2661  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoiners are not friendly physical? on: February 13, 2023, 08:58:46 PM
I was very happy  to joined bitcointalk. org November 7 2020, but I came to discovered one thing in the community that is making me wondering, if bitcoiners don't trust themselves by seeing themselves face to face like the way church members or Muslim members love themselves by seeing themselves face to face after the service.
Cryptocurrencies were designed in such a way that people can remain anonymous while using the coins to pay for good and services without giving up your identity. But going the extra mile having to meet people in the name of bitcoin is a personal choice, and for one's safety it's best to protect your yourself by not meeting anybody face to face unless you are comfortable with it .

Going to three years now, am trying to see some of the bitcoiners in my area to discuss with them how to join hands together to promote Bitcoin in the society but they said they prefer discussing it online than see each other physical.
The easiest way to meet bitcoin users is to find companies that are providing crypto services and if they advertise for a meet up then you get to see locals involved in crypto.

Are they ashame to be a bitcoiners? or they are among the people that think Bitcoin is a scam?
Why Bitcoin users are afraid of see each other physical?
Many reasons, maybe they don't want to be stalked by others, avoiding the government money who might be interested in knowing if they pay up their tax and plenty other reasons.
2662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins worth investing at dip on: February 13, 2023, 07:30:56 PM
When it comes to investing in altcoins during a bearish market , your best bet is to go for coins that are established and have a huge following (community) as this can easily translate potential customers  into demand during recovery and price gets pushed up...
Going for the newest coins isn't a bad idea, but with these its a gamble & you could fall in the pump in dump trap and you don't want losing hard earned money this easily.

For now I see babydoge is making rounds that's one to put on your watchlist, tron is another that has stayed under the radar as I see several tokens being built on its blockchain should see some value growth ...
2663  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: in my opinion don't buy crypto at high prices on: February 13, 2023, 03:30:43 PM
I always thought that with cryptocurrencies there is never a right price or overpriced coin as the potential of bitcoin to go to higher values remains open like a blank check which if you buy now will make the current price look cheap. Imagine buying bitcoin at 70k and it rose to its all time highs of a million dollars , we definitely going to say 70k was a good deal too... Guess let's not be scared to take risks when it comes to crypto investments.

Well imo i think a lot depends on the crypto you're buying, if you want to purchase altcoins, then you shouldn't do so when they have just pumped, they are basically pump and dump coins, and you might be buying at a time it is about to dump into oblivion.
I wonder why altcoins suffer to this scheme of pump and dump, is it because these coins don't have alot of alt investors??

Am in division 3 and we have teams like Manchester City and Arsenal competing against small teams like Oldham Athletic , Wimbledon etc...lol honestly this is the champions league stuff from the set go lol. Whatever the case game on!

2665  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you still holding your coins #btc on: February 13, 2023, 12:32:10 AM
Unfortunately am no longer a hodler as I have taught myself how to trade these assets using a broker, which as really turned out much more profitable as compared to holding which can take way too long to give you satisfying results(profits) !
Gonna hold until it will hit at least six figures
6 figures like the optimism!
I guess it wouldn't be a bad idea to save up some coins for the next generation and not treat this as an investment to reap profits from.
2666  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: February 12, 2023, 07:07:13 PM
Arsenal's losing 5 points in their last 2 matches would revive the decreasing hopes of Manchester City.
The presure is just too much and Arsenal are feeling it, and with every game that comes their way these will be played like finals as all teams have something to fight for like avoiding relegation or playing the europa playoffs and for all points dropped brings city close to the title challenge without considering the potential expulsion from the premier league.

Especially if we think about the match between Arsenal and City on Wednesday.
This match will be about flexing and showing the world who is more superior, and I don't see Arsenal picking any point from this game tbh. Here comes the winning streak for the citizens Smiley

Arsenal being Arsenal in this last two matches. Lets see if the two catchers this time make a profit.
Could there be a likelihood of fatigue here, if you ask me the boys seem tired and these guys can't afford to rotate the team either.. double tragedy.

Totenham.... what the fuck are they doing? How you can lose 4-1 against Leicester after win against Man City.
Spurs lack the consistency which is why we can't take them seriously, and with how things are going they might not even make the top 4 finish as other teams like Newcastle look serious about this challenge.

