16 = green
15 = black

should work

thanks Phil.

Using the pin hole not used as the marker, the pins 15 and 16 should be the correct ones.

I should really get a proper jump kit for this but for now the quick and dirty way will sufficient for testing purposes.

NOTE: working great, tested with a fan

1300 G2 when I bought my pair included a black plastic plug-in piece that acted as a jumper.

as do many evga psu's the g2 the p2 the t2  models all come with that jumper.

The pool is at 3 Ph/s at the moment. Nice to see - even if it is mostly one user, thanks to that user!

yeah I am a distant second

Well... the group promising to put at least 1.5PH on the pool has fallen off the face of the earth.  Apparently they realized buying, housing and managing that much hardware was a bit more of a commitment than they planned to give.

Don't forget folks, that 1BTC block finder's bonus is still available!  No complex rules, or hoops you need to jump through to qualify.  Point some hash to the pool.  Find a block.  Get the bonus coin.

Okay I will take a shot

Yeah if no one wins, then the prize gets moved over to the next month, so 0.02btc !  I had a couple orders off amazon/clicks on ads and views, so that's good the program is paid for the next 3-4 months about.  If that grows then i'll up the prize / start a new "contest" after this one is over.  I'd like to give away a GPU or something one day Smiley I'm happy to give what I can/help, especially to those that are new, because I have good memories of when I started out tinkering with crypto.  /rant
edit: +powered riser

yeah hopefully it takes off.

still lots of,picks left

@LoneRangir  keep plugging away at it.

I finally got a working Eliovp os on a one card test miner to work.  yeah

it is a rx 460

I will let it run for a day then add some more gear.

I am also getting  one more biostar z170 on thursday  it is an rma repair  this will allow a tad more expansion of gpus.

I dont know why ppl connect 2 or more psu`s.

Problem is equalizing currents, that always destroy one of psu. Faster or slower but always do this.

Hello
Not exactly
I Build a farm for a client with 64 machines in the litecoin era, using 2 bridged PSUs (sentey 850W SS series (superflower design)) and worked perfectly, not 1 of the power suppies failed nor the GPUs after two years, we sold all by now (I still have like 15 of those power supply, bought in 2013, and stil works perfectly.

there are several secrets for this:

1) the power supply must be identical (brand, model and power rating and 80+ rating).
2) you need an add2psu gadget (i made my own, which is basically a reed relay, when it senses 5V it turns the second PSU on)
3) you need dual conversion PSUs (usually found only on PSUs above 900W or so) what i mean is PSUs that converts the entire energy into 12V single rail, and then uses VRM to generate 5V and 3.3V, the cheaper PSUs converts using different taps in the transformer for each voltage, that ones dones not work, because the second psu (which does not power the motherboard, only the GPUs) had the +5V not loaded, and since those cheap PSUs regulates over the 5V line, and not on the 12V line like the dual conversion models,  the voltage keeps going up and down all the time, eventually fucking something up or the PSU itself.
So the most importan factor DUAL CONVERSION PSUs is a MUST. they are easy to spot , if you see a vertical VRM board with big coils, then it's dual conversion and it is good for dual PSU usage.
4) and finally, the first PSU MUST power the motherboard and ALL OF THE RISERS, this is extremely important, because the risers voltage shares the line with the PCI-Express bus and if there is a tiny litte difference in voltage all hell break loose.

the second PSU powers the 6 and 8 Pin conectors on the GPU (i also power the first GPU with the first power supply) to balance the consumption between the GPUs, you have to measure current with a clamp meter that can read DC AMPERES (not many can do that, i have the APPA A18+ clamp meter that can read DC AMPERES perfectly) so measuring you know how much each psu is being loaded.

if you need any specific data ask me, i will be glad to help.
cheers
indkt.

we are talking apples and oranges.

your bridge method is one of many ways to use multiple psus on a rig. as you describe it that will work.

Other methods are 1 small psu like this for the mobo

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151113&cm_re=seasonic-_-17-151-113-_-Product

and a beast like this  for riser gpus

You are wrong in my opinion.

Proper riser setup  isolates one psu from the other.

Look at this

https://www.amazon.com/Eyeboot-Port-110-120V-amps-port/dp/B01EB33JOK/ref=sr_1_2?

the psu inside it  is isolated from the mobo.  Same principle for powered risers.
Only data goes to the mobo

I recently learned about the CKPool from a YouTube video, BitCoin Master I believe.

I like the shared fees, not-China and as a hobby miner with an S3 who is waiting for two S9s I think this is a better model than Antpool.  However, I do not understand the payout percentage.  I am sure this has been covered, but can somebody please provide the argument for a small miner using the pool and the level of predictability for payments?

