2681  Economy / Speculation / Re: The profit in Bitcoin hodling/holding on: January 05, 2021, 11:29:45 PM
Thanks for the input, it seems very helpful even though it's common and frequently asks by some newcomers here.

Several times I saw threads comparing Bitcoin to gold, stocks, or any valuable assets that could be safe to invest with.  Bitcoin is always different from them, Bitcoin has a unique feature that will surely have benefits if you were patiently waiting and holding this just to gain profit.

Those people who understand how Bitcoin works will surely get a profit from Bitcoin holding.  The limited supply is the only one assurance that Bitcoin price will increase from time to time, plus another factor is Bitcoin as of now is on medium exchange.
2682  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What could be bitcoin next step lets discuss together on: January 05, 2021, 10:58:15 PM
I have no idea how Bitcoin can move to $ 50,000 without correction, but I perfectly understand that this is quite likely.
If only because it will create a grandiose fomo comparable to 2017-2018, because everyone is afraid to buy bitcoin now because they are waiting for a correction. It will be fun.
Everyone has been expected about the short correction of Bitcoin price, if you are a long-time holder of Bitcoin, you will understand how the Bitcoin price will move and what to do next after surging the price in the market.  There's always a correction and after that, it will bounce back again with a healthy market resistance.  I have doubt about this short correction that was made by whales trying to manipulate the market or just a natural movement of Bitcoin, who knows.

What could be the next step of the Bitcoin price?  Still unpredictable, no one knows what will happen in the future.
2683  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did I just lose my wallet? on: January 05, 2021, 10:42:22 PM
My computer crashed but I had my bitcoin address and password in my password manager so I thought I was good. I installed the Bitcoin core app again, but can't figure out how to open my existing wallet and realized the password I have isn't the seed-like sequence of words I thought it was. Am I screwed?
We had a different name on that but the same meaning, that is a mnemonic phrase, or they called the 12 words seeds phrase or must be known in the name of a private key.  Upon creation of a wallet, you must write it down on a sheet of paper to have a backup of your wallet anytime even your computer used was crashed or damage.  So now, without the private key, you can't able to open your wallet, it should have a password and the private key must be kept safe.

Try to explore on this board, Beginners & Help, there's basic information regarding Bitcoin wallet there on how to create and how to recover your wallet through your private key or seed phrase.

Anyway, welcome to the Bitcointalk forum, here, you will learn a lot, and next time you were handling Bitcoin with proper knowledge of storing your crypto, a digital asset.
2684  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Resources for trading strategies? on: January 05, 2021, 04:45:08 PM
There any good guides out there?  How to divide your investment, strategies to follow, etc.  Long term or short term?
There are too many of them, I advise you to search on Youtube if you didn't want to read it from the article.  Videos are easy to understand rather than you were reading them in a long article, but sometimes most videos are having shortcuts and most likely not fully detailed, it might good if you take a look at both of them.

Just use a small amount in your money if you are a first-time trader, IMO, newcomers in the trading field will always encounter failures and it seems to be good if you have an amount that you can afford.
2685  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi female or men ? on: January 05, 2021, 04:11:32 PM
This question comes up in my mind once but I didn't convince that Satoshi is a female in gender.

Until such time I found the Binance Blog that it is impossible from a characteristic of a woman become a crypto enthusiast.

Let me elaborate you on what content in the article in some important points and reason why women aren't in crypto and Satoshi isn't a female in gender.
  • Women are not interested in blockchain and cryptocurrency
  • Women are not skilled in investing in crypto
  • Blockchain companies are not women-friendly
  • Women don't occupy top positions in blockchain
  • Women cannot contribute to blockchain development

But in my assumption, Satoshi is a group of people.
2686  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP Price After Lawsuit? on: January 05, 2021, 03:16:55 PM
Ripple and XRP aren't the same but the mindset of people have already doubt on XRP token since they are connected.  The SEC lawsuits only against the Ripple but not on XRP's itself, Ripple doesn't mean that they own all of XRP.  I read from articles that the founder said, "whatever happened to Ripple, this XRP will always exist but I didn't know if investors will stay their trust on XRP.

For now, we saw that XRP suffer from that announcement and probably the reason why the price was suddenly dumped in the market.  IMO, since XRPs aren't decentralized coins, I didn't hold them in my portfolio because I know the time will come for the price will down and it's hard to pump up the price.
2687  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum, XRP and Monero for Electrum wallets - Got a Question on: January 05, 2021, 02:33:19 PM
Unfortunately, Electrum focuses only on Bitcoin storage for the purpose of both convenience and security not for the altcoins that you have said above.
So, it means the official Electrum wallet is for Bitcoin only.  You can't modify the source code because of security reasons.

