I just got an invoice from, "Bitmine Tech" but it was from Mike@bitmaintech.com.  All it says is "confirmation 18XX."  There was also an attachment that is a .jar file.  Is this possibly a virus because my email address was sold to someone?

rough calculations:
we double the hashing power
we double the fees
we double the dividends.

looking at the las div, still looks pretty bad

Not necessarily double fees.  If we buy hashlets then the hosting fee will be a lot less than what we are paying cryptx.  It's an easy comp out for them as they don't have to really do anything in terms of setup and what not, but it would increase weekly payouts as we would have less hosting fees, we would have zenpool which somehow is making more than other multipools, and we would benefit from having coins stored with them and gaining interest on deposits.  Overall its a win win for us to go with them.  And, assuming that they hashlet can be adapted and changed in the future with either new hardware or to a new algorithm, it would increase the overall longevity of this asset.

Now the only downside is whether or not GawMiners is a scam.  There is lots of evidence going both ways, but I would hope cryptx would do some diligence before blindly investing that sum of btc.
im not sure i understand the hashlet, you can change the algo in it and mine different coins

Well...it doesn't seem like many people realize what it is, myself included, so this could be all wrong.  But to me, it sounds like they have some hardware (much like cex.io does) and they sell you the output of the hardware (a certain amount of mining power).  But, they can change out the hardware in the future with more cost efficient hardware, and in turn, pass the power savings onto you.  You could also change to different hardware possibly and mine a different algo.

They seem to be trying to package the hashlet as a brand new piece of hardware, but I am not thinking it is.  They probably just have a couple of large data centers with a lot of hardware in them and then they sell it to you and can switch out new machines in the future once they are invented.

I feel sorry for the sucker that paid $999 for this X3 as he'll only make about $300 by the time it uses more power than it mines in coins and has to be turned off.

The owner canceled all the bids, then let the first bidder win it.  He stated as the reason, that he hadn't tested it and then when he did test it, the PSU wasn't working so that's why he canceled all the bids.  Why he let the one bidder win at $999 is odd though.  Probably the whole thing was a scam anyway.

From the very very beginning

I am interested and watching the thread.  There are some questions I have and obviously the business plan needs some development.  But I am in the Kansas City area, which isn't that far, and could even help out when/if needed with boots on the ground.

The first thing I thought of is timeline.  Let's say a great business model is developed and funds are collected, what is an appropriate time frame to build the whole facility and start populating it?

With that kind of power draw, doing a franchising may be worth it.  Take a look at Bitfury's new model, seems to be a bit better than Friedcat's offer and could be lucrative.

You seem to have a better idea of what would be necessary to build this than I do, but I do work at a large engineering/construction firm who just acquired a solar company and I would be happy to ask some of the engineers on quotes of a project this size if you would like?

I would of course be interested as getting at cost power is what I need right now.  Would love to buy more machines, but am limited in space on where to put them, and asking on craigslist for people to run 1 or 2 miners in their homes for me for a fee is not very appealing to me.  So I am interested and will watch and comment as this project evolves.

Good Luck.

EDIT:  I am also wondering really what the plan is on this.  Will the investors own a piece of the business?  Will dividends be paid out on profits from other hosted gear or by investing are we just getting a place to get at cost power and don't actually own any part of it?

If BA takes preorders on this scrypt asic of theirs, this will officially become a Ponzi scheme.

They already are. It says right on their website to contact them for a price.  They are selling pre taped out scrypt ASICS.  What a joke!

People, look at the scrypt scene.  The hashrate is exploding with all the new ASICS coming on the market.  They have marginally better power numbers for miners claiming to be out in December, than whats available today.  By the time they actually ship, these will be as worthless as their other product lines.

By the way, there is no way to actually contact them.  Clicking the blue link on the product page just reloads the page.  And going to their contact us doesn't have an option for scrypt.  Real professional launch of your new product BA.

Bobsag, are you going to be selling preorders for these scrypt miners?
2670  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: August 22, 2014, 01:40:27 PM
Hopefully everyone remembers what has happened since the, "tape out" of the SHA-256 chip.  Remember how they were on track all the while for February delivery.  Then, with only a month left until shipping, decided to break the news that tape out hadn't even happened yet, although before claiming that they were still on track?

Remember how they said how quick of a process it would be once the chips were received, and now, months later, they have barely made a dent in their shipping queue?

Remember how they have said multiple lies on various subjects and continue to lie and defraud customers by mining with customer equipment?

If you order a scrypt miner from BA, I can guarantee 95% that it will not be available in December.  I will have no remorse for you and your lost money, and instead will laugh at you because you are obviously ignorant.  If you even think about ordering from a company that will not release the full chip specs, you deserve to lose your money!

They still haven't released their specs of the SHA-256 chip yet.  Bobsag had to do that, and they never commented on those stats or about the chip frequency.