2667  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how many times have you intended to stop gambling on: February 12, 2023, 04:23:49 PM
If gambling gets to a point that you have had enough of it and want to stop, then clearly there is a problem here... maybe gambling addiction or debt problems as a result of gambling !
But I believe the trick to not getting to this problem is developing self control over your gambling pleasures and not allowing greed to get to you and you should be safe. Let's have fun with gambling.

It is clearly written as such in the OP which is forum time, why do you ask??

Edit: I see, your entry is valid for phase 1 despite it coming in late, go ahead and put in your second prediction... Just don't do it after the 20th, good luck.

2672  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If you could use only 1 Tool/Indicator for the rest of your life? which one? on: February 11, 2023, 02:52:50 PM
Me personally would use Fibonacci retracement, how bout you?
Fibonacci is a good tool and if I were to use it, it would help me the the premium and discount levels and the alike , otherwise my trading strategy allows me to trade with a naked chart and I will do this with a smile on my face.
Btw I thought trading these days has moved away from support & resistance, moving averages and all these indicators and traders are more of the ICT and smart money concepts these days Huh
2673  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: February 11, 2023, 01:10:00 PM
the teams that are on a downturn and haven't shown any improvement in their recent form are Chelsea, Liverpool and Milan.
It's really worrying to see top tier teams like these failing to find form for the longest time, and with the champions league just around the corner am expecting the competition to remove the best from them or it will be a guaranteed exit for them.

Chelsea and Liverpool did have a bad season in the premier league from the start. but Milan initially had a fairly good performance in Serie A. They were even ranked 2nd for quite a long time replacing Atalanta. But lately Milan continues to play badly. since the world cup break Milan did not seem to get their maximum performance back.
These guys will be put to the test in a couple of days and their past won't write their future.

But in the Champions League I'm sure these three teams will surprise us. at least all the teams must have fought hard for the Champions League match.
Usually when teams that aren't in good form come into the champions league, what turns to happen is these games turn out to be more defensive unless the go out guns blazing... I see low scoring games.

With how crafty people are becoming just to score some free coins, I think the best practice to protect our data and crypto coins is not to open any attachments from email addresses that are unfamiliar/unknown to us.
With techniques such as steganography, sometimes its not so obvious what's behind an attachment...

This reminds me, google drive seems to be another place these guys are really trying to explore by sending out messages that have these macros scripts that auto run once their link in the message is opened on a pc starts to copy out private keys and the alike...we really need t be careful out here in the digital space.

I'm declaring support for additional rules, this will probably lower the number of spam over posts from the same user as they have ignore rules in threads. @Fivestar4everMVP should know about this and realize what the problem with the thread is now, but unfortunately this thread is not self-moderated so reporting to mod is the only way out when user breaks the rules.

Obviously this is not to prevent or make it difficult for users to rank up, but actually it is the right way to get better opportunities than someone having to ignore it because of spamming.

So far there is local rule on this thread which may have been ignored by many users, mainly;

  • As you get Merit(s), Try as much as possible to keep your count down post updated with the current number(s) of Merit left to shift you to your next rank.
  • In order to bring spam down to its barest minimum, especially from Newbies, Only one count down post is required per user, you can always edit your count down post for your next rank if you get upgraded, that is, if your are a Full member rank and make a count down post to Senior member rank, once you get to Senior member rank, you can edit your count down post for your next rank which is Hero member rank.
@Showoff you forgot to quote the 50 activity requirement rule which I believe is the safeguard that compliments the proposed jr member and above rule and am seconding yahoo62278 rule fork to bring some order here!

Hope Fivestar4everMVP will be adding these in the OP for all to see.

RULES
  • Minimum required Activity to participate in this program is 50+, any account making count down post here with less than 50 activity level will have his post reported to moderator and possibly deleted.

Hello, everyone.
I am lagging a couple of months.
As I said earlier, don’t worry.  I will eventually read all of your posts!
Reviewing is time consuming and I need to find the right moment to do it in a proper way!
I would propose increasing the cooldown period from 2 weeks to say 3 weeks or maybe even a month to give yourself time to catch up and allow yourself to have some rest too, this is a tiresome task, and thanks for doing it anyway  Cool

I have checked the thread and saw people typing different rounds even upto round 6. How come about these rounds.?
The campaign should be in its 12th two-week edition and not everyone is using the round countdown, so technically any committed user that hasn't missed out on submitting their review could be in round 12  Roll Eyes
