your ISP and your data can be sent to anyone at any time. This is why I hate the governments seeking for control...... Why can't we just have freedom?
Have you ever used a vpn to connect to another vpn and then to another, what ip would you have at the end of the day? I dont think anonymity online is an issue if one is out to achieve it, so banning bitcoin - something free and borderless is simply asking people to put on their thinking caps. Bitcoin represents freedom and no price is big enough.
2670  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What wallets do you use and why? on: December 10, 2016, 09:44:10 PM
no one uses core anymore? lol

I use core 13.0 (64bit) and I have about 12 backups of wallet.dat around the UK (and one in spain) lol

I use this as I dont trust ANYONE with my coins.

think about it, your money on someone else's machine, with your password, is still not yours ^^
Would be a better idea as soon as one starts having tons of bitcoin, to warrant those backups, until then I think my coins are good at blockchain and Xapo, though I have been putting my Xapo wallets to greater use, because those fees at blockchain actually adds up overtime to something significant.
2671  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Really The Future Of Money? on: December 10, 2016, 08:38:15 PM
I dont think that only bitcoin is so yes it is but crypto currency is future of future money so i suggest to say all atm crypto currenies are future in future world because some countries will denied bitcoin and have own cryptocurrency.
For now, bitcoin is the representative of all cryptocurrencies, it is the first, has the highest capitalization and acceptability! Bitcoin have successfully laid the foundation and set standards for the future of money, though there might be a better coin tomorrow, rest assured it will never be any of the coins coming from some banks or country, because that is exactly what bitcoin came to address - freedom from governments and their agents.
2672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best source of bitcoin nowadays? on: December 09, 2016, 04:40:47 PM
In the percentage of this discussion that trading has the maximum of the votes and it is obvious that trading is in right now even in fiat currency nowadays have their trading maneuver going on right now why would bitcoin should be left behind, and in my opinion I would rather go with trading that has a faster percentage in profiting than other methods.

I bet only 1 out of 10 people that trade make money on regular. Maybe once and a while but over all its a loss. Do not mislead people.

It's not misleading. If you know about the events that are going to take place and what consequences they will have, you will be able to make a lot of money out of trading. My father is a trader (this is his hobby) and he told me that the gold price will go up a lot after Brexit, and about many other events that became true. However, two days ago there was the Italian referendum which should've risen the price again, but it didn't. Sometimes it turns out the opposite way - you never know when it happens. But trading certainly is a risky way to earn cash.
You are quite in tune! Bitcoin have taken the centre stage as a safe haven asset for geopolurical risks. The reason Italy referendum didn't seem to affect the financial markets as much as Brexit did, was because a greater findamental event - speech by Mario Draghi - the President of European Central Bank was being awaited. As at yesterday, the news came out that the European Union is going to commence quantitative easing by April,. That saw the Euro taking a deep as against gold, bitcoin, dollar, etc.
2673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin being used for illegal activities on: December 09, 2016, 03:41:21 PM
Visa, MasterCard, PayPal, and cash all serve as opportunities for criminals as well, but society keeps them around due to their recognized net benefit. so using bitcoin on illegal activities will not harm bitcoin as much media  controlled by government.
Bitcoin is the scape goat there and it's sole crime is that, it shuts the government and it's agents out of it's operations and that is a nightmare for the government and they seem to have ran short of ideas, so they are taking to blackmailing and brute force, but all that is like water on the back of a duck.
2674  Economy / Economics / Re: Should I believe in Bitcoin ? on: December 09, 2016, 02:26:25 PM
there are many currency out there of the government of the day have taken charge of in which the they control off here in this case the government do not have right over the currency you can make as much as you can and convert them to real currency if you want  transaction is easy here you have  your right so i think you believe in bitcoin.
The selling point of bitcoin lies on the fact it is not regulated or controlled by the government of any country. Only yesterday, the European Central Bank announced it is about to commence quantitative easing and tapering. The Euro has been taking the heat since that speech by Draghi, because printing money out of thin air, which is government joker, is bad busuness , but we are fortunate, bitcoin is none of that.

Yes bitcoin is being used for illegal activities! Can anyone show us any currency that is never used for illegal activities? The truth is that bitcoin just came on board, but those activities have always been with us!
2677  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best source of bitcoin nowadays? on: December 06, 2016, 08:47:40 PM
I went with gambling

I mean  isn't trading a gamble anyway? your worrying if there isnt a scam or your
gambling on prices not moving up or down depending on what position you take.
It is okay if you have gone with gambling, but saying that trading is one and same with gambling shows a shallow understanding, no doubt some aspect of trading can rightly be said to be gambling, but trading as a whole cannot be summarily dismissed as gambling.

Of course the best source of bitcoin nowadays is no other than trading. Among other things, this is the only option in the list that hands over control to people involved, other options simply leave people at the mercy of site owners.
2678  Economy / Economics / Re: Passive Income on: December 06, 2016, 08:06:02 PM
There s no such thing as passive income. You need to work to make money.

Some projects require more and some less work but in general, something working for you is always a scam. Cause if it s that great, why would a provider sell it?
Passive income means after the initial work or major work, you need not work again or just a little and the income would keep rolling in. One reason a provider might want to engage others is expansion and since no one has unlimited fund, soliciting for investors won't be a bad idea, everyone is a winner.
2679  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Economic Nobel prize for Satoshi Nakamoto on: December 06, 2016, 01:42:40 PM
Well, she or he or they deserve that. Bitcoin is the biggest achievement in technology and also for the economy. Bitcoin help people to transact their money with ease, fast, low cost and anonimousjibThe problem is, anyone can claim he/she is Satoshi Nakamoto. We dont even see her/his or their faces. Their anonimous person/people.
The easiest thing certainly won't be for someone to claim he/she is Satoshi Nakamoto, because he/she would be having quite a lot to answer and proves to make and not just to the authorities, but also the academic community. I must add that the authorities cannot be trusted to be happy with him, for exposing their master-slave game plans and might prefer to hide him themselves, so he/she and the community are better off, he/she stays underground.
2680  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 2017 Predictions on: December 06, 2016, 12:58:15 PM
Every single price prediction poll in bitcointalk.org has been WRONG, 100% of the time.

So look at the most popular choices and rule them out because it is definitely not happening

That's because people are either gamblers expecting insanely high price levels, or they are just troll voting. Polls here should never be seen as some sort of an indicator or prediction. Funny is that people are loud when their prediction is close to the reality, but at the time they are wrong (which mostly is the case), you don't hear anything from them anymore. Like it never happened. Tongue
This would be the exception though! Lot more people from different countries are sick and tied of their national currencies and you know bitcoin is the only international currency that is outside the manipulation of any one government and so provides a reliable alternative or safe haven for people to turn to for safety. That is already the situation in a number of countries and as the awareness and adoption grows, that translates to increase in demand for bitcoin, basic economics would do the rest and over $1000 per BTC won't be a big deal afterall.