Also remember how they completely missed their power targets between tape out and final chip production.  They also completely missed on almost every other aspect of the miner, or they have been self mining and have been lying about messing things up, either way do you want to do business with a lying company or an incompetent one?  Come to think of it, they lied and are incompetent.

I am willing to put up 1 btc into a trusted escrow against BA that a functioning scrypt miner will not be shipped by the end of December from them.  The chip must meet power specs and hashrate by shipping time as well, which means they must disclose this information to me for the bet to be valid.  If they are unwilling to take this bet, they obviously do not stand behind their product and are just trying to steal more from the community.

BA, you have really learned from BFL and have overtaken them on many regards.  It is time to die, you have lost too much reputation and are too scumy to continue operations.  Pack it up and die you sons of bitches.

Because they are a giant scam and know there products are worthless now which is why they would rather illegally refuse your refund and instead opt to send you their out of date crap.

As to what you can do, start complaining to government bodies, there is a thread somewhere that has the pertinent bodies to address complaints to, and hope they do something.
2672  Economy / Services / Re: Possibly Looking For Someone To Collect On Debts Owed To Me on: August 21, 2014, 06:31:14 PM
Although it's not illegal to ask for debt collector service, but you have to think of other implications that are not very obvious. What you do know is the buyer on ebay is a scammer. What you don't know is whether he's a criminal in other aspects too, or how dangerous he is. If you hire someone on this forum to do the dirty work, are you going to be liable if something happens to the debt collector? Even if you both agree that you won't be liable, then something does happen to him, it can be traced back to you and you will be responsible.

Good point and thank you for pointing out something I had not previously considered.

For now, I have put out the information I have to warn others (although I am sure he has moved on to something else).

EDIT:  OOPS, didn't put BA down in this post, BA sucks and are scum...There I feel better.
2674  Economy / Services / Re: Possibly Looking For Someone To Collect On Debts Owed To Me on: August 21, 2014, 05:40:44 PM
It's really odd that they told you to ship when it was an e-check, from what I remember e-bay would tell me NOT to ship until the e-check clears.

They are totally liable for this, file a dispute with paypal and ebay. Decent chance they won't give you the money despite being liable though.

Unfortunately you had to learn the hard way, ebay is a terrible place to sell anything.

Ebay told me to ship, Paypal said to wait until the check clears.  Unfortunately, I was on my way out the door to ship other stuff and only looked at Ebay, definitely a mistake I won't make twice.  A costly one to learn though.  It just peeves me that they are owned by the same company, yet one can say, "Everything is good, payment received" and the other says, "Wait for payment to clear".  It's just dumb you should be expected to check both places before going to ship, making it easy for sellers my ass.

I appreciate anyone who can provide any support.  I was mainly getting rid of some miners to help pay for my wedding coming up, as there were some unforeseen expenses that popped up in the 11th hour.  This kind of thing just makes me sick and that Ebay won't reimburse me, even though they said everything was fine and smooth with the buyer.  Ugh, just leaves a pit in the middle of your stomach.

Fuck it, its probably gone.  Looking at the address, it seems to be a shipping depo of some sort.   Probably a fake drop or something.  Man this pisses me off.  How could the address be verified on Paypal, and Ebay say go ahead and ship it, but there is obviously no one living there?

Once u r done trying out all your known options, post the name & address details and put a bitcoin bounty on getting back your shipped product. Sometime bounties work like magic...

Yea I plan to

They are bleeding for money!  They will be gone soon.  So many useless parts since they can't build a miner that they are hawking them onto everyone else.  Don't buy that shit!  Even if it is a little more expensive, go with their competitors.  Help put a nail in BA's coffin and stick in the ground where they deserve to go.

Hard to get rid of parts when you can't build a working miner I suppose.

They have plenty of money, they're just running out of money that they don't want to steal. I have never to this day heard a single report of a customer having paid BA directly in bitcoins having seen their payment ever leave the payment address supplied by BA.

Thats true, you are very right.  Although given their high IQ level, I would wager a guess that they lost their private key and can't access those coins anymore.  Smiley

I would suggest to use something like darknet for this since it sounds a little illegal to do it Cheesy
I don't think it is illegal in the U.S. The OP could even sell the debt to a collector who then takes over pressing the deadbeat. Of course you can't beat the guy up, but you can make his life a living hell. Calling 10 times a day to his employer, posting on all his social media, asking the local police to accompany you on a visit to his house, etc.  Cool

That is what I am looking for, not sure about selling the debt yet, but of course it can be discussed with whoever is up to the job.  Nothing illegal, just make him miserable.
2680  Economy / Services / Re: Possibly Looking For Someone To Collect On Debts Owed To Me on: August 21, 2014, 04:47:49 PM
Please note, I am not looking or advertising for illegal services.  I am looking for someone who can act as a debt collector.  I appreciate the feedback and helpful advice.  Hopefully I will get this resolved because it just makes me sick that people do this and I have no patience or sympathy for them.