However, there's an Electrum wallet for these altcoins.
  • For LTC --> electrum-ltc.org
  • For BCH --> electroncash.org
  • For DASH --> electrum.dash.org

All of them are cloned with Electrum wallet by its own features.  If you want to use a multi-sig wallet just use an alternative to Electrum.
2688  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have my 600$ stimulus check, good time to buy btc? I plan to hold for the short on: January 04, 2021, 11:58:43 PM
Should I buy right now? What would you do if you were me, the $1100 is money I can afford to lose but willing to gamble it.
If I were you, yes, I will surely buy right now while Bitcoin was having a small correction and this is a good opportunity to grab while Bitcoin experienced a correction and later on it will resist and you will have profit surely.  Good thing that you have that amount willing to gamble and wait for the perfect time because Bitcoin investment isn't a short period of time of investment.

Take it down in your note how much the price of Bitcoin when you have bought and calculate profit when Bitcoin grows.  You can target the desired amount that you want and wait for a perfect time for it.  Bitcoin price move quickly in the market, even just an hour Bitcoin can move pump or dump, but now, as I can see, the market cap of Bitcoin was so good and we are still at a level of a healthier market.
2689  Economy / Speculation / Re: Correction has started? on: January 04, 2021, 11:49:19 PM
That is dumping fast, that's only a small correction.  Every time Bitcoin experience a huge pump, it will be expected that there is a correction soon and now, that has happened that there's a correction.  But yet, we are still in a healthy market, and look at the coinmarketcap, it's been resisted quickly and turn back to $31K  which is very quickly.

I don't see a reason Bitcoin will dump too much and it will not fall down beyond $20k for sure.  Probably one of the most reason whales now are playing on Bitcoin price but the fact, they won't survive.  In fact, I can now connect the dot of whales move, yesterday a lot of post on Twitter regarding Bitcoin FUD or Bitcoin haters.
2690  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Vs Tesla Fight! on: January 04, 2021, 11:40:39 PM
As of now 1 BTC = 43 Tesla Shares and vice versa.

Would you exchange your 1 Btc for 43 Tesla's? I mean Tesla Shares not Tesla cars  Cheesy
If you're going to ask me, IMO, I will not.

I have checked the price charts of them and I saw that Bitcoin is very volatile than Tesla, it seems Tesla growth continuously than Bitcoin.

There's no need to have a comparison of both of them, investors have preferred characteristics in them to choose and invest.  For long-run profit, Bitcoin is the best choice and if you want to have a short and sure to have profit, Tesla stock is good for you.
2691  Other / Meta / Re: Make this forum a better place - part 3 on: January 04, 2021, 11:19:52 PM
IMO, that idea is in conflict with the current system we have, the merit system, and also those users who always reported spam posts.

It's very simple to determine spam if this your concern and raise this proposal, report the post and let the MODs decide that post if is spam, there's no need to have this like and dislike feature on the forum.  But probably good for a neutral one, I like the "haha" reaction, it might good if you will react "haha" than if you will type the abbreviation words, "LOL".  instead, directly react to the post without any benefit to the author.

For now, I can see the forum is fine and there's no need to have this feature it seems already we have a good one.
2692  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to spot an Investment Scam on: January 03, 2021, 11:58:12 PM
GREED, this is one of the reasons why people get scam.  The massive scam of Twitter recently was an example of this, people think that they are in a win-win situation once they will put up a little amount they will surely gain profit as the sweet promise of double your money.

I tend to agree above that we must use our common sense when it comes to investment, and think twice or thrice before joining in HYIP that likely end up as a scam.  So we must be careful and be vigilant about this kind of scam attempt, keep in mind always that there's no free money on the internet and every time you put money in every investment, think about where did they generate profit and paid their users out.

Anyway, thanks to the input of OP, this will remind the newcomers to be vigilant at all times.
2693  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin a deep pullback @40K? on: January 03, 2021, 11:37:08 PM
IMO, never mind the pullback even though there's a rumor on it that it will repeat itself just like what happened in 2018 after the ATH was reached.  It's probably enough that we saw Bitcoin was hit a new ATH by this year and we are only expected around $20K but now Bitcoin keeps pumping at the start of 2021.  Probably there could be a short correction but never happen a pullback on my own.

It's obviously no one knows and pretty damn sure no one will predict the Bitcoin price.  Just keep holding and watch out for the market price so that you can pull out anytime when there's a heavy correction.

If you will analyze very well, the large adoption of Bitcoin on different large companies recently is a big help of a huge spike in the market, I can conclude that Bitcoin will never down too much beyond $20k if there is.  We still thankful that the Bitcoin price has been reached a new ATH by this year and I think that is enough proof that we must trust most in Bitcoin.
2694  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Fast ways to lose money trading on: January 03, 2021, 11:03:42 PM
This is just basic information about trading activity that everyone must know, but the main factor that you will consider in trading is not being greedy.