Thanks!  I am happy to be joining the BTC world.

Sure  but can you tell me just how small the small miner is?

100gh
1000gh
2000gh
5000gh    are all small in my book.

I can make a good argument   to mine here if you are 1000gh to 5000gh  or larger.

But if you are tiny  no  don't mine here.

Under 500gh  and you are close to dust.  If dust you won't be paid  for  years ??   or maybe never.

but 2000gh  and you would be paid.

Yeah  took a while  but it did get it to load.

I still have issues on the website.  It is far more complex then simple mining's site.

I just have OS  no  roms.

I will try to run three  rigs  1 panda miner 2 biostar rx 470 rigs.

I took the pandaminer off Eliovp's site and went back to simplemining .

Tomorrow I will clone the working os  and run 2 other rigs.  As I have up to 10 on my license .

Looks to be a better website but a lot to learn.

test rig is mining for Eliovp  don't seem to be able to switch it to my pool choice.  Tired will get back to it on Sunday

should be mining here
26676  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Data Center Mining Garage and Man Mining Cave on: February 12, 2017, 12:50:08 AM
Since I have a lot of highly skilled miners in a forum discussing, maybe you could answer a question? I just ordered my first rig. My wife and I've had 2x gtx 1070 for gaming and we're both getting tired of video games. I can run ark on a 1060 so no point in the overkill. We decided to repurpose our cards into a 6x 1070 rig. Only Nvidia makes sense at 0.149 cent euros per kWh.We'll be limited in what we can mine but all ATI hash too slow and draw too much power, even OC and UV. I'll likely build a Vega rig this summer when its out, I think ATI will make a comeback.

My question is this, what do you do with your earnings? I'm debating on holding or reinvesting. I don't want to be the guy that bought 2 pizzas with 10k bitcoins. But this an expensive hobby and I have a vending machine business that needs cashflow as well. So would you hold and in what coinage? Or would you upscale? I'll be adding solar soon, not as part of the profitability but just because we want solar. I'll try and use all excess power mining.

Make a four card rig or five card rig.

Buy some coins with the 1 or 2 cards you did not buy.

To go from two to six cards would be 4 x say 300 or 1200.

Go from two to four cards saving 2 x 300 or 600.

Use that 600 to buy coins. Say 50 xmr.

Don't spend them keep them.

And what ever the four card rig earns. Sell. Instantly.

If you do this hedge. Wait 90 days to decide your next move.

If coins did really good. You have the 50. That you purchased up front.

I have a question for the linux guys....

I installed CentOS on a computer with a Z87 intel chipset.  Can I take that hard drive and plug it into an AMD motherboard and expect it to work?  Am I better off reinstalling from scratch?  Is there a third way to do this?

I've heard it will work, but figured I'd run it past the people here.

well if you only have the linux hdd hooked up and keep the older os disconnected it should work.

my simplemining sticks and m2 ssd's work on every single intel board  gens 4,5,6,7  they are linux.

@ citronick

how did you install  your   pandaminer os

I made a macrium reflect usb 3.0 on a windows 10 pc

it boots  but I can not seem to get the  pandaminer os onto it.

any help is welcome.  I have a file from him on a down load  LDWosPhilip.rar   I do not seem to be able to image it or open it to get it on the stick I made with macrium

after you create the macrium USB.

unrar the LDWosPhilip.rar into the USB (you can unrar the file into the root of the USB)

The rar file once unrar-ed is actually a 1GB partition file (that you will need to restore later)

Once you get the Panda boot up from USB Macrium.... at the windows lite system... select restore partition from macrium menu (in normal case this would be a backup windows system you created together with the macrium usb)

... so instead of restoring a windows 10 backup, you select the 1gb file you unrar-ed previously.

That will restore a linux system into the internal msata target.... once done... take out USB and reboot.

Eliovp's Linux will startup and ask if the system is a Pandaminer, select yes...

Then it will flash the 480m roms into Eliovp's highly sought after custom rom -- all done one-by-one automatically for each GPU.

Once done, reboot from Eliovp's linux menu .. and thats it.

Eliovp's system is a bit different from Tytanick, so you need to explore the many features like grouping, OC settings etc.

okay  lets  go slower.

I built the usb stick on a windows 10 machine that is not the pandaminer.

so  lets say I un.rar the file into the usb stick on a different win 10 machine.

walk the stick to the pandaminer   and boot   am I efff'd  because I did not do the build on the pandaminer?

I have a linux os in the pandaminer from simple mining on the msata.  I could put a blank msata in there.

I will get back in a bit.
