Think so … Both my miners on two machines went south .

What? you don't have failover setup??

ckpool is the FAILOVER pool, you insensitive clod!

WHAT! You didn't have a failover for the failover?

Hit a block of PeerCoin! Thanks for the pool!
Congratulations Smiley, block finds have been rare lately.
2684  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Commercial grade PSU paper clip jumpers on: January 16, 2015, 07:13:25 AM
Ok sounds like these are considerably different to regular paperclips I apologise for my ignorance.

Good luck with your sales Smiley.

Has the best share feature been disabled or removed? Cant see it on my stats anymore.
It reverts to the old pool code when the new code had an issue so that's what automatically happened. Hopefully I'll get enough information to be able to find the bug in the new pool code now and once I commit any fixes to it I'll bring the new pool code back up.
Ok thanks didn't know if it was my end.
2686  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Commercial grade PSU paper clip jumpers on: January 15, 2015, 05:40:50 PM
This must be a joke, $15 for a piece of paperclip?
this clips are crypto compatible clips, not usual paper clips
I've been using pieces of regular paperclip to jumper my psu's for years.

Received my coin today from the EU group buy and must say I'm overjoyed Grin. Well done Max this is absolutely stunning!

I took a some pictures to try and capture the beauty especially with the holograms. They are limited quality as its using an old digital camera.

Funny thing is it looks different from every angle, it's full of so many beautiful colours Smiley.

Thanks for sharing the photos hedgy73, I'm glad you are happy with your purchase.

You're very welcome Max thanks for making such beautiful pieces Smiley.
2691  Other / Meta / Re: MODERATORS DO YOUR JOBS STOP THE PONZIS on: January 15, 2015, 07:43:28 AM
I agree any new ponzi thread started should be deleted immediately. Loads of them lately from brand new accounts and websites, they're all set up with one intention and that's to scam.

And also people wondering why bitcoin price has been tumbling, one of the reasons is because thieves from ponzis and other thefts are dumping them.

Delete these posts and ban the user and do us and bitcoin a favour.
2692  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitcoin mining is doomed ! on: January 15, 2015, 06:02:27 AM
I've just sold one of my rigs but still have one running to keep the chill off downstairs for my dogs while its cold because I may as well earn some coin for the power than just have the heating on. I certainly wouldn't be buying hardware or bitcoin even if I had the money at the moment. Also with electric so expensive here even the latest, most efficient miners are running at a loss.
2693  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Home Mining Set Up on: January 15, 2015, 05:52:26 AM
I think it's important to remember one thing. The usual advice of "Buy Bitcoins directly" being better than mining is usually true. I think the actual more accurate advice is "If you are hell bent on squandering your money on Bitcoins, then buying is a less terrible way to do so." As we have seen in the last few months, and particularly the last 24 hours, "Buy and Hold isn't a winning strategy, it's a less losing one"

I think the old adage remains in full force: Don't spend more on Bitcoin than you are prepared to lose. I didn't confuse "spend" with "invest".

If for some reason I had $8000 burning a hole in my pocket, I most assuredly would NOT spend it all on Bitcoin. To me, $8000 is not money I am willing to lose at this time. Of course maybe you just won the lottery!  Smiley

Good post and I your last sentence is bang on. If I had $8000 it would stay as $8000. I certainly would not buy bitcoin or mining equipment at this present time.
2694  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 0.5% fee anonymous solo bitcoin mining! 22 blocks solved! on: January 14, 2015, 12:57:09 AM
Does it matter how far from your server the miner is? Just wondering if a miner in the US has a better chance of finding a block then a miner on the opposite side of the world?

I know its probably only a split second but is that enough to make a difference?
The round trip time contributes to the amount of "wasted effort" though we are probably talking only 100ms difference out of 10 minutes and it only has an extremely small increase in the risk of losing an orphan race. Overall though it's not worth worrying about as it is offset by the pool itself being in one of the most connected parts of the world so that even if the pool was close to you, but remote from other bitcoin nodes, then the pool itself would have the same increased risk of wasting work/losing orphan races.

Thank you that answered my question Smiley
2695  Economy / Goods / Re: Stuff for Sale on: January 14, 2015, 12:17:22 AM
I will be listing more stuff I have laying around the house and will post more pics. I'm tired of paying ebay/paypal 13% and was told I could sell here for free. To be honest I'm not exactly comfortable with this whole ship first get paid later escrow thing but I understand scams. Hopefully everything goes smooth.

Same here ebay is a rip-off. Escrow is a must unfortunately with new accounts. Good luck with your sales Smiley.
2696  Economy / Goods / Re: Stuff for Sale on: January 14, 2015, 12:08:33 AM
To be honest, I did take it to heart. I'm not trying to rip anybody off and I don't appreciate being poked at. He wasn't even asking for any kind of verification that I have this stuff like you did. It was a pointless post and he was just being a dick.

Don't worry buddy just post some more pictures of what you're selling and take it from there.

You've already said you'll accept escrow which is good and instils some confidence from a buyers point of view.

I understand. You suggested I post a picture, so I did. I am also accepting escrow. I don't understand why people feel the need to make stupid comments. I'm not even selling anything expensive or enticing.

Its just light hearted banter nothing more please don't take it to heart Wink. If you can post some more pictures of the things you're trying to sell then hopefully you will get some interest and possibly sales. We're not all monsters on here its just there have been so many scammers lately that everyone is trying to protect one another. Its nothing against you personally Smiley. iglasses is a good guy by the way Grin.
2699  Economy / Goods / Re: Stuff for Sale on: January 13, 2015, 11:47:38 PM
This is not a trial. I don't have to prove anything.

You're right its not a trial, but the more proof you give the more likely you are to sell your stuff.
2700  Economy / Goods / Re: Stuff for Sale on: January 13, 2015, 11:40:28 PM
Common, get serious. Dude was digging in my ass and you know it. I don't have to prove I'm not a crook.

All newbies have to prove they're not a crook, haven't you seen all the scams here lately.