This is the reason why newcomers are always a loser in trading because they think that trading is very easy for them knowing that they don't have enough knowledge and experience in trading.  Let say that experience is the best teacher at all, so how many losses before you will learn and earn in trading?  It will probably wipe out your entire capital but you still don't know how to trade.

At some point, be knowledgeable enough before you will step into the trading field that is your best weapon because, in trading, there will be always competitions between and expert, newbie, and regular traders.
2695  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When do you expect the Altcoin rally? on: January 03, 2021, 05:02:01 PM
It will also depend on which altcoins you are talking about because there are some altcoins that didn't pump alongside Bitcoin.  Probably they have just manipulated coin or the dollar base coin also known as a stable coin.  Try to look at the CoinMarketCap most altcoins have the same movement as Bitcoin and altcoins also increased the price like Ethereum and other altcoins.  So, therefore, even there's no rally but still the price showed an increase.

Bitcoin dominance sometimes gives a reason why altcoin moving opposite to Bitcoin when Bitcoin price quickly up, it might altcoins down as capital cycles back into Bitcoin and then Bitcoin goes down, they will do the same.
2696  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: blockchain lost email adress on: January 03, 2021, 04:31:08 PM
I think i created the bitcoin adress the same date as i created the wallet ID on blockchain
Of course, it is.

When you have successfully created a wallet and it will generate a new Bitcoin address at the same time, so it is impossible that they were made on different dates.  The fact is that Bitcoin addresses aren't created, they are generated as a representation of the public key.  Technically, you will never know when it is generated.

The only one who will solve this is only you, remembering where did you save your password and your wallet ID.  I tried to look at my wallet files now and that was saved on my laptop notepad, as I can see there is a date when I save my backup files, probably you can find it there if when the exact time you have saved your ID wallet and password.  Just a simple guess if you are the one who created that wallet.
2697  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Unconfirmed transaction on: January 03, 2021, 04:12:01 PM
No i cant do such those things you mentioned. So by waiting 72 hours it might be confirmed?
AFAIK, once it is unconfirmed due to the lowest fee, it will eventually be rejected by the Bitcoin network if your transaction is unluckily didn't accept.  It will approximately be estimated 1-7 days and back it your wallet.  So, next time if you are in hurry, you need to blindly accept the large fee or the fee recommended by the mempool.  I also suggest always use a Bitcoin Fee Calculator.

However, all suggestion above was right and if your wallet use for that transaction allows you to use this CBF or CPFP, then, there is a chance that your transaction might be boosted.  So far as of now, your transaction shows 0 confirmation.
2698  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: blockchain lost email adress on: January 03, 2021, 03:43:56 PM
So i checked back the first incoming bitcoin transfer. But thats doesn`t mean it is the real creation date of the bitcoin adress.
It is the latest possible date.

As I assume that I created this bitcoin adress the same day as the blockchain wallet, so I need to know when the bitcoin adress was created.

So if there any ways with a known bitcoin adress to find out when that bitcoin adress was created?

Remembering the creation date isn't important at all upon recovering your wallet from blockchain.com, and also there's no way to find out when you have created the wallet.  It only recorded when there was a transaction to be done.

An email address is very important upon recovering the wallet in Blockchain, if you don't have this, there's no way to recovery.  If you have lost 2FA or password there's a possibility that you can brute force your wallet but if your email address were lost. The chances are very slim unless if you remember and have full control of your email address even you have forgotten your password or seed.

I was bookmarked this video youtube tutorial a long time ago, I saw posted here but I can't remember where it is.
Brute-force your online blockchain.info wallet with btcrecover, it could probably help you if that is your problem.
2699  Economy / Services / Re: get paid in bitcoin daily if you have reddit account on: January 03, 2021, 01:28:37 PM
One thing that comes up in my mind, this is probably illegal since OP didn't give full details on how does it work to earn Bitcoin using your Reddit account.

If this illegal, probably it could be an upvote buying or vote manipulation which is against their terms of service, and this will breaking their TOS.  The result might be taking down your account.

If not, then makes all things be clarified with full details and use escrow service since you're a newbie and don't have the credibility to run a service like this, it might be a risk to those who will join.
2700  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PSA: Fees are cheap right now on: January 03, 2021, 12:52:33 PM
5 sats/byte according to https://coinb.in/#fees as of this moment. It was around 15 sats/byte a few hours ago too.
This is a Bitcoin calculator and I think it is good if we always use this when we wanted to have a transaction and not to be annoyed when our transaction gets stuck for how many days.  If you check here on Johoe's Bitcoin Mempool Statistics, the lowest fees were on yesterday January 2 and now it was spiked a little.

Probably the reason could be Bitcoin holders are now waiting for when Bitcoin stop spiking in the market or it could be traders are having a short break right after a new years celebration.

Upon moving your Bitcoin into another address, do check first the Bitcoin mempool stats if the network isn't congested.
