Yes you're successfully mining if primespersec is > 0. How long to find a block? This is solo mining where luck plays a huge part. If the diff were to stay the same (which it is not), I would estimate you will get 1 block every 24 hours. That's just an extremely rough guide based on how many blocks I'm currently getting with my PPS. You could get one in 5 minutes or nothing for 3 days though!
Aww thanks that was clear...I will wait and see now when it will find a block.

{ "blocks" : 48294, "currentblocksize" : 1000, "currentblocktx" : 0, "errors" : "", "generate" : true, "genproclimit" : -1, "primespersec" : 3195, "pooledtx" : 0, "testnet" : false } Thats getmininginfo details.. so this means my qt client is mining primecoin? and if its mining, how long time it will take to find a block on current pps? Thanks.

Which miner and what commands i should use to test mining on Amd Phenom IIX4 955 processor? Is there any way? couldnt find one working
|
|
|
Correct. Someone earlier made that mistake too. cgminer will hash, but primecoind will reject all your shares from it since they're not actually primes. You may find a block from the qt setgenerate, but your GPU isn't going to be doing anything for you.
ahh thanks. I will give it a try with my cpu then. Cheers.

Do gpus mine this coin yet? does cgminer works?
No. No. cgminer undestands sha and scrypt, not this new prime-based proof-of-work (yet). Oh cool.. any program out there to mine with cpu/gpu? I have asus board and amd radeon 7970. Thanks. Mining is CPU only right now, via the qt client. There are lots of builds in this thread that you can try out. Which one is best / is going to work, depends on your CPU type. Actually because of lack of enough information about this coin, i tried cgminer with my gpu to mine with qt client, and it generates hash and getgenerate was true so i thought it worked, so that means its not going to find a block this way right?

Current things under development: 1. Update yacoin.org with latest builds for all platforms - I would hope Windmaster would call his source official. - I'd like to see updated Windows builds from mikaelh or hanzac and call them official. - crendore built the latest known Mac build. I'd like to see a new one. - I'm trying to provide a Ubuntu PPA. If it fails someone with more skills can join in. - I guess someone should research gitian.org for the bitcoin way to build stuff. 2. Run a poll on the official name for YAC - Yet Another Coin
- Your Alternative Coin
- Your Alternative Currency
- ...
3. Run a design contest for Logo, Coin, Icon, Favicon - Y theme
- YAK theme
- Coin theme
Oh Cool. Thanks for update

I use these setting with the V7 CL:
yacminer --scrypt -w 256 --gpu-threads 2 --auto-gpu --expiry 1 --shaders 2048 --lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 8192 --intensity 12 --worksize 256 --gpu-engine 900-1100 --gpu-memclock 1500
Getting about 265 kh/s per GPU
Tried your settings but its same. My miner actually shows hashing speed around 270 khash/s but there on the pool (any pool) i dont see my hash rates going up more than 100 khash/s....

|

Any idea Why my radeon 7970 hashing so poor guys? Its not even 100 khash/s, is it normal? (Windows 7, latest amd drivers, yacminer mikaelh's latest compile)
yacminer --scrypt -w 128 --lookup-gap 2 -I 17 --thread-concurrency 8192 -g 1 (I tried few settings, didnt work either)
