If you need it to be 4:1 or even 5:1 - it's true. It is not feasible. The question is just: What do you need the logo for? If your goal is to have it as small as possible or fit in any layout - then it would of course be best if it would be only one line. Like many people did. If that's not required it doesn't matter.
It's for a website, and I will probably get stickers made with the logo to apply to the product I am making. Anyways, I think this topic is about to be closed as I am talking with gjeric right now about purchasing his design. Thanks for all of the submissions! Thanks for the opportunity to enter!

Bumpety bump.

Do you have an example?
Maybe the abbreviation SC, I'll get you a few more mockups!
I generally want to avoid having letters in it if possible. But maybe make the cpu more abstract and possibly something else inside it like a brain/lightbulb/something sciency/geeky/etc. I want it to be something that is unique without words/letters. Thoughts on this one? https://db.tt/xBUkEOpp

Alrighty, got it. I'll get you a few more mockups tomorrow morning.

I could provide escrow for this if interested.

Several people have submitted ideas from outside this thread. I just want to state that it isn't a requirement to post your ideas in here but that I will need to post the winning design and who the winner is in this thread at the end. I'll also try and be forthcoming with what my favorite ideas are the next couple days as that is only fair to everyone.
The ones I like the best seem to be an abstract shape/design that then incorporates something into it such as a brain, light bulb, flask, etc.
I am also adding two gifts of 0.02 each to the 2nd and 3rd place designs. These will be gifts with no ownership transfer.
Like the CPU one?

This is interesting. I like the simplistic nature of it. Maybe if the box was colored in black or dark gray and the cpu design in it was white. My only knock here would be the computer nature of it but that is probably ok because even most of future woodwork designs will likely involve some laser cutting or cnc. I'm wondering if it would stand on it's own without the words though.
I'll get that modification to you ASAP. Thanks for the input! Edit: What are your thoughts on this mockup?

First mockup, let me know what you think! Full res transparent + white bg here, https://db.tt/zUz2EnIsLet me know what you think about the colors and such.

Sounds good, also will I be the only designer working on it?
I can't stand those logo contests and the like.
|
|
|
What would you need? I'm available.
I need a pure HTML4/CSS website. You can copy content from my old website. bluepebbleconsulting.com I like dark and red theme. Thanks Of course! HTML4 not HTML5? Also, would you be open to putting the .25BTC in an escrow?

Instead you should start a contest for 0.05BTC.All designers would post openly here and you choose the design you like!
First of all he should clearly state what kind of logo he wants, color scheme and maybe a shape he has in mind. Theres not even a company/site name in here. Ok, a open contest for BTC 0.5 The logo is for my Information Security Consultancy Firm, it will be used on my business card and website. The company name is Ronin Security Consultancy The domain will be RoninS.co I like to stick to the theme of Ronin and Katana Sword. Please put a watermark on them, then I when I chose the one I want, I will pay you, then you can take the watermark away. I could provide escrow for this trade if you're interested.

Yeah, only way to do it would be split key generation honestly.

Did you guys watch the debate with Ken Ham and Bill Nye?
Although it was an interesting listen, I wasn't all that impressed by either side. Like I mentioned above, David Berlinski is an AGNOSTIC, and he makes some incredible points against evolution. Here is a good clip of him: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHeSaUq-Hl8I watched. For the most part I really liked it. Although I completely agree with Ken Ham on almost all his points, I really wish he had not made as many references to the Bible, or at least saved it until the end when someone asked if he would ever change his mind or what was the most important thing to him. To use the Bible as a point of reference is irrelevant to those who do not believe in the Bible. Also, there was more observational scientific facts that he could have shared for a few topics. One being that there are some reasons why the stars can appear so far away even though the earth is young (It has to do with Einsteins theory of relativity. To learn more research Dr. Russel Humphrey's studies in his book "Starlight and Time") and there is evidence in the fossil record of plenty of sea animals that are in areas that would not be expected that can only be explained with a world-wide flood, just for a couple of things. But there is only so much time I guess. At least the discussion was started. It really is important to seperate the historical science that cannot be observed from the present day observational and experimental science that we can all agree on. That was a good point Ken Ham made. And, for those that watched the debate, what was up with Bill Nye's discussion on fish sex? I still don't really get the point he was trying to make there completely. I never have thought much about it though! Yah, I didn't get that part either, lol.
|
|
|
Yeah, Bill Nye kept having Ham repeat the same thing over and over because he didn't want Ham to give new info or more info for that matter.
|
|
|
It was a pretty decent debate, I wish it was more open though, everything felt really rushed.
