It's funny how some somewhat established members of the Bitcoin community suddenly switched from "censorship-resistant transactions" to "we need to stop this spam / bloating" and "there has to be a valid reason to make transactions".  When the mempool is full, and you're forced to pay more, the last group of people you have to blame are those who make the transactions. A censorship resistant, borderless, permitionless and pseudo anonymous is still very cheap even when the mempool is full and the price is higher than 20/30 sat/vbyte. When a very influential person, who controls billions of dollars, just say crazy stuff to see the price goes up and down , that is manipulation. There are many rules in the stock market , and such declarations cannot be made freely. People who have privileged or confidential information not released yet to the public cannot just be tweeting about it. In stock market this kind of behavior is not allowed and he would have face fines. |

Did you use RBF ((replace by fee)? If you did, you can just send another one with a higher fee. If you didn't, there isn't much you can do. If you check http://mempool.space/ you will see that transactions need about 10 sat/vbyte for a confirmation, as there is high price volatility now and people are making lots of transactions. You can paste your transaction ID there to see how much time you are likely to wait. But it will eventually get confirmed. |

I had a firm belief in BTC that it could not be used in the Pumps and Dumps Scheme because of its scarcity (limited supply, high demand) and decentralization. I posted a topic about Don’t Fall Prey to these Market Sentiments and Save your Bitcoin in which i covered 4 major market sentiments. One of them was the Pumps and Dumps Scheme, but " this market sentiment has no impact on BTC price". That's what i learned in that topic by reading members' replies. I think you are mixing different things together. Pump and dump is a market manipulation practice. Even is highly regulated markets, such as the stock market, there are pump and dump schemes. Bitcoin scarcity is totally unrelated to market manipulation. Scarcity makes it more valuable, but what would make it resilient to manipulation would be regulations, what bitcoin lacks. Who can forget Elon Musk playing around, saying he was going to use bitcoin as a payment method in tesla, then he suddenly changed his mind? This is market manipulation |

In some countries where they have serious unemployment challenges many people have engaged in bitcoin to invest and into other aspects of bitcoin, just imagine if their were no bitcoin how will the common man invest the little he or she has. If there were no bitcoin I know their are investment people can go for but it will be something that the rich and middle class can afford to invest. In bitcoin the rich, poor and middle class can go into it, this is to say bitcoin is for every body.
With the recent challenge in Nigeria where the resigni of their currency has caused scarcity of flow of cash which is really affecting the citizens, I know bitcoin will also make a good contribution in this case because lots of young people in the country are engage to bitcoin.
I understand what you are saying, and I somehow feel your pain. In developing countries bitcoin is much more needed than in developed countries. I am from Brazil and I can say that bitcoin made things way easier here , specially for those who want to send their money abroad (in investment or just traveling) In Nigeria bitcoin is probably way more important |

Não é possível um mixer ser completamente descentralizado? Talvez passando por um smart contract em eth ou outra rede?
Descentralizado em que sentido? Alguém tem de ser responsável para alojar e manter o mixer em funcionamento. O tornado cash era apenas um smartcontract. Um Decentralized App. Um Decentralized App é simplesmente um app que uma vez em funcionamento não pode ser desligado, por isso é descentralizado. Ninguem é responsável por mante-lo em funcionamento. As sanções que aconteceram no tornado cash na rede Ethereum seriam mais dificeis de serem aplicadas na rede BTC. Mas acho que um smartcontract tao complexo não deve funcionar an rede BTC. O BTC não foi projetado para rodar dApps. |

o amigo do sobrinho da ex-noiva do meu primo abriu uma em Portugal usando só um endereço (ele é Brasileiro) e na hora de tentar usar a conta pediram um número de identificação tipo CPF europeu, então não funcionava
Aqui não pediu nenhum documento europeu. As regras alteram a coisa de 1 ano, e agora praticamente todos esses bancos digitais, são obrigados a solicitar o numero fiscal do titular. Se ainda não pediram, é porque já la tem essa informação (se será a correta ou não, é outra questão), caso contrario ainda deverão vir a pedir. Normalmente existe um prazo bem alargado para essa informação ser apresentada. Me pediram para atualizar os dados até mes que vem Mas não pediram nenhum documento. |

Dinheiro compra tempo sim. Pergunte ao empregado que trabalha das 8 às 18 toods os dias há décadas se ele não ganharia anos de vida com 5 milhões no bolso  <...> podemos até chegar concordar que dinheiro compra tempo do ponto de vista que pessoas com melhor condição financeira tem a tendência a viver mais (obviamente por ter mais acesso à saúde de qualidade, tratamentos, saneamento básico, etc...) mas nenhum dinheiro no mundo te permite VOLTAR no tempo, esse é um dos pontos. Estou colocando um ponto um pouco diferente. Não adianta viver até os 90 anos, se voce passou dos seus 25 aos 75 trabalhando de 8 as 18, saindo de casa as 7 da manha e voltando apenas as 19 horas. É a realidade de grande parte da classe média brasileira. É literalmente vender a vida por dinheiro, por um emprego de merda. |

Acho que me expressei errado ou meio confuso haha, mas seria isso mesmo, muita coisa ruim acontecendo ao mesmo tempo / pouco tempo, fazendo tudo parecer que está tendo um ataque às criptos Acho que na verdade todas essas "coisas ruins" são bastante irrelevantes num longo prazo é nenhuma delas tem de fato influência na tecnologia e na única criptomoeda que realmente importa: o btc. Um banco quebrar, um piramideiro que tinha uma exchange e quebrou, problemas regulatorios de stablecoins... nada disso importa. São coisas pontuais que fazem apenas ruído no mercado. Acho q os governos e os bancos estão desesperados mesmo é com essas quebras bancárias que estão sendo impulsionadas pelo aumento das taxas de juros do fed. Mas a inflação tá pegando. Nesse cenário o bitcoin aparece como uma alternativa ao sistema bancário, e ele não apresentou nenhuma fragilidade e nenhuma notícia ruim apareceu diretamente relacionada a ele ainda. |

It is the seed phrase that ensures you have a right to certain pieces of information stored on a blockchain, and it allows you to create cryptographic signatures proving your ownership over the funds. As long as you keep your seed phrase in a safe place and only touch it when you need to export to a new wallet, you retain control over cryptocurrency and thus should not be worried. You can have a single secret key (your seed phrase) and an unlimited number of devices on which this secret was used to create a wallet. If some of these devices get dysfunctional, you can create a wallet on some other and regain access to your funds on the blockchain.
That is exactly the point. You don't need ledger live neither the device. All you need is the seed phrase. With the seed you can recover funds in another software (electrum) or another hardware device or even a combination of both (device + electrum) |

It would be good if you check which firmware version you have on the Nano S, because such an old device probably has a firmware version that cannot be upgraded. Practically, it is a device that may be completely unusable because it cannot work with Ledger Live, and most likely not even with Electrum, not to mention outdated coin apps that would represent a security risk even if you could connect the device with some software.
I am not sure if you need the newest Ledger Live versions before being offered a firmware upgrade. I never tested it.
It is always recommended to have the latest Ledger Live before a firmware upgrade, and even if the OP tries with some older versions, he probably won't be able to upgrade a device with such old firmware. There is only one way to find out the answer to that question. Firmware versions 1.1 and 1.2 cannot be updated with Ledger Live Desktop.
